Tulip: Nah. As I said, it wasn't said in comparison to DP's family. PC has always been middle-class & she never attended Uni in the US, she went to a normal public school. I know lots of strictly middle class people who have gone to the best schools, as I said, it's not like in the US.. Being an army family, unless you've family money, means strictly middle-class. For the rest, Gauhar has summed it up well.. I reckon the definitions being different could be a reason.

Er doctors can be filthy rich in this country. Depends on what kind of a doctor they are and how well they can use their profession to run it like a business.

^^In India? Not really. There are many who are, yes, but many who aren't. Depends on the practice & business skill as you said. But in developed countries ALL doctors/lawyers earn very well. It's a given. It's not so in India. And Army doctors generally don't earn that way.

^^I live in India too which is why I said. But army
Doctors aren't generally the same way. Many many doctors aren't, there are few who manage to tough & build influence through clients (like Hansika Motwani's mother who was a top derm etc) but most don't, especially Army docs are shunted from 1 city to the other. Depends I reckon.

One thing I have never understood is why do these stars use the tag of "middle class" as something untouchable or low class or something offensive? Its just a income based tag and how the hell does it matter? Passing off senseless statements like I am proud of it or trying to speak about your rise? So what? Was it insulting when you werent rich?😵

^^No I think they say it to show how normal/achieving they are. No-one says they're rich. I don't think they mean to say it's insulting.

^^^ Ok but the way they word it or make it sound seems like hey I was once a person living in meager income and hey now I am super rich! See I party and wear designer labels too. What is the need to give such statements? Humbleness is exhibited and not broadcasted like this.

Yeah that's what I find out recently, never thought that he is father of Ishaan when both have the same last name, I think he is acting in Bepanaah as Zoya's dad now.

Shahid supported him and his mother even before he became a star. He worked as an instructor for Shaimak Dawar. Pankaj Kapur did not contribute at all and his mom didn't have a steady source of income. He has talked about how relieved they all were when he got his first 5 lakh cheque for Ishq Vishq, it seemed like a fortune.

And Shahid didn't have a fancy education either. It shows in his tweets. Especially towards the beginning.
