Chapter 23

Kanak popped the pills and Uma screamed he tried to remove the ropes but couldn't do so he was screaming at his place but Kanak couldn't hear him and fall to asleep. Mahesh and sonal take her to washroom and made her sleep in the bathtub and filled the bathtub with water. The tap water was filling in the tub and Kanak was drowing slowly. Mahesh said tomorrow headline will be prime accused in Rahul murder case died in an accident . Due to stress she had popped sleeping pills and in sleep walking she landed in washroom and died as the bathtub was filled so she died. And now what about you . Sonal said you can kill him the way you want but we have to make sure that his dead body should not be found remember he is an officer if he found dead than every police officer would be our enemy. Mahesh said you are right sonal we will kill him here and destroy his body he will be disappeared for the world. Mahesh removed a knife and said you should be thankful to me every lover wants to die with his beloved and I am giving you this opportunity. He was about to stabbed Uma than the bullet fired . Sonal turned around it was ved with the police force and Mahesh was dead on the spot. Ved had fired 6 bullets on him. Ved just came to Uma and untied him. Uma said let's go and check Kanak hope she is fine. They both went to washroom door but it was locked. Uma told ved to fire the gun on lock as well. They both opened the door tub was filled with water and Kanak was drown Uma take her out from the tub. Ved said I will call to ambulance. Uma pressed her stomach and her back. Water was coming out from her mouth. Than he gave her mouth to mouth she reacted. Ved said Uma ambulance is at the door just take her to hospital. They both take her to hospital. Ved slapped sonal and said Mahesh is dead now so you will not get anything better you do confession.

In hospital doctor gave the first aid to Uma. Uma asked about Kanak. Doctor said she has received a timely treatment but the dose of pills were high so will take time to gain consciousness. Ved said so buddy your were right there was an involvement of third person. But how do you know that it was sonal and Mahesh there relation was secret even Kanak didn't know about it. Did you know it before. Uma said no not before this case but during it there were clues which has helped me. Ved said clues which clues I didn't notice anything. Uma said I will tell you everything while making report but I am tired now and anyways it's very late so let's go. And what about sonal. Ved said she is ready to give confession. Uma said that good but her confession is recorded . Ved said but how Mahesh had made confession without proper checking. Uma said he had checked me and at that time I was not carrying anything but the camera and recorder had planted last night itself. Remember I had told you that I have made arrangements to welcome the killer. It was my camera. Ved asked how come Kanak don't know about it. Uma replied if you didn't notice how can she. Tell me anything that I am missing. Ved checked him from top to bottom and said nothing you are fine. Uma smiled and said my pen remember you had given me while I was going to visit her. I knew that Mahesh would surely make an alibi for him so this was necessary and he made confession about his earlier crimes as well but I had never expected that he will die. Ved said I saw he was about to stab you so I killed him. Uma said don't worry it's in defense and he was the criminal so nothing will happen to you but I am worried about Kanak she has lost everything her best friend and her family. Ved said but she have you . Uma what's your decision. Uma said simple I want her back and I have already told her. Ved said that is great but what about your mom I mean she don't like her and now there is a least possibility. And you have to take a strong stand for Kanak so your real struggle starts from here. Uma said you are right I have to tell her.

Doctor came and said that it's better if Uma takes rest tomorrow after examination he will be discharged. Uma asked and what about Kanak. Doctor said we will keep her under observation till tomorrow maybe day after tomorrow you can take her. Ved said okay buddy you take rest I will go collect the pen from her house and in the meantime take the authentication report as well from lab it will be useful in court proceedings. Ved left from the hospital.

Chapter 24

Ved collected the pen from Kanak's house and made a tape of the recording as well as took the authentication report from the lab as well. Ved arrived at hospital and checked with doctor for Uma. Doctor said he is absolutely fine no need to worry can be discharged now. Ved thanked him and left. Uma was getting ready ved said congratulations for your next resolved case your track record is 100 % and commissioner is very happy with the results. No one had expected this and if you were not there they would surely punished Kanak. Uma said that's not possible till I am alive nobody can harm her. Ved said fine now back to work I have to make a report so please go ahead in detail what clues you found and how this case was resolved.

