Chapter 4 :- Face off
In past she had always appreciated the Rajvanshi Mansion , it was the most beautiful luxurious house she'd ever see but now when she stepped in the house with her child in her arms, it felt extremely weird as if she wasn't supposed to be there atleast not with Avya
"Chakor???" Bhagya placed her hand on Chakor's shoulder knowing exactly what she might be thinking
"you're okay????" She asked
"More than you think" She pushed away all the negative thoughts , life did teach her many lesson and one that she'd apply the most during last four years it was there's no gain in being a pessimist
"I gelatii... lo voilo tutti , dammi lo" Her daughter mumbled sleepily in her arms , struggling out as if trying to reach the ice creams she was dreaming of
While Chakor simply smiled at her antics , Bhagya remained confused "She sleeps talk??? what is she saying???"
"Oh just about how she wants ice creams and it should be given to her" Chakor laughed forgetting all the questioned she had troubling her "she's always doing it about food , i mean i am foodie too but nobody ever complained me sleep talking about foods guess she's one step further to me"
Is what she said but Bhagya had the right idea from where this habit was from and it was definitely not Chakor's genes speaking, she shook her head planning to change the topic , her friend had enough in her plates she'd not want to add on it , "Alright lets go to your room, i got all ready , mom dad are out for a dinner at some place, Vivaan is busy doing i dunno what , Ragini is out with her friends and Suraj..."She stopped looking at Chakor wondering if she'd want to know about suraj
"If i never asked you anything about him during this four years what makes you think i'd like to know about him now?" She answered facing her friends back , she genuinely never wished to know about Him or her sister , or even what happened that caused her sister to shift from vivaan to suraj , they could be married or rotting in some corner none of that concerned her
Bhagya nodded to her friend's maturity , opening the room she had set for her
It was a simple comfortable room , just like she liked it , "Thank god a bed , i badly want to sleep"
"You're sure you don't want to eat anything Chakor"
She had asked her the same question more than 10 times , but she wasn't hungry, sitting in the plane made her muscles grow stiff , all she needed was a hot shower and sleep
She shook her head placing her baby on the bed who happily got comfortable against the softness and rushed to the washroom with her clothes in hands
She had no idea what did future reserve for her but her today belonged to her and her baby
The following morning she woke up with Avya laying on her stomach wide awake but quiet , she had her hands hanging on both her sides , she smiled, placing her fingers in Avya's hairs brushing them softly
"Goodmorning Princess" She said softly attracting her little eyes to her , she revealed her teeth to her mother pulling herself closer to her face , leaving a kiss on her cheeks ,that'd be their morning ritual
"Good...morning mumma" he placed her lips at her ears and whispered "there're voices"
Chakor frowned as her frightened look and concentrated her hearing on the surrounding and
"i told you i need more your time i feel stupid sometimes"
"It's a crucial moment , i need your support and understanding more than anything"
The voices seemed extremely familiar to Chakor , soo much she started hating her decision of staying in this house but the door opened loudly revealing an over excited Bhagya
"Goodmorning beauty and peasant" She greeted
Chakor straightened her posture looking at her friend , "peasant huh??? i should rethink about staying here" She teased Bhagya who raised her eyebrows at her
"Beauty and beauty is it okay now????" She sigh defeatedly earning a chuckle from Chakor
"Goodmorn..ing zia" Avya said cheerfully
Before Bhagya could say more , Chakor spoke "Baby , as we are in India , i will like you call Bhagya , MASI instead of Zia" Chakor motherly explained to Avya causing Bhagya to smile wide , it was truly honorable how Her bestfriend gave her such a beautiful title
"What's masi?" Avya asked
"Masi is Just like a mother and it's the way you call mumma's sister" Chakor explained calmly
"Okay then ,Goodmorning Ma...si" Just as she ended ,Bhagya pulled her in her arms , kissing her cheeks , how could her brother say no to such a beautiful thing
"Damn,you made me emotional" She said them swiftly changed the topic ," Okay get and join and us downstairs for Breakfast , mom dad want to meet you"
