PART III

The group of sages, monks and warriors along with a lady travels through the rough lands, stony hills, dense forests and vast riversides over the days, months and years. The Pandavas from their childhood days have experienced so much challenges of life that they are now mentally and physically fit for facing any kind of hardships. But for Draupadi it is totally a new, unique experience. Though the princess of Panchala had to bear with innumerable pain and agony in her life, but she is not so much used to physical stress so far. But their life as pilgrims has unsettled all the settled life. Her husbands and the fellow sages were quite worried about her health from the beginning. But Panchali, the fire borne princess once again proved her extreme self confidence and courage and is continuously accompanying the group with full energy and spirit. She very often stumbles, gets injury while walking on harsh lands but never complains anything. The Pandavas as usual remain extremely careful about her safety and time to time become over protective. Draupadi smiles within her, these powerful yet poor fellows perhaps donot know that the secret of her energy lies with their unmeasured love and concern for her. The fateful dice game stole from them all the happiness, trust and expectations of life. But this decision of travel and visit pious places of the Jambudwip seemed to regain those mutual conscience and confidence once again. The sacredness of the holy lands, the vast, refreshing openness of the nature and the company of the reverent personalities are enough to absorb all miseries and agony of human life. The Pandavas and their wife realize this truth of life now.

Though the Pandavas are all in hurry to visit almost all the holy places of the Jambudwip and to reach that destiny to meet Arjun again but the occasional seasonal changes especially during the rainy season restrain their journey. As it is extremely tough to travel then, the team has to wait for time to time in their temporary shelters. The sages and monks, however, manage to stay in either cages or some nearby villages and localities but the Pandavas cannot do so. They vowed at that dice game period that during their twelve years exile they would not enter into any locality. That's why they even could not go to the city of Dwarka. Draupadi's heart pounded with pain and frustration as she knew that her sons were then with the Yadavas in Dwarka. But she controlled all her motherly emotions with extreme effort. She had vowed to destroy those evil Kauravas for their innumerable offences and sins. To fulfill this she is preparing herself every moment and enduring all the hardships of life. From the luxurious life of a princess and a queen she has now become an ordinary woman covering herself with coarse, fade piece of garments. Every day she does her makeup not with perfume and sandal paste but with the dust of the roadside. Her soft feet are now jeweled with scars and injuries due to this long travel. But Panchali never repents for anything rather reminds her near and dears about this suffering, preparing everybody for that ultimate justice. Moreover she can also visualize the endless efforts of her husbands to make her comfortable. She knows that they are rough and tough enough to handle the complexities of the situation, but sometimes she feels pity for Nakul and Sahadev. She promised her mother-in -law to always take care of them. But now the reverse is actually happening. These twins have to bear her problems throughout the journey. Even now in this rainy season they have to shelter in either some small cave or in some quickly built temporary hut. Those tiny, meager arrangements of living have kept them so close to each other that the feelings of nearness appear with a new essence. It's not just like the conjugality of the couples, but something more. Without extreme physical intimacy it offers a kind of physical closeness. The four men and their beloved can sense each other's breath, rhythm of heart. The Pandava princes for so long have waited for this moment, to be with their love so closely, so deeply that all the miseries of life would have to disappear forever. Vasudev talked about the unique, exceptional brotherly bonding of the Pandavas. Draupadi now feels it properly. She knows that each of them desires her dearly but in spite of it, even in this close, intimate set up none of them forget their morality and responsibility. She feels so relieved now that she often let herself rest under the strong arms of her husbands or to pamper them with tender touch of her love. In the midst of all complexities, life after a long interval seems to be a refreshing, happy abode.

Recalling all the sweet memories of their togetherness, the four Pandavas with their wife begin their journey again. The road ahead seems to be more tough and hard to cover but they have to explore it. On the other side of the path perhaps Arjun is waiting for them with all his godly weapons and with him also a new dawn of hope, aspiration and dream of life. The group takes faster steps to reach the destiny. In front of them the mountain Gandhamadan now appears with all its majestic beauty. We have to go to the top of it, be careful and take care of your wife'----Sage Lomasha's voice brings back the others from the awestruck feelings of sensing nature's mystery.

As a writer , with utmost care you are defining the Epic character Draupadi , you precisely discerned the pain of a wife for going through all the hardships of forest life and travel , and most importantly her longing to see her kids and her misfortune for missing watching her kids' childhood mischiefs and their enduring growing process .

You understood fully well about Draupadi's state of mind in those recollecting moments of her past life's inner struggles , internal conflicts of this enigmatic woman's heartfelt feelings in an excellent way . Always love your style of writing

PART IV

STRANGE CHALLENGES, UNIQUE EXPERIENCES

The whole team at last reaches the majestic Gandhamadan Mountain. They have already realized the gradual change of weather and physical geography of the land. Chilled, icy breeze, pale grasses and long, stout trees and unknown, mysterious flavor of the soil and flowers are intensifying the gravity of the place. Everyone is sensing the breathlessness and a strange fatigue. The Pandavas being strong, young warriors with well built physique can manage the situation but the rest of the group is suffering serious problems. Especially Draupadi is in a very pitiful condition. Though she has never uttered a single word of pain and misery but her face expresses everything. Those lotus eyes, lustrous face has become colorless, taking short breath with hasty steps only ignites the tension of her husbands. The Pandavas are now taking rest more frequently to give her and the aged sages some rest and comfort. Yudhisthir has already requested the Brahmins and sages to withdraw from the journey because the path ahead seems to be tremendous tough. Though a number of Brahmins responded but still a number of aged sages including Lomasha, Dhaumya are contuing their journey along with them. Yudhisthir even tried to convince Panchali not to travel anymore and suggested her to stay with Bhim and Sahadev at the foothills but he had to give in. She refused to detach from any of her four husbands and was also desperately waiting for that warrior prince who had gifted her long, painful years of separation since their marriage.