Uma said okay let's begin from the start at rahul's house we got his cellphone and his bank statements says that he had withdraw 50 lakhs previous day that is on Friday next day he was murdered. And don't forget about the button as well and finger print on his mobile. Ved said I know that but this was all discussed what's new. Uma said first from the message it's clear he was waiting someone and that someone was killer that means Rahul knows the killer and the killer was his friend and maybe he has promised to bring something for him. Second he had shared drinks with the killer. Cash was missing that means after killing the killer had taken the cash with him and he had cleaned everything but not button that clearly shows that killer didn't know about button. Maybe when Rahul was trying to rape Kanak that time the button had fell so sonal didn't knew about it. She cleaned everything but later on realized that the message and pictures which she had sent to Rahul is still on his phone so she was trying to unlock his phone with his fingerprint but couldn't succeed and thrash his phone so both could be found. Ved asked why couldn't she unlock the phone. Uma said it was a latest iPhone and it could be unlocked through his eyes so it was her badluck. While retrieving the data I saw that pictures in his phone but deleted it as I don't want them to be seen by anyone else. Ved said after all she is your girl should I mention this deleting part in report. Uma said just mention it got erased but it was again a proof that killer is known to Kanak and often visit her room infact her hostel bathroom as most pictures are taken from there and Kanak doesn't have many friends infact she was a reserve girl so only sonal can take her pictures as she was her roommate.

Uma continued but while I had visited the hostel I checked the CCTV footage of corridor no one use to visit her in her room. And I made the enquiry for sonal bank account as well. On Monday she had deposited a huge amount. So it's confirmed that it was sonal who had sent messages pictures and was the one available at the crime scene. But still motive was unclear as if only money was concerned she would have left her there and again take her back to the hostel she doesn't need to kill Rahul I was sure that the motive was something else. And I hit the jackpot when gaurav bailed Kanak. Ved said so what. Uma replied Mahesh was trying from days to bail her out but couldn't and gaurav just in one day arranged for her bail doesn't it sounds strange. And the base of this case was sleepwalking but Kanak never sleep walked while in jail nor in hospital and Rahul use to mentally torture her for almost a year but according to her classmates or watchman they had never noticed any sleep walking habits in her. Infact she was with me for almost a year and I had never saw any such thing. Ved said I am deleting your part only classmate and watchman is fine. Uma said I am telling this for you. Okay coming back I understand that Mahesh never tried for her bail. And you told me that she will inherit her property next month. But there is a clause which states that in anything happens to her the property will transfer to her legal heir which was Mahesh.

Ved asked when do you came to know that both are involved. Uma said this was a favor of luck. That night when Mahesh had planned to kill Rahul unfortunately yamini was following him she didn't get anything apart from car number. Ved said right so. Uma said did you noticed who had booked the car . It was sonal. She made a mistake but I must say not knowingly as she didn't knew that yamini would be after them car booking must be done on Thursday or Friday . And remember that hair that we had found on the backseat. Ved said yes and according to DNA test it belongs to Kanak. Uma said yes according to Kanak that night she felt like she was lying on the back of the car but couldn't see anything. So that means that night after giving her pills sonal left hired this car picked up Mahesh and came back to hostel take Kanak on the backseat and drove to rahul's house. Rahul was waiting for her. She made Kanak to sleep on his bed and while he was alone came to him and murdered him. Not forgot to clean everything. And next morning reached to Goa for shoot. Ved asked and what about the alibi.

Uma said just checked for whose agency she works. Ved said oh yes Mahesh also owns an ad agency so she works for him. Uma said yes and that too for last 5 years that means since her friendship with Kanak so maybe Mahesh had told her to keep an eye on her . Ved said accepted but how do you know that they will attack again. Uma said all thanks to you you had send me to her house. Mahesh called her to confirm whether she is alone or not. Kanak lied to him that she is alone in the house and they tried but unfortunately I was there so they couldn't do it. I was sure that they will try once again so while leaving her house I left my pen there and everything is a history. I doubted that Mahesh might have killed her parents so I asked him and he was overconfident so he accepted all his crimes. Ved said okay I will make the reports tonight and submit it to commissioner next morning and you go to hospital. Ved continued don't I know how much you are worried for her.

Ved continued his work and Uma left.

