Unres 😉

I really loved the Vignettes, Nynu. The way you had structured the introspection and reflections of all 4, the regrets and pain that afflict each---it was masterful.

And the titles were chosen with such great care and attention to symmetry---Realization, Remorse, Regret and Reluctance. 👏👏 With the Retrospection in the end adding a lovely touch too.

I loved that quote by Steven Erikson , this is new to me and I shall remember it long afterwards. It was so fitting to your tale, it seemed to have been said to fit 'Litost'. 😊

The siggies were wonderful...each of them. The gray coloring, the background. ...it all brought out the essential pathos of the situation all 4 find themselves in.

The song lyrics you had inserted were lovely too, aptly illustrating the yearning each of them feels for sunnier times, warmer climes. But now all that is left seems to be the dark coldness of desolation and loneliness...with each regretting that they had let the other go, or in a sense, furious that they are unable to truly let the other go, despite their best efforts. 😭 The different and yet similar way in which all of them suffer, was brought out beautifully.

What was most special perhaps, was the way you brought out RagLak's emotions as well. As SwaSan fans, it's perhaps easier to identify with the agony our Golden pair is going through. But it's amazing to see that level of analysis for the other pair too---and as I find Ragini truly a very compelling, layered character (next only to Sanskaar in that department, at least IMHO), I loved reading about them too.

Couple of other snippets I loved---the analogy of Swara (Shona) to malleable, beaten gold. Sanskaar's poignant reflections about how he had never come first in the affections of anyone in his family. And Ragini's reflections on the multitude of sins she had committed to 'possess' Lakshya...only to have him desert her again
..and again...and again. (She deserved the harsh treatment the first time round for sure...but later, not really.)

Lots of Love

I am happy you could connect, the problem would be if one liked the song and the writing did not fit the same, you could end up not liking the song anymore.

I just love the song - there are days when I simply play it on a loop - on and on and on.(you would be able to guess my mood at those times😆)

Thank you for reading it, it was an experiment for me and every word, every comment is precious to me.

love,
Nyna

Res Nynu. 😳

Read it dear. It was so beautifully written about all the 4 - Swara, Sanskar, Ragini and Laksh. 😃
Will unres tomorrow dear. 😳
Unresed. 😃
Sanskar :-
What he feels about his Bade Papa and Bari Maa is really very true. He loves and respects them more than his own parents (not that he doesn't loves and respects his own parents), but his Bade Papa and Badi Maa is always partial towards him and his cousin bro Laksh. 😭 All Sanskar wanted was a brotherly bond between him and his cousins Adarsh and Laksh, but he didn't get that too. 😔 After Ragini's evil deeds and heinous allegations against him, he realized that they can be friends anymore. 😔 Nothing to say about Kavita! 🤢 And Swara?? 😭 The one person, whom he loved so much, left him due to misunderstandings between them! She mistrusted him for her sister, that sister, who tried to kill her twice and even performed her 'shraadh'!! 😭
Laksh :-
In order to take revenge from Ragini, he married Kavya (wrong descision), who wrercked his family. And also due to his wrong decision, SwaSan's relation were at risk! 😭 He misunderstood Swara that she ran from their wedding, he himself married Ragini. Although he couldn't accept Ragini as his wife, he didn't believed Swara either. 😕 Due to his mistrust, he lost her friendship. 😔 He even used his cousin sister Uttara as his pawn to take revenge from Ragini and poor Uttara had to bear the burnt. 😔 His parents always supported him in his each and every decision, but still he couldn't be the son they wanted.😔 Sanskar, his cousin brother, his idol, but still he didn't even think twice to mistrust him. 😔 Its true that he can't love Ragini like the way she loves him, although had grown to love her, after she changed, she even almost gave her life for saving him, but still he left her alone. 😔
Swara :-
What she thinks about her Maa and Baba is absolutely true. 😔 She always believes and trust her sister Ragini, more than what she should, even more than Sanskar, who was always there for her through thick and thin. 😭 She realized that what she felt for Laksh was not love, but a mere attraction. And the most important person in her life, her Sanskar, whom she should have her trust and faith, she didn't trust him when he needed her the most and she regrets her decision of not having faith in him. 😭
Ragini :-
She schemed against her own sister, Swara, for her love for Laksh, who in turn betrayed her by marrying Kavya. And when Swara and Sanskar supported her, she understood how she had wronged them before. 😔 What she thinks about her Maa is true too. And she also realized that how she lost the right to be Sanskar's friend anymore. 😔 She also realized that her Dadi hated Swara and Shomi more than she loved her, that's why she always supported her when she wronged Swara. 😕 And Laksh, for whom she did her evil deeds before, went against her own sister too, left her when she needed him the most, but she still feels that she will always love him, no matter what. 😕 She also regretted that she wronged SwaSan again when she along with Laksh performed SwaSan 'anteem sanskar.' But it was too late then. 😭
And finally all the 4 realized that
Sanskar :- No matter what, he could never let Swara go away from him. 😳
Swara :- Even after Sanskar being her rays of light, she regretted that she have actually let him go from her life. 😭
Ragini :- After what Laksh did to her, she reluctantly thinks that she should let him go away from her for some time. 😔
Laksh :- He remorsefully thinks that even after Ragini loves and support him before anyone else, he have let her go away from him, which he shouldn't have done. 😔
Nynu dearest, I really loved the way how u wrote and described about all 4, i.e., Sanskar, Swara, Ragi and Laksh's agony. 😃 I loved reading it. ❤️ Thanks for the pm. 😃
With love,
Aheli.

