Aamir Ali and Sanjeeda :

AThe current buzz doing the rounds is that Aamir Ali of Woh Rehne Wali Mehelon Ki and Sanjeeda aka Nimmo are going around together. The duo were spotted holding hands, as they reached for the launch of The House of Horrors at Vile Parle, last week. But they arrived so late, past the witching hour, when the media had left, that the lovebirds could not be captured by the shutterbugs. Our bumblebee tells us that when someone complimented Sanjeeda on having lost oodles of weight, for looking svelte and glowing, her answer referring to Aamir was, "I am so happy with him that it shows!"

Needless to say, the couple missed entering the house of horrors as it had shut by then. But if they had, it would have been a great romantic experience, what with the spooks giving them an opportunity to get closer in the dark tunnels of the H of H!

Poonam is living it up
By: Shaheen Parkar
May 14, 2007

With her track coming to an end in Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki, the actress has all the time to catch up with her hobbies

Poonam Joshi is out of the SaharaOne daily Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki and has no other TV show on hand. But yet, she says she has a thousand other things to do.

"I am enjoying my phase of being at home. There are so many other things, which you otherwise normally wouldn't do. I can catch up on things like gymming and reading. I also like to cook and go out shopping. In fact there is so much more to do now in the house."

Bookworm

Incidentally, Poonam is a voracious reader and even has a library at home with a collection of over 100 books. Then there are her pets — Angel (a Lhasa Apso) and Patch (a street dog) whom she loves to take out for walks. Moreover as Poonam's parents are settled in Pune, she keeps going there as well.

Poonam was playing the negative character of Sanjana in Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki. She formed the love triangle with Pari (Reena Kapoor) and Saumya (Aamir Ali). "The love triangle had to eventually end one day with Saumya going back to Pari," she says about her exit from the show.

The Zen way

It is learnt that another family track is being introduced in Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki. "I was informed about my exit by the producers (Rajshri Productions). It was a good experience working with them as they take good care of their actors," she adds.

Poonam, like several other TV actors, is also an avid follower of Buddhism for over three years.

She feels its most influential preaching is that 'you' are the most powerful force and that you don't have to look outside for validation, rather look within.

Besides lapping up books on the subject, she attends meetings organised by Soka Gakkai (an organisation that promotes peace, culture and education based on the philosophy of Buddhism).

"I am looking at new offers but currently enjoying chilling out," says Poonam who started her carer with Balaji's Kahiin Toh Hoga.

She also featured in Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki and was later seen in Tumhari Disha on Zee.

Aamir Ali, TV actor, shares his views about his ideal woman: Q Describe your ideal woman.

I don't demand much. She should be a happy and good-looking person. If she has a similar attitude as my mom that would be like icing on the cake. Q Ready for a live-in relationship?

No, I don't think so, I stay with my mom, and have no plans of deserting her. Q Hottest chick in Bollywood?

Rani Mukerji, there is something about her eyes and smile. Q If you found your partner having a fling with your best friend, what would you do ?

I would probably have a fling with her best friend. Q Would you allow your wife to wear short outfits?

That depends, short can be vulgar or sexy. Sexy is allowed, but not vulgar. Q How much importance do you give to space in any relationship?

It's very important. I have seen marriages and relationships breaking because of it. There needs to be space between any couple. Q Are men from Mars and women from Venus?

No, both are from earth. Although women are a wee bit better than men. Q If most women don't like boys with a dominating nature, what is that one female trait that turns off men?

Girls who are artificial and full of themselves are a total put off. As told to ANIL MEHRANI

i found this in the telly buzzz forum, its a gud news for all those who love ankur

Telly Buzz > Ankur Nayyar to replace Amit Sadh in Durgesh Nandini

Ankur Nayyar to replace Amit Sadh in Durgesh Nandini
Catch up with Ankur Nayyar , the new Kshitij of Durgesh Nandini.
Date: 5/7/2007 10:24:12 PM
Amit Sadh's stint with Durgesh Nandini has eventually ended. Owing to hospitalization and ill health, Amit has decided to quit the serial. Now that he is out, who gets in to play the character of Kshitij? We need not guess further on this, as we have gathered news. Ankur Nayyar is now all set to play the role of Kshitij in Durgesh Nandini. Ankur is also seen in the serial Woh Rehne Wali Mehlon Ki .

We caught up with Ankur Nayyar on the sets of Durgesh Nandini to get his quotes regarding this new role of his. This is what the actor had to say - "I have been shooting for Durgesh Nandini for the past 2-3 days now. I am really enjoying working here; I am very excited to play the role of Kshitij. Its nice to be Kshitij, his character has lots of shades. I am having fun working with this unit. Amit has been doing the role till now. I would like to start off from where he left, I would like to just initiate with what he has done. Later on, as the story progresses, I would certainly put in a change to the body language and incorporate my thoughts into the character, once the viewers get used to seeing me as Kshitij "

So here is wishing the best of luck for the new Kshitij. Can the new Kshitij bring in high TRP's, keep watching Durgesh Nandini to know more about this..

