Harshad Chopda fans on TellyCafe may have given the thumbs down to Anupriya Kapoor, but viewers are admiring what they've seen so far in the two-week old show. Harshad has barely made a few appearances in the show so far, as the story currently dwells on the childhood of Anurag and Taani.

The viewers certainly like the story and the performance of the child artists. In a matter of two weeks, 'Tere Liye' is finds itself shoulder to shoulder with the slot leader 'Uttaran' and threatens to topple it next week. Both the shows clocked a peak TVR of 4.2, but 'Uttaran' is ranked just above 'Tere Liye' as it registered the 4.2 TVR on two occasions, according to the TAM data week 26 (June 20-26).

The Colors show 'Uttaran' opened the week with a TVR of 4.2 as opposed to the 4.0 by 'Tere Liye'. The latter got 4.1 on Tuesday while 'Uttaran' fetched a TVR of 4.0 It was all square on Wednesday with both shows clocking 4.2 TVR. However, 'Tere Liye' had its nose ahead of its rival on Thursday and Friday with a TVR of 3.8 and 3.5 respectively. 'Uttaran' managed 3.5 and 3.2 respectively on Thursday and Friday.

The picture looks clear. Viewers have an alternative to 'Uttaran' at the 10.00 pm slot. Colors will hope to add more spice to 'Uttaran' in order to keep its head above rival 'Tere Liye'. That will have to happen soon because once Harshad Chopda appears regularly; there simply will be no competition.

One person who will savour this success will be producer Ekta Kapoor, who could gain supremacy at the slot that was very much hers during the days of 'Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki'.

At the time when it is losing numbers to the rival shows, a rebellion of your lead actor is the last thing that 'Uttaran' would have wanted. Just few days back we'd reported that Tina Dutta (a.k.a Ichcha) threw a fist on the sets. Apparently, now we know why the poor girl is unhappy.

Dutta's contract has come up for renewal and she's demanding a hike in salary. If her demands aren't met, the girl has threatened to quit the show, so says a tabloid report.

Tina Dutta remained unavailable for comment. A source close to the actress informs, "Contrary to what has been reported, Tina hasn't demanded a 100 % hike in salary. Nor has she threatened to quit the show. Her contract is up for renewal and it's only fair that upon completion of a year, every actor would like to have an increment. The matter should be solved soon".

When asked about the alleged tantrums, especially Tina's misplacing her wig and blaming the hairdresser, the source said, "This issue has been blown out of proportions. It's not the first time that her wig has been lost. Besides, petty thefts are a reality today. Actors tend to lose their mobile, wallet, and other valuables".

A source closely associated with the show informs, "Every production house faces these issues when the show becomes a hit. Actors tend to become pricey and behave arrogantly. The problem is if you oblige to one's demands, then other actors too expect the same. You will always face such problem when you have multiple leads in the show".

Are others acting pricey too? And, if that's the case then isn't Tina being singled out?

"May be Tina has crossed the limit (tantrums). However, she's not the first person to have done so. Besides, she hasn't threatened to quit. This is a routine matter for any producer or channel. Hopefully, it should be sorted out soon", the source concluded.

Producer Pintoo Guha rubbished such reports saying, "These are all false news. All my contracts have been done. Someone is really after 'Uttaran' and publishing false news".

Uttaran actress demands Rs 30, 000 per day??

Tina Dutta, the beautiful television actress who plays the character of grown up Ichcha in popular serial 'Uttaran', has reportedly asked for a hike from Rs 15,000 to Rs 30,000 per day from the producers of the show.

She has also threatened to quit the show if her demands were not met. However, producer Pintu Guha is in a fix and can not pay that exorbitant amount to the actress and hence has reportedly approached AMTPP (Association of Motion Pictures and TV Programme Producers) to resolve the matter.

Sources close to producer say that Tina's remuneration had recently been hiked from Rs 12,000 per day to Rs 15, 000 per day and immediate hike of Rs 30,000 was almost impossible. The producer has to pay other actors too. Besides there are other expenses incurred during the making of a serial.