Facing the parents , it would have been tough , perhaps if they'd know Avya was their Granddaughter but she wasn't bothered , she picked Avya in her arms and both got in the washroom , brushing their teeth and showering
She wrapped her fingers around Avya's one guiding her downstairs
She was clueless of all's eyes being on her , her attention were all directed to her daughter
4 years , he was seeing her after 4 long years , and damn is it just him or she had grown up to be soo pretty , the wind blowing her hairs making it look thicker and shinnier , she wore a black kneelength dress which complemented her skin amazingly , showing off her dangling silver earing as she push a strand of hair behind her ears , his eyes followed her hands and saw the most beautiful child he'd ever encounter , bouncing from steps to step ,smiling at her mother like she was more precious toy she were given too
It seemed like two chakor were descending the stairs , one elder and one little but yet the ressemblance between the two couldnt go unnoticed
That was his daughter, a sudden realization which made him skip a heartbeat , he suddenly felt uncomfortable sitting on the breakfast table surrounded with his parents , heck his fiancee who sat besides him, he took a look at Imli whose mouth remained gaped open, equally fixing Chakor , she was really there , but how? and why?
Once down she looked at the breakfast table , her past were sitting there it was show time and she'd not fail herself , she ignored the people who din't deserve her attention an greeted the elders
"Goodmorning" her tone clearly depicting her well manners , having Tejaswini and kamal Narayen Rajvanshi stand to greet the girl they were still surprised to see
The last time they saw Chakor she was a girl but now they could clearly see she grew up in a beautiful mature woman
"Oh god , look at you , you are even prettier Chakor" Tejaswini moved hugging Chakor , who gladly hugged her back "And who is this little angel" She asked looking at Avya who shyly stepped behind her mother
She knelt to Avya pulling her infront of her , Avya was normally not a shy kid but she often did get nervous infront of elderly people , all were because of the old lady who stayed next door to them , all she did were yelling all day at her cats
"Avi baby , they are elders and nice one , you know they will even give you toys , and moreover you do remember what did mumma teach you when you see a good elderly person right" She explained in a.motherly tone which made all watch her in awe , the little princess listened to her mother carefully and bravely nodded her head bouncing the ponytail Chakor made tied her hairs in
She walked to Tejaswini and her husband , bending and taking their blessing causing the old couple to admire her , they laughed proudly , picking up the little girl who relatively calmed down at their warm touch "God bless you"
"What is your name little angel" They asked her and she replied in her baby tone"Avya"
Suraj mouthed the name slowly as if testing how it's pronounce
"It's a beautiful name" He suddenly said loudly attracting all except Chakor attention but even their attention lasted barely a few seconds on him it was soon all diverted back to chakor who actually din't care his approval on Avya's name , he din't have any right
"You know Chakor when we heard about your pregnancy even we misunderstood you , Bhagya did try to make us understand but in a corner of our mind it did feel you played with your reputation" Tejaswini said as Chakor felt her inside churning , she din't want to be wrongly judged
"But you know now after seeing you and your daughter , it's clear , you're a responsible mature girl , you are well mannered and you instilled the same in your daughter" They continued to praise her while she felt her confidence rush back to her and she returned the favor by sending a smile to them
Soon they took their place on the table , Tejaswini wanting her to sit close to her asked Imli and suraj to shift two seats further for chakor and avya which caused Bhagya to snicker
"What happened??" Kamal narayen asked to his daughter confusedly
"Nothing papa , wedding jitters" She laughed lowly and stopped as she realized Chakor's glare
Not once she looked at Suraj and imli which did piss off the two , yes Suraj was happy She did good in her life and it was clear she raised their child with uttermost bravery but what was she being attitudish at
"So what will you little princess eat???" Tejaswini asked as Avya looked at her mother as if asking her to answer at her place
"She'll eat anything with carrot in it" she pinched Avya's little nose while she spoke