'I'm one guy on TV who has no complaints'

... says Aamir Ali who doesn't feel left out in the women dominated industry

HARSHADA REGE

With the Tulsis, Parvatis and Prernas in the forefront, there's very little that guys on TV can do. And that's a constant complaint from actors in television. But Aamir Ali's an exception to the rule. The actor who's playing Saumya in SaharaOne's Woh Rehne Wali Mehlon Ki, says, "The TV industry is no doubt women-oriented, but I have no issues. In fact, I am one of the few guys on TV who has no complaints." But doesn't he feel that female protagonists have better scope to perform. "If you see my role in the serial I get to do everything that an actor would want from a role," he adds.
But it's not shedding tears that Aamir seems to enjoy the most. The actor loves performing his own stunts. "I enjoy doing my own stunts when things are in my control. But when I have to rely on other things like wires I get a bit worried, because one can't expect the best safety precautions with the budget that we have. In fact, I don't tell my mom that I am going to do a stunt scene," he laughs.

Aamir has recently moved in his new house. And the actor has one advice for his fellow actors... "Don't ever take such a task on hand if you are doing a daily," he warns. "It can become really tiring. In fact, even now my house is not completely done. But I must admit that it has a more comfy feeling to it because of one's personal touch," he says. The actor has been so involved in doing up his house that he is now up-to-date with info on building material right from the cost of tiles to the paint. "I am going to charge my friends if they want any advice from me. If they want to consult me they better pay me for giving them the right information without having to run around like I did," he laughs.

'No place for Muslims!'
By: Tushar Joshi
December 15, 2006
Aamir Ali
Aamir Ali's initial shock has now turned into dejection and frustration. So much so, that the actor is still trying to grapple with his bitter house-hunting experience.

Ali had been on the lookout for a house in Lokhandwala Complex for quite some time. After closing in on a building that was approved by his mother, Aamir asked his agent to seal the deal. To his dismay not only did the deal fall through, but the actor was also in for a very rude shock.

Says Aamir, "My mother and I loved this flat in Springfield Apartments, but when we went to sign the deal, I was told we couldn't buy the flat because they don't give flats to Muslims. It is the most ridiculous thing I have heard. I was fuming with rage when I was told to back off."

Disappointed

The actor is shocked that religion is being used as a benchmark to buy property. "I have heard of some more places where similar things happen. Initially, I was told that since I am an actor I could stand a chance of getting a flat in that area. But now, that seems impossible."

Even though he had plans of personally meeting the secretary of the building, his agent advised him against it. "My agent told me it would be of no use meeting any one in the building. They had a strict rule and there would be no exceptions to it."

Presently, Aamir is shifting to a rented apartment since he sold off his old pad thinking he would move to Springfield Apartments. "I have to start my search all over again. Till I find a new place I will move into a rented flat."

Talking about his mother's disappointment, he says, "She has always believed in patriotism and has always put the country before anything else. Today, she is so disappointed and upset."

Agent non-provocateur

Springfield Apartments
Kukreja, who was in charge of sealing the deal for Aamir, says, "There are areas in the city that are sensitive towards other communities settling in their establishments. What's unfortunate is that such things are not one-off occurrences, but a malaise that is spread throughout the city."

Stating that it's better to avoid head-on confrontations on religious matters, he says, "One has to tread very carefully when it comes to the religious sentiments of any community.

There are Christian communities that don't allow Jews in their areas, while certain Muslim areas don't allot land to Hindus. It's sad that in spite of having the same sky above our heads, we have created boundaries and lines of control even within our homes."

Bahu of 'my dream khandaan'

Poonam Joshi
Whoever is the richest - the Ambanis, I guess will be wonderful to have as my in-laws. And the bonus is being rated among the wealthiest in the Forbes list! Look at their wives who are into education and arts. It allows them to have their own identity instead of putting away their bahus in the backburner.

Resham and Sanjeev divorced
By: Vickey Lalwani
April 27, 2007

Far from being wary about committing again, Resham is dating someone else

Single And Mingling:
Resham Tipnis
Resham Tipnis (Ghar... Ek Sapnaa) and Sanjeev Seth's (Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki) marriage is over. The couple, who had been married for ten years, has now separated.

Resham and Sanjeev have two children, Rishika (12) and Manav (7), and Sanjeev has custody of both.

The couple had been having differences for long time. Three years ago, Resham had walked out of Sanjeev's home and gone to live with her parents. But a few days later, they decided to give their marriage another shot.

Kids doing fine

While Sanjeev says that they have gone different ways, Resham says, "We tried our best to save the marriage, but did not succeed. We had irrevocable differences.

We decided that instead of having heated arguments frequently, we should separate and live peacefully. So went in for the divorce, which happened nearly two years back."

Resham says their relationship was in rough waters for a long time. "But Sanjeev and I never spoke about it. Even when we got divorced, we did not mention it to anybody. Only our close friends and relatives know about it."

How have Rishika and Manav taken it? "Manav was too young to understand things, but I did have a chat with Rishika. They have taken it well. We will always be there for them," says Resham.

Age difference

Resham reveals that the age difference between Sanjeev and her was one reason why they didn't connect well. "I was just 20 when I married, and he was twelve years older than me.

Somewhere along the line, that became one of the reasons for our split. We differed on money, work and other issues in life. However, there was no third person responsible for our split," says Resham.

Why didn't she get custody of her kids? Resham claims that she did not press for it because the kids wanted to live in Goregaon.

"They have many friends there. Plus their school is near Sanjeev's flat, so I decided not to disturb their life."

Resham has not become wary of men. In fact, she is in a serious relationship with a man she met after her divorce. "I can't reveal his identity but I definitely want to marry him.

Nobody should live alone. Even Sanjeev should remarry. And hey, my lover is just two years older than me, so no age difference problem," she signs off on an optimistic note.
