Masil comes down with a bag. Jothi, Kasthuri and Ram look at him in shock. Kasthuri asks where he is going. Masil in tears tells her that there is no respect for his words and why should he stay, so he is leaving. Jothi tells him he can't leave. Masil tells Jothi that her son is important to her and not him, and he can't stay in the same place. Masil tells them that only children need their parents not the other way around and turns to leave. Ram comes to him and tells her father to stay and he does not want to cause any rift and leaves. Jothi is all tears, Kasthuri just looks without a word. Mail looks first at Jothi and sees her crying and then at Kasthuri who has not expression whatsoever on her face.
Ram walking on the street (same old bgm). A car passes by and splashes mud on him. Ram shouts and the car stops. Ram tells the driver to come out and the window comes down to reveal a smilling Rekha. Ram looks irritated. Rekha laughs and gets down. Goes to Ram and says how pitiful, with soiled clothes and on the street. She knew he will go to the streets but did not think it will be so soon. She gloats saying that for the way he treated others, this is payback. She says that Ram lives by eating free food and living in ac rooms. She asks Ram if he is working for his living or if he is cheating some other poor soul or married another rich woman for three meals and a roof over his head. Ram tells her that he is not in a bad position and for her not to gloat. Rekha tells him that payback is bitch and that even has gone to the speed of computer to pass judgement and sentence. Rekha reminds Ram that sometime back, he had sent Kasthuri to the streets and now it is his turn. Ram shouts back but Rekha stops him telling him to walk away from the cars or he might be hit and could land in a mortuary. Ram shouts again and Rekha laughs at him and says something about Jan, Feb, March like mortuary and leaves a seething Ram.
Kasthuri and Jothi in the living room each thinking. Masil in his room, also thinking. Ram thinks about Ram leaving the house the previous day. He goes downstairs, the ladies seeing him get up and Jothi starts to leave but Masil stops her and says he needs to speak with them. He tells them that he did not think about sending Ram away but did not want to stay in the same place at Ram. That is why he wanted to leave, but Ram left instead. He says that he did not want to separate mother and son or Kasthuri from her husband. At this Kasthuri looks up at Masil surprised. Masil says that when Ram put him in jail he was half dead and the rest of him died when he pushed Jothi and said that only Annamalai is his God. Jothi asks if Masil cannot forgivr him for his mistakes. Masil says he cn forgive but not yet as Ram needs to realize and feel the pain he caused others, especially Kasthuri. Jothi asks, does Ram have to suffer and Masil says that he has too before he can be accepted. Also, if they take back Ram, Annamalai may get more angry with them. Masil continues saying that he would have left the city when he found out that Ram did not acknowledge them as parents and the reason he stayed back was because of Kasthuri. He changed Kasthuri's life and made her the person today because of the wrong done to her by Ram and to make sure that Kasthuri has a life for herself..
He tells her another reason is because he still loves their son Ram. He tells Jothi that the only thing she has done for Ram is shedding tears but he has done more, that is to make Kasthuri into a successful business woman. Jothi tells her husband she cannot understand her husband. She says on one side it is her son and on the other, husband. She is unable to speak up for either one. Kasthuri comes forward and tells Masil she has to tell him what she feels and wants. She tells Masil that all she wants is to make their company grow further and help people who need help and there is no other issue whatsoever in her mind and heart and walks away. Masil just looks at her.
Annamalai is writing a check. Radha brings coffee and Annamalai asks her to call Rekha. Rekha is playing wth her son downstairs. Radha calls her upstairs and Rekha goes up and asks why she is being summoned. Annamalai gives her a check and tells her to buy the first plot from the land they bought at Thindivanum and to begin the business. Rekha is happy and says the she and Santhosh are happy with the project and that Niwas wants her to work with him. Annamalai tells Rekha that he is happy with whatever decision she makes. Rekha is happy and goes out. Annamalai tells Rekha that both Niwas and Rekha are successful together in business and it would be great if they become life partners. Rekha hearing this is shocked and turns around. THODARUM.
). Jothi is in the car and sees Ram. She stops the car and calls Ram and asks him where he is going. Ram tells her he is leaving town but his mother tells him to stay with Ganesh. Ram says that is not possible. Jothi tells Ram that Kasthuri is the one who put hte money in the tiffin carrier for him and feels that she has feelings for Ram. Ram says it is not love but she has put the money because she feels sorry for him. Jothi then asks if she can drive him to where he wants to go but Ram refuses saying he is now used to walking and leaves. Jothi tells the driver to go and she walks to the temple.
