*Updated for Chapter 17*
Shruuu !! This is a wonderfully written chapter, the suspense, the dread, the feeling of helplessness, I felt it all !! Bravo really !

Swara is my true hero here !! She really went all out in trying to distract that lechorous piece of crap **Devendra...ugh...🤢...totally and completely detest him**

Supremely brave of her to attempt and hoodwink DSR into believing she was an unwilling captive of Sanskaar and wanted nothing more than to go home. She tries to use her innocent face and appearance to further her cause but that has a completely opposite and unwanted effect becuase DSR is a dog and he sees through it all ! He's not baited, infact entraps her into his depraved plans !! *what kind of nonsensical royals do they paalo man* !!

True to her Rajput-ness, even though she sees that she's not succeeding as much as she'd hoped to, she still sticks to her story and ploughs on !! Not dwelling too much on DSR's action because...it gave me the creeps and I really worried for her safety !! He's proved that he's a nutjob of the first order and completely bereft of any moral compass !! *still eeewing*

Swara's plight when she faces the worst of it is heart wrenching, and even worse because even at that juncture she's still trying to make sure DSR doesn't hurt Sanskaar as much. I whoooped with joy when she picks up that dagger to wound him and only wish she had done him more damage !! But seriously, to go through all that and still be in her senses to free Sanskaar is only something that the brave and do and I believe Swara through this chapter has proved her worth !! I don't think anyone can now doubt her grit !

Sanskaar...my heart went out to him. It must be horrible to witness such atrocities being committed to the one you love so much, and being unable to do anything about him. Throughout his roars and angry howls, all you can see is how much pain he feels...something that DSR latched on to therefore increasing his assault on Swara !! To know what the man is capable of, and to see the danger that Swara put herself in on his account, must naturally rip him apart !! And then to be visited by the old nemesis *who i hope he kills violently in the next installement*...eeks...

When she frees him, sword in hand as he kisses her forehead...its reassurance to both her and himself and probably also an apology !! Such a small gesture, but so loaded with meaning.

In the last update, I was saying that DSR should basically just kill Sanskaar, because once Sanskaar is freed (thanks to S's efforts and the fact that the arrogance of the stupid man was his downfall), he will not spare him. Even if an army appears *as they are now poised to fight*. I think DSR underestimated teh worth of Swara in Sanskaar's eyes and will feel the wrath painfully !! *whooopeee*

Totally waiting for the blaze of glory in the next part, but also at the same time worried about Swara's PTSD...I only hope that the two of them are able to stay strong and give each other the support. Sanskaar needs to make sure she doesn't shatter !

You've written this chapter so well, even with its less than appealing villain, it still grips you. I kept trying to coax myself to read faster so I could scroll down to the light at the end of the tunnel !! Never wanted a chapter to end sooner...and maybe that's what you were going for ? :)

I'll see you at the next chapter...you take rest and don't worry about the 18...you deserve the break ! Relax, recuperate and rejoice :)

P.S : Thanks for not makign PKJ the traitor...phewww...also are merry men appearing in the next chapter...*i know you'll say wait and watch...so telling myself that :P*

as usual..P&J in abundance for you...mwaaah...

Shruti...dear😊
Its 3.35 am...and I admit I am an owl ...😆
Omg dear.It was a dangerous one...
It was very painful to think about princess swara in that situation
That beast ,that jerk is a filthy animal...😡.

I could see sanskar's state, poor swara..she as trying her best to save sanskar and her dignity both.😕.
I have too much hatred for persons like Devendra.Just because ,you are man...you can do any filthy act!!!!how cheap !!😡
Finally, sanskar's presence of mind and swara's confidence saved them...😊

Ya they are many,he is only one with a delicate princess to save..but he will do it...because he can,he is one man army type of warrior...A after the war, sanskar will heal her, because it is really a biggest trauma for her.
Waiting for next update...

Unres...

Hi Shruti🤗 ...
I thought last chapter was intense but you outdid yourself with this one👏 . This Chapter was so good. So as expected no one was fooled by Swara plan.. While I loved how Sanskar saw through it , i just hate that the Devendra didnt fall for it either..

