Finally the much anticipated chapter 18.

The fight scene was brilliant. I expected this reaction from him after seeing his love suffer so miserably in front of his eyes.

What an entry of Pawan👏, Wow. I knew you wouldn't leave Sanskar alone in there to face the mad hoard. Through Pawan you have shown how much Swara means to Sanskar, not that we didn't know it already, but drawing two lines to show the difference speaks much more here. He was told to be loyal, but here you showed that he is not just a loyal friend cum brother but also the level of understanding they have. He could understand his friend before the latter can put his thoughts into words. Love the way this relation is treated.

Devendra, I hoped he would die here, but like he said today is not the day. I so wanted to him crushed in front of Swara suffering a really painful slow death, something which will make him curse the day he was born. Boy wouldn't that been a treat, I'm sure you have much more planned for him than I could imagine. I just have to wait for few more chapters to get this, I know and I'll try being patient not that it's my strongest suit.😊

Swara poor thing I felt terrible for her. Chapter 17 was supposed to be the worst but I guess we are yet to face chapter 19 to see how all these events have taken a toll on her. Even when she feels her strength draining away from her she tries to pull herself together to see that Sanskar is safe. Love has found its way to her(it did happen before when he was fatally wounded) . When she felt that her whole life would be meaningless if she lost him(its not right for us to expect her to understand those feelings at the current situation), this might help her to review their relationship at some later point. The only thought which gave her the strength she needed was to see him through. The safety she felt in his hug and the panic that arose when he put her down to cover her could explain what she is feeling. God I really don't know how I'm going to handle the next chapter even though I will get an extremely caring and protective Sanskar.

"Sanskar" just one word and it stopped him from his pursuit for Devendra. It told him that all she needed was him with her and that she doesn't have the strength any more. His whole priority has changed for good. His lifeline is now her and she will be protected with his life. Like he told Devendra, Swara is his. And now he will face the wrath of abusing, manhandling and torturing what Sanskar holds so dear to his heart. Devendra will now suffer not just for what he did in the past but also what he did now, that is something I'm eagerly waiting for. The way he draped her in a cloak . He did set aside all his demons to be able to tend to her as she did. I loved the way they rode back to safety kissing her forehead letting her know that he is by her now and nothing will harm her ever, Offering safety and peace.

Shekar though I could understand his point here. I simply hate that guy. Don't knw why but i never warmed up to this character. It just escalated when he decided to declare that Ragini will his only child. I mean seriously the evil one who is the main cause of everyones pain is being rewarded here. I'm seriously happy that though she won her battle, or she thinks, its seems meaningless to her now. And she is guilty for having done something like this.

There is also something else I would like to add here, which are the two most extraordinary women in this whole story - Annapoorna and Janki. Wow these ladies make me feel proud to call myself a woman. The power with which they handle each situation is just awesome.

So Sorry for posting such a long comment. There are still so many things I would love to add but can't really express it at this point. Oh and thank you so much for not telling me that Pawan would be introduced here though I had a feeling.😳

Chapter 18 was so Good Shruti👏, the actions scene were awesome⭐️. I loved how Sanskar fought to protect his love and as you said a caged beast in him is unleashed after the last few hours of seeing his love suffer and i expected Sanskar anger and fury to take over this time and it did.

Pawan makes an entry and i am delighted😃... I knew an army that large will be much stronger for Sanskar to take on alone so i am glad his help arrived in nick of time. Devandra escaped, i knew he would after you told me in the last update about how you want him to live with a scar on his face.so i knew he is making out alive this chapter but i also know he will have to meet sanskar again and i wait for that day.

He wanted to go after devendra but one call from her literally changed his decision.I loved how even Pawan realised is Priority changed, especially the way he searched for a cloak and covered her gently before riding of to safety since he knows she is in shock and he need to look after her before everything else❤️.

I liked part 2 too..Ragini facing the guilt for what she did always make me happy.Awesome update shruti... Cant wait to read the next chapter . As i so want to see Sanskar taking care of Swara just like how we got swara taking care of sanskar..😊

Chapter 18

Hurrrayyy for all the blood...*wait does that make me seem disturbed and weird ? :D*...I love Sanskaar in his full beast mode ! All though this is Sanskaar pretty much does not hold the same gravitas as THIS IS SPARTAA ...that's pretty much what the emotion I've channeled into my reading of S in this chapter...

