Dearest friends and readers,
I have just posted Chapter 21 on page 1, in discharge of my promise of a weekend update! Sorry this week I haven't managed 2 chapters although I might try to get the next one up as soon as possible. However, I am struggling with illness so do bear with me if I take a few days more than usual. Hope you will like 21 and as ever will be generous with likes and comments!

Lots of love,

Loved this Chapter. After some heavy and dark stuff this was so lighthearted right from having fun at the fair to Sanskar's thoughts about kissing Swara and the puppet show.
But the best was Swara finally realizing her love for Sanskar.Yaayy!

Loved how Sanskar realized that Swara was attracted towards the lovelier clothes but would never take it from him.And Swara didn't want to look at what he was selecting because that will weaken her resolve.

The bangle scene was brilliant. The care and tenderness with which Sanskar made Swara wear the bangles was beautiful. But why did he step in front of the shopkeeper and make Swara wear the bangles himself. Is it because he din't want others to see her bruises or because of his possessiveness.
Pretty sure it's the latter reason.

Swara's realization was awesome. The way she was thinking how fortunate would be the woman who is married to him ,that it would be the greatest gift and then thinking what if it was her?.
Just loved this part,it was so natural .

It was funny seeing Sanskar jealous of Pawan and it increased further when Swara was all smiling with Pawan and irritable with Sanskar. The puppet show with Mohini and henpecked Mohan was hilarious. Loved how Pawan took revenge on Sankar for being made to play the female part by making Mohan do all demeaning stuff.

Now that Swara has realized her love, just waiting for their mutual confession.Am sure that it's going to be magical.

Hope your feeling better Shruti.

Chapter 21:

Oh so you directly took us to the fair. I thought SwaSan will have some romantic moments on horsie enroute to the fair😳😉

Swara has so much of self respect to not take undue advantage of Sanskaar's generosity She concentrates on her needs rather than her wants & just goes for the clothes she thinks she would need for the next few days. But Sanskaar is in an indulgent mood & wishes to grant his lady loves's every wish...both said & unsaid😳 Aadatein mat bigaado uski Sanskaar, shaadi ke baad bada bhaari padega😆 Them picking out clothes for one another was so cute And seriously Sanskaar, if you take a woman out shopping with you no way in hell she lets you buy any dull colours. Of course she would want to clothe you in dark rich colours...you look so handsome in them Prince And she bought a tunic matching with her dress😆 That is as much hint as your bashful Princess will ever drop that she loves you Sanskaar😆 Jyada kuch expect mat karna😆 😆 Baki sab tumhe hi karna hoga😆

Swara nibbling at her lip & then her pouting which distracts Sanskaar was so ☺️ ☺️ ☺️

Trust Swara to find enjoyment in the simplest of things, be it fairs or bangles or puppets😳 It was so easy to picture a little Swara running about the whole fair jumping with joy at every little thing. And so typical of a little Swara that it is the glass bangles which catch her attention because they are so colourful instead of the gold or silver ones which she could have had ordered any day.

Finally after 20 chapters Swara realizes what was obvious to us readers from chapter 1😆 She loves him 🥳That whole chudiwala scene was so ☺️ There is something deeply sensual about hands, they tell a lot about a person, and between two right people a mere brush of a hand is enough to fan all latent deeply hidden feelings😉 The part where he is sliding those bangles up her wrist & she is studying his bent head (Sanskaar's hair) & thinking he would make some very lucky woman a great husband is perfectly written. Finally she gets it that THIS thing which she has been feeling for so many days now is what the rest of the world calls love😆👏 Der aaye durust aaye👏 I noted her Gadodia bangle is with him now. That needs to be put to some excellent ROMANTIC use in the near future sometime after their mutual confession😉

I think it is natural for Swara to be very scared of her newly realized love😳 So much has been happening to her in the past few days & love is complicated enough even when everything is hunky dory in your life. So naturally she just wants to run back to the safety of her tent lest he reads more into her eyes than she is willing to share atm😳

Retail therapy always does wonders for a girl's depression😆 It seemed to help Swara with her's as well till she realized she was in love

