Well Ruby we can agree to disagree 😛
What I find in character is that selfless urge to be altruistic, to help someone in need
What I don't find in character is her taking decisions alone while being inconsiderate of other's (her loved ones) feelings in the process. Here I am talking of bringing Param home and then Shagun
In the Bala case and her license being revoked, yes it's true she first tried to solve it herself without taking Raman's help but then Ruby the matter at hand was more about herself or her side of family and the actions she has taken then didn't have an huge emotional impact on other people
It was much more on the scale of not sharing one's OWN problems with spouse
Saving Ruhi was another matter because there was an urgency. Her not being able to inform Bhallas, I saw as convenient writing and cinematic liberty that can be looked over, technically can be brushed aside. At least, once in hospital, she tried contacting them...
Marry a man to save a child from abuse was extremely naive but there I saw her decision more of her giving to the urge of officially getting tied for life with that child that she has instantly fallen in love with. To succumb to one's deep desire was not so hard to digest for the audience
On bringing param and then Shagun home it was not only her problem or Raman's but the family as a whole. In both cases, there were not such an urgency that would justify her not consulting with anyone. Again as I have already said I have never seen her be so callous, insensitive with people she loves. Point to be noted she WAS mindful of Iyers but NOT of the Bhallas...
Here I am talking as an average viewer. Realistically showing an otherwise strong, level headed, educated woman bringing home her rapist and her husbands ex wife is not palatable for the masses. We can't relate to that, her self righteousness is just not digestible. There's a limit to cinematic liberties IMO.
I think it can't be a coincidence that the audience have reacted so strongly, couldn't take Ishita's latest actions (since bringing param home) People have been commenting here that their parents, even though being TRP's target and watching all silly shows and tracks, were thinking that Ishita is being unrealistic, oversmart, overconfident. I am no professional in media field but surely something is hugely wrong...