Wow Devendra is such an disgusting character, i already thought i hate him the most but after this chapter i am wishing for all sorts of painful death for him🤢.. Poor Swara i really felt very bad for her.. She was a princess lived with dignity all her life and the way he was treating her made me furious😭.. But i loved Sanskar righteous anger. The way he kept lashing out at him for all his evil intentions was so good.

I really hated to see Swara and Sanskar so helpless but when Swara slashed him with Dagger, oh how i wish she hit the eye too and not missed it😆 , that guy doesnt deserve an eye or deserve to live for that matter. Swara to the rescue⭐️ . Wow i loved it that she was the one broke his ropes and now it is his turn to save her back..

I loved the forehead kiss not because it was romantic , i know this is not the setting for it, Because it was an act of calming her down and reassuring her that he is with her and will protect her now. So the odd are agaisnt them but i know they will make it or atleast i hope they do😊 ...

Awesome update Shruti👍🏼... Reading it in the early morning was such an treat❤️ ... Eagerly waiting for the next chapter.

It was really scary but when swara got that knife n hit him I got happy and relieved actually I had guessed smthing like this is coming BT didn't expect so soon this leach evil n all other abuse deserving devendra is gonna be so dead 😡😡 he will have to bear so much torture that he himself is going to beg for death 😡😛
😛Sanskar have swara with him now and sword too the way he is angry this devendra and all his men is gonna be dead and I will dance and blow whistle when he will die whenever he dies BT even in this horryfiying chapter Pawan not being the traitor made me happy 😛 bagri was not on my list because it was mentioned that the person is sanskars friend BT he was the person who had tortured sanskar it was mentioned in part 1 evn here too ap had told in prt 1 that Bagri hated sanskar whn he became sanskars friend i am cnfused 😕if I am not wrong he used to work for maheshwaris BT there was never any mention of him being sanskars friend in fact it was mentioned in part 1 how badly he was torturing sanskar him being sanskars friend once how is that possible when did it happen😲 was he sanskars friend before he got framed n captured😕 or by old friend devendra had actually meant old enemy like he had called sanskar his friend BT he actually meant old enemy the word friend was used as taunt

Update soon I can't wait too see that leach devendra dead😡 😡 I want both our swasan together to puncture sword on this devendra the number of enemy is high but I think if swara got a sword if she have weapon with her no one will be able to attack her she too can fight afterall she is our warrior princess I hope they will be able to escape soon
I had to take more than half hour to calm myself I can't even imagine how you must be feeling but hats off to you👏 not many writers can manage to write like this

Lovely people 🤗
I am so touched at the super quick Res's and the comments already in- you guys are seriously awesome!

I am so behind with replies, including on Thread 2- sorry all!!

I am absolutely drained just now- I had a truly bad day and writing this chapter since yesterday has taken it out of me. I will revert as soon as I can muster some energy but thanks for understanding the context of this dark chapter and for keeping on supporting me.

Lots of love and wishes,

Res- Chapter 17

Unres:

Shru,
What a chapter.! Devendra is truly a bas***d. I was hoping for some divine intervention the whole time I read this chapter. Damn, it wasn't Pawan! It was Bagri. Another a**hole! Your villains are amazing! What hell have SwaSan found themselves in.! Shruti, brilliantly written. Writing such scenes takes tremendous effort. You have truly outdone yourself here (again). The emotions you have brought in me as a reader of disgust, dread, hate, helplessness and hope as the chapter end should be a tell of how brilliant this chapter is written and how well your plot/storyline is moving forward.

SwaSan trying to distract Devendra from the other towards themselves. Devendra didn't buy Swara's act but took great pleasure in it anyways. *shudder* You know I absolutely love that this world has alcohol just for the fact that villains in stories end up just like Devendra did when they imbibe it. He didn't have his wits about. And Swara was able to give him what he deserves. I hope desperately that Sanskaar kills Devendra even though he is surrounded by soldiers.
Thank you so much for not ending this one as a cliffhanger before releasing Sanskaar. It was a balm over the turmulous chapter you have provided. Fabulous work Shruti.

