Is the show mocking tamil culture? - Page 4

even i thought the same Ishika is more into a Tamil Doctor of Metro city Delhi but, her mom is much more in the side of comical way Tamil character stereotype for sure...

Thats totally insane.. and I too agree that whoever is in the creative team, hasn't been doing a good job in researching about different cultures and their traditions..

I am not a tamalian therefore I cannot comment on the correctness of the accent etc...but I just love the acting of the actress who plays the mothers role. I feel she is doing it well. I do not feel this show is mocking any culture... It's better to treat serials as 'strictly for entertainment only' and enjoy them... 😊

I agree...especially ishu's mom does ott...irritating

I dont know much about tamil and punjab but for a me it sound funny even though i dont inderstand the accent

Why is that tamilians are always stereotyped in a comic way? Divyanka does not look tamilian. Her mother seems as if she mocks South Indians. Her language and accent is hideous! Nothing like tamil in real but more of mocking?

I totally blame the execution of the script. I find a lack of adequate research on tamil language, culture, dressing and proper implementation. Whoever on the creative team, are totally unprofessionals!

Why can we all be calm and enjoy the serial even with all it's short comings... People are stereotyped in movies, serial etc... There are jokes made on everyone be it North, South, East or West... Asians, Americans, Europeans... Marathi people are always shown as maids, for an example...etc etc we get daily forwards on facebook, watspp etc based on culture... So what??? Can't we just laugh it off?? Can't we learn to laugh on ourselves? We are all different to each other but this is what makes life more interesting... I never thought for once while watching that this serial was mocking any culture... Yes maybe there are a few mistakes in language or pronunciations... Because after all it's just a daily soap with actors... But how does it amount to 'mocking'...? It's in our hands to decide how much we want something to affect us... So let's not get caught in things like language, clothes, looks... We can either laugh out loud and move on or sulk an stay grumpy... LOL sounds like a better option!

well. its TV world. wat can one expect ? many shows dont do research while there are very few shows which do research before they start production, main theme of this show was two bring two people together and high light i donno unity ? or wat ever?