However, Tina Dutta denies all this and says, 'Things have been blown out of proportion. The same thing happened when I lost my wig. Later, I found that it was with one of the production guys.'

Vansh and Ichcha

Colors show is caught in a web of suspicion. This web is laid by the volatile Vansh (Rohit Khurrana) who still speculates his wife Ichcha (Tina Dutta) of having an affair with her ex-lover Veer, who is also his brother. Viewers have seen him play with guns and point it at Ichcha's head. However, he's yet to press the trigger though.

Come tomorrow, Vansh will employ a new trick in his endeavor to kill Ichcha. This scene bears resemblance to the 1993 blockbuster Baazigar. In the film, Shah Rukh proposes to Shilpa, gifts her necklace, sari before pushing the girl down from a scraper.

A little birdie from the sets informs, "In tomorrow's episode, Vansh will try killing Ichcha in Baazigar style. He will first buy Ichcha a red sari. Thereafter, he plans to take her to the terrace and pushes Ichca down form the window. I don't think that he will be able to carry out this murder. He's livid to see that Veer still hasn't left Uttaran. Ichcha steps out of the house to secretly meet Veer, who once again tries cautioning her against a possible attack from his unstable brother Vansh. However, Vansh happens to see them together again. That's when he hatches such a plot".

Rohit Khurrana remained unavailable for comment. This episode will air tomorrow.
Baazigar had earned Shah Rukh Khan his first Filmfare award for the best actor. Well, one is not sure whether Rohit Khurana will earn such statuette.

Television! It can earn you extreme fanaticism as well as extreme criciticsm. The couch potato never shies from expressing the latter. Pooja Pihal of 'Pavitra Rishta'and Anupriya Kapoor of 'Tere Liye'are subjects of negative jibes from the viewers. While Pihal has been ridiculed for her reel character, poor Anurpiya has been castigated by fans who don't like her paring with heartthrob Harshad Chopda.

Add another to this hate list. That name is of Rohit Kurana, a.k.a Vansh of 'Uttaran' fame.

Rohit's character is about to die in 'Uttaran'. However, the fans simply can't forgive him for torturing his wife Ichcha (Tina Dutta). Vansh, who is a drug addict and always suspects his wife, has been getting hate calls from passionate fans.

Ichcha getting traumatised is the biggest concern viewers are complaining of. Ichcha, who is married to Vansh in 'Uttaran', has not experienced any marital bliss and is always under her husband's suspicion of still being involved with her ex-lover Veer (Nandish Sandhu).

While viewers can see how faithful Ichcha has been to Vansh, poor Rohit Khurana has been facing the brunt of bearing his character's wrong doings!

Explains Rohit, "It is extremely irritating sometimes when I have to hear to all the screams, advises of how I should trust my wife, Ichcha and how helpful she has been to get me sober from my drug addiction. From my landline to cell phone, it constantly keeps ringing asking for Vansh Bundela! I don't know how they have got to know of my phone number and email ID, since my mail box is also filled with hate mails. I have switched off my phone and have limited access to the same, including my emails. I have opened a new email account, which I plan to share only with people who I am close to!"

Don't worry Rohit, once Vansh dies, no one will bother to call or email you.

Last week, 'Uttaran' witnessed a tragedy with one of the key characters shooting himself in the show. Expect the TRP to be high, but viewers are wondering what will happen in the aftermath of Vansh's (Rohit Khurana) death.
If sources are to be believed, there is high drama in store in the coming months. One thing is certain 'Uttaran' is here to stay for long.

A source says, "Initially, there'll be lot of sadness as Ichcha (Tina Dutta) will be holding Veer (Nandish Sandhu) responsible for Vansh's death. After the investigations, it will be revealed that Tapasya is responsible for Vansh's death. Veer will decide to leave Tapasya (Rashmi Desai). Both families will then agree to get Veer and Ichcha married. When everything is about to settle down Tapasya will play spoilsport by claiming to be pregnant with Veer's child. That's how the story is expected to proceed".

We tired to call the actors but in vain. Producer Pintoo Guha too remained unavailable for comment.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that issue surrounding the contract extension of Tina Dutta has been resolved.
