Hello Freinds!!!
I am back again and this week we will be reviewing Raj Kaushal's movie
ANTHONY KAUN HAI
But before that I want to wish all the members
HAPPY FRIENDSHIP DAY!!
Coming back to the movie the Bindaas jodi is at work again.. Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi who rocked MunnaBhai MBBS are back again and that is the biggest USP of the film.
The makers of the film couldnt have had the better timing in its release as the promos of Munnabhai 2 is on air.. Anthony kaun Hai is just an appeatizer that precceds the main course.😉
Well this movie Anthony Kaun Hai contary to the perception Sunjay Dutt is not the star of the movie. He is relegated to playing an extended guest appearance. It is the underrated actor Arshad Warsi who is the mainstay of this comic thriller, featuring prominently in every frame and raising the film to a much higher level than it would have reached without him
It's not the laugh riot as the promos promised it to be…. Infact I'll say it's more of a thriller that lost it's focus in the midway of the plot. It has twists, thrills, style, comedy and romance, but none of the elements come out too convincingly in the end.The direction is poor and so are the dialogues.
The story, told mostly in flashback, revolves around Champak Chaudhari (Warsi), who prefers to call himself Champ and specializes in forging documents. He is on the lookout for a box of diamonds hidden by Raghu (Raghuvir Yadav). What follows is a series of twists, some predictable and some not so. Along the way, Champ encounters a rather clich'd villain called Lucky Sharma (Chetan Hansraj) and an idiosyncratic detective (Gulshan Grover), apart from the expected love angle brought in by Jiya (Minissha Lamba).

The editing is not upto the mark and one can witness several jerks in the movie. The songs again are not in chartbusters, which proves that the music cannot create a gong!! The weakest part of the movie, is that they could establish the chemistry between Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi… Minisha Lamba did her small role well and Anusha MTV VJ was there to give the film glamarous touch.

Just like other hindi movies this film is also loosley inspired from the Hollywood film"Who is Cletti's Tout?" by Christian Slatter and Tim Allen.
So in other words Anthony Kaun Hain is another one in bollywood's burgeoning list of hatke masala attempts but to a large extent it will dissappoint the audience. An easily avoidable movie!!
The movie overall gets 3 out of 10
