Pooja Deol is beautiful 😧

I think it's easy to judge when there is a mystery.. who knows Deol women (Prakash and Pooja) themselves might not be interested in making media appearances? Not everyone is fame-hungry like all the other Bollywood wives 🙃

It was published once how Dharam does not like Deol women being in media glare and strictly kept his daughters from Prakash away from media and does not like other women, grand nieces etc to post their pics online nor likes media enter their home (esp in Punjab) or take pics.

They never bring women to award shows or premieres or talk shows or interviews either. Hema and Esha are only ones who have made public appearances.

Hema had said Dharam viewed film industry as low profession and dangerous place for women, is not media friendly himself and was not keen on Esha joining football or films and Esha had also said Dharam said girls should be married off at 18.

Dharam has never been media savvy, nor are Sunny or Bobby or even Esha. Dharam and Sunny openly say they do not know much about media or marketing.

So it is easy to deduce who has had influence in Deol women not seen in public, nor ever speaking to media.

No one stays so much away on their own. There is no mystery in such obvious cases.

Dharam had once chased editor Devyani Chaubal in a fit of rage against her article on Hema. His strained relationship with media is well known and he is himself self conscious about how media reports about their family or what they ask and he is possessive about Deol women and keeps them away from public eye.

He had booked entire hospital's rooms when Hema was to deliver her first child, and ensured there was no one else there because he was possessive and over protective and did not want anyone else to be around Hema or her room when she went in labour or see her or know about her etc. He wanted total privacy for her. He had shared that on a Jeena isi ka naam hai episode as well.

He wanted Hema to leave work, stop dancing on stage too but she did not relent, so he began living separately from her and Hema lived on her own with her daughters and mom, while Dharam visited them occasionally but kept his main base and main family with Prakash and his biological family. Hema had said Dharam never comes to attend her stage shows and says 'tu meri nahi hai', when she performs dance on stage. Earlier he was not supportive of her career as producer or director or politician either. Eventually Hema stopped producing shows or films, did not direct any film after her first one flopped, but political career benefitted Deols in many ways so Hema stuck to it and Dharam also entered politics through her and BJP.

These are things shared by Deols in own interviews or reported in papers. Not mystery or speculation.

I am surprised Dharam allowed media at Karan's wedding. Otherwise he had kept media totally away during Sunny, Bobby and daughters' Ajeeta and Vijeta's weddings. He allowed some media only outside his house during Esha's wedding. No media or pics during Ahana's either, especially after that controversy of Dharam losing temper at camera man asking about Sunny and Bobby not being present at Esha's wedding.

Deols are possessive about women and Tanya, despite being a designer, is hardly as visible as other star wives as Neelam,Maheep, Gauri, Twinkle nor a part of media or social media or exhibitions or party circuit and not seen much like Riddhima Kapoor or Shweta Bachchan Nanda either.

I do not think it is always 'choice' on part of all Deol family women to keep away from media, when their patriarch's stand on women and media exposure is clear.

So some of these acts are obviously a little misogynistic and patriarchal.. but some of these I actually do understand. Bollywood is not a nice place to be for women, after hearing all these stories I don't blame Dharam for being protective over his daughters.

All double standards.

If your theory was true then, Rani would not have managed to marry Aditya despite affair with married men like Govinda and a fling with Aamir, Ash would not have got Abhishek despite intense history with Salman and Vivek neither Katrina would have got married to Vicky despite relations with Salman and RK or her shady past/family background nor PC would have got married to Nick despite affairs with married men like SRK and Akki.

And if bank balance theory was always true then a flop star son like Bobby would not get billionaire heiress like Tanya who was richer than him, nor Vicky could get a bigger star and one with more net worth like Katrina or Ranveer could get a bigger star like Deepika as wife or Dr Nene could get a big star and richer wife like Madhuri and a nobody like Kunal Khemu could never get a heiress and nawabzaadi like Soha as his wife. In past also, a flop actor like Mazhar Khan got a superstar wife like Zeenat. Even Nutan's husband was less famous and less wealthy than her and her family.

I agree media and industry are not good place.

But I was responding to your post about this keeping away from media, being a personal choice made out of own free will by all Deol women.

I just said it is not always their own choice but a lot has to do with Dharam's own patriarchal and controlling nature when it comes to women. Sunny and Bobby inherited the same nature.

Abhay is the only one who is different from rest of the family and more open minded.

A lot of misogyny and controlling issues, but the hospital story makes it sound like he probably has some level of paranoid personality.

It also sounds like he’s absolutely refused to change with times whereas it’s obvious his family has despite them still minding what Dharam’s wishes are. Tanya is not as public as the other star wives but she’s been seen out and about with Bobby for years, perhaps from the beginning. The grandson had a love marriage and girl while private certainly isn’t being hidden. She posed for the paps and danced at her reception.

There’s been an adage that a lot of these older Bollywood men/families never let their daughters work in Bollywood because they didn’t want anyone treating their girls the way they themselves have always treated other working women in the industry 🤷🏽‍♀️

🤯 Could it be because he was still hiding his marriage or affairs from first wife?

Bobby has always been taking his wife out much more than the other males of deol family. I guess it depends on husband mindset apart from fathers too. If husband loves to take wife out with him how can father or elder brother or anyone stop after a certain age. At 25 or 35 years you may obey your parents or elder brother but after 40s you cannot really control a person as a elder brother or father can you? I am not sure any parent or father can control a son atleast to always do as per his wishes that too after 40 years and even daughters. You can make kids obey you only till a certain age not after that. But yes i find bobby deol too obedient to dharmendra and sunny deol for his age he must be much more independent. May be his career flopped too because of this over obeying sunny and dharmendra wishes and toeing their line.

The grandson karan deol married Bimal Roy grand daughter. I am sure its arranged cum love marraige. Bimal Roy directed Dharmendra first success movie Bandini. So may be this was an arranged cum love marriage.

Regarding film family not allowing daughters to work in industry, actually its film daughters who will be most safe in bollywood than any other girl from outside. Would anyone dare mess with sunny deol sister esha or ahana? Or would anyone dare mess with karishma or kareena as they are raj kapoor progeny? I doubt any man in bollywood would dare misbehave with an actors daughter or sister that too when actor is as big as raj kapoor or dhramendra or sunny deol. So why not allow their daughters or sisters to work in bollywood?

I guess its more to do with patriarchal mindset of these bollywood families that film profession is cheap and not worth for decent family women. Also dancing on screen with other men ogling at their daughter and sister is considered indecent by these old fashioned kapoors or deols. Also in bollywood families a son can do anything but not a daughter, they are scared ladki haath se nikal jayegi if she becomes actress and famous and not listen to family or parents and brother in life. Also before getting a husband was an issue for even top actresses a decent family boy. So there are many reasons apart from their daughters or sisters being taken advantage of to say no to become actress. Do you really think an big actor like Sunny deol or anil kapoor will be scared that his sister/daughter will be taken advantage of in industry? They know no one will dare