"Perfect then , we have Gajar ka halwa here" Tejaswini smiled as she served her "do you mind if i feed you???" She asked Avya lovingly who shook her head in a no smiling widely
Her smile could bring a stone alive , Suraj couldn't help but feel proud as he watched his mother feed the little girl his most favorite dish and she was eating it with equal excitement as he does since it was his favorite dish too , looks like she did share some similarities to him too , he wondered if he had accepted Avya before would his parents have adored Avya as they were doing now
"Chakor i heard about your Successful venture in Italy" Kamal Narayen praised her , he had actually heard a lot of good things about Chakor's business techniques , every good businessman would want her as an asset to guide their company as people in his group circle said
"Well It took me a few years and struggle but i managed to do it" She replied modestly while Imli scoffed according to her it was all show off ,she was ignored as the elder man continued speaking
"Now that you are here i'd dearly appreciate if you could teach my dear son here some of your business technique , he seems to be hell bent on drowning my business eversince he took up the reins" He said clearly insulting his son who angrily gripped his napkin , He was doing everything possible to save the business and yet his father was insulting him , infront of Chakor????
"Uncle , i am not sure if anyone would need my supervision , anyways one tip what i could give will be success comes with maturity" She said returning back to her breakfast
Her each word were acting like needle at his ego
"well said , i still can't believe that guy left you , you are a beautiful responsible girl , if anything like that had happened to any of my daughters i'd make sure that jerk pay a hefty amount to secure my grand daughter's life and not forget beat him up until he regrets having had forsaken his responsibility" As his father ended he started coughing drastically , Imli rushed pouring a glass of water for him , rubbing his back
For the first time Chakor addressed to Suraj and that too while laughing , "You know it's said that when someone chokes on food , it means that someone is cursing you"
Even bhagya couldn't hold her laughters at those words , "i think that's true too"
He had enough of those insults , she was avoiding him and when he was choking , she took up the opportunity to insult him , he was about to retort back but before she started replying to his father
"Uncle i don't need his money , infact i never needed his money" She said remembering the time he said she was after his money , she was sure even he was thinking about that , "I needed his support but he was perhaps way too much of a loser and he chickened out , in a way i am really happy he din't share my responsibility with Avi , since now i don't have to share my daughter with him, Avya is only my daughter , she doesn't need him" she made it clear indirectly to suraj she was not going to let him close to Avya
He frowned to himself hearing those words , and looked at Chakor then to Avya who were careless about the intense arguement , happily eating her halwa , he gulped feeling a sudden ache at his heart , it was weird , he felt like he was being robbed by a priced possession and its been just a few minutes he saw the kid , she din't even acknowledge his presence, damn his guilt feeling was punching his guts
"You're alright Suraj???" Imli asked breaking her silence , she had enough of the Praise chakor campaign , it was ever since her birth , Chakor is a good student , Chakor is responsible , Chakor is this Chakor is that , it was innerving , when her sister left , she was okay with the idea but damn she did never think Chakor would be back with twice stars adding in her glory
"Yeah Imli" he smiled at her he lowered his face back to eating his halwa
"Anyways Papa , Chakor doesn't have to worry about any guy in her life" Bhagya suddenly said , Suraj left the spoon instantly , 'so it was like he thought she'd have some guy booked in her kitty , after all she din't do it all aloone ,she did depend on a certain guy' but still he din't like that thought , he wasn't attracted or liked Chakor , perhaps it was the idea of his child being fathered by someone else which din't go right with him
"Soo many guys proposed her still she kept on turning them down still they go gaga over her and ever ready be Avi's daddy but miss Chakor never accepted" Chakor rolled her eyes as she heard her , true many guys proposed her but she wasn't into depending her life on a man, besides she din't trust anyone enough with Avya
Once again a punch at his guts , 'She did it alone ,there was no guy?!!'
