If the CV's point was to show that one should wear something that they are comfortable in and not conform to others thoughts, etc - it was very poorly executed. I am fine with the fact that Ishita didn't wear the dress that Raman bought her (giving it away to Shagun - is an entirely different matter which I am not going to get into), but I would have preferred her to wear a different dress - something that was more suited to her style instead of the kanjivaram saree (not saying it doesn't look good either but it would have been nicer).
And also I do not understand the whole "not comfortable wearing a dress" that is being shown - what is wrong in wearing one, not all dresses are revealing, sometimes a saree reveals a whole lot more than a dress does, it's a logic that I just don't get.

I have NO problems with Ishita not wearing a backless n off shoulder gown for a cocktail party but she ended up looking like a woman going for a Puja than a Cocktail party - within her comfort zone she could have worn a designer saree with sleeveless blouse etc. The point still could have been made that Ishita is not comfortable in such revealing dresses.

Now they showed media praising Ishita for going traditional (yes she looked beautiful no arguments on that) but really was this required? Its as if the people who wear EVening gowns or designer saares r non Traditional or are fools to turn up wearing such clothes in Cocktail parties.

Y r women who wear backless or off shoulder dresses looked down upon? How does wearing a gown makes u non traditional and wearing a saree makes u traditional ? Its not as if Ishu has never worn an evening gown ever? What were the cvs exactly trying to say? 😆

Ishita has worn backless blouses (two days ago) and sleeveless dresses, CVs just came up with a flimsy excuse so Shagun could get what she demands...the dress Raman chose for Ishita. And as usual Ishita gave it away.😕

Well thanks a lot guys for commenting. 🤗

Cant comment now but got the gist of what all of us wanted to discuss, yes we all have different sensibilities hence we reacted differently.

For some it was more about Raman learning a lesson n for some (like me) it was about Ishita un-necessarily trying to make a style statement where it was really not required. (Wearing Puja Attire for a cocktail party)

Imho all this lesson in Traditional dressing and how to help Indian Saree weavers were not really required.

N most important thing that ticked me off was Ruhi did not go to Cocktail party so ideally there was no NEED for Ishra to go in the first place and all this Dress drama could have been avoided. It looked forced to me.

The best comment I have read on ANY Forum in the longest time👏

Thank you!

Every show does this! It is never about the characters and the story, it always has to come down to making a commentary on some "issue" (usually a woman's issue) and the way they go about doing it is so superficial. Just a week ago, Ishita was asking Raman what he would want her to wear to that award ceremony. So what happened now? The guy expressed his likes and she goes ahead and does the complete opposite. she didn't have to wear THAT particular dress, she could have picked out something she was comfortable in. But that's right, the tagline for this track is women's freedom to wear sarees so the story and character and logic be damned. Even Raman has complimented her in her saree look before but for the sake of the saree track, Ishita wears the most inappropriate outfit for the occasion and Raman has a new "gown" obsession

YOU MUST HAVE AN ELEPHANT'S MEMORY👏

I forgot completely... it just shows how much attention I pay to this soap these days... Until July I can narrate every prop placement every visual every dialog

The last month or so... I would be shocked if I can recall what actually went on in the 22 minutes

Very well pointed out...

Goes to prove what a utterly pathetic state the show is in right now😭
I dont think they even go back and look at the PREVIOUS DAY'S😲

Ishita made a big deal of asking her MIL for a Deepavali gift, letting Roo attend the wedding

The kid is NOWHERE to be seen

Wonder what banned substance the whole team is on😡😲

Poor KP and DT😭

I don't mind the gown nor the saree. In fact I am more a saree person though I wear both but I think the saree is the sexiest n classiest thing which grace a woman's figure superbly.
Yes I agree why not give her a designer saree with sexy blouse for that cocktail! A dimple black with a larger silvery or any matching border with sleeveless blouse would have been superb!
As for Shagun's gown, it was ugly. N inappropriate too for a cocktail as pointed out by one member in the thread.
I dunno about CVs message. Was it denigrating women wearing gown? I am not sure n the precap was not that long for me to deduce. The journalist was praising Ishita for her traditional look as per my observation.
Anyway All I know is I pay no heed to CVs crooked POV n thus keep my sanity intact! 😆
As another member pointed out, forget the past n watch it on a day to day basis is a sound advice!😆

Great post Aani, but honestly I still don't understand the issue here Ishita had worn gowns in the past and some were backless so for her to suddenly have a problem with it does seem quite strange. If Ishita hadn't worn gowns then it is entirely a different matter. Most of Ishita's sarees are backless too, the only difference is that she had her hair loose and open which she could have done the same with the dress.

The big issue I have is Ishita having no qualms to give her gift which her husband had brought for her to wear and to make a matter worst, she didn't even ask him or let him know in advance. Ishita made Raman look like a fool in front of his ex-wife. It's even more bizarre when it's not so long age she kicked up a big fuss to Raman for disrespecting her gift to him when she, herself, is also doing the same.

In simple words I have a major problem with this show is how writers are lacking in precision and accuracy in characterisation of both Raman and Ishita.

Thanks Mary and sorry for replying late was in LU till late and fell asleep later😳

The issue perhaps was that this dress just wasnt a backless like her dresses or blouses, but that it was a shoulderless as well; exposure till a certain limit is comfortable for some - I say this because I dont flaunting a backless myself but if some dress is very revealing in the front that puts up my cleavage for the show I wont wear it. While everyone wants to look sexy - there are also things we are comfy with and arent - and just aping someone blindly is never a good thing.

The whole giving away the gift thing I guess was also done keeping her family in mind; that is who Ishita is - she is a family oriented woman. Mihika being her sis she was thinking of her and she knew she can eventually get Raman to come around - he cant exactly escape her 😆 - but Shagun and Mihika that is a different ballgame. There Mihika has no one exactly who would support her lest Shagun use this point to snub her always; yeah Mihir is supportive and all but at the end of the day in any family when two women bicker the guy caught in between gives up interfering between them after a point of time - like a husband/son wont wanna be caught dead between his rowing wife and mom; he would rather let them handle the mess themselves, until and unless needed to intervene he rather woul not poke his nose there cos he would face it from both the ends..and Ishita knows a similar thing would have perhaps happened to MiMi, she didnt want one dress to be the reason of contention in her sister' life.

And she knows she can make Raman come around - as she is about to do tonight; I am sure you have seen the BTS.

Also in a way its her subtly saying - dont compare me with Shagun time and again - like she did last night; dont compliment your ex in front of your current wife - that was a subtle one but it had a deep underlying meaning. Stop comparing us on all counts - Ishita has had no qualms previously to dress up when her husband asked her too or when she wanted to do so for him of her own free will; but here Raman' intention was to show off to his ex his wife is sexy - now does Ishita really need Shagun' benchmark or a certificate from Shagun to prove herself sexy? No she doesnt. The one person who oughta consider her sexy does and she wants to keep it that way - she wants to stand out and apart from everyone else only when it comes to her husband; she just wants him to have his eyes on her...

Recently she explained to Toshi aunty how if she lets Ruhi and Shagun meet often both would be happy and the direct result would be Shagun wont try to ruin things - directly making Ishita' life peaceful.

There is a saying lose a battle to win a war; Ishita picks her battles and wars wisely, she knows a dress, even one gifted by her husband would be a small price to pay if it means that there is peace all around. The dress is a battle; Raman is the war - she knows what she wants to win and what is worth losing 😉😳

Exactly. Ruhi was not there. So who exactly invited them? Good question.