Chapter 25

Uma explained everything to ved for the reports and left to visit Kanak in the hospital. Doctor said she is fine but she is going through mental trauma so better take care of her. Uma said he will. Uma came inside her room she was standing near window. He made her sit on bed and gave her flowers but can see sadness in her eyes. Uma said whatever happened was not your fault so why are you punishing yourself I know that it's very hard for you to forget and I will never tell you to do so it's not forgive and forget but to forgive and move on and you have to move on in your life. Kanak asked for whom. Uma said for me for us. He hold her hands and said that I want to always hold this hands for rest of life. Kanak said still you want . Uma kissed her hand and said yes still and will always. I can't forget you Kanak I tried my best but failed and now I realized that to live and to happily live are two different things I may live without you as I have a family to take care but to be happy I need you. So please be there with me. Kanak asked what if your family doesn't accept me. He said they will and if they not we will see what can be done but I need you. She said okay if they are ready so I don't have any problems. But let's first take their consent. Uma said yes I will I leave today itself and will be back with them. She smiled and he came near to her to kiss her but she stopped him and said after marriage so wait . He smiled back.

Uma told ved to take care of everything he will be back soon. Ved said yes he will . Uma reached to his house Massisa opened the door and welcomed him he saw there were guest at his house. Uma asked what's all this . Massisa said just go inside change and come back. He didn't understand anything. After sometime he came back. Massisa introduced him with everyone. Uma asked who are they. Massisa replied they are here for your alliance with Palomi. Uma was shocked. He said he wants to say something and asked Massisa and Maasa to come inside but Massisa denied to go inside. Uma said okay so I will take here itself. I am in love with someone and has promised her that I will marry her so I am sorry I am not ready for this alliance. Massisa said what are you saying you had given your consent for marriage and then we had started looking for a girl and before a week you were ready to get married so what happened now. Uma said Massisa I was not in correct state of mind so I said yes and last time when I talked to you I was angry but now I can't marry anyone accept her. So please . Maasa folded her hands and told guest to leave and said sorry for whatever happened. They badmouth about them and left.

Maasa said it's not you Uma it's her that mad girl. Uma said Maasa her name is Kanak and better if you take her name with respect after all she is your would be daughter in law. Maasa said no she will not. Uma tried to calm her down and said Maasa she was never insane it was Mahesh who did this all for her property she is absolutely fine. Maasa said whatever the case maybe but she will never enter my house. Saras said Maasa we can talk calmly if she is fine we can think about her. Maasa said no means no I will never accept her. Uma said Maasa she is with me and I am not gonna leave her side. And if she doesn't have place in this house so I will also not stay here. I will leave this house. Massisa said what are you saying you are leaving us for her. Uma said Massisa I swear I don't want but I can't leave her when she needs me the most. Maasa said okay so if you have made the decision so what I can say. But listen to me that girl is not capable of becoming wife so forget about daughter in law. Uma went inside and packed her belongings and left the house.

Kanak was waiting for him in Ooty he arrived Kanak checked. Uma said I am here what are you searching. Kanak said Maasa didn't came with you where is she. Uma said Massisa was not well so she didn't came but they have send their blessing and told us to get married ASAP. Kanak said Uma Massisa is not well how can we get married first let's go and meet her once she is fine than we will think. Uma said no Maasa has ordered me to come with her daughter in law so let's get married and than I will take you to house. Ved said yes that's fine. Infact I have made arrangements for your marriage in family court you can get married tomorrow itself. Kanak said but without presence of elders it doesn't look nice. Uma said don't worry once we reach Mumbai all the ritual will be done. Kanak said okay. Uma said ved I need to tell you something. Ved said I know saras has informed me everything that's why I made all the arrangements here. Once you both get married Maasa can't do much. Uma said thanks buddy but remember Kanak should not know anything. Ved said I promise.

Next day in the marriage registrar's office Uma was waiting for her. Kanak arrived she was wearing a red saree. Uma was mesmerized by her. Ved said first get married you will have a life to stare her. Ved was standing with garland and rings. They signed and exchanged rings and garland and got married.

Chapter 26.

Uma and Kanak got married. Ved congratulated Kanak and said all the best to Uma. Uma said thanks need it. Ved asked are you going to Mumbai today itself. Uma said no not today but maybe tomorrow or day after tomorrow. Ved said I will go and make arrangements for both of you in Mumbai. Uma said okay bye. Kanak asked ved where are you going. Ved answered Mumbai. Kanak replied but why so soon wait till tomorrow we will be going together. Ved said what I will do between both of you. You both enjoy your time. And anyways we will meet in Mumbai. Ved waved them and left.