I really liked how he made sure they were safe, and used the confusion of the soldiers and troops best to his advantage ! Yes, he was not the clinical warrior here...but hey...looks like Beast On is also working quite well for him...so full steam ahead...toot toot !! Even with the increase in the number of troops he seemed least concerned, and actually egging them on !! They seriously didn't know what hit them*

PAWAN...Pawan...Pawan...*in case you are wondering what that is, it's my cheer for him*...I know you love HP...and seriously everything about him is giving me a wonderful Sirius Black feel...loveee the description !

Side note : Aakhir Pawan aahi gaya...I can now stop channeling some rakhi from Karan Arjun 😆 *mera PKJ aayega*

Louveee the easy going banter between the besties !! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ In a battlefield of corpses when their humour runs high, I can't wait to see what it will be when away from all of this gore ! Me loves well done Bromance !! Pawan is exuding all the right cues...loyalty, friendship, brotherhood, perceptiveness...he really seems like a part of Sanskaar's being !

Swara 💔...the poor thing...In the beginning of the chapter I guess she's still dealing with the present and Sanskaar's chandika avatar...her mind and his mind are only dwelling on the well being of each other...sigh !! He's decimating an army alone because he wants her safe...and wants to make it all fine...and She's holding on because she doesn't want to crumble right now !! Can these two be more perfect !!

Her scream embodied all her fears and was an amplified reaction to the possibility of losing him :-( gut wrenching :-( Sanskaar's reaction to it is so amazing ! He lets it all go and is by her side, giving her the assurance that she needs...his priority only her... !! And you've put that across so well...whether it's how he acts in front of his team *hurray for merry men appearing as well*, or lets Devendra go much to Pawan's surprise...all Sanskaar is currently about...is Swara !!! Her safety and wellbeing his utmost concern !! *melt*... *him still giving precise commands to his team is something that only the best can do, and I love how you retain that facet of Sanskaar's character*

PKJ slaying Bagri...👏...pestilence is rid off in the best way possible :) and that brief communication he has with Swara is so well done...

So they are offf on their way...to the base...where the emotional unravelling will begin 😭...he's in control now because his goal is to get her there...holding on to the last vestiges of sanity !! ...but the two of them have a tough task up ahead !! as you said in your response...will be equally tough for you to write !! Wishing you luck !!

And even though Devendra escaped...i will wait for his horrendous death and toot the horns then !! btw..he turned otuu to be such a paplu...one facial gash and he's incapacitated...tsk...anyway his vile brain still lives...so i'm sure he'll plan something horrible to avenge his disgrace...eeewww !!

Part 2

Love how Janki is so regal as always...and Shekhar...uff !! I mean i get his heartache, but so quick to give up on his daughter ??!! Disappointing !!! But the best part of it was the turmoil it's caused Ragini again...will be interesting to watch if she ditches that as quickly like she did the last time...or if it causes her more sleepless nights :)

Whatayyy update Shruuu...full package entertainer ;)...and Sanskaar is back with map...horse *yahooo Veer*...weapons...and girl !!! Cannot wait enough for 19...and the coming weekend will be better for it !!

My friend Shruti...

First of all sorry for my late reply.

The update was really nice.

The first part of the update was a action film for me. Sanskar was just awesome. He was a real warrior.

He was fighting with the soldiers with a spirit.

He was in a fighting mode.

He was killing them and he was bathed in their blood.

Swara was already shattered and she was seeing the condition unbelievably.

And I must say you beautifully wrote it. It was just awesome, I have no words to describe the sequence.

The entry of pawn was unexpected.

While reading the update I just hope that the character of Devendra will be end in this update. But he escaped from sanskar's hand. But I am sure his death will be painful.

Sanskar wanted to trace him and he ordered to pawn that take care of swara.

But swara just called his name and the sword from his hand dropped there. He just ran to her. Consoled her. He knew about the situation and tried to calm her.

While reading the sequence the thoughts of pawn was same as the reader. After that scene we saw a another sanskar, who only wanted to protect her from all the evils. He just forgot about his aim. He just wanted to calm her.

Like pawn I was Also surprised by sanskar's doings. But I felt a strange happiness. They complete each other. They know to treat the wounds of other.

In the part two the shekhar's angry was visible in his dialogues. Sharmista as a mother tried to protect her daughter and janaki also tried to handle the situation.

Ragini was there and she was not happy with the victory. Because she snatched the happiness of her sister and tried to kill her. She is selfish.

