Keep ur face always towards the SUNSHINE .. & Shadows will fall behind ...

I thot of calling this post Shadows .. it was apt to what happened tonite in the epi ... but then thot .. yaar its celebration time .. MIHIR MIHIKA ki shaadi ka TILAK has happened .. Shagun ki shaadi ka rishta is going ... so who better to talk celebration than SOORAJ BARJATYA .. & his epic blockbuster ..

This post is dedicated to SONALI JAFFAR ... take a bow lady ... u delivered in spades ... & a humble thank u ...

She said : Appa .. mere aur Raman ke beech mein kabhi kuch nahi ho sakta hai .. i am marrying him for RUHI ... .

He said : Ruhi ki maa ban ke aayi ho .. Meri patni banne ki koshish nahi karna .. apni aukaat mein raho

She said : Aap Shagun se bahut pyaar karte ho .. karo mujhe koi farak nahi padta ...

He said : I want closure of my past .. Shagun ko shaadi karni hai usse Karne do ... I have moved on ... so should you ...

& Then she said ... : Aaj aap Shagun ke nahi .. MERE RAMAN HO ...

She stood there facing the motley group of people ... her side of the family & his side of the family ... her side clearly rocked by the expose ... & his side clearly devastated with the expose ... As she stood there taking every blow which was being thrown at her .. her shoulders kept drooping ... one after the other there were blows which were being dealt on her ..
Sanjana .. Shagun ... Poornima ... each lie rocked her foundation ...

She had started this tirade with one thot only .. to give MIHIKA a family .. but today as a result of that ... the very foundations of Mihika's new family were shaky ... she set about to JOIN a family .. & what she got was her own FOUNDATIONS SHAKY ...

He stood quietly in one corner .. a spectator to this spectacle ... all the anger went out of him the moment his wife said .. It was due to Him that Mihir had lost his family .. it was due to his relationship with Mihir's sister that Mihir couldn't let go of the past hurt .. It was due to him holding on to his PAST that MIHIR was unable to let go of his past ...

The very foundation on which he stood lay shaky ... the boy / man he had sworn to protect ... today his life lay a shambles due to his ANGER .. how many more lives would be made to SACRIFICE .. cause he could not let go of his past ... he had nearly lost his daughter .. he had nearly lost his family .. he had lost his sanity .. he had lost his happiness .. he had the lost the will to LIVE .. all because he COULD NOT .. LET GO OF HIS PAST ...

Today it stared him in the face .. SHADOWS of a MURKY past .. The shadows cast a pall over every PERSON he LOVED & CARED FOR ...

He looked around at the carcass of a dead past ... .& wondered why did he hold on to it ... all he could see behind him was DARKNESS .. & then he looked up .. .& looked at the STROKE OF LIGHT .. A STROKE OF SUNSHINE ... THE pure radiance of TRUTH shown out of that light .. the light which showed him the way ...

" Agar suraj ki roshni ko pehchaana ho .. toh kaali raat ke andhere ko pehcahano" .. ( to appreciate the true beauty of sunshine . one only had to look at the dark night) ... & tonight .. the sunshine .. showed him the way ...

She stood there ... looking at him .. how much did she misjudge him .. how much had she hurt him .. .how much had this man endured .. how much of himself did this man hide inside himself ...

As she stood there .. her family walked away from the place ... she hesitated for a moment .. but she followed behind .. they had taken MIHIKA with them .. it couldn't all go for naught could it .. had she really ruined it all to such an extent ... she ran behind them ...

He followed on her heels .. she told him .. let me handle this .. u go be with MIHIR he needs u now ... YET AGAIN the sunshine showed him the path .. she & her family had been delivered a shock of massive proportions .. but amidst all this she only thot of his FAMILY .. she thot of his brother ...

He goes away .. to stand & over hear .. His dark past saying .. she had done this to WIN HER LOVE ... it was once again not about MIHIR .. or anyone ELSE .. it was about herself ... this woman was INCAPABLE of thinking beyond herself ... while the woman who he left behind .. was always thinking of others .. even at any cost to her ...

This was the FINAL LIGHT that shone on his face . .. this light which showed guided him to the path to LET GO ...

He shouts at his past .. saying she was really the bad omen he thought of her .. his DISGUST coming across clearly for the very first time .. this was the first time she saw REAL DISGUST on his face ... each time earlier she in his tirade ... she always managed to catch a sense of past hurt .. she always felt she had the power over his emotions .. but today she read something which shocked her to the CORE .. she read .. INDIFFERENCE ... SHE READ DISGUST .. SHE READ ANGER .. not for himself .. but she read anger for his family for MIHIR & for ISHITA ...
Each time in the past when he berated her he insulted her .. it was in reference to himself & what she had done to HIM .. it was always A PERSONAL berate that he delivered to her .. today for the first time .. HE SHOUTED AT HER ... but it was NOT PERSONAL .. it was the shout of a man who shouted at a stranger who had dared hurt a member of his family ..
The scales had fallen off ... Her aroma no longer lingered in the air .. she read for the first time ... SHE HAD LOST RAMAN KUMAR BHALLA ...

SHE HAD LOST ...

The past was pushed out of the room by Mihir .. as he sat slumped .. once again another person in that room dealt with the past with anger .. the past was not resolved but was put away .. to be locked & not talked about .. as he quietly peeped into that room .. he saw MIHIR making the same mistake he had made ... he could clearly see the path of utter destruction Mihir was taking ... he had nearly lost his all because he had not dealt with his past .. he would not let his BROTHER OF THE HEART .. make the same mistake ... But first he needed to ensure ... MIHIR to had his SUNSHINE WITH HIM .. to guide his path ..

