DISCLAIMER:

1. This story, being a mythology based story, will be having flashbacks and memories almost every chapter.

2. I started with this chapter as it is from here that Dharani's true test starts. What she went through before all this is the pre-test time, so as to say.

3. This will be a love story, yes, but highly spiritual, symbolic and elemental. This story has loops everywhere, some closed, some aren't. The past is needed here, for the loops open there, and close either in the present or future.

4. This is not a light hearted story. There will be some light moments, but it is mostly an intense story, going dark in many places. You may wonder at many things I have written, but remember, this is my perception. You are allowed to disagree and be critical, as I said before, but no bashing or vulgar language allowed.

Suggestions are always welcome.

Read and review :)

THE FAILURE

Dharani stood with folded hands, stood in front of the idol of Shri Krishna, eyes shining, cheeks with tear tracks.

"Arya, you tell me that Failure is a stepping stone to success!'. You tell me I am Bhudevi, that I have parts of various forms of swayam Mahalakshmi in me. But why this struggle? Why make me fail and seem like a dunce, Swami? I don't understand it. Enlighten me", said Dharani, voice even, body trembling.

"My love!"

The corporeal form of her Lord, the one she was so accustomed to, stood next to her. In His mor pankh and pitambar garments, He stood resplendent.

"Swami!", she said, falling at His feet.

"Get up love!", said Shri Krishna, lifting her up. "Failures are a part and parcel of life. You know that. They can also be circumstantial. You will be able to overcome the failure and succeed my love. Your life is more than simply the career you choose to follow"

"I know Swami. Multiple times you have told me this. Yet, my heart hurts, like the stupid human I am", said Dharani.

"Don't call yourself stupid. You are anything but that. You have overcome every taunt you have faced, and succeeded. You can do it. It is okay to get emotional with me though. I am always there to help and guide you, I am always there to listen, and most importantly, there to love. Never forget that irrespective of what happens, I will always love you", said Shri Krishna.

"I know Lord. Your love is my strength", said Dharani.

Shri Krishna smiled lovingly at her.

"You will succeed, love", said Shri Krishna, knowing what bothered her.

"With you as my guide, how can I not?", she said, smiling softly.

"Your Amma's words hurt?", asked He, knowingly.

"They do Swami", said Dharani. "But I am giving you the hurt. It is selfish, but I am"

"Give it to me", said Shri Krishna. "That way, I feel the pain less"

Dharani smiled at Him, and said, "Stop making yourself sound selfish when you are not"

"It got you back into argumentative mode", He said, mischievously.

Dharani giggled, and was about to say something, when...

"Dharani! You idiot, come here", said her mother.

"Let's go love. Your mother is in a bad mood as it is", said Krishna.

"It is my fault", said Dharani. "I flunked two of my papers"

"My love", said Dharanidhara to his Dharani.

"Swami?", asked Dharani.

"You will live a tough life. A life you haven't experienced as Sita, Satyabhama, Andal, Alamelu. A life where you would want to give up many times", said the Lord.

"But how will I?", asked She. "I have you. You will pull me back, no doubt"

"I will. Always", said He. "But it is very human. You will live like one, not knowing who you are. You will be one, my love. You will go through very tough times. But you will survive"

"As long as you are with me, what can I not get through?", asked Vasundhara, smiling at her Lord.

Dharani hummed to herself, as she took out her books to study. This was the time she was given. She had to prove herself worthy of the intelligence she knew she possessed.

Taking a deep breath, she sang,

Hai Saraswati, Maa Sharade,

Hum Ko Yahi Vardhaan Do

Bahe Hridhaya Mein Prem Ganga,

Desh Sevaki Chah Ho

Gyaan Ka Sagar Ho Tum,

Do boondiyon Hume De Do Ma,

Hey Daya Swaroopini,

Itni Daya Kar Do He Ma

Praying thus, she turned to her books, determined to do well, and prove her parents wrong, and the world wrong.

"Your determination to your goal will shake the world", said Lord Vishnu.

"My goal is you", said Dhaara.

"That is what will shake the world", said He, grinning.

Dharani stepped into her mother's room, happy that she had done a focused two hours of studying.

"Look who walked in", said her mother, who was on the phone.

Dharani looked at her mother, hoping that no comment will come.

"Our daughter", said her mother, on the phone.

No such luck it looked like. Dharani sighed.

"And currently, she is sighing, after failing two of her papers", said her mother, glaring at Dharani.