Yamini and gaurav came to meet her. Yamini said congratulations to both of you and Uma you must be knowing that Kanak has decided to give all her money to charity. Uma said I am least bothered about it. It belongs to her and she can do whatever she wants and I am capable of taking care of my wife's needs so don't worry about it. Gaurav said Kanak I am happy about it. At last you got what you wanted in life. A lovable partner and a good family. And Kanak I truly have feelings for you but that is not of any use now but I am genuinely happy for both of you. Kanak thanked him and said gaurav thanks for your good wishes and sorry if I hurted you but I have loved only one person in my life and that's Uma. Gaurav said I know please don't be sorry just be happy. Kanak said I will.

Uma and Kanak entered to their honeymoon suite. Uma carried her in his arms and laid her down on bed. He played soft music. Kanak was feeling shy. Uma said Kanak I know this all happened between us prior as well but today when I am looking at you you seems to be entirely new person like a new Kanak and today I am not afraid of anything I have a right to love you. Kanak said Uma if you have forgotten you said that all the rituals would be done once we reach your home so if everything is waiting so let's wait for this as well. Uma said no never today is my golden night and I will not waste it. Kanak was about to say but he kissed her and said Kanak I love you and want to make love to you. Don't you love me. She said yes. He said so what's the problem let's start our married life and today nothing will matter. She smiled. Uma said that's not my Kanak she use to say yes in a different way. Kanak kisses him back. He said yes that's my girl . He removed his shirt and removed her saree. She closed her eyes. He said open them and look at me. Tonight every moment is memorable for us. She opened her eyes and gave a tight hug to him . He kissed her on her neck shoulders and moved her hair from her back and open the knots. For next sometime they forgot everything . they were complete by each other. He had longed for her love and she for him. At after a wait for almost a year that night had arrived. They are for each other and belong to each other.

Next morning Kanak was packing bags. Uma said let's stay here for some more days . Kanak said no Uma Maasa must be waiting for us. We should leave. Uma tried but Kanak was so happy that he could not say anything. He knew that this bubble will burst. But he cannot do much. So they left for Mumbai. Ved came to receive them on airport. Ved said I have made all the arrangements your flat is ready with the sea view and all the cleaning and maintenance has been done. He hand over the keys to him. Uma take Kanak to his flat. Saras and vansh were already there so saras did her grahapravesh. Kanak was still looking around. She asked Uma whose house is this. Uma said it's our love nest. How is it. Kanak asked Uma be clear. Uma said okay this house is my property some years before I had purchased it as an investment but now we will live here. And it's a 3 bedroom apartment with all the modern amenities you will be comfortable here. Kanak asked but why we are not going to our house. Saras said bhabhisa until Maasa accept you both how can you go there. Kanak was shocked. She asked but Maasa has accepted me right she has blessed both of us. Saras said no bhabhisa unfortunately it didn't happen. Maasa has not accepted you infact Dadusa has left the house to marry you. You are very lucky to have someone like him. He will be there for you always. Kanak looked at Uma. And ran inside the room. Uma came after him. She was crying. Uma tried to console her and said I am sorry Kanak I didn't wanted to hurt you but what to do Maasa was about to fix my alliance with somebody else which I don't wanted and if I didn't married you she would have blackmail me emotionally and would have married me to someone of her choice. So I married to you and this is the second reason. She raised her head and asked what was the first reason. Uma said first reason was I wanted to marry you that's it. She said Uma I am a bad omen. My parents died when I was young my uncle and best friend betrayed me and now I am part of your life so messed that as well. Please leave me and go back to you house. Uma said are you mad you are my wife now and I can't Leave you . This phrase is hard for both of us but when we are together nothing is hard. So this phrase will also go. They hugged each other.

