Hi Nandini...🤗 🤗
Thanks a ton once again for this lovely comment. Really made my day. 🤗
Yup, I really do like the Greek epics. In fact, I am a major fan of mythological/ historical epics, my all time favorite of course being our own Mahabharata---I must have read different versions of that by different authors, a dozen times at least. 😊
As for the Greek epics, yeah I completely agree with your take on Zeus and Hera. 😆 He is always portrayed as such a philanderer, Hera is often shown in a negative light, as a jealous/ scheming wife who tried to harm the numerous lovers of Zeus. But if you consider her point of view, she was the long suffering wife, while her husband has no idea of fidelity and loyalty whatsoever! 😉
Yeah, that story of Apollo and Daphne really is tragic. How Eros shoots the leaden arrow into her heart, inciting hatred towards Apollo, while at the same time shooting the golden one into Apollo's heart, inciting love for her. Almost like one of those star crossed, cursed love kind of tragic tales.
Much more cheerful is the Perseus and Andromeda story---how he overcomes Medusa and rescues from from being sacrificed to the sea monster. Really a dramatic, colorful adventure and love story. 😉 And Hector and Andromarche of course is so intense, so tragic before he is slain in the Trojan war. BTW I always felt Hector was much better than Achilles. 😊 Wish their battle result could have been reversed!
Coming to Swara...I do feel she (and of course Sanskaar too), really embody that ideal of Meraki. They do give their all, pour all their heart and soul into the relationships which they hold dear, na? They care sincerely, with every fiber of their being, literally.
You're right there--Swara really invested so much of her Meraki in relationships like with Shekar, Ragini, Dadi and Dada (and even, to a limited extent, with Lakshya, though that was more of a crush/ infatuation); but these people were never capable of returning her affection in the same way.
I do agree that Shekar is completely worthless as a father and a husband. Even as a man, come to that. He is just too spineless and gutless. But I think Swara was so emotionally deprived of a father figure while growing up, she just has this burning desire to see her Mom and herself have Shekar in their lives. He is far from perfect, in fact I would say he is a sorry excuse for a father and a husband. But in Swara's eyes (and especially because Shomi herself seems to love him nevertheless), she would value him, cherish him, and want him in their lives.
In this Drabble series, I wanted to show that gradual deepening of the relationship between Swara and Sanskaar; the fact that steadily, they feel so much warmth and camaraderie in each others company. In a very real sense, they feel at home with each other, a complete sense of belonging.
In the beginning, it started off with Sanskaar wanting to stand by Swara, to atone for his mistakes, all the pain she underwent partly because of his actions. But then their companionship grows into a close friendship, and then matured further into something more---and they are both becoming gradually aware, of their heightened feelings for each other.
I couldn't resist putting in those classic Sanskaar dialogues from the show. They are so unforgettable, na?
Wanted to show that cute and tender moment between them--with Sanskaar giving her a chocolate, and them sharing a warm hug--before both feeling slightly awkward. 😉 Not in an unpleasant sense, of course, but more of a heightened awareness, in a pleasantly flustered kind of way. ☺️
Am so overjoyed that you liked this OS, my dear!
Lots of Love,
