IMPORTANT-Please Read

Many of you may be thinking why Swara is trying to keep Sanskaar away from her, even if she feels the love and attraction she has for him. And why Lakshya does not love Swara as he did in his previous birth. Well I have some explanations.

Here is their final wishes, at the time of their death, please read on carefully..especially the underlined portions.

Pratham - "Oh God..If I die, please make sure that I will be reborn on this earth, to unite with Zaara in my next birth..I want to marry her and make her heart and soul, mine forever.."

Zaara- "Oh God.., I don't know whether my Pratham has reincarnated somewhere in this earth..But if he has, please make sure that we are of the same religion and that I get married to only him, in my next birth, and please let us live happily ever after..I am fed up of this life without him.."

Rashid- "In our next birth, please please please make Zaara love me, Oh God. I want her to love me just as I love her now..I want to be her best childhood friend and her dearest lover as she grows up..She should wish to marry me..only me..!".

So, you should note that Pratham and Zaara had wished to get married only to each other and thus unite with each other in the next birth. But Rashid could only wish that Zaara should be his childhood friend, who will love him and then wish to marry only him, he forgot to pray that she should get married to him.

Actually Rashid's wish was getting in between Swasan love story till now, Swara's destiny is influenced by both Sanskaar's and Lakshya's destiny, and so Swara was confused all the time. And now since Rashid's all wishes are finally fulfilled, his soul's next duty is to unite Swasan. That is why Lakshya is trying to get them married. Hope you all are satisfied with my explanation..😊

PART 14

I know that you all are wondering/guessing what might have happened earlier. 😃Let me take you all back to the previous evening. Some of your guesses may be right, while there may also be some surprises too. Hope you enjoy the ride.😳

##############FLASHBACK###############
Previous evening,

After meeting with Annapurna and Sanskaar in the Gadodia's apartment, Lakshya had come straight to his room.

La: Oh god...Kal humari sagaai hain..But I am feeling extremely unsure about this wedding..(desperate tone) I just can't imagine her as my wife, damn it..!! Yeh shor, yeh saare mehmaan, iss sab se mera dum ghut rahan hain idhar..!! (looks around feeling restless) Teek hain, main thode der ke liye terrace pe jaake thoda sa hawa khaa leta hoon..Shayad acha feel karoonga..

Lakshya came up towards the terrace, and he was shocked when he saw the scene in front of his eyes. Ragini was standing on top of the parapet wall, as if she was going to attempt suicide.

Afraid that calling out her name aloud would startle her and make her fall off, he approached her cautiously. Grabbing around her waist, he pulled her down from the wall in a swift and calculated move.

Before Ragini could realize what was happening, a hard slap fell across her face.

La: (after slapping her, grabs her shoulders gruffly and shakes her body angrily) How dare you attempt something foolish as this, Ragini..!!

Ragini clutched her face with her palm, and stared at him in shock for a moment, unable to say or do anything else. Slowly tears filled inside her beautiful eyes and she cried out his name in a chocked voice.

Ra: Lakshya..?!
La: (demanding tone) Tum suicide karne ki koshish kyun kar rahi thi, Ragini..?!!(shouts out)WHY..?!!

Ra: (fumbles for words, in shock) Lakshya...Woh main...(clasps her mouth with her palm, in shock)...I am sorry..!! Main.. (gasping aloud, looks down and shakes her head hysterically)

Lakshya was at a loss of words, seeing her in such a vulnerable condition. He raised his palm and touched her cheek where he had slapped her, and gently moved her face to look up into his eyes.

La: (uncertainly) Raginiii..

One look at his concerned face, made her forget all her worries and troubles, and she moved forward and embraced him with all her love.
Ra: (whispers frantically) Lakshya, I love you..!! (sobs and sighs) I have always loved you..! (suddenly hugs him tight and starts to sob hysterically)

For a moment, Lakshya was shocked again and he couldn't react. But then, catching hold of her shoulders, he forcefully distanced her from him to look into her eyes.

La: (shouts out in fury) What the hell are you saying, Ragini..?! Kal meri aur Swara ki sagaai hone waali hain..!

Ragini shook her head in distress and then grabbed his shoulders possesively.

Ra: (sobbing harder, in a crying voice) I know, Lakshya..Yehi baat accept karne keliye maine bhi bahut koshish ki..(sobbing)Swara ki khushi ke liye, tumhari khushi ke liye, tumhein bhool ke main aage badhne ki koshish kar rahi thi...Par..(shakes her head and sobs harder) Par...(looks away and let out a demented wail)

La: (shouts) Par kyaaa..?!!