🤣 🤣 🤣 so now Sanskaar is going to be jealous of all men in general. Prince Jalkukda 🤣 Pawan was so right...the horse takes after the master! Waha Veer didn't like Swara giving even a little bit of attention to Varun...n yaha Sanskaar too hates it when she even mentions any other man in his presence😆 Pawan is like a genie. Always popping in at the exact right moment to make things right AND most importantly to make fun of Sanskaar & annoy him as much as possible 🤣 Sacchi aur gehri dosti ke yehi toh sab lakshan hote hai👏 How many times does he plan on using the "Sanskaar's wounded back" excuse. Even a naive girl like Swara will realize that ploy of yours soon enough Pawan😆 Finally Pawan ne bata hi diya that he knows that Sanskaar is in love😆

So he made his poor soldiers carry sacks full of her clothes & bangles😲 Poor men!😆 And then the best part of the chapter. The Puppet Show of Mohan & Mohini 🤣 So no matter what Sanskaar said I suspect he used to be Mohini at times but this time he refused since Swara was here?😉 And boy luck really isn't favouring him much today. Mohan ban toh gaya but Mohan nikla joru ka ghulaam 🤣 and he cant even refuse to play that scene now since Swara too wants to see him getting bullied by Mohini😆

The nights are always the worst when everything is so quite & the world has gone to sleep. That is when the nightmares come awake Swara was so happy the entire day but come night she is once again assailed by uncertainty & thinks she needs Sanskaar's firm presence to fight her demons & ofc Sanskaar obliges by agreeing to spend the night with her.😳

Such a light & fun chapter Shru after the angst filled previous ones. Loved it 🤗

Edit: I completely forgot to add this when I updated the comment. But you aren't escaping that easily from me😆 Like I told you on WA I want an OS on that puppet show Shru😆

Chapter 20 was simply Wow..!!😃😃 I just loved it a lot..😳

The nightmares she was having even in that sedated state were awful😲😲 Thank god she was feeling safe in his embrace, even then..😳 The way he kept tightening his hold around her now and again, whenever he felt afraid of losing her was just And bechara lovesick Sanskaar😉 he wanted to do something more than just hold her, but he kept his self control, since he knew that Swara would be hurt if he did something like that..😳 And when they woke up together, both of them were clearly attracted to each other..But our Sanskaari Sanskaar got up from the mattress even before anything happened😃😃 But I really loved the way Swara snuggled close to the imprint of his body on the bed sheet, so that she could sleep with the safe feeling of his warmth..

I am loving Pawan a lot after this update, his interaction with Sanskaar is really amusing..the way he indicated to Swara about Sanskaar not taking care about his injuries and Sanskaar's displeasure at it was😆 Loved his conversations with Swara too..About the horses, Lakshya and all..😊

Swasan moments inside the tent were also really beautiful..Poor Swara she is sad at the thought of leaving him and going back to her family now..

I really loved the way Swara tried to console Sushesna in his tent..No wonder all the men were in awe of her..Even Sanskaar was looking at her in respect and love..😳

I extremely enjoyed the last few paragraphs, were the men came to talk to Swara..

love

Dearest Naina 🤗

Thank you so much for the appreciation on 20! Yes, Swara was bound to suffer and it didn't matter what she took, the nightmares were bound to plague her . But yes, she had the safe haven he created for her as sanctuary- much needed it was too! Sanskaar is seriously having to give ultimate tests of his will power no? 😆 Ah yes, see the attraction is bubbling over big time but he's so honourable, he thinks he has to protect her from himself, hence he doesn't take that last little step that would tip things over for them.

Glad you liked Pawan and what he managed to do for our slightly pig-headed but adorable couple! Sanskaar cannot even do anything to him 😆 and yes, I did want a Swara-Pawan bonding moment 😃

The tables have turned for them both but especially for Swara- now returning seems like a big punishment to the poor girl . Glad you loved the scenes with Sushena and then later with the tribute by the soldiers to their General's Princess 😳

Thanks again for this Nainu.

Love,
Shru xoxo

Res for # 21 😊

Un-Res

Hey Shru...🤗 🤗

First off, trust that your health is better, and that you are on the mend from the bout of flu and sore throat that have been so plaguing you.