Dear Viji,

Firstly I am thrilled that you liked the titles, they are a fetish of mine and I spent a considerable time on them, Ragini was the most difficult, I originally thought of 'Retransformation' before deciding on 'Reluctance' somehow feeling that it fit better.

That quote was a last minute addition (I seem to have a fetish for quotes too😆😆) but it does fit very well, does it not, almost as well as Swara fits in Sanskaar's arms (when will we get to see that scene again😭😭)

I am a SwaSan fan but I somehow never felt that one should dislike the other couple (as borne out by most of my writings and I adored RagLak in Soapbubbles - The best of Things, both the couples were amazing). But that said, Ragini was easy to write, Laksh was quite difficult. In fact keeping aside the couples, on an individual basis, my order of fascinating characters would be Sanskaar followed by Ragini. Swara is two dimensional most of the time - good or bad, never in between and Laksh, his character is the least developed, almost flat (this is a view my mother subscribes to, also.)

I loved that song, there are days I listen to it on a loop, but the idea that the lyrics could be so used, came to me a few days ago, and I had to get it out. The banners took time, thought😊

The show never focuses on the different yet similar pangs of agony that the four of them are going through, and while I love Swara and Sanskaar's tashaan, it seems to be losing its appeal, with Swara simply refusing to see the error of her ways. As you said, the only way out seems to be writing about it, which gives me an idea- a mini OS. (I am completely crazy).

Swara / Shona as malleable gold - fits her character, she needs copper / silver to make her firm, which would be the realisation that in real life, there is nothing strictly right or wrong, only different levels of right. And when she chooses which 'right' to side with, she has to choose well, choose wisely, rather than rush into foolish decisions.

And both of us, to an extent Lucky too, did cover the idea, in some way or the other, as to how Sanskaar is never the first in anybody's affections, so when he fell in love for Swara, he wished and hoped that she would place him first. Alas, like everyone else she let him down. Remember Kishore Kumar's song - these lines would be apt for Sanskaar

'Hum se mat poocho kaise
Mandir toota sapnon ka
Gairon ka kam nahin hai
Ye kissa hai apnon ka'

Ragini, truly does not deserve Laksh leaving her, but he always does, which is why in the end she feels, that maybe, she should let him go... (surprisingly, it appears that she has done so, convinced Laksh is dead and yet willing to pretend he is alive - paradoxically, she has let him go. I have a theory for this Abimanyu / Laksh one, will let you know once I word it😊

Dear Harpreet,

Thank you. As I wrote in the preface it was an experiment for me too and I was worried if I could do justice to RagLak. With your words, I am content.
