Recently KSV's Machiavellian strategy of Tejo's marriage in order to make Fateh realise his feelings brought a question in my mind- Is he the one to blame? I don't know what exactly happened between Simran and her ex, why KSV refused that guy (I joined the show post fatejo marriage), but it seems like Simran too had noticed some red flags and ignored them (the way she spoke about her past, and love). So basically both Simran and Fateh notice red flags yet ignore them because they are trying to escape something.

My question is, is KSV actually that great guy we all think? Fateh's comment, "aapko toh main dikhta hi nahin" says something other than his and jasso's saga. It was something deeper, how KSV basically ignored their identity. F's career in boxing seems his imposition too, sure he's good at it, and enjoys the glory which comes with it, but it's not his dream. He hasn't known or discovered what he wants. He simply became what his dad wanted to be and in Simran's eloping aftermath things just got more intense. Emotionally, he's a toddler.

We know KSV is extremely dominating, and his career is very important to him. If he considers something wrong, he won't even try to see it from another POV. Plus, there's also sexism embedded in his psyche as we saw the different behavior towards Fateh and Simran. The only person he's genuinely liked is Tejo, and let's be real...She's impossibly mahan. Whether it's doing the job and handling entire family like a stay at home wife, or putting up with taunts, she does it all. So, he's ridiculously impossible standards. And even then he doesn't mind using her so he can save his son.

actually from starting nothing was known about simran...

it was just ksv hated canada, and also hearing simrans name or seeing her stuff..

only that was known she ran way to canada with a guy...and breaking his principals..

as he was proud on punjab and his desh ki mitti...

so the first meeting of ksv and jassmine was...

jasmine insulted ksv

and also ksv saw her dancing on moden hiphop dance..

when he found that fateh loved her and wanted to go canada he threw him out tooo...

but once during some goverment thing

a person came to kill ksv but fateh saved him by himself getting hurt..

after that he forgive fateh and decided to give him a chance and let him marry jasmine...

but as jasmine decieved fateh, he hated her nd to save their families self respect tejo nd fateh got married.,.

Bold: I have noticed the same thing, that is why in the ff i am writing his characterisation is very different. In most stories he is the good old KSV but I have never seen him as a good father to his kids or even a good husband to his wife.

He's great qualities, but they're very shaky. They easily change according to situations to suit his motives. He's like a benevolent ruler, he will be good but he'll be above you.

I dunno what he is thinking off. I mean till now he was staunch supporter for Tejo so I want to give him benefit of doubt for 2 things

1. He has seen how Angad makes T smile and genuinely want good for Tejo

2. Tejo herself will not agree to any relationship now.for obivous reasons. So as a father wants to make sure she is happy in long run if she gets a partner as Angad

I mean if they have shown his monologue like this it would have been easier to accept but suddenly he wants Tejo and Fateh together is hard to accept. Suddenly his realisation as F is his son is so lame when his daughter i.e. simran is suffering is poor writing

KSV is a politician at the end. He will do what he wants and will think he is always right

I am so disappointed with him.

Well he has been shown as proud, dominant person who loves punjab, for him his country is everything

As a father he used to love simian alot, there was a scene where it refer that he allowed simi to work,he trusted her alot but she eloped with some guy defaming his trust so for the reason he is strict towards his other children

As for love for tejo, she is intelligent, wants to stay in punjab and have high family value the perfect daughter, he wanted

There were people who were giving him benefit of doubt, but it was proven wrong. Tho makers have the habit of turning the character around in one day.

He liked Tejo as a person, but his intent to keep Tejo in family aren't pure. Tejo has done things which were impossible, Fateh matured with her, academy started to work, she does everything for family, Fateh was changing, becoming responsible with her... he knows Tejo is the perfect person to make sure that there's never any problem.

Yet he allowed Fateh to marry J and leave India, to canada (which was the OG issue with Simran's ex).

Tejo isn't just perfect daughter, she's the perfect DIL(who does all the housework, handles everything maturely, cleans up their messes)

Ok. I have a lot to say regarding this.

Disclaimer: I am pretty sure the Cvs Haven't thought this much 😅

*clearing my throat*

In every analysis I have made regarding Fateh (many of which went down the drain and many of which turned out to be true 🤷), there is a constant reference to Khushveer Singh Virk. Even when I analysed the EMA and Fateh's Ibadati love for Jasso, KSV was a part of it. While I loved the way he berated Fateh and Jasso and appreciated Tejo, I cannot help but look at him in a different manner, something which probably reached my readers through the OS from Gurpreet's perspective - KSV needs someone through whom he can live his dreams. That man dreams of a legacy.

A domineering, shrewd, powerful, intimidating and yet a family oriented patriarch, he has always had the power position. His daughter Simran was the apple of his eye. He loved her definitely and his other children too but he is human and all humans have this nasty tendency within themselves to impose.

In a conversation when KSV argued with his family regarding Tejo going for her job, I remember His father telling him that he had allowed Simran to do a job and asked him to look at the scandal that followed it. This shows that the family set up was increasingly patriarchal but KSV had still 'allowed' his daughter to do a job.