I was so touched by the dedication, and your lovely weaving of my specially requested "chudi scene" into the narrative. 🤗 🤗 And, not being a particularly keen fan of either SRK or Kajol, dare I say that I found the scene in DK far, far more evocative than the one in K3G (I didn't much care for that movie, either---I know that might sound sacrilegious to some, but it was all gloss, no substance, no soul. IMHO, at least. The very opposite of our SwaSan---who are all soul, all substance, with a crackling, spellbinding chemistry to match!) 😉

More on that chudi scene later. 😊 Before that, I wanted to say how apt the title was---"The Road to Renascence". And tied in with the location, too--"Punarjatpur". 👏 You know that these little nuggets, the attention to detail is something I so like, tucked into the overall story arc. I was grinning to myself at the very start, even before I had greedily devoured the chapter itself. 😆

I loved the gentle, semi light hearted, yet romantically intense interlude this chapter afforded. After the gut wrenching intensity of some of the preceding chapters, this served as a soothing lull---though somehow, reading your foreword, I do suspect this might be the lull before a poetic storm hits them, and us!? (Note the accent on poetic, I know you'll understand what I mean). 😉

So like Swara to not take Sanskaar for granted, to not have the "entitlement complex" which so many young ladies of her status of the time might have been expected to have. It is a combination, I guess, of her and Sharmishta's circumstances when she was younger, as well as the intrinsically empathetic and generous soul that she is; that she does not want to take any advantage of Sanskaar's very apparent desire to buy her whatever she wants, at the fair.

And so it was, that though her eyes were caught momentarily by some of the fine fabrics on display, with intricate, delicate patterns; she steeled herself to move on after just a cursory glance. She was quite determined to settle on just the simple fabrics, wasn't she---she was so particular that she not make Sanskaar encounter any "outrageous" expense on her behalf. 😊 I liked the humorous retort Sanskaar made, that he might be a Prince on the run, but he had enough means to buy her some clothes and baubles. 😉 Its another matter, of course, that Sanskaar would take so much joy in buying Swara stuff that would make her smile, it is as much for him, as for her, no? 😳 When will Swara realize that her valiant chevalier would do anything for her---he would give his all, his whole self for her, so what does the money for a few items matter? ☺️

I liked the description of the turquoise colored dress which he picked for her (and though he let her apparently discard it along with the other rich clothes, wrapping instead the rather simple and basic stuff she'd insisted on picking out, I SO knew that he was having the other set packed as well 😉). Blue is my favorite color, and was just thrilled when Swara, in her turn, picked out a dark blue tunic for Sanskaar. 😳 He would have looked just dashing in that, for sure. 😉 And was there a hidden desire in her heart to ensure some symmetry there, I wonder---he had selected a turquoise dress for her, and here she was, choosing a dark blue tunic for him. 😳

Those little snippets of how much difficulty Sanskaar was having in controlling his potent love and desire for Swara, was romantic and sensuous of course, and in an odd way, very touching, too. How tempting he found her guileless gesture of nibbling on her lips when she was trying to decide something, her becoming pout when he was attempting to protest that the tunic she selected for him was too rich 😳 If only he realized that she would be very far from being disgusted, if he let his self control slip for the duration of a warm, soulful kiss.

I think on some level, they have both already started recognizing the undercurrents flowing between them. When Swara places her hand on Sanskaar's mouth, almost without conscious thought, to stop him from blaming himself again for the pain and sorrow she underwent, for example. Sanskaar was nearly overwhelmed by his very understandable desire to gently grasp her hand, to kiss her fingers almost reverently. And Swara was as keen to prolong that intimate contact. 😳 Something of what he feels for her has started making itself felt to Swara, though she is yet to fully understand it, naive and innocent as she is.

