I was someone who came back to the TV duniya after so many years due to the sheer nature of this show. It was fresh, mature, and different, as close to reality as possible and the topmost ... It was sensible.
I had openly vented out and disagreed to the time slot change because I felt that it will end up becoming a scapegoat of the timeslot and boy I was right. Today the frustrated viewer in me wants to vent out the frustration of this track 😡😡.
There were many a times earlier also that we were disappointed from the ongoing tracks. I for a change, did not take all this to heart ... and week after week, though will vent out my frustration in LU ... I was made happy every Wednesday with one brilliant episode after another ... I have made posts to bring positivity to the forum and tried to cheer us all ... and I actually wanted to do it this time as well ... but this track makes me cringe, rather boil in anger and I had to write this piece to clear my mind ...
I have a problem with this entire track. I was all for it when Mani had entered into the scene and the jealousy track was all for fun and frolic and it brought out the possessive side of Raman. It was another step in realization and a cameo was a brilliant move by the CVs.
But the moment, this track went took a serious turn, I immediately knew that this show has been sacrificed at the altar of the time slot. The usual jealousy track, a known MU and then a dramatic confession!
Believe, my addiction to the show would have made me gulp this down as well as a bitter pill. But the butchering of the characters of Raman and especially Ishita definitely make me want to vomit at the moment.
Am a happily married woman and though it does not make me an expert on marriage, I definitely know the ground rules of marriage. The first and foremost amongst those is TRUST. And what Ishita did in this entire track is enough to break the trust of Raman. Even if he did not carry the baggage of Shagun behind him, this track for me is enough for breaking the trust.
I am no writer and no expert but why does Ishita need to talk to Mani when her husband is around? She cannot do that in clinic? A court case cannot be solved in a day so this issue does not need to be sorted out in the middle of night. Who picks up someone's call when you are having a kind of intimate moment with your husband ... the KC fast scene yesterday when she silently wants to thank him ... will Sarika deliver a baby in the next second if Ishita did not pick up the call of Mani ... heck ... it was her first KC . she could see her husband who is rarely expressive was all shy and they were sharing a romantic moment between them, he kept a fast for her ... he does not like Mani ... there is a message in every phone which says ... I will call you later ... she could have cut the call ... ever heard about it woman?? What was the need to change his name to a girl? Raman was only annoyed ... but did he ever stop her from talking to Mani ... She very well knows that her husband comes from a broken marriage where trust was the major factor and yet breaking the trust is something which came to her so naturally? She did not for once think what will her husband think if he finds out the truth and how will he interpret it? This same woman was giving her husband a silent treatment because he had trust issues with her and told him point blank that she does not need a character certificate from him. She is his wife and she does not need to prove anything further. Then why this so annoying step of changing the name of Mani? Raman found about this in a jiffy in the series ... otherwise imagine ... instead of Mani, now she is getting incessant calls from Manisha instead of Mani day and night ... I will blast the CVs if the CEO of the year with a history of adultery cannot figure out this stupid logic.
Mani. The less I say about this character, the better. Why do they want to butcher the fact that a boy and girl cannot be best of friends? Why can't they show that people from opposite genders can be sensible and use their brains while maintaining the friendship pretty well? Mani is shown to be a man in his thirties and a successful businessman. Can he not define the boundary of his relationship with his best friend? Which best friend calls in the middle of night and says sweetheart? If I get a call from my Papa at 1 AM, I will be shocked ... leave alone my best friend. All in all, this entire track was about lying and generating mistrust and sadly cementing the age old beliefs of aunties with prejudices that if a married person is talking, laughing, having coffee and dinner dates with a person from opposite gender, then definitely it is more than friendship ... a big CHEEE to the writers for promoting this track and this thought ...
You know, I was shocked to see all this ... because honestly ... I was immediately taken back to the "Ek Dooje ke Vaaste" sequence when they sit in the auto rikshaw together and Ishita gets a call from her then fiance ... she immediately tells him she is with Raman ... she tells the entire truth to the man she was engaged to ... and when Raman surprisingly confronts her ... she is like ... I do not lie ... That was the soul of YHM ... not this stupidity they are presenting to us.
Pardon me for my rude language, but for, this track butchered and mercilessly raped the character of Ishita and we were given a ghost of her real self ... a normal stupid, brainless, thoughtless, soapy land bahu who is not at the Ishita Bhalla I identified with.
In my opinion, is a jealousy track really required to show progress in their relationship? Why cannot Raman and Ishita fall for each other without the crutches of a third party? Why couldn't they come closer with the help of Ruhi? Why couldn't they open up to each other without this jealousy track all together ... the argument will be less drama ... so I DO NOT agree to it ... They are husband and wife ... the drama can come from so many angles ... life, a forced family outing, a walk in the park, comparison from other happily settled couples and parents, their understanding of each other, they are working so a geographical separation due to a conference, onsite visit ... hell CVs I can give you hundreds of other reasons which show a progression in relationship. But guess, all this is not acceptable in the soapy land of 7:30 when in the previous show, the old fat lady wears a king size bindi on her forehead at 4 AM and gets up all decked up ... nightwear and sans makeup look is forbidden in the sanskari soapy bahu land ...
We got a glimpse of Happy Bhalla ... who is desperate enough for just one clue ... just one clue and is ready to give up all ... what makes me sad is ... Few episodes down the line ... we will have a scene where he will end up drinking (his normal behavior till now) ... and then take out his frustration on Ishita ... And then our heroine will be made Mahaan because she will cry and TRP aunties will be happy ... no one will once, even for a second give a thought that this track actually played with the sensibilities of a man ... trust which was broken ... My mother once told me ... You can repair anything in this world ... but trust once broken cannot be repaired ... it is like a broken piece of glass ... u cannot join it ... Today, for me ... this is what happened ...
Another soul of YHM which was ruined today was Ruhi ... the show was based on the life of Ruhi ... Sirf Ruhi ke Liye ... Ruhi ke liye Ishita had warned Raman on the second day of her marriage .. Raman was ready to forego his post and everything sirf Ruhi ke Liye when his daughter took his test ... Ruhi was the center of this relationship ...
Sirf Ruhi ke Liye was butchered today ... one of the parent shouted on the kid due to his frustration ... and the second one vented out the same thing in her own manner in front of the kid ... Do I need to tell them that how smart a seven year old kid is and how quickly the kid will interpret a problem between her parents? Both of them happily ignored that the kid (Sirf Ruhi ke Liye) was pushed aside mercilessly ... CVs ... you could have at least spared this part ...
I cannot find a single piece of scene which was good, not even the breakdown of Raman because of the sheer senselessness of this track ... the actors were brilliant ... they will deliver what they are presented ... but I urge the people in the forum who have some connection with the CVs/Sonal Jaffer/Ekta Kapoor/Directors/Production House ... I dunno who else ...
I have only one thing to say ... as a viewer ... I have written posts where I have written CVs,Take a BOW. Today, I openly say, I am DISAPPOINTED in your writing and this entire track for absolutely butchering the essence of the protagonist.
As I said earlier, a big CHEEE for ruining this show for me.
Wrote the crux behind the reason of my frustration on page 4 as well ...
