But in meantime, Shru...🤗 🤗 🤗So much for dedicating this lovely piece to me amongst others. With your customary force and verve, and your sharp legal mind giving a logical sheen to the plot, it was such a pleasure to read.

More when I un res. 😊

Un-res

Absolutely enthralling, Shru. This update had everything--cool planning by Sanskaar (with help from Lakshya, though, given my deep seated dislike for him, I prefer to think of it as driven chiefly by Sanskaar); their checkmating of Ragini with some very spellbinding plotting, of laying an audit trail to prove fraud at her door. 😆 Loved that touch---Oh, the irony! 👏

We seriously have a soul sis connection going on, Sis. 🤗 🤗 I have delved a bit into Kaveri's past in my "Karna Parva" as well; but without giving away details---since I am still to update the last part---there are differences from your take which you laid out so spellbindingly here.

You made Kaveri's journey from the child Kaveri Roy, yearning for accceptance, legitimacy and a normal family---to the hardened, bitter and manipulative Kaveri Bai, so very enthralling. I particularly loved that line about how her tears had formed a wall around her heart, for her to prepare to attack and do battle from behind those fortifications. Nice imagery there, Shru.

And the climactic stretch---as Janice says in Friends 😉-- OH MY GOD!! So gut wrenchingly intense, I was literally gripping my palms tight, trying to calm my pounding heart. I always say, your updates come with a "Shru intense" brand mark, and you just proved it with this one. 👏

Again, I loved that line about how a dying person has their entire life flash before their eyes---and here, though the bullet had grazed Swara (thankfully only a flesh wound), it was Sanskaar who felt his death was nigh. This man's love...my God. So potent, so deep, so very...well...Sanskaar! SwaSan are seriously meant to be...Soulmates without a shadow of a doubt.

Shru, you know how I abhor the resurrected Kavita track, when I so wanted her to remain as just a pleasant, sweet memory of a past love in Sanskaar's mind. I therefore liked the perfunctory treatment you accorded her here---of course, sad that she had to die (please don't resurrect her in Rewarded, Shru, please---or else I just might have to come over to the UK to hold a belan over your head!! 😛), but still she is well and truly in Sanskaar's past. Just out of curiosity, in your conception of this OS series, did Kavita really love Sanskaar? Or was it more of an infatuation assiduously set aflame by her adoptive mother Kaveri? And did Sanskaar know of Kaveri's antecedents, at the time when he fell in love with Kavita (not that she was Durga Prasad's ex, but did he know that she was, to put it crudely, a kept woman, and a gangster's mistress?) Just wanted to flesh out the details in my mind, that's all.

Really enjoyed this, Shru. Looking forward to "Rewarded". Sanskaar and Swara badly need due reward, for undergoing so much pain and trauma. Can I make a special request on their behalf? 😊 Can you send them on honeymoon to Tora Bora? Or to Vienna? 😉

Viji xoxo to you!

Was so happy to see your reserved spot and already kind words and now to read the lovely detailed comment you've left had made the weekend for me! I'm so pleased you liked this so much! I must have done something right!

Oh I am so liking Lakshya final Viji! Can't believe myself but I think there is so much negative in the show as long as Lakshya wants to help SwaSan and in the recent epi he was so good in helping Sanskaar realise, I decided to leave him positive, having left it open in resolved as to whether he would stay positive or turn again. I have always been a sucker for bromance and finally we get a chance. And I wanted him to have something to do with Ragini's downfall as it irritates me in the show that she'll just get reformed without paying her dues.

Exactly about the soul connect! How freaky we were both weaving plots to explore the similar wider issues. I just wanted to think through why Kaveri would be motivated to do what she is doing and I can't swallow what we are seeing. Also it took me some time to find the way out of the logical dilema of why she would resurrect herself and her enmity at this exact point so invented the back story about a dead gangster she was with. Glad you like the line about the tears around the heart. I was trying to show her as a parallel to Annapurna, just a harder and embittered one and much more vindictive due to the harshness of her upbringing.

I deliberately specified the flesh wound Viji as I wasn't ready with part 4 and as we are already having so much angst in the show, I was too scared of floods of tears everywhere if I left it as a total cliffhanger! Sanskaar's love can scale the tallest mountain and plug the deepest ocean so yes, and for him, seeing Swara like that would be history repeating itself with his dead live in his arms, only this time it's a love her cannot recover from.