He walks into the Iyer domain .. the whole family sat stunned & shocked into silence ... when his fears are allayed ... he should have known .. the woman who could give her anything to keep a family UNITED .. would have to have learnt it from somewhere ... her parents & her sibs & her aunt .. all embraced him & his past ... they ACCEPTED ... THEY HELD ON ... THEY BELONGED

Once again he is brought to his knees ... just a couple of mins back .. a mother had taught her daughter to BREAK RELATIONS .. for no APPARENT REASON BUT FOR MONEY & MONETARY PLEASURES ...
& here were 2 mothers .. who taught their daughters to HOLD ON & TREASURE ... TO JOIN .. NOT TO BREAK .. to UNDERSTAND . NOT REJECT ...

That day as he stood there in that small living room . Tears flowed from his eyes .. he cried ... he had to cry .. cause he was CLEANSED that day ... the man who was REJECTED .. today FOUND TOTAL ACCEPTANCE .. the son - in law who was REJECTED .. today FOUND TOTAL ACCEPTANCE ... HE WAS FINALLY BACK HOME ... & HE FINALLY HAD HIS FULL FAMILY ...

The shadows of the past could not hold .. the dark clouds cleared & the marriage of Mihir & Mihika was back on track ...

She stood there happy smiles wreathing her face .. she was happy for her sister . who was finally getting the man she loved ... but her personal experience had taught her ... if the PAST WAS NOT DEALT WITH .. it would CAsT a pall on the PRESENT & THE FUTURE ..

She ran behind her dewar/ jijju / brother ...

They stood on the balcony .. a young man & his elder sister .. he spoke his heart out .. he did not hide behind a facade with her .. how could he .. if anyone would not JUDGE him then that would be IShita .. he spoke about his devotion .. he spoke about his stance ...
She gently guided him to the path of right .. she told him how holding onto a bitter past had ruined the very man he idolised ... how the past had made Raman into a SHADOW of the person he was ... holding on to a past .. Not moving on to embrace the future was the mistake that was crippling the lives of many in the family ... as he was stepping into forging a new family & life .. would he want the past to cripple him & cast a shadow .. or would he want to move on & embrace the past learn from it .. accept that it was .. & step forward ..

That moment gave him pause ... but it gave another person a greater pause .. he stood once again overhearing the tale .. he saw first hand what the impact of his self absorption with grief had cost the people around him ..

Mihir had a lot to think about .. there was his real sister who wanted to forge a relation with him..not cause she missed him or loved him .. but cause she wanted to move on to a better life .. she wanted to use her brother to step on to her ambitions ... & here was a woman who he had recently called a sister .. who should ideally not even like him .. who gave no thot to what it would cost her .. asked him to let bygones be bygones ..

His head bowed down to the woman .. this complete woman .. who as she had once told .. SHE WAS ALWAYS STANDING IN THE PATH OF RIGHT ... SHE WAS TRULY HIS SOUL SISTER .. SHE WAS MIHIR .. & HE WAS ISHITA ... Lord really did play mysterious games ...

As she walked away after leaving Mihir with his thots .. he walked in .. he stood there & laid himself bare ... for the first time he said .. I HAVE MOVED ON .. i am married .. i have a family .. i have a life .. i am HAPPY ... but this cannot happen if i still hold on to my past ... & by him holding on to the past meant .. Mihir also holding on to the past ... their lives were joined ... what Raman did impacted Mihir & what Mihir did impacted Raman ..

They both had to let go of their past ... & move on .. oR THE PAST WOULD ALWAYS CAST A PALL ON THEIR PATH TO HAPPINESS ...
He shouted .. I WANT CLOSURE OF MY PAST ...

Then he steps forth .. if he wanted Mihir to let go of the past . then he had to lead by example .. he tells MIHIR .. GET SHAGUN MARRIED TO ASHOK =

PHEW PAUSE HERE PLEASE .. ( u thot i had forgotten these words .. naa)
I know we have had a million discussions on Raman letting go of his past & etc etc ... TODAY HE LET GO OF HIS PAST ...

As he spoke those words .. he felt lighter .. he felt the weight of the world lifted off his shoulder ..yes he had let go ... he finally let go after 6 years ... his mind went back ... he had fought against a divorce for 6 years .. he held on for 6 years ... even when he finally gave the divorce .. he held on .. he moved on in life .. he also created his own family ... but he held on ... he taunted his past a million times of her inability to pen down the man for whom she left him .. that worked as his biggest target practice ...

But today he said those words .. LET HER GO .. he finally CLOSED the DOOR ... TODAY he finally absolved her of the blame of LEAVING him ... Today he stopped measuring every thing with the yardstick of a biiter betrayal .. today he had the power to look back & understand ... That Shagun had the right to decide who she wanted to be with ... today he could look at his past with OBJECTIVITY ... yes today he LET GO ... Today he MOVED ON ...

HE FINALLY reached that place .. where SHAGUN meant nothing to him ... BUT his children's biological mother ... & as a mother to his children .. he would not let anyone .. even Mihir cast aspersions on her name .. call her a kept woman ... cause it would impact his kids .. his kids his life ..

As Mihir looked into his brothers eyes .. what he saw was the absence of ANGST .. what he saw was the indifference .. what he saw was the sheer peace his brother was in ... what he saw was a spark of life ... what he saw was HAPPY BHALLA ... His brother had finally GOT BACK HIS LIFE ... He did not have to pay for his sisters sins anymore .. he too could close that chapter of his life .. & as he forged a new family .. where he pledged to give them all he could ... he needed to fulfil the promise of a past relation . a promise to protect ...

The brothers embraced ... harmony in mind ..harmony in heart ... peace & happiness flowed out of them ...