Now in this update sanskar got the two parts of the map.

What will happen next?...

What a heart pounding, hair raising, electrifying chapter that was---I wanted to shut my eyes at the sheer pain, rage and fear dripping off each powerful para, but I was powerless to tear my eyes away either. I wanted to yell out at that vile Devendra, curse out even worse expletives that you could print Prince Sanskaar using...but I had to hold myself back. Give me chance, Oh give me a chance, to knee that low life in the groin, I would make sure he was incapable of ever messing with a lady ever again in his life! I am talking like complete dismemberment of his well...you get the picture. 🤢 😡 Man, I hate him with such a primal, atavistic rage, you have no idea Shru. If I made Lakshya get pepper sprayed, stabbed in the hand and face scalded with boiling milk, you can imagine what I want Sanskaar and Swara to do to Devendra.

Two parallels which leaped to mind with your marvelous portrayal of this despicable, reptilian creature. Of course, no connection or linkage to this fabulous plot, what I meant is the sheer vile nature of the villain. One: Assef from the Kite Runner (Khaled Hosseini)---psychotic and sadistic like Devendra is. I still get shudders down my spine when I recall how he holds Amir captive and literally starts molesting his nephew (Sohrab) in front of his eyes.

Second: the suave, honey toned drawl of the utterly villainous Colonel Hans Landa (Christoph Waltz) in Inglorious Basterds.

Hats off to you for creating such a riveting, deeply uncomfortable and hackle raising portrayal.

If this was a movie, Shru, I would have howling out along with Prince Sanskaar, raging at that sadist's attempts to inflict pain on both Swara and Sanskaar through his evil, lust tainted actions. He is really a piece of work, isn't he---delighting in inflicting pain, even more than satiating his crass and base lust. We get a horrifying snapshot into his past, his delight in torturing small animals and inflicting pain on people weaker than himself.

And the person he referred to---as I expected in Chap #16 😉-- was Bagri. A Rathore double agent all along, who was trying to break Prince Sanskaar to get the secret of the key.

What stood out for me in the chapter, was the sheer valor, the bravery, the sterling sense of honor shown by both Sanskaar and Swara. True Rajput valor on display! And each was willing to take on almost unendurable pain, in an attempt to stave off pain to the other, buy some more time for the other half of themselves!

Swara, despite knowing full well what dishonorable and craven things Devendra was hinting at, with his coarse talk of "getting acquainted" and "becoming friends", went along with this heinous game of predator and prey, in a courageous, spirited attempt to buy Sanskaar time, to have some hope of freeing him from his bonds.

And Sanskaar, impervious and stoic to the worst beatings to his face and gut, recoiled in fiery rage at Devendra's torment of Swara. What a powerful wave of fury must have emanated from him, that dandy of a man recoiled in fear even though Sanskaar was securely bound! That one gesture brought out the contrast between the two men so wonderfully---one, a true hero, a valiant warrior who would do anything to succor the love of his life, the one who has seeped into his very soul.

The other--a low life, a bully and a coward, who only dares strike rivals when they are bound and held immobile, and attempts to force himself on a lady. 🤢

That whole stretch of Devendra mauling Swara, raking nails down her neck and arm, and even biting her near her shoulder, was so very painful Shru. Must have been a consuming, exhausting scene to write, and well done for conveying the sheer terror, the sheer loathsomeness of that situation. What Swara must have gone through, what Sanskaar must have gone through, My God, I literally tremble when I picture that scene. Swara, guileless and innocent, though spirited and brave, having to endure this unbearable assault. And Sanskaar, who would have been willing to endure any torture stoically to his own person, finding his very soul being wrenched apart seeing his other half, his only love, being manhandled in such a vile manner.

I shed quite a few tears for both of them at that point, and I decided that if ever I get my knees and nails on Devendra---well, Sanskaar wouldn't need that sword, I would do the killing---with my bare hands, to boot...

It was tribute to not only the valor of our Golden couple, but their soul connect too, in a sense, that Swara keeps her eyes on Sanskaar, trying to draw some strength from him, some endurance to bear this unbearable anguish and fear---both for what is happening to her, and what she fears awaits him. And that wordless gesture from Sanskaar, gesturing frantically with his eyes and face---which Swara, as we would expect, immediately cottons on to.