Awaiting next chapters!

Unreserved:

Chapter 17:

Phew what a chapter!😳

Dev is such a twisted bas***d. An intelligent bas***d but still a bas***d😊

Like I told you earlier Swara here reminds me of Sansa Stark. She doesn't fit in the traditional definition of a strong character but she has a certain steel in her which comes to the fore in such situations. She falls in her own trap when she offers her "friendship" to Dev & though she immediately realizes how he has twisted her completely innocent words to serve his own dirty ends she cannot back out. With courage & determination she goes on. And even here Sanskaar & his safety are foremost in her mind. This girl really doesn't have a single selfish bone in her body. She is so brave to actually put herself up as bait in order to distract Dev. It wouldn't have achieved what she wanted (saving Sanskaar from Dev) but it did buy her time & in the end that is what proved crucial😳

I wish she hadn't missed his eye😊 Should have stabbed him right through it😊 but never mind! A kick in the right place & a scar right on his face which will last him his whole life & remind him of what happens when you touch Princess Swara Gadodia are more than enough at the moment

For the first time Swara had my attention to such an extent that I saw everything only from her perspective, even Sanskaar's desperation & grief at her suffering. But now after reaching the end of the chapter I can finally see things from his POV too. How hopeless he must have felt to not be able to save his love, and not just not save her but to see her being treated in such an insulting & gross manner. He who guarded her fiercely for these many days from everything & everyone has to watch her get molested by this monster

The next chapter is going to be a torment of a different kind I guess. Swara is working on adrenaline at the moment & hasnt had time to register what all she went through. When things around her calm down that girl is going to be so broken😭 and even Sanskaar for that matter because seeing her break down is going to increase his guilt by a thousand😭 I really hope they are able to heal each other's wounds, both physical & emotional, like they did last time.

Res 😊

Shru, Shru my dear sis 🤗 🤗 🤗

What a heart pounding, hair raising, electrifying chapter that was---I wanted to shut my eyes at the sheer pain, rage and fear dripping off each powerful para, but I was powerless to tear my eyes away either. I wanted to yell out at that vile Devendra, curse out even worse expletives that you could print Prince Sanskaar using...but I had to hold myself back. Give me chance, Oh give me a chance, to knee that low life in the groin, I would make sure he was incapable of ever messing with a lady ever again in his life! I am talking like complete dismemberment of his well...you get the picture. 🤢 😡 Man, I hate him with such a primal, atavistic rage, you have no idea Shru. If I made Lakshya get pepper sprayed, stabbed in the hand and face scalded with boiling milk, you can imagine what I want Sanskaar and Swara to do to Devendra.

Two parallels which leaped to mind with your marvelous portrayal of this despicable, reptilian creature. Of course, no connection or linkage to this fabulous plot, what I meant is the sheer vile nature of the villain. One: Assef from the Kite Runner (Khaled Hosseini)---psychotic and sadistic like Devendra is. I still get shudders down my spine when I recall how he holds Amir captive and literally starts molesting his nephew (Sohrab) in front of his eyes.

Second: the suave, honey toned drawl of the utterly villainous Colonel Hans Landa (Christoph Waltz) in Inglorious Basterds.

Hats off to you for creating such a riveting, deeply uncomfortable and hackle raising portrayal.

If this was a movie, Shru, I would have howling out along with Prince Sanskaar, raging at that sadist's attempts to inflict pain on both Swara and Sanskaar through his evil, lust tainted actions. He is really a piece of work, isn't he---delighting in inflicting pain, even more than satiating his crass and base lust. We get a horrifying snapshot into his past, his delight in torturing small animals and inflicting pain on people weaker than himself.

And the person he referred to---as I expected in Chap #16 😉-- was Bagri. A Rathore double agent all along, who was trying to break Prince Sanskaar to get the secret of the key.

What stood out for me in the chapter, was the sheer valor, the bravery, the sterling sense of honor shown by both Sanskaar and Swara. True Rajput valor on display! And each was willing to take on almost unendurable pain, in an attempt to stave off pain to the other, buy some more time for the other half of themselves!