Ra: (between sobs, says with great difficulty) Par aaj toh...(sobs again) Maa ne meri aur tumhare bhaiyya Sanskaar ki shaadi ke baare mein baat ki..(looks at him vulnerably, like a child) Tabhi mujhe realize hua ke, aage badhna itna bhi aasaan nahin hain, Lakshya...!! (shakes her head, hysterically and sobs) Tumhare sivaa main kisi aur ke baare mein soch bhi nahin sakti, Lakshya..(then moans painfully) Mere saamne maut ke alaawa koi aur raasta bhi nahin bacha tha..

Ragini's hold on his shoulders loosened and she slid down the length of his body, her frail body shaking with grief. She now sat down on the cemented floor and wept her heart out, with her face covered inside her palms.

Lakshya's eyes too filled with tears, he just couldn't bear the sight of her, utterly broken like this. He knelt down on the floor beside her and placed his arms around her shoulders.

La: (softly) Raginiii..Rona bandh kardo na..Main tumhein aise nahin dekh sakta..please..!
Ra: (shakes her head and wails again) Lakshya..please jaao yahan se..Mujhe akela chod do please...(moans)Leave me alone..!

La: (stubborn tone) Nahin Ragini..I can't leave you alone..Tum phir se suicide karne ki koshish karogi..I know..
Ra: (moans out) Toh phir main kya karoon, Lakshya..Main tumhein kisi aur ke hote huve nahin dekh sakti..(sobs)

Lakshya shut his eyes tightly and tried to think for some time. This was not getting easy at all.

La: Acha teek hain..Tum chinta mat karo..Main yeh shaadi nahin karoonga..!!

Ragini couldn't believe his words, she stopped crying and frowned at him for a moment.
Ra: (unbelievably) Kya..?
La: (nods) Haan..!

Ra: (wipes her tears hastily) Par kyun..?!

La: Kyun ki main yeh shaadi nahin karna chaahta, issliye..! Tumhare liye nahin..Samjhi tum..!! (looks at her pointedly)

Ra: (smiles slightly) Uhmm..It's ok..Mere liye nahin toh bhi teek hain, Lakshya..(smiles wide) Tum yeh shaadi nahin karoge na..Pakka..(lets out a giggle)

For a moment, Laskhya thought that she had become mad, but then he understood that it was due to shock.

He stood up from her side and looked around the terrace.

La: (calm voice) Ragini..Main Swara se pyaar nahin karta...
Ra: (frowns) Kya..?

La: ...I was really restless when our marriage was fixed.. I had thought that the feeling would go away gradually, but it only increased day by day..I was feeling extremely unsure about this wedding... Our bonding was really great as best friends, and we have always loved each other in a real platonic level. But I could never imagine Swara as my wife, Ragini -- if you know, what I mean..When she had told me that she loves me and wanted to marry only me, I didn't think about it much, I didn't want to hurt her, you know..I had wished to tell her then that I wanted to think about it, that I wanted some time before I said 'Yes' to her..

Ra: Par Lakshya, Swara ne toh kaha tha, ke tum bhi usse bahut pasad karte ho..

La: (impatiently) Ragini..Maine kaha tha ke "Mujhe bhi tum bahut pasand ho...Par..." But she didn't want to listen what I wanted to say..She had already assumed that I was happy with this relationship, and didn't let me complete my sentence..(looks away impatiently) Ok so basically, I was unsure of my feelings for her...But before I could even be sure about it, she just told your parents that we wanted to get married to each other..I mean, she could have asked me about it, na..I was really angry at her that night, but I didn't want to hurt her, so I kept quiet..

Ragini understood the scenario, but she was still unsure about one thing. Slowly she stood up from the floor.

Ra: Par tum kaise yeh sagaai rok paaoge Lakshya..? Tum, sab se kya kehne waale ho..Matlab, especially, Swara se..She is really excited about this wedding..Tum uske dil kaise tod sakte ho, Lakshya..?

La: (lets out a deep sigh)Woh sab toh mujhe ab pata nahin Ragini..Par main kuch soch loonga zaroor..Tum chinta mat karo..(then suddenly he turns serious and points his index finger in warning) Aur haan..Agar dobaara aise suicide karne ki koshish ki toh, pehle main tumhein maar daaloonga..samjhi tum..!!

Ragini's eyes filled with tears again, but she didn't answer anything and looked away with a painful expression.

He was afraid to leave her standing there alone, lest she attempted something foolish again, so..

La: (serious tone) Chalo ab..
He caught hold of her hand and tugged her along, downstairs.

