Sorry yaar, owing huge amount of pending work, I got delayed with my comment.

But I really wanted to say this: I completely loved the intensity of the SwaSan confession. The depth of their feelings for each other, the fact that they truly love each other and can feel complete only with their soulmate by their side---that came through so well.

The back story of how and why Sanskaar assented to the engagement with Manjusha, was also well described. He was least interested in the alliance, in fact he considered her almost like a younger sister, similar to Ragini! 😆 But Majusha's father seems to have been very keen on the alliance. Is that story of Sanskaar's father wanting this match true? Or has it been concocted by Manjusha's Dad? But Annapurna also seems to believe that story...wonder if she knew about it first hand, or she herself got to hear it only from Majusha's family. Perhaps she also feels that this being her late husband's supposed wish, she ought to fulfill it?

But whatever it might be---hope Sanskaar convinces them very firmly, that he loves Swara and only Swara. 😳

Waiting for an update on both this FF as well as Zinda Rehti Hai...

PART 8

The kiss lasted for a few minutes and they stopped it when they realized that they couldn't breathe any more. Sanskaar withdrew his lips from hers and he bent his forehead and touched it on to her forehead as they took deep breaths with eyes closed. He was holding her shoulders and her hands were at the sides of his waist.

Suddenly they heard Annapurna's loud voice calling him from the bottom of the stairs.

An: Sanskaar..!! It's time to go.

Feeling alarmed, Sanskaar and Swara opened their eyes and looked at each other. Swara slowly moved away from him and looked at him with helpless eyes. Sanskaar gave her an assuring look and caressed her cheek with his palm.

Sa: Don't worry.. I will handle this..

He walked down the stairs and approached Annapurna who was standing at the bottom stair.

Sa: Amma..I have to talk to you.

Just then some ladies in his family came towards them.

One Lady: Annapurna..Come on.. It's almost time for the Shubha Muhurtam. We all have to start from here soon.

Annapurna nodded at them and turned to Sanskaar.
An: Sanskaar, come soon..

And then she turned and walked with the ladies. Feeling helpless, he called out to his Amma.

Sa: But Ammaaa...(throws up his hands in exasperation) Great! She has gone... !! Damn this stupid Engagement..!!

Cursing the circumstances, he looked upwards and saw that Swara was standing at the top of the stairs.

Feeling determined to cancel off this engagement in some way, he took out his mobile and dialed Manjusha's number. Impatiently, he waited for her to pick up. But no one attended the call.

Sa: Goddd..!!! Pick up the phone, Manju... pick up the phone..!!

He tried 2- -3 times but still no one picked up the call.

Feeling frustrated and angry, he was about to throw the phone away. But suddenly one pair of hands restrained him from doing so. He looked up and saw that the hands belonged to Ragini.

Ra: (angrily)What are you trying to do, Ettaaa.. ? (Ettan means elder brother, and Ettaa is the way of calling )

Swara moved backwards so that Ragini couldn't view her from downstairs. Still, she could hear what they were talking.

Sanskaar remained silent but couldn't hide his frustration from his sister. Ragini grabbed his shoulder and shook him hard.

Ra: Ettaaa... What is your problem.. ? Why were you trying to throw your mobile on to the floor.. ?!

Sa: (looking away) Manju is not picking up the phone.. !

Ra: (hesitates for a few seconds, then tells) Ettaa.. She is not at home, she eloped with her boy friend.

Sanskaar couldn't believe his ears. He gazed at Ragini, open mouthed. Swara, who was still upstairs, was shocked to hear this. Her fingers clung on to the staircase railing for support.

Sa: What..?!!

Ragini was afraid to face Sanskaar's reaction. So she turned away from him and replied.

Ra: She had telephoned me only minutes ago.
**************FLASH BACK***********
Ragini was in the store room and she was looking for something. Just then her mobile phone rang and she saw Manju's number flashing on the screen. Ragini picked up the call.

Ra:(smiling)Hello, Manju.
Ma: (feeling tensed) Ragini..

Ra: (feeling concerned) Are you ok.. ?
Ma: I am so sorry Ragini for telling you all this now..I am not ready for this engagement.. I love someone else.

Ra: (shocked) WHAT.. ?!! What are you saying, Manjuuu. ?!!

Ma: Yes, I love Farhad.. Sanskaar's friend. He was in Mumbai.. Remember, Sanskaar went to the Airport to pick him up two weeks before. Since he is a Muslim, my Achan (father) was not allowing me to marry him.

{{Do you all remember, the day when Sanskaar met Swara at the airport, when she was coming from Mumbai, he had gone to the airport with his friend Nandu to pick up Farhad, who was coming from Mumbai. }}

Ra: Great.. !! (shouts)Then why did you agree for this engagement, damn it..!!