She stood a silent spectator to this entire conversation ... a small smile playing on her lips ... TODAY .. she was MRS> ISHITA RAMAN BHALLA .. wife of RAMAN KUMAR BHALLA ... she was not just RUHI's mother ...
Her aukaat had changed ...
Her heart claimed her husband ...
She finally said .. .AAJ AAP MERE RAMAN ho .. it was not about claiming him as a husband only .. she claimed the MAN RAMAN ... she claimed the HEART .. not the designation ...
This was a MAN she could fall in love with ... today as she stood there listening to these two .. the words of the past obliterated completely from her memory ...
This was the man ... she could fall in love with .. this was the man she could TRUST her emotions with .. today ... she let go of her past ... she opened her locked heart to the promise of a man .. she gave ownership of herself .. she claimed ownership herself ...

As they moved to do the ceremonies ... the whole family gathered around .. one word resounded in the hearts of all present ..
HUM SAATH SAATH HAI ..
No past .. no evil .. could break the foundations .. a foundation which was erected in lOVE ...

____________________X ___________________________

Phew today was in no mood to do a pause release ... u know what u were shown ,,, the past was resolved today .. the past of RAMAN KUMAR BHALLA & ISHITA IYER ... they both dealt with their pasts ...

One by letting go of it .. & one by opening her locked heart to a man & trusting him with her heart ...

In one discussion i had in the past .. i had said .. MIHIR is ISHITA .. the only parallel of Mihir in this serial was ISHITA itself .. i loved the divine touch .. she agrees to do all the rituals as his sister ... these 2 were so alike they are a reflection of the other ... both only stand in the path of right .. was it any wonder that these 2 would be joined in the most sacred of relations.
Today she showed what levels she could go for him .. .& he stood there for her ... he protected her ... they were true brother & sister tonite ..

I did dedicate this post to Sonali Jaffar .. simply coz she delivered on every promise that was made to us as a viewer in the last 7 odd months .. to many it may seem rushed .. .yes it was .pressures of a new time band ..et all .. but in such a small amount of time to deliver on the promise was indeed brilliant ..

The script did take a FULL CIRCLE TODAY .. the story of Raman & Ishita started when each of them said .. they would marry .. but there would be no relations between them .. today ... every relation of theirs is JOINED ..
Its ironical how life has moved a full circle for these two .. the slate is wiped clean ... now all they need to do is CRAFT THEIR OWN LOVE STORY IN THEM ... 😳

GUD NITE .. A PROMISE OF A ROCKING EPISODE ON MONDAY .. do rest up on sunday .. do remember we can now enjoy YHM on 2 time bands ..7:30 pm & 11:00 pm ..

Catch u in the forum ..

ENJOY THE PRECAP .. heres the link

Hey Ruby fabulous post as always sweetheart

Sigh I have so much going on my head with this show honestly its like my mind is overtaken by it especially last night' wonderful, wonderful episode. What acting, what screenplay and such amazing dialogues - I rarely say this when it comes to Indian TV shows but - I AM A PROUD YHM FAN.

A new day, a new time slot and now we would finally see Ishita and Raman start a new chapter of their lives, get a new beginning... because with the week gone by, things ended, wrapped up and got a closure - the motive of the track, the reason behind a fallen woman' desperate attempts that made her play games with a gullible, fallible woman - a woman who somewhere in her heart seeked to know just this one thing - that she has a future, a chance at love again especially when for the first time her husband romanced her, let her have a glimpse into his heart, his mind without words let her know of his desires, his feelings just in the way he held her, kept on coming to her over and over again when they danced... in the way he looked at her - not hiding or masking his passions for the first time.

What could finally allow that woman who was played a chance at that future - knowing her husband is over his past, that he has closed that chapter of his life behind him and in due time will make a new beginning with her. What made the fallen woman play those games - a chance to have a shot at a new beginning in her life too, which would be possible only if she can find her roots again - somehow get the one person who was the collateral damage of her actions to forgive her - seek closure from him for her actions, her deeds.

Two women linked to one man both as different as chalk and cheese - day and night - both ultimately hoping and seeking the same thing - closure - one so that she may start her life, their life anew with him; the other so that her existence may get a validation.

How beautiful is it if you look at it in hindsight, the way this entire thing actually was laid to rest. Life came a full circle indeed when Raman asked Mihir to put his and their past behind him, to start anew and be at peace, give the woman who led to them coming together a closure in his heart and mind and in his life.

"Aap apne dil mein uske liye koi nafrat mat rakho, koi pyaar mat rakho, koi gussa mat rakho, koi feelings koi ehsaas mat rakho."

These were her words to him on a night when they added another bookmark in their story, another milestone in their journey, it was the night Ishita managed to win over Raman once again as she made a place for herself as the mother of BOTH his kids, not just one.

With those words Raman heard from Ishita what no one said to him so far - respect Shagun, let go of all your emotions for her... she asked him to forgive her without saying the words and by extension she asked him to STOP hurting himself, so long as he isn't at peace with himself, he will be miserable and that is what was the point of respect Shagun agenda... allowing Raman his chance to heal.

On hearing them his immediate reaction was shock, amazement, awe, wonder and even humor - the words so foreign to him made him laugh and cry almost all at the same time. That night he cried in front of her because she did the unexpected - she understood him, she supported him - a first for Raman. He never had that before even with the woman he loved once and hence cried, though he tried to hide it... and he finally acknowledged once the tears were wiped away, she seems samajdaar to him - the words spoken in a lighter way, as jesting but they were an admittance! Someone finally understood him and that, THAT defeated him somehow... the fact that someone saw through him at last! And her reply she was born intelligent - it was her reply in a subtext - try me, talk to me, I can help you, understand you... but you have to let me in for any and all of that.

The same woman being human erred, in not trusting her husband and believing a stranger' words which led to the showdown that finally let the cat out of the bag. Yes she was wrong but what made her commit that mistake? Somewhere this was Raman' own actions and deeds coming to bite him back... the accident track - once he learned of the truth he sat on it and didn't disclose the truth to Ishita influenced by Shagun, granted she is Adi' mom but it should never have been her call to make what Raman should or shouldn't tell to Ishita... this experience plus Raman' brushing aside her questions made her want to jump the gun and believe the worst...

