OK Its not that I want US to leave veerbai and I am happy that he does not and actually fights for whats correct but one thing does make me think how his standards have always been double standard.
he always expects Pratap to give up his dreams for his ambitions.

Why didn't he leave Veerbai and tell her that you know what , you will stay as rani but I will not come near you or have any relationship with you as per rao maldev's request. Cause he really doe snot want anyone to be with her except him so by giving veerbai a place in the palace and also refusing to have any relationships with her could have solved what RM wanted and also avoided the war.

I know its not fair but ... how come now US is all ok with Mewar and Marwad fighting/ What about Rajputana unity now/?
arent mughals threat anymore?
Where did he find that strength to realize that yes his army can wade of dangers without the help of marward?

He is just brainless in my opinion. Always goes with what others say or influence him.
first RM to sar pe chadaya then he let him dance to his tunes and make his entire family dance to his tunes and now.. he wants to fight with him for a girl.

he is no saint in protecting Veerbais honor. He is just a coward and Veerbai just got Lucky that for now her situation is saved. Only if US had some time with Deerbhai I am 100% sure out of spite that lady would have convinced US to give up Veerbai so they could maintain Mewar and Marwad relations.

Good thing he gave her a surprise and she didnt haev time to formulate a plan.

Hi suchi
On a broad level, I agree with you that he is operating on a double standard.

but a closer look at the situation makes me feel that he is doing the correct thing.
Zooming in with a microscope ... One can see that he is acting honourably... Not in bad faith as a double standard.

He is already married to Veerbai . If he had known that Rao Maldev had his eye on the girl BEFORE and still gone and married her anyway, then that would be a double standard. And if he asked pratap to kick ajabde out after being married to her and then to remarry phool kanwar to displace ajabde while he himself continued holding on to Veerbai, then it would be a double standard.

Once having married Veerbai, he has a certain responsibility to her. yes he can keep her in the palace and keep her as an ornamental rani, without having a relationship with her...but that would be unfair to her... And anyway, Rao Maldev did not agree to that...he said explicitly that he wanted udai Singh to turn her out of the palace and that she should live as a commoner in a hut somewhere in mewar without status or lifestyle of a queen. It is not that udai Singh wants to have a relationship with Veerbai out of love or lust. he married her to protect her honour and it would be incredibly dishonourable to turn her out into the streets
Udai Singh did not turn out ajabde after she was married and thrown her out into the wilderness. He sent her back in an yet unmarried state to her father in Bijolia. So it is not the same thing.there is no double standard.

Hey Tinoo how are you?
In a personal level I agree he is being fair but the dialogues of rishtr hith.. How far would he go and sacrifice?

My point is...he could easily say I won't agree to leave Veerabai but at the same time I will not be with her too for the goodness of rajputana.

Don't get me wrong. I don't want him to do that but I want him to realize that if you are asking someone to sacrifice their happiness then you should also be reqdy to do similar things.

So now is it ok to let 1000s of soilders to die ? Cause its about his wife now.

Ad what about bijiola . They protected your wealth and honor and this is how you repay them? By insulting their daughter?

The least he could do was make sure that girl was sent back with some honor but he stood back.

He is selfish. He expects everyone around him to be desh bhakt but he will just be a king and nothing else.

Didn't he indirectly say to pratap about how one should not think about their own wishes. So what if ajabde is not married. She is still the daughter of the person who made it possible for US to remain king??

Basically I don't want I'm to leave veerabai and what he is doing is correct but he should have never let RM and his family insult ajabde that way and remain silent. That's why he has double standard. He cares about his so called honor but not about the honor of his friends and feelings of his family.

Well all I can say about Uday Singh is tat he is lot more better in the show than the history.according to history he was a coward, selfish, and a puppet in Dheer bai's hands.he never cared or respected jaiwanta bai or dint have any special inclination towards pratap.he used to be lost oly in Dheer bai.so this Uday Singh is better.he doesn't allow DB to insult JB.he loves pratap atleast till jagmal grows up I guess,he even punished DB for her sins so all in a he is better.and as a raja he should always think about his land and people'a safety first so his helplessness about not being able to do anything against RM is quite clearly shown.but atleast his dam of control has broken and tats the reason of marwar-mewar war.its not oly due to veerbai but all frustrations of Uday Singh against RM is coming out In the form of this war.but in future v r gonna hate Uday Singh real bad as he becomes biased towards Dheerbai and jagmal but for now I neither like him much nor hate him.