I was about to scream out in joy and excitement when she grabs a dagger and slashes that foul carrion eater's face! Why did you make her miss his eye, Shru? Why? Out of all the sterling, wonderfully written stretches in this chapter, I have this one minor quibble, which you will excuse me for, being my pal. 🤗 You should have made that slash of the dagger blind him, Shru... 😉

And then she snatched up that sword from that table and frees Sanskaar's bonds! Yippeee!! That was another scene which had me almost whistling and clapping aloud.

Those last sentences---about Sanskaar stalking towards Devendra menacingly, with a panther's gait, lips curled in a hawkish grin (almost wolfish, perhaps, in his steely resolve to punish him as his vile acts deserve?), but forestalled by the door being pushed open and an overwhelming force of Devendra's soldiers pouring in.

And then comes that Rajput valor again---knowing full well that they are hopelessly outnumbered, Sanskaar defends his spirited Princess, feeling a purifying, energizing course of anger, defiance and vendetta coursing through him. He would rather die a hero's death, a martyr's death, holding his love in his arms, protecting her with his last breath, till they go down gloriously taking down as much of the enemy as possible with them.

I can't wait for #18 to see what happens next. Will Adarsh and Lakshya arrive on the scene in the nick of time? They still think Sanskaar and Swara are traitors...but now that missing 4th part of the map is there in Devendra's room, surely they should have some doubts? Even if they still feel Sanskaar is a traitor, the question begging to be asked is: what is Devendra doing with that part of the map? And that sword too? Though Sanskaar grasps it now, it was clearly not in his possession when he fled the palace. Would they now assume that Devendra and Sanskaar were in cahoots? But then Lakshya knows that there was no love lost between them right from the old days...

I STILL feel Adarsh is in league with Devendra! 😆 😉

I think I have gone on and on and on. 😊 Just to say, I loved this saga, this epic. You have created a superb world, borrowing character essences from the serial, but pulling them into a superbly constructed AU. Love it, Just Love it. And I Live it, gloriously, delightedly, every time I read your chapters.

Some people have the ability to bring light to you and in the dark week I've had you know you have done that; this comment is a part of that and an important one but it is much more and as I'm bound to the no thanks rule- 🤗 x 1000 instead.

I get so overcome when I read your views after each chapter and our exchange of scraps and PMs- it makes me feel very humbled that you love DK so much 😳😳.

Wow- you really do feel all the nuances of every emotion I wanted to bring out- such an incredible feeling to read that sis. There are no words bad enough for men like Devendra. Despite the seriousness of the situation, I started giggling at the injuries you would inflict on Devendra- I can see you launch at him like you describe and him cowering in fear or well, dead, after the Lorena Bobbitt part 🤣. Oh God- how much damage we used to plan for Lakshya no?! And those FFs we wrote with various injuries inflicted! I miss Medha 😭

And the next bit of your comment had me seriously dancing (strange given the context but it will make sense to you!). Lans Landa is one of the most powerful characters depicted in cinematic history I fell and Christophe Waltz one of my all time favourite actors! And of course Kite Runner- an incredible book and Assef- the name makes chills run down my spine!! 🤢 So to think Devendra can draw ANY parallel to those is such a HUGE massive compliment for me- I am speechless!! I genuinely see Devendra as psychopathic- they generally start by inflicting pain on animals after all 🤢. Almost like the villain in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo too- enjoys torturing women but on the face of it is suave and charming- actually more a sociopath than psychopath. And yes indeed, you were right about Bagri- your instincts are seldom wrong after all *modified Remus style* 😃

I wanted to depict how this couple were so different and yet so alike even in their incredible courage and bravery and utter selflessness whereby each is so focussed on the other and only intent to guarding them, taking so much on themselves- sacrifice of a true kind without being mushy. And yes definitely there was the contrast element by highlighting that against the sort of villain Devendra is.

Writing that scene with Devendra was truly mentally exhausting. I was so tired but still barely slept. In fact this whole current series of chapters is so consuming but draining, I am really running on just an obsessive desire to tell this story. I see a crash coming after it is all done (although I know there's a while to go!). There were tears and a lot of trauma and to read that readers felt the same in some way is heartening, not in a sadistic way!

And no- I deliberately didn't want him blinded 😛. I wanted him maimed and to live with a scar on his vain face but to blind him firstly would have immediately incapacitated him for the next chapter (what to do- I can't abandon the practicalities even in drama 😆) and then the whole thing would be more or less consumed by him being blinded so I am afraid it was a very deliberate decision 😉.