That set the stage beautifully for the lovely chudi scene. That whole sequence just oozed a feeling of romance, sure; but also the pure love and concern these two have for each other. That image certainly is an evocative one---a valiant, battle hardened, powerful knight so delicately and lovingly sliding bangles along his beloved's wrist and forearms. Checking all the while to ensure he isn't hurting her in the slightest. It was a wonderful template to fit in Swara's epiphany---and the best part was, that this was kind of like the crest of a wave, in a sense. It wasn't as if this came out of the blue, with no hints or signs in sight before. It was a gradual crescendo, at some level she had probably already become aware of how much she adored this man, and how much the fact that he cared for her so much, meant to her. The recent cataclysmic events they faced together, had only served to heighten her awareness of how complete she felt with him. And this was the perfect time for her to have those last shreds of doubt, of denial perhaps, get dispelled.

And the way she reacted instinctively to that epiphany---almost blindingly brilliant in its clarity---was well delineated. I could actually see Swara reacting in precisely this manner. After all, while some part of her heart and mind does know that Sanskaar cares for her a lot, is concerned for her, feels something for her; she is not yet completely certain of exactly what that something is.

That whole sequence of her trying tremulously to conceal her emotions from his searching, concerned gaze, was wonderful. She does realize, I think, that Sanskaar is attuned to her every expression, her every mood---and nothing of what she feels, could stay hidden from his searching gaze for very long. His eyes peer into the very depths of her soul, don't they? 😳 I felt like hugging Swara and telling her to join the dots from there---if the Prince cared so much for her as to read her every expression, surely that ought to mean a lot more than mere concern. 😊 But she would certainly need time to process what she feels, analyze her emotions (and what she thinks of his), in greater detail. And perhaps they do not have too much time before some new storm hits them...😕

I found the fact that her gold bangle with the Gadodia crest is now with Sanskaar, very symbolic. Shru, he is going to hold on to that like a talisman, isn't he, during the time of their (hopefully brief) separation? They are both going to yearn for each other with such palpable intensity---Swara would have the bangles and clothes he bought her to hold on to; and I guess Sanskaar is going to cherish that bangle as if it was worth more than his own life!

I feel quite selfish requesting another chudi/ kangan sequence after the one you've already so generously given. 😊 But I would SO love to read a scene (later, once all the clouds have been dispelled and their mutual love confession has happened), where Sanskaar adoringly places the Gadodia khada back on Swara's wrist; along with another one--bearing the Maheshwari crest. 😉

Sanskaar's almost primal, instinctive jealousy of his best friend, though he knew perfectly well there was no need in the world for him to feel that way---was absolutely hilarious! 😆 Looking murderous and almost as if he would want to strangle Pawan---🤣. All because poor Swara, in a desperate attempt to keep up some idle chatter, asked where Lord Pawan was! 😉 Of course, poor man, he and the other men were busy doing Sanskaar's bidding---buying all the clothes and bangles Sanskaar had selected for his inamorata!

Pawan and Veer are now the cupids for SwaSan. 😆 I just adore the pretty direct, almost brazen way Pawan sets about this task, with great gusto, too! The way he told Sanskaar so clearly that he, and all the men, could so clearly see Sanskaar was head over heels in love with Swara---priceless!! I think it might be perhaps left to him, to knock some sense into Sanskaar later---that Swara loves him every bit as much as he loves her! 😊

And again, that small scene where Swara feeds that sweet to Sanskaar, and despite himself, he really isn't able to resist touching his lips gently to Swara's fingers---was sensuous, romantic, tender. All rolled into one. 😳 And Sanskaar does realize that he affects her on some level---he felt quite pleased (understandable masculine ego 😉) at the way her breath caught at his gesture. In his case, he probably realizes Swara feels for him; but is not sure whether it is just an untutored, guileless response of an innocent girl, responding to the man who has been her protector in a sense. He still probably thinks she deserves a man better than him--at least, less complicated than him, with a future less in jeopardy and doubt.

That scene back at the camp, with Sanskaar surprising Swara with all the clothes and bangles she'd liked but rejected; was so touching. She was just so overwhelmed by the tenderness he'd displayed, the attention to her every glance, her every slightly felt, unspoken wish. And as before, she sought comfort and solace in his arms, and neither felt in the least bit awkward by their embrace, the way Sanskaar gently wiped the tears from her face. A testament to how much they belong with each other now, despite all their internal confusion about this.