She asks him things - why he chose to defend Shagun and when she said he still loves her, he remained quiet, when they talked on the bench the other night she asked him to be polite with her as his anger still speaks of his pent-up feelings for her... again he chose not to deny nor confirm things... she wants to believe he has moved on from Shagun... and while he shows signs like the nameplate thing... it didn't make her believe getting over Shagun is equivalent to him falling for her.

Even the first romantic gesture he made towards her with that dance came on the heels of Shagun taunting Ishita and making a mockery of their marriage... a woman who compromised for the sake of a child and got married to a man was now taking the journey of actually becoming his wife - she started falling for him consciously now which made her dread each and every step of the way - so far all the feelings they developed were nascent, subconscious but three moments really woke her up - Aisa socha hi nahi ki woh mere pati hai, the first time she understood she has began accepting the man too and as a partner, her husband, her other half; the second happened in the shower and later in the bedroom - where she was shy and blushing reminiscing the effect they had on each other.. their underlying sexual tension coming to the fore and finally facing them and last one the dance post which she really started putting her heart into them on a very conscious level, she MADE the choice and was happy about it but on the heels of that moment came this shock and a woman who was finally ready to give love and her marriage a shot withdrew and got angry making her throw those tantrums have that anger fit.

She, who was already fighting with one demon - a woman who would always have something that she would never have with her husband - a child of theirs, lashed out when she thought... that there are more skeletons in his closet than I knew... what made her dread things even more - what if in the future he seeks out another one just like he seeked Sanjana to replace Shagun in the past - someone to replace me... somewhere - the half woman overpowered the rational one who didn't want to trust another man with her heart - allow him the power to hurt her.

She decided to distance herself from him BUT it hurt her no less to do so and hence she cried when she said she would not speak to Raman, ever. Though this being Ishita... she thought she would do the right thing - and hence she chose to invite over the stranger who was an impostor.

What seemed like her foolishness when she believed in the story of Raman having another past made her say the words she did - that is an old matter now, you broke your ties with your sis because of Raman now let bygones be bygones - her words though rang truer than anyone could have predicted when Raman Bhalla himself said things on the same lines to the one person who suffered just along with him when his marriage fell apart - the one person who stood by him and supported him as a shadow, becoming his silent shoulder..after the woman who once acted as his guiding light tried to help his shadow too, but of course the one person whose words mattered to the shadow were of the man who he idolized, whom he worshipped practically... so what could but happen next?

The man who is his mentor, his elder brother and father figure - who finally had figured out his way in life thanks to the woman who came in it, held the hands of his shadow and guided him towards the same way and to do so, he let him know something which the woman who was a silent spectator to the duo overheard too - that he has MOVED ON, he has forgiven Shagun and that today in fact he rather pities her, feels sorry for her desperation, for today even when she is being greedy and malicious he sees her motives which are of a woman who is clutching onto the last straw that might help her, save her - and that straw is him, her brother... someone she discarded almost entirely years ago from her life... she needs that same man because at the end of the day he is family and hence her last and only resort - to start a new one, one for which she destroyed the one she had.

That in doing this one thing he might finally be rid of all his anger, animosity and hatred just like he has.

He wanted his brother to know the same bliss and peace he found in forgiveness and in cleansing himself of all those negative things he has begun seeing the joy in his life again - and why shouldn't he? He has it all today - a wife, kids, family that includes everyone around him, success - everything a man could possibly want - he lacks for nothing.

And with that burden off their chests, the brothers cried and embraced - cos of course the shadow who was scared of losing himself learned it could never be so - he is a part of Raman, his family and of course the woman who showed him the light again stands to be a reason they would be connected - as Mihir marries her sister...they would be brothers- in-law still - the names changing but the emotions remain the same nonetheless.

In their tears a brother who was abandoned found solace, a man who was wronged gave forgiveness and the woman who stood party to their conversation finally shed the last vestiges of doubts that made her guard her heart, that made her want to not give in - because this time she had no excuse, no option but to acknowledge the goodness of the man who is her husband, to understand all that she thought in that one moment of her losing her calm was the irrational fear of a panicked woman - the man standing before her embracing his brother is someone worthy of respect, admiration, someone who doesn't abandon anyone, someone who she is proud to call her own... her Raman - the journey from Meri Pati to Mere Raman - from admitting and acknowledging the relationship to accepting the man from the bottom of her heart.

Before I end this post I have to mention this - the title - it reminds me of a scene from the same movie - when Tabu' dad says he never had to teach his daughter things about their culture or values - she imbibed them all on her own - he failed to understand it before but couldn't until now - cos she was meant to become a part of this family ...somehow those sentiments ring true for Mihir as well today - who chose to follow the path of righteousness for his adopted family, because of a man he looked up to rather than succumb to the lure of his own flesh and blood - why because somewhere even he was meant to fit in this puzzle of the Iyer- Bhalla clan, somewhere his journey, his trials were integral to the coming together of Ishita and Raman Bhalla - time and again - as they had their first moment of attraction that was subdued when they were caught up in the rains after Ishita saw Raman' goodness for the first time when the man who had fought with her, insulted her moments ago saved her from thugs to this moment where she once again saw the same man, now her husband in a new light - in a way that made her love him even more than she did before and admit it to herself for the first time - he is hers.

^^

No idea how coherent this all is... I am amazed and stumped to see an Indian show be so awesome - in terms of writing and Acting - a daily at that, a Balaji one 😆

Now where and, more importantly, how do I start? I can go on saying , this is fantastic, amazing, mindblowing, eye opening etc. but then whatever I say or write about your thought process will not be enough..

Starting with the title of the post -I, for one, am glad you didn't call it Shadows - to me it's a bit brooding and lingering - and yesterday was more about breaking free. But yes, one can never get rid of his shadow.
Instead I loved how you started the post speaking about sunshine and light just for the progressiveness and hope it depicts

You have perfectly worded the journey of a man from darkness to light.