Ma: Please listen, Ragini..My Achan came to know about our relationship only one month ago. He told me that he wanted me to marry Sanskaar, because it was Durgaprasad Uncle's wish. When I asked Farhad what I should do, he told me to wait for some more time, so that he will come here and take me to Mumbai. Farhad asked me to say "YES" for this marriage with Sanskaar, so that my Achan will not have any clue about our plan. I wanted to talk to Sanskaar about all this. That is why, I came to your home last week. But I couldn't muster the courage to do so. Please ask him to forgive me, if he could.. Right now we both are on our way to Airport.

Ra: (sarcastically)Good for you, Manju. All the best for your new life with your boy friend...!!

Ma: Ragini.. Please try and understand me..I am really sorry...!
Ra: Ok. Take care, Manju.

Ragini disconnected the call and clutched her forehead, in alarm.

Ra: God... !! I have to talk to my Ettan (brother) immediately.

Ragini finished telling the whole story and turned to face him. She was surprised to see him smiling with relief. Meanwhile, Swara was thanking the Almighty for helping them out from this situation.

Ra: Ettaaa.. Are you alright. ? Are you in some shock.. ?!

Sanskaar smiled widely and suddenly hugged his sister.
Sa: Oh I am sooo happy, Raginiii... !!

Ragini didn't have a clue of what was going on in Sanskaar's mind.

Ra: Can you please tell me why you are not sad after hearing this?

Sanskaar pulled off from the hug and pulled her cheeks affectionately.

Sa: I was not at all comfortable with this alliance. I mean Manjusha is like my younger sister. I told "Yes" for this proposal, only because Amma and Doctor Uncle had told me that it was our Achan's wish.

Ragini felt really relieved and she hugged her brother again.

Ra: Oh God. !! I was so scared. (smiles and pulls off the hug) Now let me tell Amma and the others about this. I don't know what is going to be Amma's reaction. You also come with me, please. I can't handle this alone.

Sa: (grins widely) Sure. I will come in a minute, You carry on.

Once Ragini was out of view, Sanskaar looked upstairs grinning widely.
Sa: Swaraa.. Come down.

Swara came into his view and she ran downstairs happily. She hugged him abruptly and was laughing and crying at the same time. Sanskaar was still smiling widely as he caressed her soft hair.

Sanskaar somehow managed to take care of Annapurna's plight when she knew about the news about Manju eloping with her boyfriend. Sanskaar had called and consoled Sreedharan Uncle (Manjusha's father) also. He asked all of them to pray for her well being than to mourn over the cancellation of their engagement.
But Sanskaar and Swara had decided not to reveal about their newly blossomed relationship. They had planned that they would tell everyone when the right moment came.

That night, Sharmishta decided to stay with Annapurna in her room as she knew that Annapurna was sad and depressed after the engagement fiasco.

Swara was lying alone on the bed in the guest room of Sanskaar's house and she was smiling to herself. Sanskaar and Swara had maintained a safe distance the whole day as they didn't want anyone to suspect about their love affair. She was missing him terribly by now. His touch, his kiss, his smell, his handsome form, and his husky voice - - everything were still lingering around in her senses. She badly wanted to feel them for real again.

Something hit on the top of her head and she looked up to see. It was a small paper ball which had came through the open window. Feeling curious, she opened the paper and saw that it was a message for her.

"Meet me at the pond area.

I have opened the back door for you.
Close it cautiously and lock it from outside, when you get out"

Her eyes widened as she read the message and she smiled widely. She jumped out of the bed in excitement and ran to check her appearance in the mirror. She was now wearing a simple blue color salwar suit. She adjusted her hair and her bindi. She noticed that she was blushing profusely. Giggling softly, she stepped out of her room and walked along the empty corridor towards the back door. The back door was indeed open and she cautiously locked it after stepping out into the back yard.

She peeped in through the doorway which led to the private pond area. But she was surprised to find it empty. Frowning, she crossed the threshold of the doorway which led to the steps. Swara was pulled into a bone crushing hug and she was encircled by a strong pair of arms.

Sw: (gasps) Sanskaar.. !!

She raised her face and saw his handsome face in the moonlight.

Sa: Oh my princess.. I missed you...!!

She blushed and stared into his attractive eyes. She was soon lost inside their depths. She could feel him moving his lips towards hers and she slowly closed her eyes and parted her lips in anticipation. Sanskaar smiled at her vulnerability and stopped himself for a moment to survey her innocent face -- Her eyelids, her reddened cheeks, her cute nose and her rosy lips.

Slowly, he rubbed his nose onto her nose and she opened her eyes with a pleasant jolt. He was smiling naughtily at her and she felt him remove his arms around her body. She had expected a kiss, but his behavior surprised her and she felt a prick of despair. But she didn't know that he wanted to tease her a little bit.

