Actor Amol Parashar has finally broken silence on the constant chatter about his personal life, especially the rumours linking him to Konkona Sen Sharma. The two were seen together at the premiere of Gram Chikitsalay, his latest web series, which immediately fuelled talk of them being in a relationship.
In a conversation with ETimes, Amol addressed the speculation but chose to keep things open-ended. “People made it official… Today, I will choose not to answer. But don’t hate me if I change my mind in a week,” he said. He also pointed out that his family and friends were present at the same event where their picture went viral, yet the focus shifted entirely to him and Konkona.
The actor admitted that he is still learning to handle the scrutiny around his private life. “I’m not complaining. Maybe it will take me some time to talk about my personal life. Some people in the industry said, ‘Amol you are reaching a certain kind of point in your career or a certain kind of point in your fame, where people are going to be interested in your personal life. You can’t fight it’. I took that advice. I went back and I trained myself to at least not feel bad about it, whether it’s Koko (Konkona Sen Sharma) or any other person in the past. It’s happened a couple of times… Maybe the fear is that (the relationship will become part of my entire personality),” he explained.
While the actor refrained from confirming or denying the relationship, his words suggested a clear awareness of how narratives are built around public figures. For now, he seems more focused on his career.
On the work front, Amol is being noticed for his role in *Gram Chikitsalay*, a satire on the challenges of rural healthcare. Earlier this year, he also featured in *Kull: The Legacy of the Raisingghs*, alongside Nimrat Kaur and Riddhi Dogra. The show, directed by Sahir Raza and penned by Althea Kaushal, is streaming on JioHotstar under Balaji Digital.
As for his personal life, Amol has left the conversation open, with fans waiting to see if he chooses to share more in the coming weeks.
