My Sincere Apologies for I have kept you all hanging and asking for the update. No matter the busy schedule I should have had it ready before hand.

Part 5
Kanak sat down besides Saras, she kept her eyes averted from him, something was rising up, but she couldn't place her finger on it... was it all coincidence, her mind ran a mile per second.
Kanak fidgeted with the edge of her duppata as she sat and listened to Saras praising her brother, Kanak looked at her in awe, she was dressed in an elegant saree a bedazzling solitaire mangalsutra around her neck, Saras was more expressive and straightforward than the weirdo, who was staring at her while she royally ignored him.
"You have brought a really good match, as we had asked, but there are no elders from Uma's family Bhabho asked Pandit jee. "I personally knew his parents, they were good people but died a few years back, then Uma took care of his sister and got her married her after her education, you asked for a good match, so I thought of introducing the families Pandit replied to Bhabho, giving everyone the much required bio data of Uma. It was only Uma that knew the truth, how he had indirectly bribed the Pandit to get into his good books, he had known that the search was on for a prospective groom but he never let anyone approach the Rathi Family, for he bid his time and after a few weeks of dead silence he came as a prospective candidate himself.
Bhabho seemed to approve of the proposal, Kanak looked at her, she had to resign herself for Bhabho, she had given up the choice of decision long back... but now she wanted to clear some doubts, she wouldn't object but she would have to ask for the sanity of her mind. Kanak excused herself from the hall, his eyes followed her movements. She had been quiet and only nodded, there was something on her mind, he had to talk to her.
Kanak called from her mobile to Rani to come out in the lawn urgently... "Bhabhi I will tell you everything, but please before Bhabho finals this proposal I have to talk to him... she tried to emotionally blackmail Rani "... I don't even know him and it's such a big decision, five minutes won't hurt... Kanak pleaded to Rani to do some jugad to get Uma out.
Uma came out towards the lawn talking on his mobile... he used his phone as an excuse to seek her out, to get to know what she was thinking. With luck on his side she was right in front of him walking back and forth while Rani Bhabhi went inside nodding at him... he got his cue from her and proceeded towards Kanak. "Kanak he called out... she turned around, surprised that he was there already, and he stood at an arms length yet it seemed really close, she backed a step and asked directly "what's the meaning of all this?? "What do you mean? He countered back. "This, all of this Kanak asked her hands moving around creating a circle which included both of them... "whats all this? He copied her gestures. "How can all this be a coincidence, we met a few weeks back, then a few days back and now you are here in my house as a prospective husband!! Kanak didn't hold back anything. Uma listened her rant, she was right to be confused, even surprised or shocked at the events, he was happy that she confessed her doubts to him, but now he was a bit taken back... he hadn't meant it to be complicated between them, " I don't understand!! Be shrugged his shoulders, "... you don't want to marry me?
"It's not about what I want, I would accept whatever Bhabho chooses for me, even if it's you Kanak looked straight into his eyes, her truth shattering his wall, every plan he had in his mind evaporated.
He moved forward and held her shoulders, " you and only you would decide, it would only be your decision to marry, he said with fierce determination. "Why does it matter to you? Kanak asked baffled at his sudden change of demeanor. "Because I Love You, and your wishes, dreams, decisions, wants, desires are all yours to command and I to fulfill them he said.
"You love me.. Kanak repeated his words, the impact registering on her.
He held up her chin and made her look at him, he couldn't lie or pretend anymore, "I have always loved you, ever since the first time you left your bangle in my clinic, your lamp which got exchanged with mine, your duppata that flew over to me, the chandan mehak has intoxicated my being with your love. I loved you before i even saw you, I saw you at the wedding and I knew that it was you, my Kanak... I didn't approach because that wasn't my place to encroach on your space at such emotional time. I love you and I want you to accept out relationship rather than you sacrificing yourself at Bhabho's altar... "
Kanak looked at him, the words getting through her ears and her mind taking in the impact, he confessed his love, Love that he had held on to for a long time, she hadn't even known of his existence and he loved an idea of her. Above all he prioritized her decision, her wishes above everything else. Was he a stalker, a creep, she shook her head in disbelief, he wouldn't have confessed with such ease and beauty if he wasn't honest. She had to make up her mind, she had gotten more information than she had expected and it was confusing her more than ever. She looked up at him, his face no longer the stoic playful expression but a certain calm had crossed over it, eyes softened he looked at her in anticipation. He had proposed to her in her house and was waiting for an answer, something.
"What if I say no? Kanak tested the words as they weighed him down. He froze at the words, his hands fell away from her shoulder, he stepped back a step, his expressions steeled and his eyes hardened. His voice was cold and determined when he said " I would never stop trying with that he looked at her and turned to leave. She looked at him retreating, the subtle threat that he would always be persistent, he wouldn't give up, she was confused whether to smile at his audacity or to be uncomfortable with his honesty.
Uma was shut down ever since he came back to the hall, his mind was distant, going round and round creating circles that made him dizzy with anxiety... he had her so near yet there was an unfathomable distance between them, he would never give up but the longing was treacherous desire. He sat like a stone while the family had gone for a quick meeting to some other room, and Saras had gone to tour the house... they would be deciding on accepting or rejecting his proposal... had he made a mistake coming to her house directly, what would she decide, would she decide - he had asked for her approval directly from Bhabho, he respected her decision but he expressed his desire to have Kanak's approval too. He waited with bated breath, he had never been so nervous, his fingers ached to draw circles to calm him down, he wanted Kanak. He closed his eyes and he could only imagine her.
Everyone came out and Bhabho revealed the decision, that Kanak has said yes to the proposal, Uma looked at her sharply and she gazed back unrelenting... he smirked at her, she had made him suffer, the uncomfortable mess he had for for the last few minutes, he smiled at his own predicament... Bhabho placed Kanak's hand in his and they stood besides each other while rest of the family discussed other things. Uma smiled at her and said quietly " I love you. Kanak bit back a smile and said "Weirdo "mrs Weirdo Uma winked back.
There are no endings just new beginnings.