Chapter 27

It has been 1 year since Uma left the house and married to Kanak. In this year Kanak several times tried to reconcile but Maasa would say something hurtful to her and many a times Uma didn't know about it . But saras was constantly touch with Uma. Last night Uma threw a lavish party on completion of his one year. Everyone enjoyed Uma never leave any stone unturned to make her happy. Yamini is still the same but gaurav is still a family friend and he had also attended the party. Next morning saras visited Maasa with a cake. Maasa again stat saying hurtful things about Kanak. Vansh just excused himself and said I am waiting for you outside. Maasa asked now what happened to him. Saras said ved and vansh has consider her as his sister and you are bad mouthing about her so he didn't like it. And Maasa don't you get tired with this lie that she has snatched Dadusa. Infact the truth is Dadusa is very happy with her and it's your stubborness because of which Dadusa has left the house. He had proved everything that Mahesh had planned it. And that unfortunate night I was with you she had attacked me as well but still I am ready to forget everything but still you are not. Last year has been a very good year for Dadusa he has been awarded. Kanak called you for celebration but you denied . He got promoted but nothing matter to you apart from your ego. And what ego is this which can't bend for your children as well. Maasa said now you are also blaming me. Saras said as parents point of mistakes of children children should also try to rectify their mistake and I am doing the same. She is a very sweet girl. Dadusa is alive and very happy with her and she is the one who still want you back. Maasa reconcile ball is still in your court. And yes one more thing she is expecting her first child. Dadusa is going to be father soon. Maasa just looked at Saras. It's true today morning we got the news we have already congratulated them. Now it's your wish. Vansh is waiting for me. I will leave now. She put the cake on the table and left. After Uma had gone Maasa and Massisa were living alone in a large house. Maasa couldn't take this fact that her son left her for someone. Still the news of becoming Grandma was the thing she had been waiting for.

In his house Uma was making breakfast and Kanak was taking shower. Though he is not a cook but still he was trying. Almost burning everything. Smoke in the kitchen. He put off the gas and opened the window. The smoke went outside. He just looked around the mess he has created. He said being a CBI officer is much easier than chef it's better if I order something. Kanak came and hugged him from behind. She said Mr chef let me pay you first she kissed him on his back. Uma pulled her on front. Her wet hair and morning glow. She was wearing his shirt and shorts. He said is this a new trick to impress me. She said yes it is am I not looking good. He kissed her and make her sit on the table and started to make on. She was laughing and said you are always in mood to make out. He said it's like you always look so hot. She said yes that's why there is a smoke here right. He said maybe. She said you start to clean up I will make the breakfast. He said I have a better idea let's order something from outside and we can make out in free time. Kanak said last night there was a party still it's not cleaned so first let's clean the house than we will have our breakfast and then we can continue. He kissed her and said just give me sometime and left from the kitchen. Door bell rang Kanak said him to open the door maybe maid has arrived. Uma opened it and it was Maasa.

Uma was shocked and surprised to see Maasa and Massisa both at door. He welcomed them. Still the chef hat was there on his head. He removed it and asked them to sit. Massisa looked around clothes were lying on sofa. Paper plates and glasses. House was in mess. Uma said last night there was a party and maid had not arrived till now so . kanak came out holding a plate. She was also surprised. She just looked at them and tried to hide behind the chair. Massisa said go and first change we are here for sometime. Kanak just ran inside. Uma offered them breakfast

Massisa said saras told me that you are very happy but never told me that you live in such a mess. In your house you have never bothered to put the shoes in the place and now you are cleaning really what a change. Uma said Massisa this is also my house and I can't put everything on her. Kanak arrived and bend to seek their blessing but Maasa stopped her and said don't you know it's not good to bend in these days. You have to be a little careful. And Uma this is not her house. Kanak was upset by Maasa words. Maasa continued tell her to pack her bags. Uma said she will not leave from here if she goes than I will also. Massisa said exactly our point both of you will pack your bags and come with us. Maasa smiled and said this girl is giving you so much happiness deserve love and acceptance from us. Sorry Kanak for being rude it took time but now everything will be fine I will take my daughter with me. Kanak hugged her . Massisa said Uma you should also change there is a love marks on your back. Just change and come with us.

With Maasa and Massisa acceptance everything was changed. They took care of Kanak and Kanak also proved obedient to them. After all they were experienced. Uma had little time for romance as from morning till night Maasa would be with her. Telling stories making diet plan and visiting doctor. Kanak got what she longed for years mothers love. And after sometime she became a mother of a little princess. Massisa Maasa saras ved Uma all welcomed this new member of the family