"That is because my Ray of sunshine , my daughter is always by my side , excess sunlight can be injurious to health" She replied sassily , that was enough for Suraj
He abrupted stood up causing his father to glare at him , "what is this kind of manners suraj???"
"I have some important work , i need to go" Saying so he left the table without turning a single time
She felt Victorious at heart , she did it and she counts to keep it going
She happily returned back to her breakfast least bothered by Suraj's walkout but she was then disturbed by her phone rings
She could see all looking at her quizzically , "it was on roaming" She explained looking at the screen, "can you all please excuse me" She politely asked , having had the nod she stood to receive the call
She returned back after a few minutes " Who was mumma???" Her daughter asked wanting to stand off her chair now , she couldn't stay at a place for a lot of time , she was always bored
"That was from company members baby , duty calls , they will send a cab in a few minutes and we will go" She explained understanding her daughter and picking her in her arms
"But Chakor you arrived yesterday , how can you rejoin work so early" Bhagya argued
"I know Bhagya but we'll be setting a new branch, just the settlement , office hunt will be taking soo much time , we can't waste time if i want to be settled in india" She explained professionally , something which Kamal Narayen could pay to see in someone
"She's right Bhagya , let her do her work anyway shes staying here, you will get to spend a lot of more time with her"
"Thank you uncle" She said gratefully
"Fine but atleast leave Avya here , i will look after her" She insisting wanting to spend some more time with her niece
Chakor looked at Avya who looked back at her mother cutely , "Will you stay with masi?" She asked pouting her lips , looking just like her daughter as she did that , the others awed at the duo
"Masi has the toys remember" Bhagya said slowly reminding Avya
"Oye, stop bribing my daughter" She cuddled with her
"Star con masi" She said slowly , Chakor looked at her faking a betrayed face , she laughed at how funny her mumma looked
"What was that?" Bhagya asked
"She said she will go with me , right baby" She kissed her sloppily on her cheeks , the house echoing with Avya's babyish giggling
"No no avii will stay with masii" she giggled more her mother pouted dejectedly laying her head on her little shoulder
Imli never saw her sister's childish side, she was surprised seeing it all from far , tired of being ignore , she left the house angrily
"Fine just look after her , i will go get my laptop and files from my room , andplease you two no skateboard , no over doing sugaries and please be good" she warned the two , still unable to decide if she made the right decision , between Bhagya and avya it was hard to choose who was the most childish
"don't you trust me?? i will handle all"
"I don't trust you , thats the point" She grinned teasingly at her bestfriend and daughter turned on her heels
She was in her room looking for her laptop and files when she heard the door close , she turned and found Suraj , she stayed surprisingly calm, just dropped the files and laptop on the bed crossing her arms , an act which made Suraj nervous soo much he'd forget all the confrontation dialogue he been preparing in his head
She raised her eyebrows staying quiet , she wanted him to speak , she wanted to know what did he think
"i...i need to talk" he initiated dumbly , cursing himself as he faced Chakor who stayed in the same posture daring him to talk
He gulped and continued , "I have no idea of the mind play you are playing , Avoid me then insult me in my own house" He nearly screamed his frustration out , it'd been irritating him since he saw her doing that , it was killing him , on one side he wanted to talk to the child he recognizes his but on the other he knew he had to talk to the mother first
After a few seconds he realized she stayed quiet, quietly calm , "Say something will you , this is getting stupid now!!!" He scolded harder
She was hoping he'd say more or she was perhaps again expecting too much him , she grinned and sighing "alright , ignoring the fact that i don't owe you any explanation i'd still do you the favor of answering you , i can atleast do that for the few drops of sperm you invested for my angel" She said sarcastically , a sarcasm which sounded like an abuse to Suraj's ego but he still stayed quiet
"first of all , i ignored you because you don't matter to be Suraj , you're a nobody , like a big fat Zero" She locked her eyes with him , she could feel a cloud of hurt invading his eyes but she din't care and continued , "And also i wasn't insulting you now you can't really blame me if the shoe fits, lastly about your house well i don't want to be here too , So if you have any issue with it please knock at your sister's door" she explained as his anger won over
