Sony SAB’s recently launched show Yaadein continues to connect with viewers emotionally through Dr. Dev Mehta’s (Iqbal Khan) powerful story of struggle, healing, and self-discovery. The show revolves around Dr. Dev Mehta, a once highly respected doctor who has lost eight years of his memory and is now trying to rebuild his life while understanding who he really is. As he pieces together his forgotten past, he is also forced to face harsh truths about broken relationships, the loss of his son, and a version of himself he can no longer relate to.
In the upcoming episodes, Dr. Dev reaches a difficult point in his journey when the hospital board decides he should step down from medical practice. They feel he is no longer fit to continue as a doctor because of his memory loss and lack of updated medical knowledge. Even though Dr. Dev strongly defends his skills and tries to prove his worth, the decision leaves him deeply hurt and questioning his future in the profession.
Just when he is about to leave the hospital for good, Srishty Agarwal (Gulki Joshi), his ex-wife and the hospital administrator, takes a surprising step. She allows him to remain in the hospital, but not as a practicing doctor. Instead, he is given the role of a junior aide to the interns, where he has no authority to treat or diagnose patients.
Losing the title of being a doctor breaks him, but choosing to stay back in the hospital despite that pain shows how deeply medicine is a part of who he is.

Talking about the upcoming track, Iqbal Khan, shares, “This phase is a huge turning point for Dr. Dev because for the first time, he is forced to separate his identity from his profession. Losing the title of being a doctor breaks him, but choosing to stay back in the hospital despite that pain shows how deeply medicine is a part of who he is. What makes this track beautiful is that Dr. Dev begins rebuilding himself not through power or authority, but through humility, patience and heart. I think audiences will really connect with this version of him because it shows that sometimes life gives you a second chance in a form you never expected.”