Darkness - by definition- is simply, the absence of light. But then there is no stopping light. It just needs a little opening to fill you and open your eyes to what is around you.
A man who was forcing himself to live in a dark tunnel when light was beckoning him, a beacon he was not ready to embrace for his own good. He has seen light today. Finally!

The words you wrote --
He looked around at the carcass of a dead past... & wondered why did he hold on to it ... all he could see behind him was DARKNESS.. & then he looked up .. .& looked at the STROKE OF LIGHT .. A STROKE OF SUNSHINE ... THE pure radiance of TRUTH shown out of that light .. the light which showed him the way ...
--pitch perfect and very deep. So love you for that.

My 2 (se zyada 😛) cents on this

Looking back at the whole track -
It started with Shagun being provoked about not having a family. A family which she broke up for her own desires, on her own will. The woman that she is, grabbed the opportunity with both hands, just to fulfill her selfish desires
Did she think about?
1. Her brother - whose marriage she stopped for her own benefits
2. Her son - whom she left alone in the night worried more about her marriage and her status (yeh shaadi nahin hui to mere status ka kya hoga)
3. Her ex - whose life she had already made miserable by using their son against him
4. The woman who saved her honor on the rainy night, which could have ended in a disaster otherwise.

She thought ONLY and ONLY about herself, which was evident from her rant yesterday. She is another soul, who wants to live in darkness thinking that it is light.
Because, for her what glitters OUTSIDE is light in direct contrast to Ishita who has so much light INSIDE her that she glitters even in the dark

If not wasn't for this one woman ISHITA, Raman would have never seen light and more importantly see himself in light.
He would have never seen the love and angst of his parents, who saw him suffer everyday -out of rejection, out of guilt for pampering his -then - wife beyond repair and thus destroying his life.
Never seen the yearning of his daughter - who ONLY and ONLY wanted his love. Nothing else.
He had begun to destroy every relation because of one.

Now he has rebuilt all of them and more solidly AGAIN, because of ONE relation. The relationship with Ishita, his wife.
He has, in fact, got more. A family, the Iyers, who understands him and will stand by him through thick and thin. A lot more people to lean on. A lot more people to share with.
So what he lost has returned to him, doubled.

A little bit of her sensibility - in him.

On the rainy night, she heard about her husband from his ex. She knew what she had done to him but still that didn't stop her from helping a lost soul.
No. It is not being MAHAAN. It is just being Human.
Because that's what she is. A simple one. One who doesn't manipulate or play games, use relationships, instead values them more than her life.
She is always ready to forgive and forget and let go.

She has gone through a broken heart. To many it may seem it was not a big deal compared to Raman's ordeal. But how can one judge that. Pain and heartbreak are the same. What makes it APPEAR simple is the way you deal with it.
She made it appear simple, because she wanted it to.

There are 2 ways to deal with a problem. Head on or run away. Ignoring it is only a stop gap arrangement. One will have to take a decision one fine day

If you remember, in the earlier episodes, Subbu's name and his mother's taunts would break her. But she used to think about her parents then. She understood that she would break them even more if she breaks down. She dealt with the problem head on.

While Raman took the opposite route.

She had told him to be nice to his ex- because she was the mother of his children, and they are the ones who mattered to him more than his ex. He technically agreed to her words but not psychologically.

During the accident track, they talk about the rains and she says how the rain will settle the dust and things will be clearer. While he says, some of us are weak and implies maybe they prefer to live with the dust around them. She says to herself, she will wait for that day while he thinks to himself that he will bare his heart to her one day.

In your last post I had written
"The dance in the rain is again symbolic to washing away all her fears. To tell her not to get bogged down by others comments on their life.
A cleansing of the soul to start afresh. Start together"

But connecting this I had a totally new perception. I felt, the dance in the rain was more for him. To clear the dust. Yes he guided her, he gave her what she wanted, but it was the dust around him that got settled, because she was with him
The rains that she had waited for had arrived and that day he, albeit unknown to self, showed her what she meant to him. The dialogues post that too seem more in that sense to me now. She had talked about a moment which she will remember for a life time, while he talked about having a lifetime full of such memories

With the dust settled, he was able to see his ex in a totally new light. He was able to see her frustration and her anguish. Yes he was disgusted with her for the person she is. Disgusted that she hurt all the people close to his heart, disgusted that she had manipulated a woman who helped her when she was alone out there on the street, alone in life. But that didn't stop him from seeing the truth.

Today he has psychologically accepted what Ishita had told him on the night of the party
And the biggest proof of that was, HE explained that to Mihir, his ex's brother

Again a little bit of her understanding - in him

The scene in the balcony both between Ishita and Mihir and Raman and Mihir were equally poignant

First - the whole exchange was in a balcony - a place from you can see things which you may not be able to see from the ground. A place to rise above and view. Good Job by CVs again 👏

There - A sister stopped her brother from falling. She asks him to move ahead. Heal his wounds and for that first stop scarring yourself. She taught him a beautiful lesson, a lesson that her husband also learnt
You explains to him with an example he can completely relate to- you love your brother and what is love - nothing but an ability to reach out to your loved ones, an ability to nurture and grow. The most powerful resource to live.
You need not love someone who hurt you but you need not keep hating and hurting them (and self by that) and stop loving people around you. Love and forgiveness go hand in hand.
A choice had to be made. To progress in life for someone you love or to remain chained in disdain for some who hurt you.
Which one is more important to live in peace.
Punishing someone is not the answer to hurt. Mercy is.

A quote by Mahatma Gandhi - The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.

She wanted her brother to be strong. Another lesson for her husband who was listening to this exchange.
A little bit of her strength- in him

This exchange witnessed by her husband shook him. He realized that he actually has moved on. He accepts the fact.
And hence is able to guide the person -who knew him best, his mirror, who stood by him through the toughest phase of his life - during his mental agony. Release him from the burden they both were equally shouldering.

