Mysha ...
have no words to express what ur post has made me feel .. what an absolutely wonderful analysis ...

I think Balaji shud peep into the forum & see the talent here which is interpreting their serial in such a beautiful way ... its commendable ..

Thank u for sharing this here really ... brilliant & beautiful beyond words ..

I had somehow missed this portion so thnx for putting this up ...

Like u i am also enamoured by the story of 2 damaged people who come together to make a whole ..
Ur right Ishita in many ways is damaged beyond repair ... but i guess she was damaged simply by a man who couldn't accept her as HALF A WOMAN .. the day Raman accepts this side of her ... this journey will be blissful ..

for me the 2 high points of the serial will be the talk on PAST .. & the talk of Ishita's insecurity ... Unfortunately a lot of people have really not got her character well .. she comes across as a perfectionist ... thats the dichotomy of the characterisation ... a woman who wants to do all that is RIGHT .. does it only cause she feels INADEQUATE in life ...

Everytime i think this i am in awe of the writers ... in a creative rendition & to such a wide & varied audience one is bound to have mistakes or unpalatable stuff ... but in the end its the beauty of the characterisations which keeps me spell bound to this serial ..

The layers left to be explored . the layers yet to be revealed ...

Am so glad & elated to be part of such a lovely & deep discussion .. thnx a ton

LOL Ruby. Well you and I will never agree on this I guess so better we agree to disagree.🤗

Lol I still find it funny that here we try to find reason for it to be Ok in Ishita's pov to put Shagun on the bed. If Raman would have been the one to do the same thing, no one would have tried to justify him. He would have been term as an insensitive jerk and I would have agreed.
Again people there is sanctity of marriage, whatever the state the relationship is in. Basic common sense. Both should abide to it. Raman should have not gone on picnic with Shagun like Ishita should not have put her on bed. No justification.

Why are we looking only from accident track? In past Ishita has been shown having no objection of physical intimacy (passing notes scene, rice scene in bathroom) with Raman and that too when the two of them just barely started being friends!! Then too she was damaged and then too Raman was his taunting self. Their respective past was there then too. Again lack of continuity and sense as the both of them now are far from being just friends, they feel far more for the other but those feelings of Ishita have disappeared with the wind and we are faced with a chee Ishita, a content bahu, mother, sis in law having not one thought on where she wants her marriage to go. A dense as a woman Ishita. Many on forum have pointed this out. How can one live all his/her life like that? Is it even believable.
I agree that both need to make the relationship work. Each should make efforts. But here Ruby it's only Raman who is working on it! He has been the one initiating most if not all of the change of status in their relation. Ishita has been passive so in my opinion it's only fair that she should join him in the middle of the street.

Coming back to the accident track -

yes she saw him with Shagun on his arms. He pushed her to question him, to abuse him, she has the right to be angry. At that point when she kept mum, he said to her there is nothing to do with Shagun, matter concerns Adi.

Yes she saw him going with Shagun on picnic but he was not hopping in joy. In fact Ruby technically there WAS a long backward glance. They kept looking at each other with sad BG going on 😆 On the way he phoned her to keep her updated and she her joy and faith in him were reaching the sky. I am not making this up Ruby, it's what was shown...

At end of accident track - Ishita was MAHA RELIEVED that her reading of him was not wrong. It was proven that all that has happened was for ADI and never about Shagun. It was emphasized on her dialogues and expressions how much at peace she was then to know that he only did what he did for his son. Again not me but the show which has stated this...

My point is that if it's true he has not defended his association with Shagun during the track, it was answered at the end of it.

Yes I agree he has not said anything in those instances BUT how many times has he made it known he has at least NO ROMANTIC feelings towards his ex. How many times (in Ishita's presence) has he screamed at the top of his lungs how much he hates that woman, she is only his children's mother, that she is nothing to him, how many times has he HUMILIATED Shagun in front of all.

Now How many times he has shown Ishita how much important she is to him through words and actions. "I need you to complete me and be my strength", "you are my wife, I will never leave you", "we are happily married, we have two children", "we will make our own memories, me and you", "she (Shagun) has moved out of my heart". How many times has he been downright possessive, protective, caring, mesmerized by her, attracted to her? There were many instances. He claims himself her husband and her as his wife. Like I have said the only thing left for him to do is to say ILU otherwise through actions and other words he has made it clear how much she means to him and how he wants to make their marriage a real one.
Ishita HAS SENSED all this. She RECOGNIZES all this. She ACKNOWLEDGES all this.

His past and his present and what he thinks of it are glaringly obvious. Nothing is hidden.
The two sides of the coin are in plain view so it is not fair/erroneous to say that Ishita's feelings are based to only one of them.

