I am too. I feel like if I didn't have that support system, I still would have been fine but it would have taken me a bit longer.

And I totally agree with that. It is incidents like this that show us who strong we are and how much power we have to persevere.

Please don't apologize, in situations like this all is allowed.

Our strength isn't the kind that men (stereotyping here) will acknowledge. Ours is the kind that builds worlds. It is the strength we lend to other people that make us strong, and that they give to us.

And that's not even the end of it.

That is my name Anu. 😳

Exactly. I should be grateful that nothing major happened and that I had friends who dropped everything to come and help me out.

It is time to move on and not dwell on the past.

Im so incredibly sorry you faced any sexual harrasment. Mot just you but im sorry for all the girls and even some men who are harrased and assaulted in even todaya day and age. Its disgusting and shameful that even in the 21st century some so called humans act like animals. And ita funny because even animal groupa are loyal and decent to their kind. So knowing humams cant be human beings to other human beings is a pure disgrace.
Im so sorry you had to face anything of a disgraceful nature and i honestly wished you had callled attention to yourself and humiliated the harrasers.

Im giving you a virtual hug. Hope you are okay.

There is immense beauty in that strength but immense sadness to. We aren't acknowledged for our individual strengths, but for the strengths that we lend to the community. It falls into the old ideology that women are not individuals; they are a part of something. A community, a society, a domestic sphere etc. We are never an individual identity but rather always dependent on others and are only considered important for the essentials and services that we can provide to others.

I really appreciate the love, strength and support you are sending my way. It truly means a lot. <3

It's shocking that these incidents still occur and that we still have to fight for our right to be considered as human beings. It is truly sad and depressing and breaks one's spirit. But then you do have people out there that do value the life of a human being and even the individuality of a person.

To be honest, I was in a moment of shock. I initially hadn't wanted to believe that such a thing was happening to me at all. But as it was occurring, it was a slow realization for me that whatever's happening is WRONG and it needs to be stopped NOW. So I eventually did tell him to stop, but upon reflection I could have reacted much more quickly.

I see what you're saying and I agree with it, we are more than just our services, and that's what I meant by the last sentence. We have all kinds of strength and that's what tends to get overshadowed I think.

We all get overshadowed by different ways. Discrimination based on biological sex, race, ethnicity, class, sexual orientation etc. all contribute to cripple a society rather than build it. If we create so many labels and categories to fit ourselves into, we will only see the differences and not the similarities between us.

I am doing much better on all fronts. There are some lingering effects that will pass away in due time. :)

Loll, I kind of don't want to do that because it's going to make me so paranoid and I will keep thinking that I am allowing for such a chance to occur again if that makes sense?

It's sickening that there are people like this in the world, who act inhumanely and believe they can violate others. In this case, men, unfortunately there are many men who have such sexist and disgusting mindsets who think they have the right to do anything they want to women. You are strong to react, no matter when you reacted. It's hard to react in such cases, (i feel so as well), because of the initial disbelief, shock, and horror. And it is important to remember you are not at fault at all, and you are not less or marked by this.I say this, because whichever case or degree of such an incident, I think we women inherently have a piece of us that feels like that unconsciously, even though we know it's not true.
Glad you spoke to your good friends about this, and shared it here with us.Sending support, and hugs gurleen. Rab rakha :)