THEY need to set things right for their future. No one else can do it.

Today he realizes he actually has everything and everyone he needs to live a blessed life. He realizes it's time to come to terms with his past. Time to stop harboring on it.

Ek Rishta toota. Ek Jud gaya. Do you live the one life that you have for the broken ones or the loved ones.
He needs to make a choice. Deal with the problem head on.

A little bit of her sense- in him

He in fact understands the status quo of his ex - better now. He has sympathy for her. For a second he forgets he is talking about his ex. He talks about a woman. A human being.

A beautiful line from one of my all time favorite series -

Do not pity the dead, Harry. Pity the living, and, above all those who live without love. - J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

A little bit of her empathy- in him

He also says she is the mother of his children. He knows that that relation can never be broken.
Again this is a line which Ishita tells Bala. Divorce is between a couple. Not between parents.
And she tells Raman when he admonishes her for bringing Shagun to his house. He in fact tells her Ishita is Ruhi's mom and not Shagun

Ishita knows that she is Ruhi's Mom in every sense but cannot ignore that Ruhi is because of Shagun. She even explains that to, HER daughter, Ruhi when she is heartbroken
The fact that Shagun will always be Ruhi and Adi's biological mom doesn't imply that Ishita is less important.
Infact Shagun has given only her DNA to Ruhi, while Ishita has given her entire self to the child.
Her heart, her soul, her values. She beautifully says in that scene, that tho God put Ruhi in Shagun's womb but wove her(Ruhi) in her(Ishita's) heart
So how does saying Shagun is Ruhi's mother, belittle her. Infact it raises Ishita's level above Shagun (will post on that later)

Raman today explicitly says that. One cannot run away from that fact. He understands had something happened to Shagun that night, it was Raman who would have felt guilty for not helping her. And that's because Raman is what he is. A righteous man and Ishita's action only saved him from falling in his own eyes had something untoward happened.

He explains to Mihir to live and let live. Let Shagun be at peace with what she wants. To let go off the past. CLOSE the chapter.

A little bit of her understanding and practicality- in him

She says that he is not Shagun's Raman but her Raman

Again this is not from a "he's my husband now" point of view. It is about the change in Raman as a human being.
A change in a person filled with prejudice and hatred to a person who understands and empathizes.
A person who is ready to be loved and love in return.
Something that she saw deep within him, something which was hidden behind what Shagun had made him show to the world.
Now all will be able to see that part of him. Because of her

She could now fall in love with him with total submission and getting the same if not more, in return.
She will also get a little bit of him In her
Again only a little. A little that will take them far ahead in life. In LOVE...which they have to discover together. But the wheels have been set in motion.

***EDITED

Ruby ... one line in your entire post stands out ... It is ...

This post is dedicated to SONALI JAFFAR ... take a bow lady ... u delivered in spades ... & a humble thank u ...

Absolutely true ... my entire thought is dedicated to this woman ... today .. my brilliant goes to her ... only and only to her.

If I have to summarize the entire episode in one word ... it will be LETTING GO.

If we pause a bit and look into yesterday's episode, we will see that the entire thought behind each and every scene is Letting Go.

Before I begin to say something about this series ... as always, let me bring my personal perspective into my writing ... it is about letting go. Letting go is not always between a couple or lovers ... letting go can happen between any kind of relationship.

I am one of those unfortunate souls who had to let go and do a preclosure to one of the most cherished relationships in this world. I had to let go of my relationship with my mother when I lost her in my teens. I was not with her when she took her last breath and it damaged me to the core. I am ready to sell my soul any day to hold her just one more time, to at least get to say good bye to her. But numerous sleepless nights could not change the fact that it cannot be changed.

So the only option in front of me to LET GO, to mourn and do a closure to this relationship as I had a younger sister to look after who was in worse condition than me.

I did say my parting words to her in my thoughts, cried all alone and refused to remember the bad phase when she was ill. Instead, I now always remember our happier times when my family was full. This did not happen in a day. I worked on it and it took me years to master the art. Cannot say I am perfect at that but I work on it EVERY SINGLE DAY.

My whole point of entire ranting is to explain the meaning of Letting Go. I skimmed through the forum and I read something like how can he suddenly let go .. is it a Eureka moment ... you NEVER let go in a second ... you simply make a decision and work on it ... and the peace which get in return cannot be explained ... it can be just felt.

Coming down to the actual episode. I said this entire episode was dedicated to Letting Go. Each and every character in this episode let go whether it was about the per-conceived notions, their past, their anger, their anguish, or anything else.

If we look at the major participants in the entire drama today, they were:

  • Raman
  • Ishita
  • Mihir
  • Mihika
  • Shagun
  • Bhallas
  • Iyers

I think pretty much everyone is covered in the points above. Now let me explain what everyone let go in this entire drama galore yesterday.

Let me begin from the bottom. Iyers and Bhallas. Two distinct families with diametrically opposite cultures, from a diametrically opposite directions of one country.

India, a cultural heaven with numerous values, dynamics, traditions, rituals, values ... all so different, yet so similar. However, one thing which makes it different from the rest of the world is the importance of the family in Indian culture... and by family I mean the entire family not the usual nuclear setup which is characteristic of a western culture.

Don't you think this entire drama would have played out if Mihir and Shagun were not related ... No ... the entire reason for this drama was FEAR. Fear of Bhallas that will Iyer's accept Mihir as their son in law if they get to know that Mihir is related to Shagun, a UGLY woman to the core. Then there was Iyers. They were on a continual quest to find out about the past of Mihir so that they could ensure a secure future for their daughter.

All this played out because although everyone .. just everyone in the frame repeated time and again that Mihir is a part of Bhalla family and he has a family .. the heart still wanted to look for the real one ... in other case ... the heart still wanted to hide the real one.

