BB19's Amaal Mallik's misogynistic 'Chudiyan peheno' statement called out by netizens: 'Gaaliyan do toh mard?'

Just one week into the controversial Bigg Boss 19, and conversations around the show are already heating up. From contestants boasting about their status outside the house to seemingly petty food fights escalating into serious issues, it is clear that some housemates are forgetting they are being watched 24/7. One such contestant is Amaal Malik, whose recent argument with co-contestant Abhishek Bajaj is already making headlines.

In the episode that aired last night (Sunday, 31st August), Amaal and Abhishek were seen getting into an argument after Amaal stopped Abhishek from eating food on the sofa or bed placed outside the living room. While Abhishek insisted on sitting there, Amaal tried to stop him, saying that he sleeps in that spot. The disagreement escalated to a point where Abhishek tried to forcibly sit on the sofa. In response, an irritated Amaal ended up abusing him. What started as a minor conflict soon turned into a full-blown war of words, with Amaal hurling expletives that were later beeped out.

A visibly hurt Abhishek later spoke about the incident with fellow contestant Zeishan Qadri. Zeishan and Baseer were then seen confronting Amaal, who, still agitated, responded by justifying his actions. During the conversation, Amaal said that he did not even question Baseer for eliminating him from the captaincy task and that if people had to keep asking him why he did something, they should wear bangles and sarees.

His exact words were: Us din isne mereko eliminate kiya maine isko ek bhi baar pucha ke kyun kia? Baar baar 100 bar puchna hai ke kyun kar rahe ho toh ghar jao, chudi peheno, saree bhi odh lo, bindi bhi laga lo.

These words from Amaal have been widely called out by netizens, who were quick to point out the underlying misogyny in his statement. Many highlighted how casually he, a public figure with "millions" of followers, equated items like saree, bindi, and chudi with weakness, reinforcing age-old stereotypes and using womanhood as an insult.

Sharing a clip from the episode, one user on X wrote: I'll never understand why some men resort to insults like suggesting others would be better off as women when they don't fit their idea of an alpha male. Kisi ne 2 baatein pouch li tu wo larki ho gaya? Aur galiyan dedo tu tum bohat bare mard.

Another user added: Chudi pehen ke this statement irritates the fk Outta me, mtlb all these things r signs of weakness? Bade aaye inhe do Zara delivery ka pain, ehsaas karao inse.

One user even called him a misogynist, saying: We call them #Misogynist. I don't know how his GF told yes to him.

Recently, Amaal Malik stirred another controversy inside the Bigg Boss 19 house by claiming that influencers Awez Darbar and Nagma Mirajkar treat him with respect only because they are paid around Rs 20 lakh to promote his music. The remark did not sit well with their families. Nagma’s brother, Mohammed Ali Mirajkar, publicly dismissed the claim, stating that their work is professional and not rooted in favours or personal bias. Awez’s sister also spoke out, questioning the mindset that assumes respect must come with a price tag. As the comment continues to draw backlash online, it adds yet another layer to the growing criticism around Amaal’s conduct on the show.