He held her hand and walked down the steps towards the rippling water. Moonlight scattered on to the walls from the water surface. He was wearing a blue shirt and white mundu (dhoti). When they reached the bottom most steps he stopped and turned towards her. Indicating towards the step, which was two steps above the water surface, he said.

Sa: Sit down, Swara.

Swara did as he told and put her feet inside the water. She loved the soothing feeling and she looked at him with a smile. He too sat down near her, slowly lay with his back touching the stone step and placed his head in her lap. He looked up to gaze at her pretty face and saw that her eyes were glowing with love. She felt as if she was dreaming. With one hand she held his cheek and with the other hand she brushed along his hair at the top of his head.

Sa: (husky tone)Swaraaa. I have always dreamt this..

Swara was listening to him curiously and he was more than happy for the attention he was getting.

Sa: (continues after a short pause) ... To rest my head on the lap of my beloved like this at the banks of this pond. .

Swara bent her head and slowly kissed his forehead. Suddenly, he raised his chin and she felt his hand around her neck, pushing her face a little downwards. She felt her lips inside his lips and he was sucking in softly. Her fingers grabbed tufts of his hair, and kissed back with equal amount of passion.

Unable to contain his desire anymore, Sanskaar rose from her lap in a sudden movement, without breaking the kiss. He was feeling ravenous and pushed her backwards to lie down on the steps. Cupping her face with his palms, he kissed all over her face without allowing her to breathe. Swara was overwhelmed with his passion and vigor and she clung on to him while her finger nails dug into his shoulders.

Sanskaar's hand sneaked behind her neck and bared her throat for him. He raised his index finger and traced the contours of her neck. He caressed the sides of her neck with his palm and he enjoyed the view of her squirming in his arms.

Sa: (softly)Swaraa. You are the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. And soon I will make you mine.

Swara opened her eyes and she looked at him in a dazed state.

Sw:(emotionally) Sanskaar.. I love you. I can't think about being away from you for even a minute. Promise me that you will never leave me..

Sa: I will always be with you Swara..I promise..

Sanskaar placed a soft peck on her lips and hugged her tightly.

Sa: I love you..

Sw: Sanskaar.. Let's go back to our rooms now. It's risky being here at this time.

Sanskaar smiled naughtily and answered.

Sa: I have a good mind to take you to my room right now..!!

Swara giggled softly and answered.

Sw: Not that I will protest.. But, we need to be careful Sanskaar. All this is not right before marriage. I don't know how I lost my moralistic side after meeting you. I have become so shameless..!

Sa:(laughs) Let's get married soon, Swara. Otherwise I am not sure how much I will be able to restrain myself. Ok now let's go to our rooms before someone notices us. First, you go inside. I will follow later.

He removed a stand of hair from her cheek and gave a soft kiss on her forehead before parting.

Swara woke up in the early hours of morning which was not quite usual for her. She loved to sleep late in the mornings. Getting down from the bed, she walked into the corridor and headed towards the kitchen. Annapurna was busy making tea, and Sharmishta was also there with her. She was surprised to see Swara walking inside.

Sha: Chinnu..you woke up early..(smiles) Good morning my dear.

Sw: (hugs her) Good morning Amma.. (snuggles closer). . Good morning Annapurna Aunty.

An: Good morning Chinnu..What happened..Are you not feeling sleepy at all..?

Sw: I don't know Aunty.. But I am not feeling sleepy today..!

An: Even I didn't sleep at all yesterday. I just can't get over the fact that Manju loved someone else..Poor Sanskaar..I should have listened to him before when he had said that he wasn't ready for this marriage..

Sharmishta knew that bringing up this topic again will do no good. So she kept her hand on Annapurna's shoulder.

Sha: Annapurna.. It's ok.. Just forget it..!

An: Hmm.. I don't know what he must be going through.. My poor son..!! (eyes become teary again)

Sw: Aunty... Can I go and give this tea to him...? I will see whether he is ok or not... Don't worry...

Annapurna nodded and handed her one cup of tea. Swara was dying to meet Sanskaar again. She just needed an excuse.

Dear Naina,

What a beautiful untwist to what we presumed what akin to a Gordian knot! I am quite happy that the issue got resolved without too much of drama. Ragini is relieved that Sanskaar is not worried about Manjusha's elopement, Sanskaar is actually elated. Only his mother seems to be worried - though it is about how he is taking it 😉

So it is like there are no real hurdles to their relationship, hopefully. They are know blissfully enjoying their love, though staying within societally imposed limits is getting a little difficult (it is nice to see a Swara who admits that it is difficult for her to resist him). She is indeed finding it tough to stay away from him and volunteers to take the tea for him (wonder whether is it going to be a case of ''tea or me' option being given to Sanskaar😉)
