I am here and will be back😊
And however firm a believer I am of the Fire and Water analogy, I do love your Water and Earth parallel too.😊
Part unresI am not sure of any of the elements but mirth, and I have tears in my eyes. I am laughing so hard, difficult when I have to be silent, sitting beside my sleeping CM.
Ragini did suspect Abhimanyu to be Laksh and knew that he would reveal himself when his ring.. err.. Rags is going to be claimed by someone else.
But jokes aside, I loved the line, Being a son and being like a son, world of difference. And the twist, of AP and DP sternly resolve not to hand over the kingdom -oops - the fortunes to the steward (a beautiful and very tangential reference to Boromir / Faramir /Denthor - that is what struck me. I loved Faramir's character, cannot exactly say why, but I simply do)
Throwing the hanky, definitely, no towels allowed (BTW your ghandharva in a hanky rather than a towel😈 - blows your imagination😉)
I will get back with a detailed comment, my CM might wake up anytime
love you loads,
Nyna
Bwahahaha 😆🤣 Am so glad you were giggling at this...I was snorting and grinning while typing this, but then I have lost it today 😉😃
Ragu certainly expected her Abhi...errrmmm Lucky...errrmmm Gollum 😈, would come for her. Especially when she was being claimed by Nikhil ermmm Bilbo Baggins 😉
Yeah...a world of difference between being a child and being like a child. I don't blame DP and AP for being partial to the sons of their own flesh as opposed to the son after their own hearts. Certain biological impulses are hard codes in genes, after all. They can and do feel that Sanskaar is far superior to their progeny...and they do, I think, wish that he had been born their son indeed. But when push comes to shove...its always Lucky first, then Adarsh. And last Sanskaar. Massive pity, but there it is.
Where I do get bugged with AP especially, and next DP...is their repeated, vehement , holier than though assertion that they love Sanskaar just as much as their own sons. It's not true, not by a long chalk. Sanskaar knows it, much to his chagrin and dull ache---the disappointment has become so much a part of his self, that he just keeps on lavishing more adoration and respect on them, hoping for reciprocation. Or maybe not even hoping for that, anymore. 😭
Loved that you loved that dialogue---the tangential reference was indeed to Denethor, and by extension, Boromir and Faramir. This is a dialogue between Gandalf and Denethor; when Gandalf angrily points out that Denethor is merely steward, caretaker of Gondor. He does not have the right to deny the Return of the King (Strider as he is known then, the Ranger from the North. In reality, Aragon, son of Arathorn, heir of Isildur).
Faramir is one of my favorite characters too. 😳😊The way he struggles against his father's overfeeding partiality to Boromir; and yet does not let his own love for his elder brother waver or descend to jealousy and envy . ...it is so very admirable. Shades of Sanskaar in Faramir; Lucky or Boromir, and DP/AP in Denethor. Of course, in the context of this Drabble, I conceptualised Sunny more as Aragon, with some elements of Faramir. 😉 Return of the King , after all. And what a Maharana he would be. 😉
Oh yes, throw in the hanky only, no towel. 😳😉 And Nynu...Gandharva in hanky and not towel huh? ☺️🤪 Yikes . ...now our imaginations are running away with us. 😆🤣 I devoutly hope that hanky is strategically positioned and of a considerable enough size to----ahem!----cover his family jewels. 😉 Let's not wish otherwise...only Swara has viewing and ownership rights over chotte Sanskaar after all...if you know what I really mean. 😉
Hope your CM is sleeping soundly and peacefully. 🤗 Give him a cuddle from me.
Loads of Love