The puppet show which the Valiant General/ Prince Sanskaar and his right hand, Pawan, put up for Swara's entertainment was so much fun to read about. Sanskaar would in reality, do anything just to keep that smile on Swara's face, hear her tinkling laugh ring out. Pawan laying down the terms and conditions of his cooperation---that he would play Mohini only if he got to bully Mohan---was too good! 😆 I think he only desisted from insisting that Sanskaar play Mohini's role, since he knew his friend would want to maintain his valorous image in front of the Princess! 😉 But they needn't have bothered, right? Sanskaar could play any role, Swara would never think of him as anything but the most valiant and powerful of knights.

And the ending---you ensured that they continue the trend of "sleeping together" that started from the time they reached the haveli. 😳 So understandable that Swara was still terrified by the foreboding that her nightmares could return. With the ordeal she underwent, healing would take some time. And who better to ensure those nightmares do not return, that she feels comforted and warm and secure---than the person she has now realized she loves with every fiber of her being? She implicitly trusts in his honor, and despite her recent trauma, she wants him right by her side. Her falling asleep, her being at her most vulnerable with him right next to her, is testament to the adoration and faith she places in him---I SO wish Sanskaar, in his turn, would join the dots there and realize what he means to her.

The way he earlier resolved to go back to his tent as soon as she was sound asleep, but then just wasn't able to help himself, was very moving. He feels they are going to be parted soon, and he wants as many memories of this heavenly time spent with the love of his life, to stockpile and cherish later. The way their bodies mimicked their already entwined souls---and drifted together, with Swara safely ensconced in her Sanskaar's protective arms---was a lovely image.

All in all, it was a lovely read, and I'm looking forward to chapter 22. After you have completely recovered, of course.

Loads of Love

Unres-
Hi Shruti!! Finally unresing!! I'll unres both 21 and 22 today itself as I won't get time till 3 days then and I can't keep you waiting till then as I already have! So coming to chapter 21-
I just loved this once Shruti!! I loved it like anything, I tell ya. This whole chapter was dedicated to the fair and then SwaSan moments. Like the calm before a storm!

Of course, Swara would cling as close to Sanskaar as would be possible. After all the torment that she had to go through, well surely she would feel that fear around her. The older Swara would have surely done that. She would have excitedly run over all the stalls and I'm sure would have dragged Sanskaar as much as she could in her excitement. Aww!! So Sanskaar notices her looking an expensive dress and he wants to buy that for her. When I was small, I had a lehenga choli just like you described, deep turquoise with lots of embroidery and work on it. I'm heads over heels for blue (All the more after Sanky's blue t-shirt) since childhood so I used to insist on buying everything blue! It just reminded me of that.

'We don't need to hide anymore' well yeah!! As soon as I'd read this line, I knew she'll be reminded of how she'd been abused by that brute! And it came out to be as I'd thought. She flinched, but Sanskaar wouldn't like her spoiling this outing with him right? So Swara nibbling her lip has a dangerous effect on Sanskaar, uh? Poor guy! He's having a hard time controlling his raging emotions! Such a self-control!! I applaud you Prince Sanskaar.

These two are such selfless people ain't they? I mean honestly, however hurt they are, the concern is always for the other one, Or maybe as Sanskaar said in the show, Pyaar ka jaado aisa hi hota hai. Sanskaar so sweetly says, 'It makes me happy' Oh boy!! If such a guy asks you in such a cute innocent way, nobody can say a no man, and then the touch of her hand to his lips adds to it.! Cute para. Actually the whole update was too cute<3 'His delight infectious' I just loved this phrase, I don't know why!! Maybe I'm too insane, but still I loved it.

Swara hates parting for him and yet isn't able to name her feelings as 'Love' but I guess I shouldn't say this as she just did it in the next paragraph. You're so insistent on blue na? Do you also love blue? Swara in turquoise and Sanskaar in deep blue (Deep blue on Sanskaar is so lucky) Her pout<3 I can imagine how cute and dangerous it would be!! Poor Sanskaar.. But I'm sure Swara's choice would be just perfect because blue looks very sexy on our Sanskaar, in the show yeah but still!!