The group took some rest, some meager food and started climbing the mountain. As usual Yudhisthir is leading the team followed by the sages. Nakul remains at the middle of the single queue to protect the Brahmins. Sahadev is carrying the foodstuffs and weapons of the Pandavas. Bhima is walking at the end with Draupadi. Already she is taking short breaths though she is trying her best to accompany the others bravely. She often loses her foot but Bhimsen's strong, mighty arms are always ready to give her quick support. To protect her and to give her some comfort he puts his arm around her slim waist. They are so close now that even can count each other's breath; Bhim can smell the exotic fragrance of Panchali's body. It has that power to make anyone mad with desire within a moment and Bhimsen enjoys this experience above everything of his life. But now in this tough, stiff rocky path he has to concentrate more on her safety and security. Draupadi can realize his condition well from the exciting movement of his hand around her waist. She conceals a little smile within her lips. Yudhisthir is not in a position to look at his back. Though he knows that Draupadi is extremely safe with Bhim but he cannot control his emotions always. He is a person with extra ordinary self control but only he knows that within this strong attire and image of Dharmaraj exists a vulnerable person who loves someone very dearly. Nakul and Sahadev are also in the same position. But in spite of it they are trying to interact with the others from time to time. Panchali is now tensed and anxious to see their childishness. She shouts loudly from the back...'Aryaputra' please don't talk so much and concentrate on the path ahead. I am getting nervous.' She knows that this single word is enough to make them serious and focused again.

The path is becoming stiffer with every step ahead. Suddenly the sky takes a gloomy colour, day light seems to be inadequate to see further. A peculiar sound with chilled, fresh waves of air starts to cover the whole region. Be careful' Lomosha warns the whole team. He has long experiences of travel through the Jambudwip over the years. So he is well aware of these changing moods of the nature. Everyone is trying to come closer of the others for avoiding the sharp gorges. But all their efforts fail with a single gigantic blow of dusty storm. Within a moment the whole region becomes dark like night time. Tiny pieces of stone with a terrible blow of air suppose to wipe out everything in the path. Draupadi screams in fear. Yudhisthir hears that but cannot reach to her. He holds the hands of Lomosha and Dhaumya to take them at some safe corner of the mountain. Nakul and Sahadev start pushing back the other sages and monks at the hilly portion of the Gandhamadan. Sharp stone chips, dust and chilled blade of air are heating them ruthlessly but they are not in a position to concentrate on their physical wounds. They are Khatriya warriors and it is their responsibility to protect the others. But they really fear to imagine the condition of Draupadi. Bhimsen embraces the slender form of Draupadi within the folds of his arms to protect her from the merciless blows of the air. He again and again tries to cover her head or body but it is impossible to combat with this natural calamity. Draupadi remained numb to see this devastation of nature. It seemed to be a never ending process which will perish all of them. She tightens her hold over Bhimsen's waist more and more so that she can get some support for her mind and body. The thunder continues for a pretty long time and then begins heavy rainfall. The mighty, stony surfaces of the mountain, the sharp, narrow paths surrounded by dense forest, all seem to be washed out by that unnatural rainfall. All the members of the group are trying their best to resist this chilled, painful icy shower but all go in vain. The monks, sages, mighty warriors all have to surrender to this whimsical mystery of the nature.

At last the rain stops and the mild, enchanting rays of the shinning sun reappears through the deep, dark, green canopies of the forest. What a strange welcome for us to this mysterious land'---Sahadev's anxious, curious voice breaks the abnormal silence of the land. All the others are slowly trying to come out of this trance. But Panchali still does not move, her hands are in the same postion embracing the well built form of Bhim. Perhaps she does not hear SahadevBhim thinks so and starts calling her by her name. But still she does not respond. Bhim becomes confused and helplessly looks at Yudhisthir. He is also worried to see her strange behavior. All the four brothers come closer to Draupadi and are calling her repeatedly. After sometime her body shivers a little beat and she opens her lotus eyes. The Pandavas are shocked to see that red, tired, lifeless glance. Are you alright'---Yudhisthir asks anxiously. But Panchali is still not in a normal state to answer to his query. Her frightened eyes begin to rove over the faces of her husbands. Yudhisthir repeats his question. This time she seems to be normal and can node her head.'Krishna needs some rest before we proceed again' Nakul comments in a worried tone. Nono, Aryaputra'Draupadi speaks in a very timid voice. We should not waste so much time here; we will have to reach the holy place as soon as possible. We can get food and refuge there. Don't worry, I will manage.'the fiery queen of the Pandavas is again in her usual mood and spirit. The group starts their journey again for a blissful reunion.
