Hey Tootiefrootie11 🤗:D<]"> (interesting UN by the way😆)
First of all, thank you so much to Divinedarkness for PMing your earlier story thread's link to me. If she had not, I would be missing such a well written and well researched Fic. Do you know how hard for us hungry readers to find one of them? Rare breed, I tell you😆 I read the 7 parts in an hour and last night found the 2nd thread. Thankfully, you updated the next part just as I was stalking thread to post this reply.
Let me start by saying two things - there are so many things I want to say about the story that I am afraid I will bore you, and secondly, Historial fiction/romance/drama is a genre I avoid as much as I avoid fantasy, post-apocalyptic Earth stories. I always thought how boring those times will be, no Internet and only gossiping 🤣 But i guess, I had not find good enough story to start with. I am glad to find yours to start with the genre.
I never really followed Swaragini from the start. The promo looked different, the real story after a while became cliched. How many times we have seen one bitchy sister ruining her sacrifical angelic sister's life? *Yawn*. For me, story spiced up after Sanskaar entered. Even then I watched in bits and pieces, till now I am confused which actors plays what and what are the relationships in the show😆 Your story thankfully loosely following the serial's storyline, so I am catching up, in a way.
Your writing is very unique. You put widely different adjectives in a single sentence and somehow they have the desired effect on the readers. The accurate descriptions create the exact scenes in our mind like you must be having while you were writing the story. The haveli, the expressions of characters, their internal monologues, the sinister silhouttes, the chilly, harsh weather of Rajputana, the escape and the journey, everything so well described like we are watching it on screen. A big accomplishment, I have to say, something every writers wants but few achieved👏. The amount of research you did for every tiny aspect, it shows when we are reading a single sentence or paragraph. It;s a grand task, dear, and I am so happy the outcome is magnificent and enthralling.
Fanfics are, for me, a way to connect deeply with characters on screen. Often I become obsessed with a show only after reading a few fics of it😆, weird, I know, but for me it's like if the writer is expressing so much through her words about a bunch of characters of a fictional show, how awesome the show actually will be? You managed to do it for me, especially for the characters like Sharmishtha, Janaki maa and Annapurna. I don't think in show they explored Janaki that much, the recent Maasi track doesn't count. Janaki somehow didn't succumb to the dark paths of jealousy and spitefulness and treated badly Sharmishta. Or maybe, there was nothing to fight for, Shekhar was never hers, so why bother? A nice contrast to her daughter, who should have looked up to her Mother more often. Sharmishtha, the other woman who only had her Husband and daughter, who finally managed to have an honorable position in the Royal family thanks to Janaki. But other woman will always be other woman, everyone respect her but with a glint of weariness in their eyes. None will forget her scandalous past or the product of affair, Swara, no matter how good they both are to others. Annapurna, the matron of Maheswari house. Fierece as Lioness, who single handedly managed to find her long lost lunatic traitor Son and brought him home, despite her husband's objection. And yet, she is helpless to the tantrums of Lakshya. The person who is source to our strenght is often our weakness, here, Lakshya is and always will be a weakness., never the opposite.
Both house have power and skeletons in their closets, a perfect match indeed. Annapurna sympathized with Janaki even before she arrived, just by hearing the rumours. What possesed a proud Rajputana woman like the latter to bring her Souten home? I wish you once explore this track, it;s rather fascinating. Both families Mothers literally exchanged their kids😆 Janaki smother Swara just like Shomi does to Ragini, while Annapurna is more a Mother to Sanskaar than Sujata ever will be. Annapurna is epitome of justice, while Lakshya is a master manipulator who backstabbed his own sibiling. No wonder Ragini's instinct to murder her sister became so ferocious here, the haveli smells like conspiracy and betrayal.
No matter how better Swara is, how enchanting, or artistaclly skilled, she will be always a lesser person to Ragini because she was not born into royality. It didn't even cross A's mind to think about Swara because she was fixated on Ragini, the true heir, even though the bubbly girl caught her attention. The feelings Swara evoked was endearment, but somehow A managed to suppress it and tried to feel irritated, a parallel to Daadi ma, who I feel was cross with Swara not because she was a brat, because she herself was becoming soft to the kid and it felt like a betrayal to her morals.
Ragini has everything, and yet she thinks Swara has it all. We truly have no idea what we have until we loose everything. She is first chosen for everything, people treat her with respect and sing praises for her grace and beauty, and yet she is jealous because her half sister manage to capture attention in way she can never. It only increased when Lakshya started noticing her sister more than his soon to be fiancee, and became full blown hatred when he broke it off. If only she had shook off her shyness. If only Lakshya had given her one more chance. How different things would have been? It must be her Mother's genetics, that she didn;t break down after Lakshya ended it, but unlike her Mother she started scheming the ways she can win him back, ironic considering she never had him in first place. She was so blind in hatred that she didn't notice her own sister was not happy with the sudden turn of events, she was so sure Swara was out to ruin her happiness
Swara, the sweet innocent soul, who managed to remain pure when circumstances were forcing her become bitter and dark. It is not hard to imagine the whispers she heard while growing up, then her migrating to Rajputana and harsh treatments from elders, still she and her mother tried to please everyone, loved everyone with their whole heart and poured them in the relationships. Ragini is an ideal sister, Janaki maa a second mother, and the rude Daadi maa is just a strict senior member of family. She has little regard to how to behave, not binding herself in rules and proper behavior codes, but it's not because she was trying to become rebel, it's who she is and what she believes in unimportant. Her free spirit is what captured the Maheswari Princes attention, which Ragini mistook as something improper.