"Damn it is not that" he finally shouted out his guilt "What did you want me to do????? damn it Chakor it was a mistake , i could not have told dad about it, he'd disown me, and for once i swear i'd think to support you but my love won the best of me" he explained angrily yet desperately
When he was pouring his feelings out he'd not expect Chakor to laugh at him once he was done
"You're laughing ??? really???" he felt like being ridiculed by her
"obviously , you said your dad would have disowned you , the man who was downstairs praising me for having raised MY DAUGHTER on My own...and Imli Your love?? you are still standing on the verge you were 4 years ago with her while me Suraj , i was disowned by my parents still i survived , am successful , moved on and yes i have my child with whom i have the best relationship ever" She said smirking at his face , he just got a reality check but he refused all she said was right
"I am happy with Imli , believe it or not but i was guilty for what happened between you and your parents but see even my sibblings doesn't talk to me anymore" he did suffer too dammit
"Don't you dare compare what happened between me and my parents to yours and your sibblings" Her calm stature was lost , how dare he???? She was tagged as a s**t by her sister , her parents think she slept around soo much she'd not know who impregnant him and he think what he lived was same????
"What i lived with my parents were because of my dedication towards my responsibility but you , its because of your selfishness but i don't give a damn shit about it , because you see i am happy with MY DAUGHTER" She spatted angrily
"Right, i was selfish , i still am , if wanting my own betterment is selfishness then i am better off being selfish , you just don't understand do you? and for heaven sake she is my child too " he yelled finally saying which he was refusing to bring to his mouth , Chakor looked at him with disbelief , was this man for real??
"Oh lord!! Your child???" She laughed bitterly , "I never thought id ever hear that coming from you , but does 'get rid of it' ring a bell???" she said remembering the day she told him about her pregnancy
Yes he did say that but he was scared!!! He was always compared to the better sibblings , Vivaan was good at sports , bhagya was good at studies , he was just the Rajvanshi who tried to be good , he tried to perfect all to look good in his dad's eyes how could he have lost it?????
"I know i said it but you have to understand why i did" He was not liking this new chakor , it seemed she din't have a heart , earlier it was fun to tease her , bully her but it seemed he was being bullied by her at that moment
"Okay lets assume i understood , Avya is your daughter as you said , go and tell that to the others" she said watching Suraj's face lower down , he was still a coward
"What do you expect me to do ??? tell Avya you are her father , you get to play daddy in private but you will be too ashame to accept her in public???" she was bitter but she was bang on the point
True what did Suraj expect , he couldn't accept Avya but he wanted Chakor to stop making him feel guilty , he'd go mad with all the taunting , ignorings
"I dunno but atleast stop acting this way" He said randomly
"Which way??? , listen as i said i am what i am now , not anymore the easy going highschool or college girl you could bully around for funsake, so why don't you buzz off with your whininess and learn to take it like a man" she said picking up her laptop and files she moved towards the exit but before she turned and said "Suraj you do remember how you signed your rights off on those papers right??? then know those are legally registered papers now , not only by say but even legally you are Not avya's father"
And just like that she left , leaving Suraj speechless
He moved to the balcony looking at Avya playing with his sister in the garden, her laughters made him want to laugh along with her , strange, since he was never a fan of toddlers if anything he hated how annoying they were but this kid made him want to raise an army like her but Chakor was right what did he actually want , accept her? what will all say , what will Imli say, it was too late , soo much roaming in his mind made him dizzy
He was Crazy and selfish just as Chakor said , perhaps if he tried to make it up to Avya his guilt will lessen , but Chakor wouldn't want him near Avya , she was sure about that ...he thought harder but looking at the kid afar stir to wish to get to know and the best won , he'd talk to Avya no matter what Chakor said .
