No offence to you, but this post reeks of double standards. You're allowed to hate Elena when she isn't with Damon, but SE fans aren't allowed to do the same? I don't have the energy to make another post listing all the reasons why I hate Elena, except for just saying that in MY opinion she screws up, & others have to pay, while she gets a Salvatore shoulder. But coming back to your points, if you are allowed to hate Elena for treating Damon like crap, SE fans are allowed to hate her for hurting Stef & sleeping with Damon the next day.

I've always hated Elena. I still hate her even if she is with Damon..
It's her actions that frustrate me. I get that nobody is perfect but to be as confused as she is. If things are so screwed up now, it's because she couldn't figure out what she wanted in time.. I actually liked book Elena much better. At least she was pretty sure about what she wanted majority of the time. Elena in the show changes her mind every episode. -__- I know the whole storyline is the triangle but bouncing back and forth between the brothers.. Triangles can be portrayed so much better than making the main character look like some idiot who doesn't have a mind of her own.. This a horrible example but I feel the Twilight triangle was much better. If nothing else, Bella was sure what she wanted and she stuck through it the entire time. Did her stance ruin the triangle? I don't think so.

I so agree. In Season 1 & 2, I was so happy to see a non Bella copy, someone who didn't sit around like a martyr, someone who was ready to jump into a well to save her love, rather than stand & pathetically cry. Someone who was grounded & sure of her decisions . I loved how Elena asked Ric to trach her to fight. The foucs shifting on the triangle, & they RUINED her char. Bleh.

I found the book lame so didn't delve much into the characters 😆 But you may be right.

@ bold- I totally agree with you Jot... I have a dislike for Elena becuase I've always felt she's using the brothers...It's like i'll use you now...no wait I need you now. It's frustrating and annoying to watch because more than two guys-these are two brothers and her indecisiveness is coming between their relationship..Frankly speaking, the salvatore brothers deserve better than her as I think they're too good for her...

I never always hated her. I just hated her when she was actually using Damon. There is a difference. If you can ever understand.

And BTW, no offense to you too, BUT you are the most weird Damon fan I have ever seen coz in one of my post you say you love Damon and that's an 'understatement'. And another one, you say you like DeFan above all and then I read, you love SE above DE and then I see Bamon is the reason TVD is worth something. So, I do not get it. AT ALL. 😆 So, I don't wanna discuss about this post being double standard at all. 🤢

And yes, for 3 Seasons Elena was with S...S being utterly boring person of the universe, and I liked her. Well, I didn't like her choice, she was stupid, idiot human with stupid teen hormones but I liked her. And now...Vampire Elena at least knows what she is doing. But Sire Bond is like punishment to her for all bad shitty things she did to Damon.

Plus. Have I ever called her 'Salawh**e' or 's**t'? No.

And about being SE fan, seriously, your ship has sunk. SE is so over. Get over it.

Oh. Trust me. I was thinking same before few weeks but THANKS to some of my DE friends here and Tumblr positive blogs and posts. I get to know her a little bit. 😊

And I agree. You know what she did was wrong, even with S she was drawn to Damon. Well, love can happen twice and I still deeply believe that what she had with S was just high school time flick romance. So, I was fine when I knew that she has feelings for Damon. BUT she knew and she hurt Damon which was so wrong. And about Triangle, yeah...That was messed up in Season 3 the most and I hated JP. Literally, hated JP. But now watching Season 4, I think this triangle will be over, with DE, of course. I seriously think that Elena can't go back to S now. SE has hit a major road block and I don't see any good future. And if she goes back to S (Please, DON'T😡) then I think I will be the first one to STOP watching TVD and I will kill JP with my own bare hands! 😡 Coz, at this point, I so believe that Triangle should be over now!

P.S. I have not read the books. So, I have no idea how this was handled in book. 😊

I have never understood the Elena hate...not from DE or SE people.

I think because of the intensity and the fast pace of this show people tend to forget that when this show started Elena was 17 year old. But its not even how young she is, its also in a short span of time she has suffered a huge loss when she lost her parents and then Jenna and so on. I myself have never suffered such an incredible loss (thank the good lord) but I have some friends who have and trust me it is a terrible thing to go thru at such a young age.