So with this revelation, both the sides finally Let Go of one thing. FEAR. While Iyers stood tall as they let go of their fear of Mihir's hidden family and accepted Mihir with all his baggage as Amma affectionately called him his son in law, the Bhallas, finally let go of their fear that Mihir's past family will have an ill affect on his future.

And what did they get in return. Mihir was finally accepted in both the families as a part of them. In all true sense. Without any barriers, any conditions, any hidden agenda. Period. That is the beauty of letting go.

Shagun. Oh How I hate to write about this lady. If I could I would have skipped this segment and moved on to another part but as Raman said, you cannot appreciate the beauty of sunlight until you face sheer darkness. And darkness she is.

BUT LEKIN KINTU PARANTU. Did she Let Go of something. Yes, my dears. She did. She indeed let go of her faade, her pretense, her ego. She was all but a beggar who begged in front of his brother to lend her happiness ... well as Raman said ... everyone has a right to live their own life and they have a right to choose what makes them happy ... she finds happiness in a unreal life with Ashok ... so be it ...

So, Shagun the woman who cannot see anything beyond her own actually went down on her knees and begged her brother to accept her. Letting go of ego, pretense, faade. As I said, she gets her own set of happiness in return or so she thinks.

Mihika. A major player in the entire drama yet a mute spectator to this. She did not have one dialogue in the entire sequence yet if she was not present, will anything would have happened. I will love to see a follow up scene between Mihir and Mihika where she can complain to him that he needs to trust her and he could have trusted her with this, a step in the ladder of Mohabattein. Amen to that thought.

What did she let go. She let go of her pretense about her Macho man. Remember the conversation between the two sisters where she said why does my Mihir act so macho all the time, he needs to become sensitive like my jeeju. Don't we always say that our partner knows our real self ... so while we were mocking that how could a tame Mihir be macho ... she had looked beyond the surface Mihir and had found out the real anger ridden, OCD Mihir who was carrying baggage of this past.

She tried to reunite his family with him by bringing Sanjana into the party ... thinking that the problem lies only at the surface ... however, with the entire revelation of Shagun and Mihir and of course PP ... She finally gets the real picture. While all the others are indirectly effected by this revelation ... she is a direct participant to all this. She has to knowingly enter this swamp all the time making sure that she holds on to the hand of his Macho man tightly and never let him slip even once. And she has to do that while maintaining her own balance.

So her letting go is the biggest. Her pretense that this problem is one-dimensional .. no she finally realizes that this is a multi-dimensional and she needs to do the perfect balancing act if she wants to sustain.

Only, what she gets in return makes her jump into it without a second thought. She gets her Mihir .. her mohabattein which is enough to do this for a life time.

Mihir. Raman. Ishita I have to write about all of them together because after yesterday's episode, it really makes them inseparable. They are victims of same crime, the wounds are may be different but the pain is not less in either case.

I am sorry to blow my own trumpet but in my maiden venture "An Ishra SS: Sirf Tumhare Liye - Final Part page 13"

I had carved a special bond between Mihir and Raman. I had written there was a reason that Mihir had a special place in Raman's heart. Last episode made me proud as a writer that I was able to touch that part way before it was actually shown.

Coming back to the episode, the conversation between both of them will stay with each YHMian forever ... and I for sure can vouch that I may end up watching this scene more than the rain dance scene for the sheer brilliance of it.

Letting Go. Raman. Could it be better than to hear from the horse's mouth? A man who was at the center of all this and went through a devastation which had catastrophic results, yet finally today, he was able to see the bigger picture and let go or decides to let go. I am sure there will be instances where he returns to his old self. It cannot be helped. He is human not a robot. Yet a decision he made today will bring him back to his normal self after a minimal self battle, something he has never even attempted before.

I loved the fact that he said that whatever happens, that woman is my children's mother and I cannot accept that her name is bad mouthed by the society because it affects my children. Will this man shed a tear when Shagun eventually leaves this world in future? I bet he will because he shared something beautiful with this woman at one point of time; albeit for a small period ... BUT .. it was beautiful and honest at least for him.

So, he refuses to go back in the bad era, mourns and gives a closure to his relationship and indirectly finally divorces this woman. He tells her brother, let her live her life the way she wants, we were not meant to be and nothing can change that.

This brings me to another beautiful conversation between Ishita and Mihir. She says Mihir should forgive Shagun. I know a segment of forum is angry on the fact that how could she act so MAHAAN ... I will like to say .. this sentence bowled me over.

This is what will eventually heal Mihir. Remember, she says a brilliant follow up line. She asks him to forgive her, not be at the same equation as they were once. My Mom used to say, anything can be repaired in this life, but trust once broken cannot be mended. True to the core.

The above instances reiterate the fact that we all live in a grey world.

The trust and sanctity between the siblings has been brutally broken. It cannot be repaired but the pain can be lessened by letting go, by giving it a proper closure. Otherwise, it will sooner or later, affects Mihir's future relationship with his wife, his children and so on so forth. Beautiful.

Mihir. It is said that a boy always looks up to his father as his ideal. This boy never got this chance as fate took his father from him at an early age. But the same fate smiled on him when Raman walked into his life, an elder brother, a father figure, a protector, a guardian all in one ... no wonder he worships the very ground his brother stands on.

What massacre it would be to see his own brother suffer at the hands of someone whom he called as his own sister .. once. So, it is but obvious for him to be filled with angst, anger, frustration all at once. The way he breaks down in front of Ishita and says I never even got to know when I became a pawn in the hands of my own sister. Broken trust.

She tries to help him move on by letting go. Reminded me of the after party conversation between Raman and Ishita when she asks Raman to let go and he is moved to tears. He has from that day tried, a conscious effort, only yesterday proved to be the final nail in coffin.

