True... "Bella has a very private mind" is such a vague explanation... umm im not talking abt breaking dawn, i was referring to twilight. She was a humangirl and very much like Jessica or Angela then what made her different that Edward failed to read her mind. She dint have the power of shielding when she came to Forks, the powers came once she turned to a vamp and that happened in breaking dawn😕 ..that kept her mind a secret from Edward which is possible probability but why in the 1st book?

Is it possible that she was born with some supernatural powers😛. Like she was a magnet to accidents n all, she had the sweetest scent that did the churning effct in the vamps.. and smth she had within herself since she was born that kept her mind not readable for edward..

I agree with Radz! Bella had her sheilding power when she was human..coz when she met the Volturi that was the case then too! So thats prolly the reason for why Edward could never hear her mind..and the only time he could was at the end of BD when Bella wanted him to be able to!