Dharani closed her eyes. Taking deep breaths, she calmed herself down, trying to lessen the sting of the insult.

"What are you doing here?", asked Radhika, Dharani's mother.

"I finished studying one unit completely, so I am on a break", said Dharani, truthfully.

"Failures don't deserve breaks", said Radhika, slight disgust on her face.

"As you say Amma", said Dharani, turning to leave the room.

"I don't know Suresh. She is utterly useless. Why do I even build hopes on her? All she has ever done is let me down", said her mother.

Dharani rushed out of the room, blinking back tears. She ran and sat in front of the Ram Parivaar. The Ram Parivaar gave her peace. She sat there, staring at the Lotus feet of Shri Rama. Slowly, she looked up, and she saw Shri Rama. But at the same time, Krishna, her Krishna was also there.

"Hey Lord! Yes, I made a mistake. I should have studied better. But does that mean I have to be discouraged and told I am failure every 30 seconds?", asked Dharani. "I have failed, yes. But that doesn't mean I won't succeed in the future. In fact, I will succeed. With your love and guidance, how can I not?", said Dharani.

"Dharani, what are you... Why do you think Lord Rama will help you?", asked her mother, coming out of the room.

"Why won't He? I am asking Him with love and devotion", said Dharani.

"God helps only those who helps themselves", said Radhika. "Shri Rama has better Bhakts to help out as compared to you. Your Krishna is waiting and watching. If you take one step, He will take hundreds for you"

"As you say Amma. Studying is the first step I have taken", said Dharani.

"Sitting here uselessly is not studying. Go study", said her mother.

"Yes Amma"

Turning back to Lord Rama, she bowed down once again, and got up and left for her study room.

"Krishna Krishna!", muttered Dharani, as she opened her books to study.

"You called?", asked Shri Krishna, suddenly appearing next to her.

"Arya!", said Dharani, laughing. "I am always calling you"

"And I am always with you", said the Lord, smiling. Turning serious, He said, "Listen to me my love"

"Arya?", said Dharani.

"You have already taken the first step", said He.

"I have?", asked Dharani, eyes wide.

"You have. And it is not studying", He said, smiling knowingly.

"Then what is... Your name. Saying your name is the first step", said Dharani, realization sinking in.

"It is, my love. Irrespective of anything, if anyone says my name with utter love and devotion, I will help them, come what may", said Shri Krishna, smiling at Dharani.

"It always is"

Reverentially, she moved forward, placing the flowers in her hands on His Lotus feet, worshipping Him.

P.S. The pink is for conversations that happen between Lord Vishnu and any other person.

The rest of the colour coding will be explained as and when I put it up.

Awh! Poor Dharani! Why doesn't people give her time to rectify her mistake!
She's also about one the luckiest persons on Earth! Swawam Kanha keeping a watch as she studies!

Brilliantly framed. The visuals are strong. Of Pitambardhaari, with His morpankh.
*speechless*
Plus, the conceptualisation of a serious storyline, with Madhava is amazing.

@Shrutha the part where a mother blames daughter for failure is realistic and the girl's feelings. It happens mostly and I guess everyone can feel it.
But one thing I am against as a person is, don't make someone believe without doing their duty God will help them.
You can take his name, but your work you have to do. You have to put effort, not that everything will happen in miracles.
So from my perspective I am completely against the last part where Krishna says studying is not the first step she took, but chanting his name is. The Krishna I know will never do that. 😆😆.
Till you make the effort, true effort he will show you failure only. Abhi died so that Arjuna fights against adharma with all his heart

@Shruthi- I was more or less angling for the part where once someone chants His name, their duty, their true effort, everything will come together. That's how I do it. That part is from my life. Where I chant His name. Once I do it, I do my duty, and my work properly.
And also, what if Krishna Himself is Dharani's duty? What then?

@Shrutha Krishna cannot be your duty, you are a medium to do his duty. You need to understand what he expects out of you, those things always comes in the form of Krishna in front of you. They come through various people, various incidents.
My experience has been like that only. When I do something and if that something is what he expects, he opens the door of the truth of that action.
If it is not, run around till I open the right door. Only thing I know is that earlier it was difficult to understand the doors. Now I myself smile when I open the door and tell I know you want me to open this door. Now tell me what is my next challenge.
Maybe by nature I am like that. Only when I feel I have put my whole effort I request him to show me the direction so that the effort is fruitful. Else I myself feel guilty of troubling him 😆😆, though he does pull me out of big mess.
