It's said, the best way to safeguard your interests is to launch an offensive towards ensuing threat .For so preoccupied will your enemy be to protect themselves that they will be at a loss to thwart your attack. Without a doubt today's episode is a battle field. Kanak herself sets foot on the enemy soil, rather gingerly. Kanak comes alone without an army to launch an offensive on Ravan and his family. The girl comes armed with the weapons of truth, so intrepid she appears on their door step.The episode is a fine example of verbal arguments, where other parties too jump into the battle to defend their chosen opposing parties. The episode also shows an interesting scenario where both Kanak and Vansh are both fighting for their corner, place within a family situation. Kanak comes to Uma Shankar's house to worm her way back into his family ,to achieve her purpose. Vansh on the other hand is vociferously fighting for Kanak's rightful place in her maternal side of the family both .. Kanak and Vansh both strongly fight their cases for position in the irrespective families.
Seeing Kanak at their doorstep, unnerves her enemies. Massi is stunned by her presence. All manner of taunts are fired at Kanak to make her unwelcome. Uma's silence unnerves Massi and she springs to his defence , as she can sense something more about Kanak than they cannot swallow. Kanak's facial expression is more on the lines of launching an offensive at beating her foes with the same weapons they used on her, deceit! The look of innocent vulnerability is for the man likely to be most susceptible, Uma Shankar! Massi tries desperately to put words in Uma's mouth, to shun the girl away .But Uma may respect her ,but even Massi knows Uma is in the habit of giving orders rather than acting upon one!
Massi at one point in the episode almost lays down arms before Kanak when she taunts, seems like comes well prepared, which goes to show under hand intentions. Well Massi is correct in her reading. Kanak throughout the episode has a well established vantage point from whence she will launch her offence. Right from the instance she crosses the threshold her strategy will be to use all the points Uma preaches about. Marriage as the unbroken bond. Their marriage ordained by the gods, surely he will not reverse all that he professes and devoutly believes in. Rather skilfully she turns the tables on him and his questioning , grilling agony Massi . In the wake of being barred from entering the house on the basis of deserting Uma, subjecting him to shame. Rather boldly with conviction Kanak retorts and reminds Massi of her role and position in the house.. this in itself engages Uma's attention. She quotes his words and stances. Very soon, it appears that Uma really does not have a leg to stand on. Massi though can predict she is losing face too . Kanak leaves no gap in her offensive.. the manner in which she ties the corner of her pallu ,with the end of Uma's kurta is a loud and clear sign to all that she is here to stay!
People spring to the defence whom they love. funnily in both instances in the episode the defence revolves around Kanak. Where Vansh, pulls his whole family by going against Kanak in her toughest hour.Of being indifferent and disinterested in the man she has married! Vansh also fumes about the step child treatment Kanak has been meted out as she is not the only one in the family who committed an error! Vansh lets it known, Kanak is being discriminated against! Vansh's offensive in Kanak's defence is to open the doors of the maternal family to his sister! Massi on the other hand launches a riddled and failing defence against Kanak's gaining offense.
Where before her family Kanak ranted and raved about the hurt they caused her. At Uma's house she plays the offensive game with a soft, yet smart touch. Gives the right , plus truthful answers to where she went. She spares not the taunting reminders, of how Uma inflicted upon her a forced marriage, kept her as a captive! yes she owned up ,she fled at the first opportunity she saw!She knew her offensive will be based upon the truth! But the intent of the truth will be to soften Uma shankar's heart enough, to dupe them into taking her back! Kanak gives them a saleable line.. she went to see her maternal family, to inform them about her marriage..to seek their blessings before she commences her new life !Slowly Uma is beginning to give way..to her arguments. Kanak purposely adds in the deceptively assuring line.. that the Kanak that fled was a daughter ,sister.. and the one who returns to stay is Kanak , a wife and a daughter in law!!
Another effective offense she launches on Uma is the one he vowed to her when he shared with her ,that like lord Shiva granted his wife the right to privacy regards her maternal family , he too will strive to follow the same rule ,as a devotee of lord Shiva.Kanak with the right reasoning uses all the faith related teachings ,that neither Uma nor his family can challenge! It was coming eventually that Uma would go against Massi's divisive prompting and accept defeat and receive his wife back into his life..
But the truth of the episode lies in the fact that Kanak's complete offensive was to kill him with the thoughts and words he professed to her. It is an, enamoured Uma who announces to Kanak, that he will not be asking her any further questions about her family, since her return has answered all his questions. However Kanak repays Maasi threat about the other side of Uma that all Ladnun has seen but not her.. challenges, Kanak to shoot out her under cover offensive, that some things cannot be side by side.. like her past and present will never run parallel like the sun and twilight! never can they meet.. Uma stares into her eyes as he tries to make sense of her offensive . In my opinion he ends up defending his corner from now on..
The sinister, intrigue mistress of the house Maasi, is perturbed by Kanak's return and Uma's ready acceptance of his runaway wife. Maasi wants to strengthen her defensive corner by entertaining the belief, that Uma is beyond the cajoling of the likes of Kanak ..for what's brewing in his mind ?is beyond this girls comprehension! as Uma is quite different from what he portrays out to be. . it's a pity that Maasi is committing the mistake of underestimating Kanak's offensive aimed at their defences.. precap: mind you, it appears that Maasi may be right.. as Kanak fromthe wings, sees the "other side of Uma Shankar which she believes he has.. forcing on some vulnerable person's thumbprint on a stamp paper.. hamlet53 1.6.17