As much as I love Damon (and I adore that crazy vampire) I hate the fact that people (especially women) watching this show find it so easy to forgive both Stefan and Damon for all the horrible things they have done and then call Elena all kinds of things for being a teenager and not understanding what she really wants in life.

In some places I have read people being offended by Damon for sleeping with Caroline and in the next line calling Elena "Stefan's leftover". A fictional show aside, calling a woman, some man's "leftover" makes me so MAD! And its not men but women s**t shaming other women. Honestly it makes me sad and angry at the same time.

I didn hate Elena when she was with Stefan and I dont think SE shippers should hate her for being with Damon. When Elena was with Stefan no matter what she felt for Damon she was always straight with both of them about where she stood. They should remember that Stefan and Elena broke up. Elena is not cheating on Stefan and after the break up she doesn owe him anything. After the break up anything she does is her business and hers alone.

And don't you think SE fans are making big deal out of Elena breaking up and sleeping with Damon the next day? Come on...This is not an Indian drama with Ideals and high morals. 😆 If this is the only reason for Elena hate then I don't even wanna know. Screw it. Let them be.

BUT I do know one thing. Elena was-is-will be the main and center character of the show, whether anyone like it or not. So, I made peace with that for my own better. 😊

Guys, lets not get personal by talking about double standards here please. I'm very happy to see such healthy discussions going on at the forum and I'd like to maintain that.

As for your statement about TVD not being an Indian serial, IMadz [sorry, don't know your name. XD], I feel like that has nothing to do with morals. Especially not when it comes to sleeping with your ex boyfriends brother. It's values that EVERYONE learns. It's not restricted to a certain community. In fact, in Indian shows, sleeping with ANYONE is not encouraged XD But I have to agree with SE fans on how wrong it was for Elena too sleep with Damon right the next day. A siblings relationship is much more important than boyfriend and girlfriend. Elena screwed that up. She messed up DeFan. If I was in Stefan's place, and I found out that I broke up with my girlfriend YESTERDAY and she went and slept with my BROTHER the NEXT DAY, I would seriously question her character. I would question her ability to think for herself. Her humanity. I would question if she had a HEART. Feelings can be expressed without physically being involved. Delena have waited so long, she could've waited some more for the appropriate time. That way, Delena fans would've gotten something to actually cherish instead of it seeming like a "in the moment" kind of thing. We can't say it was well thought out. Stelena fans have been given the chance to talk and they every right to.

Elena's actions have always been questionable. So was this one.

Ok. Fine. SE took 10 episodes to get in bed while DE took 22+22+22+6=72 episodes to get in bed. They should have waited little, and everyone would respect them. And fine if that is wrong that there was so much physical tension that they ended up having each other just after one initial kissing. May be for JP Dex was pending for like years...so she gave it in haste! 😆 But I don't get it why S is angry. You broke up, mutually. And after break up, what Elena does and does not is not his business. Elena does not need to answer anything. This is purely my POV and its personal. And DeFan. Honestly, no one can break DeFan. They will stay mad at each other for a while but I don't think they will ever break up. Even Lexie, who really ruined Damon and broke DeFan for a while did not do that. DeFan will be fine. By the end of this season, DeFan will be together again. I just hope S lets her go with peace and stop trying to get cure for her.

I will not discuss further coz for Elena I don't wanna go that far, if it would have been Damon, I would probably write an essay! 😆

As I said, I made peace with the main character of the show coz she is never going to change. And someday, this triangle will be over(which is very very soon) and I will be very very happy DE fan! 😳 Coz I am not a true DE fan if I hate Elena. It does not make any logic if I hate the female partner and love the couple. 😛

And once again, you can close this topic if you want. My intention was to make little sense and unite TVD fans after that horrible PCA event where TVD won nothing. But TVD fans are far away from uniting coz they hate lead characters so much that uniting for TVD family is far far away. 😆
