Major Channels pay for Bollywood films
TV Channels have started the trend for premiering big budget films and this trend started from October 2008 with Chandni Chowk to China. This film reportedly sold for Rs.5 crore.
But with the recession hitting the channels, the film makers were slightly confused so it was reduced for some months but after 12 months now the revenue stream is witnessing a 360 deg turn as is evident from a report from the Bollywood circles that says the satellite rights of Paa and De Dana Dan has been sold for rs.10 crore and 12 crore respectively.

Trade analyst Mehra said in the print, "The excitement created by Amitabh Bachchan's Paa and Akshay Kumar's De Dana Dan is palpable."
According to the sources, the rates started improving with Boney Kapoor's Eid release Wanted, in fact the market was never hotter then it was 14 months ago. Though Kapoor declined to reveal the amount, but a source said that, "Star TV had supposedly paid him Rs.13 crore for the satellite rights of the Salman Khan starrer." Kapoor said cautiously in the print, "Look, the market is on the rise. I have always had a good relationship with Star and I can tell you that Wanted has a handsome price. But I am not a liberty to reveal the exact amount."
While other films like Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani has fetched Rs.12 crore while Ajay Devgan's Diwali release All the Best was reportedly picked up for Rs.9 crore.