The bangle part was veryyy beautiful!! Shruti, of course Swara realises her feelings for Sanskaar but apart from that also the whole scene had been written so well. I read it and reread it<3 Such an amazing one. Swara has reluctance in wearing the bangles by the shopkeeper and her Knight comes and then, takes the bangles and puts them on her hand and I tell ya, this whole one paragraph when hamari Swaraji realises that her Prince Charming/ Grumpy is making her wear the bangles.

That gold bracelet with Gadodia written on it. Of course, how can we forget that incident and now even Swara is smiling remembering that. That was a time when she wanted to dash and run as fast and far away as she could and now she's trying her level best to convince Sanskaar to let her stay with him. Time!!*sighs* How slowly and carefully he makes her wear those bangles, with intense love and care for her, bursting from his lovelorn heart. Honestly, how can a man be so perfect? A perfect knight, the best saviour, an unconditional lover and the most amazing friend you can ever have. Now I wanna cry, I want someone like Sanskaar that is it!! There is only being single written in my lines...lol. Obviously dude, any girl would be overwhelmed with emotions and tears when a guy cares so much for her, as if worshipping her. The way she imagines, that Sanskaar's wife would be the luckiest girl in this whole world and then place herself there, finally realising that YES!!! SHE LOVES HIM!! NYMPH PRINCESS LOVES HER PRINCE GRUMPY! Whoopeee

Offo!! I now get what you meant when I reread the whole chapter again (I always do so before writing boring sagas) Swara feels that Sanskaar cannot love her and would send her away and therefore doesn't confess her feelings for him. There Sanskaar thinks that of course, why would Swara love him, when he is the one who almost destroyed her life (he didn't do so, credit goes to Ragini) So yeah!! Both are babies are in love and believe the fact that there is no chance of the other one reciprocating the same.

Puppet shows!! I tell you I love puppet shows, my first puppet show had been when I'd gone to Udaipur as a school trip and I was 11 and I'd shot that thing completely and just loved it to the core. This reminded me of that. The entire show that Pawan and Sanskaar had put up was too amazing!!! Swara would have laughed her heart out with Mohini bullying Mohan...LMAO!! Such a cute scene!! Loved it<3

Sanskaar is jealous of Pawan ROFLMAO!! Like seriously?? He knows how baseless that is yet he is jealous that Swara took Pawan's name!! Aoww Gawwd!! And Pawan says, thats why he looks so mruderous? Jeez, it was too hilarious!! Pawan directly says you being in love!! Guts eh? Man, otherwise the murderous glare that Sanskaar was shooting at him, I'm sure I would have kept quite mum. The ghevar part was again cute!! I'm gonna say cute for almost everything and you'll have to bear it, kay? No nakhre like Sanskaar!!

Aww...he buys so many things for Swara. Such a caring Knight!! Jeez, the hug was so beautiful, the way she threw her arms over him when her love for him was at it's peak!! Loved it and then she asked him to stay beside her again! She's scared again!! Poor gal. Anyways the udpate was amazing and CUTE!!
Will unres 22 soon, I mean as soon as possible!!
Love ya bearing me

Unres

Hi Shruti🤗 ...

Finally gotten around to Unres... I really loved this Chapter dear. Finally a day where they are alone and not think about villians like devendra. 😃

I totally get Swara..If it was before she would be dragging Sanskar to all the stalls in childlike glee but now the past incidents are too fresh in her mind and i loved the dress shopping, especially where sanskar wished to change in the blue dress to make her smile 😃.

Loved the bangles scene too.❤️ The way he stepped in and helped her wear it. Also how his choice were perfectly matched Swara interests and the whole flashback which made her go on the train of thoughts thinking him as an perfect husband material and voila she finally realized she is in love. I so loved her realization and her avoiding his gaze after that.😃

Sanskar is jealous of Pawan now😆. And there mini fight and Pawan playing Cupid were so good. And when they returned even when he had important matters he checked upon her inspite of being tired himself and even put on an Puppet show for her just to make his mermaid princess smile. I am thankful Pawan is still playing the cupid.👏

And i dont have to say how much i love there sleeping arrangements ,since you know about it already😉 . Awesome update Shruti . I really loved reading it .😊