I am so done with the Kavita crap and it's only just started lol!! Oh god help us- it's so tacky and pathetic, and we will no doubt get no sense or logics thought process or characterisation with it either. I deliberately didn't resurrect her here, could not face it yet. The way I imagined it, Kavita was no gold digger, she wasn't aware of her adoptive parents nefarious plans. She was a somewhat simple girl and loved Sanskaar. The love was more of a college type of gentle and sweet one, not all consuming like the adult and matured Sanskaar has and now Swara has for him. It was also a relationship fuelled by opposition but any manipulation by Kaveri possibly did fan the fires more. If Kavita had to face the true challenges of love I cannot say her love for Sanskaar would have survived, in fact I am sure it wouldn't. But I wanted her to be a good memory not a tainted one for Sanskaar. And Sanskaar did know that she was an orphan with tutelage from a woman who had a less than sterling reputation but not the extent of Kaveri's sordid world. And oh please, no threat of belan needed. My part 4 has no place for Kavita to come back in that way. You will see when you read it:).

Part 4 might surprise people. It is simply a longer version of an epilogue almost but also ties up loose ends really. I wish I could show a honeymoon sequence but unfortunately it won't fit in its scope but let's see what we can do with Vienna or Bora Bora. I also have a honeymoon series in mind with Vienna as one stop as we have discussed previously and as you and others have requested so you will see SwaSan in Vienna one day soon:).

Love you for this! Mmmwaah

Hey Shruti,
I have read all three parts of the restitution series today at one go. I have no words. From part 1 to part 3 you have justified Sanskaar's actions in a more sensible way than what is shown in the show. Hats off there because truthfully this made more sense than the rubbish plot of Rashmi Sharma!

Part 1 - Resolved: My god Shruti! Your emotion portrayal of Swara in the first paragraph and then the emotional turmoil that Sanskaar is going through was so heart breaking! Seriously you have written it so beautifully! The suppressed rage taking flight, the hurt and agony for Swara, the need to control his emotions to curb Ragini! So so well written. And can I just say your last scene where Sanskaar all but follows Swara's car to make sure she has safely reached and ofcourse because his heart needs to see her was a master stroke! This part was ended so well, 'when hearts are resolute in unity to fight the odds to be together, nothing and no one can put them asunder'. So so beautiful!

Part 2 -Rectified: Finally Sanskaar takes Swara in the loop. The first part was heart wrenching. Swara's state was so so sad. Shomi is a mother who knows her daughter so well and knows what should be done with complete resolution. Loved the whole SwaSan scene, finally some spark in Swara where her anger also comes out at being so terribly treated. And the kiss! Before I forget, love you so much for making Lakshya so awesome! I really really like SanLak bromance! I am eagerly waiting for scenes where Lakshya and Sanskaar join hands to fight some negativity in the show. Thank you for that awesomeness.

Part 3 - Recompensed : The way you have portrayed Kaveri Roy was just wow! Splendid job! 👏 Absolutely stunning. So well written! Hats off. This part was an all out battle with action! The Sanskaar, Lakshya and DP joining hands, the way they took back their business and house, and the Adarsh Bhaiya twist! Such drama filled and action packed update! :D The whole pistol and Ragini finally losing all her marbles scene was just something unexpected. And the way you ended the part describing Ragini's body at the end of the stairs, I was like 'Ouch!' 😆 I have to say this is the first time I am reading a Ragini-going-mad-with-pistol scene! Not bad!

Desparately awaiting part 4 and am really sorry for not commenting earlier and for respective parts at the respective parts! Update soon and keep writing!

-V

P.S.: Can we have a little insight in Adarsh Bhaiya's mind in the next part? Would very much like that. :)

Hey V 🤗

So lovely to read this considered reply on the whole series so far! A huge thanks for that and you really didn't need to apologise in the end, I am so grateful for your comments on each part here! So happy to read you felt this version offered a justifiable alternative to the show plot.

Part 1 - I wrote that when I was sure the show was going to go the same way with Sanskaar pretending there too but as we know it didn't. However I am glad I stuck to that as that's the Sanskaar that makes sense to me. I wanted to give Swara more "voice" there so glad you felt all that emanate from your read of that chapter. The last bit was one of my fave parts to write for SwaSan so always feels nice to read positive feedback on it!

Part 2 - I kept thinking about how Swara would be feeling if she thought that Sanskaar had indeed forsaken her and it just flowed from there. The kiss wasn't originally planned but it seemed the only way out of their confrontation that didn't seem overdone and yet healed them both. I am really liking Shomi even in the show at the moment and I am unable to believe my own heart channge about Lakshya, who as you know, has fared very poorly in my other stories. But I think that my issue was Lakshya wanting Swara! As long as he's not on that train and actually wants to be a positive influence, I will take any ally for SwaSan as boy, do they need it! I have a serious weakness for bromances when properly done so am seizing the chance:).

