Hey Everyone...so here goes my official first post.

As I have been watching the episodes the last few weeks, this question has been lurking in my mind.

Why is falling in Love still considered a taboo by the parents in our country??? Parents like Navya, who are educated, so affectionate, caring,loving towards their kids all of a sudden turn hostile and try to take drastic steps as soon as they learn about their kids love story. Why?

Do they fear the society or are they not confident with their kids choices? If they are not confident on their kids choices what is the guarantee that what they choose will work?? We seen so many failed arranged marriages who succumb to all sorts off emotional/physical abuse yet they are not ready to give their kids a chance or listen?

Can there be a middle ground? What should the youngsters do in this kind of situation?

Would love to hear all your thoughts...

Completely agree with u..this is going on for so many eras in india..
arranged marriages r accepted with honour in our society while love marriages r lyk crime..

Navya's mom is not getting that rude while talking with navya..
In reality parents get more furious when they get to know about kid's lover..
We cant even relate to them at that situation

Hey shilpa🤗..congrats on your first post..and it is really a very thought provoking one...

This question is probably disturbing most of the teenagers rgt now or has affected most of us in our teenage...

the disapproval and disrespect that love and love marraige has to go thru, is too strong to be neglected anymore in our society..

I just wish, parents give one chance justone chance to listen totheir kids and give their choices one genuinechance to prove their worth...just one chance..i think we are not asking a lot from parents...

will love to see many more post from you dear...

I think it is the fear of society in general. There is no right or wrong. As a parent one needs to show direction because a boy your daughter chooses may not always be the right one. I have seen love marriages fall apart after a few years - even the ones that fought with their parents to be with their loved ones. So, once again there is no right or wrong when it comes to love or arranged marriage.

But in Nayva's situation - Meeta seems like she is even scared to reveal the truth to her husband and mother in law. Which would mean that more than fear of society she is concerned about how her husband would react and in her own way she is protecting Navya from her dad. In the beginning episodes there was a dialogue of Navya's dadi where she complains that Meeta is always covering her children's mistakes.

I think in this situation Meeta strongly believes that Navya has made a huge mistake and has not even given a chance to Anant or has bothered to find out anything about him.

So, I think all Meeta is doing is covering Navya's so-called mistake in her own away,

I m confused ..India or any part world..I think parents says dey are friends of their children dey give right to choose what to wear , what to eat , now what to study also..but wen time come to choose most imp part of life ie time to choose their life partner with whom they have to spend whole life.Then for them children are who not big enough to take dat dis decision.Liberty of children restrict by parents by hurdle of so called their repo,their religion., their caste and many ..Some of parents restrict dey children by saying i have no problem wid d love marriage but fall in love within in same religion/caste (wooow 😡) ..Its like restict d wind to flow in some direction...

all dis happen in case of navya also for meeta she is small girl who definitely take wrong decision to fall in love wid someone...dat guy is worse in whole world even without knowing him

for me love is god gift but for most of parents it is sin...

wow what a thought provoking topic u have chosen for ur first post...😊

The main problem in India is that its the only country in the whole world to have so many religions and beliefs and hundreds of languages 🤔...Parents will hesitate when their children opt for love marriage if the two families belong to different cultures...Because marriage is a long term relationship and it is very important to get adjusted to all the family members...So parents feel its very difficult to adjust if the two families belong to different cultures...
And above all, we tend to give more importance to the society... Even today there are parents who feel ashamed to face the society if their son/daughter has fallen in love... And some go to the extent of performing honour killing also 😭

Coming to the main point, Youngsters need to be honest with their parents and if they oppose, they should try to convince them...And parents also need to come out of orthodox mindset and give their children a chance to express themselves...

But now a days, parents have started thinking in a broad way... They have realized that mutual understanding is the most important thing and not caste and love cum arranged marriages are increasing atleast in cities...😊

Shilpa...uve come up with a rocking debut post...n a very interesting one...one that keeps haunting me especially when i see meeta on her pressure cooker mode...she just never tried to listen, leave alone trying to get to the middle ground...considering meeta to be the friendly mother, i thot she wud wait for the exams o get over n have a face-to-face talk with navi..but no shes packing navya off...forcibly n all this slyly...this make me wonder if thats why navya didnt muster enough courage to tell meeta...the fear of facing her mother's reaction was hidden deep within despite being so close to her mom...

but the q u asked..what wud youngsters do? well, given that AnYa are not even settled in life with careers, n knowing mandhbuddhis family, until things are ok from those fronts, it wud be best to follow what renu di advised navya ...not to go overboard with feelings like our mandhbuddhi ananth does...try to meet in college n dont give much chance to neighbours n society to talk...n we dont know how ananth will handle his side of the family...if someone evil like rama traps him in some 'family honour' trap, then ananth will suddenly remember his 'parvarish, family honour' n abide by udi-babas commands...where will that leave navya...n her parents for understanding her feelings n standing by or facing situations like elopement as things are simply hazy from ananths end! when u look at it in the indian context, the gal n her family generally gets the blame first...so first anya need to plan things seriously for their future...rather than being worried only abt seeing each other n being together always!

well shilpa...i dont know if my post answers ur qs well, but ive just put my thots down as they came...sorry if it is off topic...but ur post did set a lot of thoughts goingthru my mind...