So glad you liked the last bit- it was intended to bring out exactly what you described 😳.

You will read 18 so will have seen what happened 😉. Aha, you are still sticking with the Adarsh theory huh? 😉 Well, what can I say?! As I said before, nothing here is impossible!

Oh my what live can make a person do. Sanskaar is incredible, a lone man fighting off so many is simply astonishing.

Swara I feel for her, this incident will leave an indelible mark on her and it will take sometime for her to come out of it. Hopefully sanskaar is there to help her out of this misery.

And what the hell was Bagri doing there? That Moron, that wretch, who whipped my Sanskaar day and night!! Ugh... this was truly a phone todu chapter😡😡. When this shitty man, touched Swara's neck on the pretext of cleaning the alcohol and then yanked and bit her (writing it disgusts me. Hats off Shruti for writing this piece! It ain't easy...seriously I applaud you) I wanted to howl with rage, but in a city bus?? But I swear I jumped and then 2-3 literally started giggling at me. Ruddy kids!! Anyways, But this, I could have crucioed this man to death if given the chance!

Sanskaar! Aww..my poor Prince. How helpless he must be feeling when he is seeing Swara mistreated and almost molested in front of his own eyes and he can't do anything. The fact that this cheap man, laid his dirty hands on his lady love and he couldn't do anything! Oh my poor Sanskaar! But you don't worry Prince! She's only yours to lay hands upon.

The way she fought like a brave queen and then finally opened Sanskaar's ropes, it was as if somebody poured chilled ice water on my already burning hot heart! I was sure now, Sanskaar gonna payback for everything!! And that brutal animal touched his Swara! Sanskaar is NOT GONNA LEAVE HIM. Shru, please just for me, punish this brute so severely that he forgets to even think about touching a lady!!

When Sanskaar kissed her forehead, I seriously felt the warmth spreading inside me. (Not that to ignite the fire again course) It felt so beautiful and so full of concern just like in the show!! Oh God. SwaSan can even make a forehead kiss so intimate and beautiful<3

P.S.- Shruti, don't feel bad about the harsh words that I used. They were not for your piece of work but for that Devendra okayy. In fact, the fact that I hate him to this extent itself is a compliment for you okay?? And here hate is an understatement or cold modesty in the words of Julius Caesar. I seriously, tell you, writing such a piece is very tough and requires lotsa talent. So please don't take my harsh words personally. It was just for the character and standing ovation to you for writing this chapter!

Oh no honey- it's such a pain when stupid technology lets us down and you guys are so awesome- you still come back and comment!! I am so touched, what can I say? Love you guys!

Firstly, the whole story about being on the bus and your reactions and the expressions I could actually visualise along with fellow passengers' reactions and then those kids you mention later- I was in stitches 😆😆. But at the same time, to think this story inspires such strong reactions is beyond thrilling for me- Thank you!!!!

Swara is like that no? So selfless- it's almost unreal but also here, she is genuinely so clueless about vile creeps like Devendra she could never see the full extent of the threat. Oh she feared his physical attack but more on Sanskaar of course and despite feeling uncomfortable about his slimy ways, she could have never thought how depraved he was and she rushed headlong to that disaster 😭.

Oh I thought of all the curses we could trial with huge pleasure on Devendra, deciding they still wouldn't be enough 🤢🤢🤢 But it made me seriously glad to read your threats and expressions of rage against him (not that it almost made you break your phone 😆 but the spirit of it). I did you an interim reply saying how I of course know the bad words are for the vile letch I concocted, so please never ever worry about that! As a writer- this is exactly the sort of reaction one hopes for! Good, bad or ugly, a writer's credit is built by the characters they describe and if they are like Devendra- the more violent the reaction, the more proof I have done my job!

I am so so pleased to read your take about the rest! That gave "thandak" to my heart like you got from Swara setting Sanskaar free 😳😳. As for the forehead kiss- I just see sooo much love between these two- it truly transcends the physical so am super pleased everyone seems to have loved that little but meaningful gesture by our sterling knight!

PS; Wouldn't it make a blockbuster poster for Dark Knight the last part where Prince Sanskaar with sword in one hand swara in other hand holding her close with his lips touching top of her head or the next part where he shields swara...I can totally imagine that ..pata poster nikla hero😊😆 sorry my dimmag went filmi ..but If darkknight was made into movie or daily soap I would promote with that montage😊