Swara, despite knowing full well what dishonorable and craven things Devendra was hinting at, with his coarse talk of "getting acquainted" and "becoming friends", went along with this heinous game of predator and prey, in a courageous, spirited attempt to buy Sanskaar time, to have some hope of freeing him from his bonds.

And Sanskaar, impervious and stoic to the worst beatings to his face and gut, recoiled in fiery rage at Devendra's torment of Swara. What a powerful wave of fury must have emanated from him, that dandy of a man recoiled in fear even though Sanskaar was securely bound! That one gesture brought out the contrast between the two men so wonderfully---one, a true hero, a valiant warrior who would do anything to succor the love of his life, the one who has seeped into his very soul.

The other--a low life, a bully and a coward, who only dares strike rivals when they are bound and held immobile, and attempts to force himself on a lady. 🤢

That whole stretch of Devendra mauling Swara, raking nails down her neck and arm, and even biting her near her shoulder, was so very painful Shru. Must have been a consuming, exhausting scene to write, and well done for conveying the sheer terror, the sheer loathsomeness of that situation. What Swara must have gone through, what Sanskaar must have gone through, My God, I literally tremble when I picture that scene. Swara, guileless and innocent, though spirited and brave, having to endure this unbearable assault. And Sanskaar, who would have been willing to endure any torture stoically to his own person, finding his very soul being wrenched apart seeing his other half, his only love, being manhandled in such a vile manner.

I shed quite a few tears for both of them at that point, and I decided that if ever I get my knees and nails on Devendra---well, Sanskaar wouldn't need that sword, I would do the killing---with my bare hands, to boot...

It was tribute to not only the valor of our Golden couple, but their soul connect too, in a sense, that Swara keeps her eyes on Sanskaar, trying to draw some strength from him, some endurance to bear this unbearable anguish and fear---both for what is happening to her, and what she fears awaits him. And that wordless gesture from Sanskaar, gesturing frantically with his eyes and face---which Swara, as we would expect, immediately cottons on to.

I was about to scream out in joy and excitement when she grabs a dagger and slashes that foul carrion eater's face! Why did you make her miss his eye, Shru? Why? Out of all the sterling, wonderfully written stretches in this chapter, I have this one minor quibble, which you will excuse me for, being my pal. 🤗 You should have made that slash of the dagger blind him, Shru... 😉

And then she snatched up that sword from that table and frees Sanskaar's bonds! Yippeee!! That was another scene which had me almost whistling and clapping aloud.

Those last sentences---about Sanskaar stalking towards Devendra menacingly, with a panther's gait, lips curled in a hawkish grin (almost wolfish, perhaps, in his steely resolve to punish him as his vile acts deserve?), but forestalled by the door being pushed open and an overwhelming force of Devendra's soldiers pouring in.

And then comes that Rajput valor again---knowing full well that they are hopelessly outnumbered, Sanskaar defends his spirited Princess, feeling a purifying, energizing course of anger, defiance and vendetta coursing through him. He would rather die a hero's death, a martyr's death, holding his love in his arms, protecting her with his last breath, till they go down gloriously taking down as much of the enemy as possible with them.

I can't wait for #18 to see what happens next. Will Adarsh and Lakshya arrive on the scene in the nick of time? They still think Sanskaar and Swara are traitors...but now that missing 4th part of the map is there in Devendra's room, surely they should have some doubts? Even if they still feel Sanskaar is a traitor, the question begging to be asked is: what is Devendra doing with that part of the map? And that sword too? Though Sanskaar grasps it now, it was clearly not in his possession when he fled the palace. Would they now assume that Devendra and Sanskaar were in cahoots? But then Lakshya knows that there was no love lost between them right from the old days...

I STILL feel Adarsh is in league with Devendra! 😆 😉

I think I have gone on and on and on. 😊 Just to say, I loved this saga, this epic. You have created a superb world, borrowing character essences from the serial, but pulling them into a superbly constructed AU. Love it, Just Love it. And I Live it, gloriously, delightedly, every time I read your chapters.

Loads and Loads of Love and Jhappis

----Viji