Sanskaar, the fallen Hero. Once hailed as a leader, now a lunatic, a disgrace to family. The flashbacks to the event which destroyed him, his madness, the secret mission he has, you wrote it all beautifully. Like a moth to flame he is attracted to Swara, but disguised it as irritation because he could not avoid to be diverted from his mission. He was determined to stay away from her, which was futile once Ragini discovered he is pretending to be crazy. She protected his secret, he returned the favor by capturing all Swara's time and leaving Lakshya to sulk😆 poor Brother, he can't even shout at his mad sibiling. The world think him as a monster, deep down he also believes it, but he draws the line when Ragini attempt assassination of Swara. He realized there is a devil in the palace, with whom unfortunately he made a deal, and he had to pay now.
Swara was always so intrigued by Sanskaar, who is, to quote my favorite show Castle ''A mystery I never gonna solve." The mad prince who instantly disliked her, throwing tanturm at her and prefering his 'Dulhan Dost'. When her and Lakshya's relation was fixed, suddenly Sanskaar bestowed all attention to her and she was a captive. Not hard, I imagine, seeing his beautiful smile and excited eyes😳 She was so lost in him and she was unaware that the air of palace was changing, a dark spell was cooking somewhere. She put too much faith in Ragini to become a communicator between her and Lakshya, who took the advantage and created more MU. The attempt on her life came as a blow, but Sanskaar's true face and Ragini's cruel eyes only threatened to push her over the edge. How she is still standing and not falling apart? From where this inner strength is coming, when her family disowned her and she is out with a Man who is the reason of most of her problems?
And despite the facade Sanskaar put up in past, despite his warning in front of strangers disguised as a devoted lover's full attention, despite him taking her with him and possibly ruining the rest of her life, not unlike her Mother, she can't fully hate him. She tries to hurt him but he doesn't hurt her back, only disarm her. She hurls rightful accusations but he is not angry, instead sympathatic to her plight and promise her to bring home the first chance he gets. She is cross with him and he take it all silently, being a gentleman all the while and never crossing the line even as he is attracted to her. They call it a truce, because what other choice does they have instead of bickering and hurt each other all over again? Swara sees the other side of Sanskaar, who is not putting up a mask of Crazy, or even the fallen hero on whom many people are still counting. Just the person, Sanskaar, who adores his Veer, who laughs and teases her, helps her in daily work, sits with her and listen to her playing instrument, answers her questions with the patience of saint, share his childhood stories and pull her back when she is falling into unpleasant thoughts. Unknowingly to her, she is doing the very same. Her questions and antics stop him from falling into dark thoughts, her innocence and humility slowly pulling him to light. Also invoking some foreign emotions which he had buried long ago. Better luck next time for a Kiss, Sanskaar😉 she will be yours soon.
I got sidetracked, but it should be mentioned. The description of Moud, the old man and his DIL, the haveli that appeared out of nowhere, Swara exploring the mansion and finding the musical instruments, beautifully described. Make me ache to suddenly see this version of Swaragini on my screen ]">
Ragini, Ragini *shaking head* what she wants? And when she gets what she wants, what else she wants?😆 Swara was here, she needed to kill her. She is now disowned and far away, and she is having nightmare of her getting killed! Did not she want this? She is getting all attention now, getting to keep both Mothers, getting her love of life, going to marry him soon, even the guy admitted how wrong he was to reject her and so thankful he is that she accepted him. Then what, Ragini? Her thoughts make me feel if only she had thought about her family when she was consipiring against Swara. She made Swara look like she is having affair with Sanskaar, that she is characterless, even before the attempted murder. She never stopped to think how shattered her family would be, seeing one of their daughter killed. Now she is, but it's too late, Ragini. The cards are out of your hand now, you have to stand with others and witness as the next scene unfolds. She will get it all, the man she wanted, her family's and soon to be in-Law's respect, but at what cost? Even if her family never knows how far she went to destroy Swara, the guilt that is eating her inside, it's worth it. Recently in the show Ragini was lamenting how Swara gets everyone's love. Umm, maybe it has something to do with not being a bitch and try to kill your sister? Once Swara returns, can things go back the same way as they were? Can Swara forgive and forgets what she did to her? Can Sanskaar forget what devil she is? I hope not. She needs to realize how far she went, maybe even gets punished for it.
A question, so Lakshya is really over Swara?😆 Don't know why, but I feel he was attracted to Swara only because she was bubbly, spirited girl and so different than him or Ragini. There was really no deep feelings, maybe a hint of arrogance that he should get what he wants. When Swara started spending all time with Sanskaar, his ego was so hurt. I can't believe he could not have reached out to her if he wanted to, he was busy being so butt hurt thinking she is playing him When she was gone, he wasted to time to declare her a lost cause and get back with Ragini, again for the arrogance and weird need to control things at his own wish. Where is your heart, Lakshya? When can we see it? Are you really the traitor, because then your jodi with Ragini will be perfect example of Satan's match-making⭐️
Speaking of traitor, Ram Prasad is on my list. For the whole suspect-who-is-least-expected thing. I am fully prepare to be wrong about that as well😆
Once again, a brilliant piece of work👏 Looking forward to next update.
