😆

I dont understand their whole fuss. IMHO they should have shown Ishita wearing a good saree that suited the occassion n kept the traditional drama aside. 😳

Thanks for commenting. 😊

Ishita could have wore a Designer saree no harm in it, Media simply could have said Ishita looked the most beautiful n Shagun wud have realised.

@ Red - wearing revealing dress or not is one's choice but it no way makes any one less traditional IMO.

The media should have bashed Ishita for attending a cocktail party that is not a part of our sabhyata 😆... And tomorrow if Shagu throws a pool party... I can imagine Ishita swimming in the pool wearing a saree... And hopefully she has the sense not to wear that heavy necklace or she might sink to the bottom! 😆

On a serious note... It is a regressive view on the Cv's part. It was not required...

I don't think CVs are demeaning western outfits. After all, this is one show in which the heroine wears both traditional and western. Ishita has worn western clothes before and looked gorgeous in them.

I think the point of this episode was to show Ishita's individuality. They could have done without Ishita donating Raman's gift to Shagun, because that just made her seem insensitive of his feelings, but the point of this track is to show people that one must wear what they're comfortable in. Ishita didn't want to wear a bold dress just because everyone else was wearing one. She feels most comfortable in saris and that is totally fine, just as it's fine of others feel more comfortable in western outfits.

However, I do agree that she could have worn a more fashionable sari. I mean, she owns so many beautiful saris and has worn fashionable ones before, like the white one she wore for the Asia Head party.

And similarly the question can be asked - does only wearing a revealing/western dress make someone sexy? Being sexy is more of an attitude as per me rather than anything else. You could look smoldering covered head to toe as well, outfits come later.

In the new BTS Ishita is shown having a similar thought process too - a woman wearing a saree can be sexy too and similarly a woman who wears saree could be sexy when she wants to be - it depends is she wants to be sexy just for her husband or for the world - cos at the end of it - it you arent comfortable even if you are wearing a saree it is gonna show and make you a butt of jokes

Hope no offence is taken Megha lovely post BTW 😊

No offense taken either. 😳

We get the whole underlying message to viewers through this drama that - Beauty is Skin deep, Clothes dont make ur charcter etc.

But the route they thought of to give this social message was weird IMO.

They could simply have shown Ishita wearing a designer saree with a sleevless blouse like she wore on Mihir sangeet n recent ABG party, she still would have looked beautiful. N they would have shown media praising her that she is the most beautiful lady in the party , Raman wud have understood that wearing revealing gowns doesnt maek one stylish etc and Shagun still would have burned. 😆

I have problems with this traditional and non traditional approach. 😳

Obviously, we've seen ishita wear such gowns before too and morally dekha jaye toh Mihika also has the same morals that Ishita does. Yet she wore a gown too. So I don't think they meant to look down on girls who wear backless. They just had to show some Ishra nok jhok to and they thought of this.

P.s : Just my pov and I completely understand and respect yours too. If it's come across like that to you, it may have come across like that to many others as well, so it is a valid point.

Thanks dear n Ur post is no way an offensive one 😊

Yes we all get the underlying meaning of the whole drama- my POV was that they shouldnt have made this traditional non traditional stuff coz Mihika too was wearing a gown is she by that standard Non traditional then?

Anyways no point in thinking about LOgic in daily soaps it seems. 😆

Actually, I take back the last part of my former comment. I don't think a woman needs to wear even a designer sari for a cocktail party either. If she wants to come in a traditional kanjeevaram sari, what's the big deal? Aren't we all advocates for women rights? A woman should wear what she is comfortable in whenever she wants. The occasion should not force her to wear something she's not comfortable in.

If Ishita feels more comfortable in traditional sari, then she should wear that for any occasion she wants.

It's true that people should wear western outfits if they're comfortable in them, but the same is true for the other side as well. I think CVs showed this episode today because so many women are looked down nowadays if they wear sari. Western clothes are becoming much more acceptable in society but in the process, the women who prefer traditional clothing are made to feel ugly and plain. A woman can be sexy and gorgeous in a sari too, even a traditional sari. There is a stereotype nowadays that a woman in western dress is sexy and gorgeous, and a woman in sari is "homely". Women in saris are not often described as beautiful. So I can understand Ishita's insecurity.

The CVs message is that beauty is inherent, not dependent on clothing. They wanted to show people that women in saris can be just as gorgeous as women in western dresses, but the route they took to portray this message was a bit weird.

Exactly my point , n even if Ishita was shown wearing a gown like Mihika, the Press still wud have praised her as Ishita looks beuatiful in those too. 😳

she could have wore a sleeveless but I guess hence it is shown that Mihika gives this advice to her; she went with the idea cos she found it nice. And maybe they would show it sometime in the future - loads of functions to go after all - this cocktail was just the beginning.
