THOUSANDS turned up at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka on Thursday for an opportunity to see one of India's most popular TV serial actresses Suhasi Dhami perform live for the first time in Fiji.

The actress, who has won the hearts of many ordinary Fijians through her role as Abha Prasad on the hit TV show Yahan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli, is scheduled to perform at a total of eight concerts in the country.

Show organiser Dharmend Shyam said about 4000 people turned up at the event to catch a glimpse of the Indian superstar.

"There was a live band and Ms Dhami was interacting with the crowd," he said.

Along with Dhami, Bollywood comedian Johnny Lever's brother Jimmy Moses is also in the country.

"Jimmy Moses was amazing.

"The crowd was really responsive and enjoyed the show.

"There was a very positive atmosphere throughout the night."

Dhami performed in Tavua yesterday before her scheduled performance in Rakiraki today.

"She will be performing in Labasa tomorrow."

He said the tickets were selling fast and he expected the number of people attending the shows to increase by the time they reach their final show in Suva.

Sigatoka Town came alive as Suhasi Gorada Dhami, better known as Abha', took the stage for the first time on Fijian soil on Thursday night.
Certainly it was a family affair for the majority that braved the chilly night and mosquitoes for the FmF Abha Live Concert at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.
It was worth every penny as a sellout crowd gathered, glued to their seat for the four-hour blockbusting performance of their heroine - Abha, the famous actress of Yahan Mai Ghar Ghar Kheli TV series on FBC TV.
The twilight event included the mimicry of comedian Jimmy Moses, who is the younger brother of Bollywood comedian Jonny Lever.
Local-based artists also made an impression with some brilliant numbers and the orchestra.
During her final appearance on stage, she did not mince her awards when addressing the crowd: "I am impressed with your presence tonight.
"I have never ever seen such a beautiful and large crowd before; you are such a wonderful crowd and thank for coming to watch the show.
"The hospitality you provided since the first day I came; ever since I was greeted with a warm reception; you are such a lovely people."
At the end she even sang the famous iTaukei number Isa lei Lia', which moved the crowd to roar once again.
When this edition went to press Tavua's Garvey Park was being taken by surprise as the FmF Abha Live Concert hit the gold town.
The next show will be at Penang High School, Rakiraki today and at Subrail Park in Labasa tomorrow.

wow really?😊