Part 3 - I find negative characters fascinating but their psyche needs to be delved into rather than in show world style, just calling them evil or saints. I wanted to think through what could make someone like Kaveri a deadly enemy to the Maheshwaris and even in the show I can't believe they want us to swallow that all those hints about her and Durga Prasad were just about Kavita. The property drama never made sense to me and there's so many ways I myself could think of to set that right, I decided to explore at least one. Yes indeed! It was a very action oriented chapter and I'm glad it seems to have worked. The headache I got was trying to justify Ragini having a pistol and more so, how she brings it to the scene 😆. I wanted Ragini punished desperately and wanted to build some irony into the whole thing as well.

I think you might enjoy part 4 to see how it all finally panned out! Oooh re Adarsh! I was going to explain what happened there but sure I'll try to give some more insight into him! We never get anything there in the show right?!

Thanks so much for this and see you on that side of part 4! Lots of love xoxo

Okay, so i am finally caught up to all three parts now.

I loved the back story that you put there. It makes so much more sense than the one we have in the show. This actually justifies the anger and jealousy driving Kaveri to hurt DP and Maheshwari's rather than the current one we are seeing.

It made some much sense since DP does seem to love AP a lot now, that his dalliance with Kaveri would have been pre marriage and that his upbringing would have made it impossible for him to accept her. Adarsh being their child make some much sense in context of the timelines. I like how you have shown Sanskar was different. He has more courage to fight against all his conservative upbringing...thought fate had different plans for him (better ones). Her anger and him moving on, her should daughter too not getting a chance to leave the life they have been stuck in, feeling more hatred in her, beautifully put through.

I liked SanLak bonding in the laksh one, but i liked DP giving them charge here even better. they have really come across as a good pair here. turning the tables around completely not just in terms of Kaveri plot, but the property matter and most importantly the way they trapped ragini through their superior business understanding, which she clearly lacks. RGM doing all fraudulent businesses and SSM owing everything - marvellously done.

But corned animal hits back worse, cause they have nothing to lose, and that is what she did, hurt the one person she is completely jealous of for having what she never could. Swara got hurt...though i am glad it was only a flesh wound...of course that wouldnt register for Sanskar. All he saw was his love limp in his arms, bleeding. And Ragini too wasnt spared in the end...will she even make it? I doubt from the weird angle you have said she fell in. tragic life and tragic death.

Looking forward to the next part when you set all things even righter and bring the two love birds finally together - never to be separated.

beautifully worded and even better for someone like me, logically made so much sense 👏 👏

Hey Sapna,

Thank you for reading all 3 parts. Glad you liked the back story, things don't make sense to me with characters acting in the way they are often shown to on shows without understanding why they would behave as they do. I found the whole meeting between Dadi and Kaveri in the police station ridiculous. Why would she have been carrying the photo around with her for instance?!

I felt that there should be a past relationship from the way we were shown Kaveri's entry and Durga Prasad's reactions etc. And Adarsh made my plot flow better rather than either of SanLak which I know a lot of people expected. I had left it open that Kaveri's son could be Lakshya as I put in the line about her hurting all but him and his wife, and here it could have been misinterpreted that she left out Lakshya and Ragini but she didn't really.

Well, yeah, I am finding SanLak so much more palatable than swaragini and with Lakshya even on the show finally being sensible I am grudgingly parting with my dislike of him, although he will never be someone I really love or relate to. The mastermind is of course Sanskaar but it felt nice to give Lakshya a role that supported rather than obstructed Sanskaar for a change. And yes, the DP/ SanLak scene was sort of symbolic too- the balance of power is shifting there and in particular Sanskaar is taking over.

So glad you like the company machinations I invented. I just wanted to highlight the options of how easily Ragini could be outwitted by such acute businessmen.

Exactly, someone like Ragini can be dangerous not because of superior intelligence but due to her delusional hatred. The obvious was for Sanskaar to be hurt but due to the way the show track has gone I wanted a huge gesture too from Swara which shouts out how much she too loves Sanskaar as if Sanskaar did that, whilst it would be heartbreaking, I almost expect him to? Ragini had to be punished I feel. The very beginning of chapter 4 will make clear what happened:).

I have loose ends to certainly tie up in chapter 4. In fact working on it now and I have some ideas about the love birds 😉. Sapna- I am the same, if something isn't logical for me, I cannot relate and my mind rebels against it! I think it's a curse of being a lawyer and. Virgo to boot!!
Thank you so much for your appreciation, am really happy you liked the way I treated this.

Love S x