The question here is WHY? What made him take a stand for Simran to work? Simple....his image of a progressive and educated politician. He considers himself a straightforward and true to the people political figure; someone who can guide the youth and be a mentor for them. He definitely wants to do good for Punjab but has an image of himself as a progressive thinker. As such Simran going out justified it and he genuinely believes that Women should work if they want to.

He berated Fateh when the latter had neglected Tejo during the early days of his marriage. KSV had reminded him of his responsibilities as a husband. It shows that the institution of marriage holds and great deal of importance for him.

In short he is a towering presence who has no stain on his actions and has the courage to straightforwardly keep his point when he thinks he is right. And someone like him wants a similar heir. As such, he wanted his son to be a National Level Champion to fulfill his dream of motivating the youth of Punjab. Nowhere is it ever said by Fateh that it is HIS dream with emphasis. It is always - mujhe papa ka sapna pura karna hain.

Why this drive? Simple. Simran's elopement had further gutted the father child relations. When his eldest had betrayed him per se because he couldn't leave his adamant attitude, it also soured the relations with his other children. Had he accepted Simran's choice, a background checking would have revealed the truth of the cheat who betrayed her. Instead he chose to stick to his ideals and probably pressurize Fateh even more to be his ideal child - his heir.

A suffocated Fateh who is a wallpaper without aspirations of his own moulded to make his Father's wishes his own. He remained in a family where a strict code was followed, where his mother rarely spoke up, his younger sister had terse relations with their father and finally a father who saw him only when he did something right as per him. In such a situation he glimpsed Jasmine Sandhu who knew no bounds, no limits and no discipline. There was no pressure on her except a hungering dream that Fateh had no idea of and lived her life to the fullest. She was like the first drops of rain on a sandy desert. Fateh fell for her and no matter what the show might say about her beauty and stuff; I will always believe that KSV's pressure and the need to escape it, drew Fateh to Jasmine because she was total opposite of the life his father had planned for him.

People may move on from love but rarely can anyone move on from an escape. And it is no wonder that Fateh is enraptured by her yet. He cannot move on. She is a haven away from his father's pressure. Because she is equally domineering about her dreams and imposes them on Fateh like KSV. At least in her case, she proclaims her love for him instead of plain disregard and disappointment that KSV gives him.

Tejo instead is all the good qualities of Khusveer. In her he gets the ideal heir. The appreciation is stark in his eyes when she had defended him from reporters after Fateh had gotten stabbed. It would not surprise me to know that maybe KSV had gotten the job cancelled and convinced Fateh to let him speak to Rupi, shrewdly guessing the actions and repercussions. Because let's face it, he never wanted Jasmine to be his daughter-in-law.

In Tejo he got the spark he missed from his children. She had the talent to match him and the spirit to go on a loggerhead with him that Gurpreet or any other family member lacked. In a way she had all his good qualities. The ideal child he wanted and as such, their relationship was one of actual emotional investment from both sides. Which is why, while he wants her to be happy, he is also reluctant to let her go. He wants her for Fateh not just because she is perfect one but because she is his heir; the one whom he can bank on to fulfill his dreams something Simran and Fateh have failed dismally in. He himself had confessed to Tejo in the Gurudwara that both of them were eerily similar. He is right. Both have that insane devotion to the ones they love and such characters are very solid. But unlike him, Tejo also has a forgiving heart and that makes her different.

Fateh did not get along with Tejo for this very reason. Their wavelengths did not match as she was a similar version of his father. His anger, his cruel insults to her; all show his internalized loathing of the relationship he shared with his father. There was no way to let it out and when he met Tejo, her harsh words brought it to the surface. Later however he took the same position he always did with his father. He began to let her lead him and became obsessively dependent on her to make choices for him; even to the extent of convincing Jasso for him.

I am sure somewhere after his marriage he began to feel the frustration that Jasso probably often felt for a perfect Tejo. The period when they both called names to Tejo after the revelation of the EMA shows that they definitely hold bitterness for her. It's a Jealousy syndrome. Jasso's is expected as she is her direct sibling. But Fateh's is interesting because she was his wife. This shows the fractured father son relationship between Khusveer Singh Virk and his son.

The drunk act actually made me feel for him. From the lens I see Fateh the son (not the husband or friend Fateh), his frustration, his anguish and his simmering loathing for his father is a delicious tone to the story.

I agree to many of the points you made.

Jasso is an escape and like a drug she allows him to be away from his father's influence. There is no love there. Because people can move on from love. They cannot easily move on from addiction that gives them.am escape. The chances of relapsing are high.

Upar se of Fatejo do get together, There is a high chance of am insecurity track and Simran's grey shade. It is Fateh and Simran who are replaced by Tejo single-handedly in Khushveer's regard. There is high chance of things getting murkier. Upar se Nimpreet will worsen matters and KSV with his apparent preference will cause even more trouble for Tejo

Which is another reason why I don't want her to return to the Virk's ever.
