Things I want ITV bahus to say when they are being lectured on the qualities of a good bahu by either their sasural or mayka or by their pati parmeshwar....

Raja beta pati parmeshwar(RBPP): Problem is you don't accept my family as yours

ITV bahu: Did you have the same kind of talk with your family?

RBPP: You just have to adjust with my abusive family - they will surely accept you.

ITV bahu: Live in my mayka for one year as ghar jamai. At the end of one year we will have this conversation..đŸ˜ŽđŸ„ł

RBPP: But I adjust with your family too. I love them like my own...

ITV bahu : Enjoying aadar, sammaan, satkar and being treated like a king is not really the definition of adjustment...😈

RBPP: Sasural is a girl's real home

ITV bahu: Are we living in 18th century by any chance?

RBPP: Its upto you that my family doesn't break

Joint families work on mutual respect, affection from all sides. Otherwise it will break apart. So ensure that everyone acts with integrity. It cannot be a one way street.👏

ITV parents : Beta, you should aim to be sarva gun sampann bahu

ITV bahu : Have you ever advised me on how to never compromise with good morals? Have your you ever taught me on how to not let go of my dignity anywhere, including my sasural?đŸ‘ŽđŸŒ

ITV sasural : You don't respect us.

If you disrespect me, humiliate me, how will I respect you? Mujhe paagal kutte ne kaata hai kya? 😳

ITV sasural: We didn't deserve a daughter-in-law like you.

ITV bahu: Same, same puppy same. And I don't deserve in-laws like you. đŸ€Ș

Kaash aisa hota.

I remember once Kaku saying 'maine bohot sari bahuein dekhi lekan tum jaise badtameez bahu nahi dekhi'. Sai answered 'meine bhi bohot sari saasein dekhi GC mein lekin aap jaise taane pe taana maarni vali saas kabhi nahi dekhi'. I loved, loved that! There should be more such dialogues in ghum lekin ulta ho raha hai 😒

Lovely post. Especially the one way street point. It becomes too burdening when relationships are one way street. Be it love, respect or care, it should be mutual. I do understand unconditional love but when a person actually follows it or faces being the one who is always a giver but doesn’t get these will know what it feels.

Parents usually are people with unconditional love but if kids start to take them for granted, what love, what unconditional love? Why should it be that way? Some kids love their parents the same way their parents love them, their love, care and affection gets reciprocated and that is so beautiful. That is the kind of relationship we all should share. Now, what happens when this happens with a spouse. It would be extremely difficult. And when it happens between bahus and in-laws, even more worse.

There are bahus too who take their in-laws for granted. Why just bahu, even son does. It becomes an one way street in that case too when they don’t care for their parents, when they take them for granted, when their efforts do not get recognised, when they act selfish and demanding, burdening the parents. This is also happening these days.

The reason you are talking about bahus are because, we get to hear and see that more. It is a pity when parents keep asking their daughters to always compromise or when a husband also keeps asking their wife to compromise ignoring all that their daughter or wife has done. Look at Usha Maushi. For her, Sai shouldn’t go wrong, Sai should be very mindful of what she speaks or does. In many families, the parents set too high standards with their daughters and sadly they don’t have standards for their son, forget high standards. Both men and women work but it is men’s tiredness that is always visible. Both of them sacrifice many things while they get married but the men get all the votes of sympathy like he has lost his freedom. Raja Babu like Virat is not expected to adjust with people like Cgang who would name call him, he doesn’t have to make food everyday or do household work but he will be pitied that he is not getting to do whatever he used to before he is married.

That is why I have always wanted Sai to walk out of this house because when they don’t respect her, she shouldn’t be living there even if she has any feelings for Virat. It will get really stressful for her if she stretches herself to fit in this house, to try to fix her relationship with them. It will take a toll on her mental peace if she continues to let go of everything and live in the house just because she is not able to let go of Virat.

Let him set things right in his house and then bring her back if he wants her in his life. He likes, she likes him, their issues can get resolved only if the family and Pakhi issues are sorted. They will be a completely different couple if they were living alone but since that is not happening, since he would want to live with his family, he should fix things or she should leave.

The initial episodes Sai could have replied something similar but I feel like she is somewhere lost since a few weeks.

We have been taught to adjust An hold high morals regardless of wat.

Be truthful and fare and principled.... And bend down to not argue and things.....

After marriage, stay put and adjust.... The concept is quite demeaning.

The boy is not told the same thing....

The thought process and teaching should be made more accomodating from both ends.

I am quoting another pati from somewhere

"---is my wife and it is my responsibility that my family accepts her".

You see this was exactly the reason why I fell in love with Sai’s character. For the first time, I saw a FL who actually had some sassy comebacks. Tbh Sai is still like that a bit, just not as much as she used to be. Remember that confrontation scene, whe she yelled Bas to Pakhi? In that episode I loved the way she went and sat down on the chair when the CN gang commented her on her college. I felt that in itself was very sassy and unlike the traditional ITV FL. As for her not being just as confident now, I think this is their way of showing her character development, but I am not sure whether this is good or not.
