No human being deserves to be abused, man OR woman. If Raman physically abused Ishita, Ishita emotionally abused Raman and for me, both are EQUALLY wrong. Just because you're a man doesn't mean you can be abused or that you can't cry out against abuse like a woman, and neither does a woman deserves disrespect.
I have seen many biased posts in this forum. Those who are saying that Raman's behavior is unforgivable are forgetting that Ishita has emotionally scarred Raman with her behavior, and yes that is abuse too, and no one has a right to abuse a man just like a man cannot abuse a woman. It goes both ways. Ishita's recent behavior with Mani goes far beyond that of best friend. Raman was totally cool with Ishita and Mani's friendship in the beginning. He joked about them but never felt jealous at heart. It was only when Ishita and Mani's behavior became over the top did he become jealous, and honestly, who can blame him? Just because Raman is a man, he cannot feel hurt when Ishita tells Mani she will leave her husband and child? What if their roles were reversed? Would Ishita, who easily believed a stranger Sanjana over her own husband about their so-called "affair", have felt totally fine if Raman's long-lost (female) best friend came into his life and started monopolizing his time and attention? No way. Ishita would have lectured Raman about how he doesn't respect his wife, how he doesn't spend time with his family, blah blah blah. Ishita has become so accustomed to lecturing Raman and pointing out his faults, that she believes herself to be a Goddess. Raman is Ravankumar, but she behaves as if she's Sita. This issue has gone way beyond a woman's right to have a male best friend. This is no longer about having friends of the opposite gender. It's about maintaining one's dignity after marriage. BOTH man and woman have a responsibility towards their spouse after marriage, and yes, their best friends should come second in their life. After marriage, neither man nor woman should be as touchy with their best friend as before, because any spouse, whether it be wife or husband, would be insecure about that, and that is their right. Ishita has brought this situation upon herself. She does not deserve Raman's abuse, but she certainly plays a role in bringing it about. Just because she's a woman doesn't mean she's always innocent. Even women make mistakes. They're not angels.I'm not supporting Raman's behavior, but lately I am really frustrated with the CVs for portraying him as a villain, Mani as a hero, and Ishita as an ideal woman who can do no wrong. Ishita is no Sita, and neither is Raman a Ravan. Both are simply flawed human beings, and if the CVs equally placed blame on both of them where it's deserved, I or other people in this forum would not have felt so frustrated. Naturally, we feel defensive of the character who is wrongly blamed for basically everything that's happening in the story. It's hard to feel sympathetic for Ishita when she has been reduced to such an annoying brat. I dearly miss the old Ishu who was strong, independent, but at the same time intelligent and fair. The CVs have murdered Raman and Ishita's characters beyond repair. Many people are not watching only for Karan and Divyanka.

this..👏TM ...i hope you do take the time to read most ofv the posts that have been refereed to inn this thread..the apparent ones supporting raman...it wasn't supporting his action. ..no abuse is ever justified. ..it was venting at the writers for butchering a character which was close to everyone's heart...yest it was Raman and today it was Ishita....i am sorry if I sound very obtuse when i say if a womans self respect was hurt yesterday...what made me sober up was the man regretting immediately next morning... he still owes a huge apology and explanation. ...nobody has said he can go scot free...today a man's dignity and self respect was hurt badly...but i don't see any guilt or apology forthcoming for that...and therein lies my problem with this track and the characterization. ..As a married woman..as much as the first scenario made me cringe...today gave me equal measures of pain..if not more...and we have every right to express that I hope...I am sorry ..as a woman. ..the use of words such as dignity, self respect and self esteem has to be consistent...it cannot vary from situation to situation...That said if the cvs really want us to relate to this love story anymore...there is huge damage control needed and quick🥱
