‘Inspires Younger..’: Maa Hai Na Producer Preeti Simoes On Roping In Shilpa Shetty As Host Of Show

Producer Preeti Simoes who has worked on popular shows like Comedy Nights Bachao, The Drama Company and the much loved crime drama Aakhri Sach starring Tamannaah Bhatia has delivered content across genres. Known for her ability to combine entertainment with strong storytelling, she is now gearing up for her upcoming show Maa Hai Na, a unique family entertainer that celebrates the bond between celebrities and their mothers through food, emotions and candid conversations. As the excitement surrounding the show amplified, Preeti recently shared why Shilpa Shetty was the ideal pick to host the project.

The biggest talking point about the show is Shilpa Shetty hosting it. While she has been a regular on television as a judge, Maa Hai Na is a new chapter for her. Preeti opened up about the decision, revealing that she had been wanting to work with Shilpa for years.

“Shilpa has been seen on television before, but in the capacity of a judge. We have known her personally for many, many years, and we’ve been wanting to work with her for a long time,” Preeti shared, adding that the team knew she had the enthusiasm, energy, and personality required to lead a show of this nature.

Preeti further explained that while they were exploring hosts with a connection to food, they wanted someone who brought a unique perspective. “We thought of Shilpa because her Sunday Binge was very, very famous. She’s obviously known for being the owner of Bastion. We just thought she would be the perfect fit,” she said.

According to Preeti, Shilpa’s appeal goes beyond her association with food. She believes the actress embodies the modern woman who balances multiple responsibilities with ease. “She’s a mom to a Gen Alpha child, an entrepreneur, a restaurateur, an actor and a judge. She dons many roles, so she would also be very inspiring to the moms who would come on the show,” Preeti explained.
