New Beginnings
PART I
It was a full moon night she smiled thinking about her future everything looked so bright - a cool breeze was blowing making her hair flow as well when suddenly a hand moved all of her hairs to one side whereas another grasped her tight from her waist making her gasp at the sudden chill. He stood behind her holding her as close as he could with his head bowed down inhaling her intoxicating smell
Kunwar Pratap what are you doing in my room at this hour of the night? She asked her fianc who was nuzzling his nose on her neck and slowly making a path towards her shoulder
I missed you was his reply. She kept her hand over his and pressed herself into his chest and they stood there in silence enjoying each other's company when suddenly her grip tightened as she exclaimed - look a shooting star!!! She closed her eyes making her wish while he looked at her - looking ethereal in the moonlight - her face glowing under the natural light, her lips looked luscious and so soft while her hair moving with the wind looked like cascading waterfall. As she opened her eyes to find him looking at her she blushed and looked down - he loved her eyes - deep large doe-like eyes that made him want to drown in them and her blush was proof of the effect he had on her if only she could see the effect she had on him as well
It's getting late she murmured while he kept staring at her. Finally he held her chin and made her look up and slowly as their eyes met both of them came closer and he bent his head capturing her lips in a kiss. They stood under the moonlight lost in each other enjoying their first kiss as a couple while the stars looked down upon them
It had been a tough journey filled with obstacles, tears, separation and everything that threatened their very existence but they both persevered and held on to their beliefs - for once Ajabde wanted to give up as she was told that the person whom she will marry will die a painful death and the mere thought of being the reason for Kunwar Pratap's pain was so unbearable that she ran away from her home leaving behind everyone but he came looking for her. Searching through all the kingdoms for her his love without whom he refused to have a life
She still remembered the emotions she felt at seeing him in the same temple she visited daily to pray for his health and happiness- to see him in flesh after a long time it was like she had found her heaven but then the priest's words came ringing back and she walked away using all of her self-control and a prayer for his well-being on her lips totally unaware that he had seen her and was following her quietly and stealthily. She had created a small but happy life for herself - she had adopted two orphans as her own siblings and they lived in a small cottage near the river- she had a cow, a goat, two rabbits and many other animals came by their cottage as they pleased. The villagers loved her and all the kids called her Jija. She was spending her life helping as many people as she could - no one knew that she was the princess of Bijolia whose twin brother died while she survived childbirth, they didn't know that her father despised her from her birth due to the loss of his first son, they didn't know that she was asked to observe all sorts of rituals and fasts because they felt she was a bad omen for everyone around and they didn't know that she had fallen in love with a man whom the entire nation was proud of - a man well respected and loved by her parents, a man of principles who always came to her rescue, a man who made her self-centred friend fall for him- a man who was going to be the next Rana of Mewar
After some time they broke of the kiss to take a breath, she was all red from the blushing while he kept her in his arms. He kissed her head and slowly made his retreat as they needed to be up early for the puja. She smiled while touching her lips and went to her bed to get some sleep
Kunwar Pratap the brave warrior son of Mewar was a happy man after all he had won the war against the Afghan forces, sorted out a peace treaty with Marwar, had got rid of all the traitors in his family and most of all he was about to marry the love of his life. Ajabde Punwar had worked her way into his heart gradually and when he realised it after watching her get hurt - the anger that ran in his veins seeing her soft skin broken with blood oozing out had nearly destroyed everyone standing in his way including his own family members and worse was seeing her looking all broken and alone after everyone blamed her for his silly mistake on the battlefield though his Guru had given him a good scolding but when Chakrapani told him that DheerBai had blamed Ajabde for his wounds he had rushed to the palace to find her gone with only a piece of her dupatta left behind which held her Rudraksh mala. The mala had broken while he was fighting against the Afghans and she had repaired it and left it for him as a present. He picked it up and touched it to his eyes making a resolve to find her at all costs and when he did the first thing he would do was to marry her
The epic face off he had with his father was the best and worst - best because for once he spoke up for his desires and not did anything he told him to do like a puppet and worst because he broke his ties with the family. Well he had to after all DheerBai Bhatiyani was the worst woman he had met and she was one a snake who didn't hesitate in eating her own eggs. He found out about her true self and before he could do anything she had already made his father against him so even he stood up against him and said:
Today I stand not against my the person who is neither my father nor fit to be called the Rana of Mewar- the man standing in front of me is an addict who cannot see the difference between right and wrong. The man I knew to be the Rana never made decisions under the influence of any sort instead he would thoroughly investigate manners and then take a sound decision but you are not that man because if you were then you would realise that it was DheerBai Bhatiyani who put the blame on Ajabde every time any incident took place - before and after she made sure that Ajabde was blamed when in reality Ajabde never did anything wrong except pray for Mewar's victory and well-being of this family and if you investigated everything properly then you would have found out that a certain amount of gold coins is being made monthly to three people including the priest who deemed Ajabde as a bad omen was being paid under Dheer Bai's name. DheerBai looked stunned as she never used her real name when paying the servants and Pratap saw her: I followed your trustworthy servant Choti Rani Sa (emphasizing the word Choti Rani Sa clearly) Dhaman Singh is a loyal servant but he is even more concerned with his self-preservation thus he spilled all the beans on all of your acts and tricks and schemes
Rana Uday Singh had never seen his son so passionate about anyone forget a person Pratap had never been this passionate about a thing except for his duty but now his son stood up to him to defend a girl he had met barely a few months earlier and the evidence against his third wife was overwhelming as well but she would not do that after all she cared for Pratap- Enough he roared at his son who looked at straight into his eyes and said
You are right it is enough and that is why today I break all my ties with you and your hypocritical ways - Did I not always do what was asked of me? Did I not perform every duty required of me? Did I ever say No to you? But for once in my life I asked you to grant me one wish but you had to go and ruin it for me because for you I'm not a human being but an object to be sold for the best alliance Ranaji
Jaiwanta knew her son had been hurt badly and there was no way he would overcome this pain and betrayal. She had known about Dheer Bai's poisonous schemes for some time but never thought that she would stoop so low to hurt an innocent child- Ajabde had left them all and with her taken away all the happiness, luck, prosperity and her son's heart with her
US, RM, Rawatji all the council members were stunned at the crown prince's burst of anger and understood his pain well US was still involved I himself (egoistical dude I tell you)
Pratap moved towards his mother and seeked her blessings - I'm going to look for Ajabde and will not return to Chittor without her and when we will return she will come with me as my wife and we won't be staying in the palace after our return