And now, he finds his own little brother, someone who is like a son to him, go down the same path of destruction as he had subconsciously once ended up in. He has to save him from this darkness so he immediately becomes a father figure and authoritatively asks him to look into his eyes while he speak. Eyes. A mirror of our own self, they are able to convey the biggest of emotions and messages which words can never even think of. He opens his heart to him and tells him that you do not need to be guilty for what was not in your control. I have moved on and am happy in my space. Now, it is time for you to move on and accept happiness without the crutches of any baggage behind you. So, forgive and move one. And remember, forgiving does not mean forgetting. It means I refuse to be bothered about something.

Mihir's dialogue what will happen to me if I let Shagun marry Ashok. He is very well aware of the fact that this family is a borrowed one and as soon as last bit of thread is broken, he will actually become an orphan. Sometimes, our mind needs reassurance that we are not alone. A pat on the back, a hug, a sentence like I am here is needed. Raman, provides him that solace that what if you are no more related to my via Shagun .. you are now my sister in law's husband. You are very much a part of my family.

And what does Mihir get in return by letting go. Believe me, he has his hands full by his one gesture of moving on. He finally gets a family. He is no more an orphan. Full acceptance from both the clans. He gets his lost relationship of his sister. Ishita and Mihir. The rakhi bond comes true when the rakhi sent by the real sister is tied on his hand by the sister who has proved to be his real sister in more ways than one. And, of course, he finally gets what he has been yearning all this while. He gets his Mohabbatein, his Mihika, no baggages, no hidden secrets ... just sheer bliss.

The final bit. Raman and Ishita. Of course, the discussion cannot be completed without the most important of the lot.

That Raman finally let go of Shagun is self-explanatory. I will not go there. Everyone knows that. I will like to focus on his stance when this entire revelation is done. He sits in the corner as a mute spectator, later he overhears and only shouts at Shagun for Mihir. His stance was of a person who is carrying a guilt with him, a person who thinks that he may have indirectly ruined the life of his brother. His past may ruin his brother's future irrevocably.

He rushes to Iyers to sort out this mess. As soon as he gets to know that they accept Mihir wholeheartedly, he breaks down. How many times have we seen this man break down .. that too in front of such a big audience ? He finally finds a closure to his guilt. His past could not ruin his brother's future and this is what makes him happy.

I know some people in the forum were anticipating a big showdown between Ishita and Raman after Sanjana fiasco ... BUT ... it is safe to say I anticipated something like this as I had seen this guilt in his stance yesterday. Remember, Ishita's convo about him being sensitive. He is a sensitive man and a broken one at on top of it ... his Ravan Kumar mode is a faade ... yesterday, it was Happy Bhalla who had wanted love and solace and was scared to death to see the life of his brother being turned upside down in front of his eyes. Take a bow Sonali.

Ishita. "Aaj mere saamne Shagun ke Raman nahi, MERE RAMAN khade hai." Do I need to say anything else? She finally let go of her misconception that her husband carried a torch for his ex-wife. Her eyes during the Tikka ceremony were a giveaway. I can write an essay about this but that will definitely take the beauty from the line which changes the course of direction between both of them.

If you have reached this far, am sure you will surely understand that what do Raman and Ishita get in return by letting go of their own pretenses.

Falling in Mohabbatein with Yeh Hai Mohabbatein with each passing moment.

P.S.: I am also putting this post separately in the forum as after my Yearning OS, this piece gave a me a creative satisfaction while writing 😳😳.

Redwine loved ur post as usual 😳 love Sonali Mam for this story I will be honest that I actually like Serial Ishita more than novel Ishita. 😆

The problem here is not writing but the way Ishra journey and transitions takes place. 😉 i m sure this is how cvs have thought of, obviously TRP race is the thing they need to take care of if they want to b in this business.

I get the point that Ishra had to sort out their past before moving ahead but Ishitas transition from Believing Sanjana an episode earlier to "Aap mere Raman hogaye ho" in yesterdays episode, I felt like they should have had something more to be chewed on there. Just by hearing Ramans changed thoughts about his past she concurred that finally he has moved on, what if he has moved on from Shagun but not thinking about Ishita. What if Raman was just saying all those things to Mihir just to calm him down n accept his past?

I hope that they show clarifications at least on Monday. Btw I liked Raman Mihir scene 😳

Hello there... First of all A round of applause for such a WoNderFul post 👏👏👏 You have explained the Episode very beautyful and i enjoyed reading your post more then watching the episode... loved the way you explained the deapth of each and every dilouge by Raman.. Ishita or mihir.. i am very happy to hearing Aaj Aap "Mere Raman" ho gaye ho frm ishita's mouth.. finally she knows that Raman has moved on of his past... and Raman his dilouge "I want a clouser on past" this one line says everything about his feelings... he is ready to start a freash and want to put fullstop on past.. he want a Freash start of his life with his wife as he said once that "He and ishita will make there new memoreis together" and Raman is already on the way to make new memories with his ishita there " Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" Moment a beautyful memory... which he wants to keep btween only two of them :) any third person strictly not allowed btween them... well as a Ishra fan i want many such cute sweet moments ishra.. and i think after this incident both raman and ishita ready to step forward in there relation... at the end i will say Karan Patel And Raj singh Arora had done great job brilliant perfomance by both of them.. but still Karan Patel Steal the Show with his OUTSTANDING Perfomance 👏👍🏼

I think i didnot wait to see the episode this much. I am waiting to read ur post. I am damn sure that i didnot understand the mahaanta episode much and hence waiting eagerly:)))

I am not getting why Raman said that shagun is mother of his 2 kids when he reiterated the same fact many times that ISHITA is his kids mom. First of all they showed ishitha as a dumb person by making her believe a random person. And i should mention about shagun and your post in which you mentioned shagun is in the centre of all this. Wow!!! You have analysed this very well and much ahead only and i got it today. A huge applause to you!!!! ⭐️