I don't want to compare but what Raman got to see of Ishita's past to put a rest to his insecurity? What has she done to appease his insecurity? Nothing! There was ONE instance where she only said she has moved on. She said it only ONCE. In that scene she didn't even include him. She mentioned Ruhi and how much her life has brightened with her. She wasn't clear on what she thinks of him... But again that didn't deter a guy like Raman (rejected, deemed inadequate as husband and father) from working on his marriage, attempting to make it into real one based solely on that minuscule instant and what he has felt from her actions.

If her one "Subbu is out of my system" is enough for him, why his many "I hate this woman, she is NOTHING TO ME apart from (unfortunately being) the mother of my children" (also proven in actions) are not for her.

How is it Raman's fault if Ishita is only seeing what she wants to see, refuses to see the two sides of the coin? How fair it is to expect him to do all the work and come clean, be open first?

There are two people in a relationship. Again I firmly stand by Raman has been the one who has made all efforts to work on their marriage, make it progress! So IMO if she wants to be with him (which she does), it is high times she does her part and joins him in the middle of the way!!

Hi Ruby, Aani, Bhanu, Aeryn, and everyone else,

I have never posted on IF before, always been a silent reader, just recently created an account just to mention how much I admire your writing skills..In fact I really look forward to reading all the discussions on this much loved show..

Like every other topic of yours, Ruby, I thoroughly enjoyed this particular one, too, especially the wide array of discussions and interpretations that it brought up..Enough has been said about the night/silent scene between ISHRA, so I am not going to repeat it again..

Just wanted to post some of my observations here, though -

Observation # 1 : Notice the paintings on top of the bed in Ishra's room? Well, I have done it tons of times before, too, but my attention was drawn to them once again during this scene. There are three big frames with close-ups of ONLY Raman in each of them. That itself should be a clear indication about how big a gap these two need to bridge still. These frames need to show the pics of a happy ISHRA, and there is still a long time for that to happen 😉

Observation # 2 : The bg song in question during the night/silent scene, is a slow/soft version as the atmosphere during that particular scene was a sad one. But the wordings are the happy ones - "dil kahi rukta nahin, chalta hi jaaye teri oor, dil meri sunta nahin...saari fizaao mein hai, mehki hawaon mein hai, tera aur mera fasaana..janu mai bhi yeh..jaane hai tu bhi yeh..jaane yeh saara zamaana...kabhi kam na hongi yeh chaahtein..pal pal badhe yeh hai mohabbatein...". I think that's what we need to focus on, rather than the tempo :)

Observation # 3 : During that bg tune, Raman is shown to be restless in the beginning, when he gets up and paces in the living room in dark, then he is shown to be thinking, then by the time he goes to the balcony, he seems much calmer, strokes the plant and you can even see a hint of a smile...and while going back to the living room back from the balcony, he looks much more at peace..notice, like redwine mentioned, how he is sleeping peacefully on the couch in the morning when Param is talking to Ashok over the phone. I got the feeling that in the beginning he is shown to be restless thinking why doesn't Ishita still not have any "wifely" feelings towards him, why doesn't she feel even a wee-bit possessive about him in that respect? And then he calms and settles himself down, maybe with the thought that this is who his wife is, selfless, caring, generous, giving..a complete contrast of the woman sleeping on his bed at the moment...that's what makes her so unique and special...

Sorry for taking up so much space on your post Guess I got carried away..

Anyway, a big hello to everyone here!

Thank u Thank u Thank u ...

as a writer when u write something ... its not as detailed ...u flirt with thots ..u titilate with ideas ... & hope someone gets u ... i never write a full post ..hoping wit all the pointers i have made someone will get the crux of the episode or the message the writer was saying ...

I don't remember a time when someone has so completely got the episode or my post so accurately .. i can't thank u enuf for this post ...pls feel free to take as much space as u want ... u are so bang on ...& with very few words u have covered the depth of their relation to the T

I kept drawing attention to the fact ... that there was to much time spent on the BG ...if it was simple anger at both ends .. the time taken would be half ... the confusion is what the writer was trying to show ... the darkness in which Ishita sat & the illuminated balcony where Raman stood ...
Nothing cud have shown the chasm between these 2 better ...

If he was angry with her the next day u wud've got a angry Raman ...but what we got was a taunting Raman ..a raman who is normal ..he only really looses his cool once Ishita says Ruhi ki maa .. & finally when Ashok provokes him & insults his family & ishita ...

to understand the quiet introspection all one needs to do is see the next days episode ... & Raman's outburst post Ashok leaving ...if one focusses on the dialogs ..they will get the crux of the quiet introspection