(It was after this incident that Sanskaar had followed Swara to the terrace, and all that had happened in the previous update)

After leaving Ragini inside her room, Lakshya came back to his apartment. It was then that he heard the conversation between his mother and Annapurna.

An: Suju..Tumhein kya lagta hain, Sanskaar ke saath shaadi karne ke liye Ragini maan toh jaayegi na..
Su: Dekhthe hain, kya jawaab aate hain unke taraf se..Nahin toh phir humare Sanskaar ke liye hum aur bhi ladkiya dekh sakte hain..Aap chinta mat karo jeeji..

La: Maa par Sanskaar bhaiyya toh, Kavita se shaadi karne waale the..Kya hua phir..?

Su: Woh rishta toot gayi beta..Tu nahin jaanta inn aaj kal ki ladkiyon ke baare mein..Waise shukar manaa ki tujhe Swara jaisi achi ladki mili hain..!

Shaking his head in exasperation, he walked into his room and slumped down onto his bed. He knew he was in a fix now.

Somehow he had coaxed Ragini into believing that he will do something to cancel this marriage, but now he had only two choices in front of him -- Ragini's happiness or Swara's happiness. And he knew that he cared for both of them equally, and so he just couldn't dream about breaking either one's heart.

La: (lowering his face in his palms) Oh God..!! Please help me..I just don't know what to do now..!

Just then as if God himself had answered his prayers, he received a phone call. It was Kavita.

La: (frowns) Why is she calling..? (answers the call) Miss. Singhania, Hi..
Ka: Lakshya..Please yeh shaadi mat karo tum..!

La: (shocked) Kya..?!!
Ka: Sanskaar aur Swara..They love each other..!

La: (bewidered) What are you saying...?!! But Swara says that she loves me..And how do you know about our wedding..?
Ka: Sanskaar ka call aaya tha abhi..He told me about it..!

La: Kya..? Par aap dono ki sagaai toh..
Ka: (smiles) Cancel ho chuki hain..And do you know the real reason behind it..It's because Sanskaar loves Swara a lot..He himself had confessed it to me, and I understood his plight..So I decided to help him out by telling a lie to his mother that I wanted to pursue my higher studies in London..

La: Acha..!
Ka: (seriously) Listen Lakshya...Swara knows that Sanskaar loves her..And I know really well that she has feelings for him..Even you might have noticed the way they are when they are together..Haven't you ever thought that they are made for each other..!!

La: (thinks) Ya..Even I have felt so, you remember their Veer-Zaara act..
Ka: (laughs slightly) Haan..Of course, I remember...But things are really complicated..Swara is in denial mode..Woh maan hi nahin rahi hain, ke woh Sanskaar se pyaar karti hain..Woh sochti hain ki woh tumse pyaar karti hain..Aur shayad mere saath tumhare bhaiyya ke engagement pehle ho jaane ke wajah se woh guilty feel kar rahi hogi...And she really doesn't know about the cancellation of our engagement..Sanskaar didn't tell her about it yet..He is saying that he won't do anything now..Woh haar maan chuka hain Lakshya..Humein hi kuch karna hoga..!

Lakshya couldn't believe his luck and he thanked his stars while he replied.

La: Tum chinta mat karo..I will do something..(smiles wide)

Next day, when Sanskaar came into Lakshya's room to take him to the engagement hall, Lakshya was still wearing a t-shirt and jeans. His Sherwaani for the engagement function, was lying on the bed, untouched.

Sa: (sighs, angrily) Lakshya..Kya hain yeh..? Ab tak ready nahin hua tu..? Jaldi se woh sherwaani pehen le, aur chal mere saath..Sab log tera intezaar kar raha hain..Swara bhi aagayi hall mein..

La: (frowns at him) Bhaiyya..Main yeh shaadi nahin kar sakta..!
Sa: (shocked) KYA..?!! Par Kyun..?

La: (sad, but plain tone) Kyun ki..Main Swara se pyaar nahin karta..
Sa: (utter bewilderment at first, and then fumes with anger) What the hell, Lakshya..!! Tu yeh sab ab bataa raha hain..?! I can't believe it..! (glares at him)

La: (impatiently) Bhaiyya..Baat karne ka samay nahin hain yeh..Jaldi se aap yeh sherwani pehn leejiye..Aur aapke kapde mujhe de deejiye.. Ab Swara se aap hi karna engagement aur phir shaadi..Gharwaalon ko main samjha doonga..Please..Jaldi keejiye..
Sa: (perplexed) Have you lost it, Lakshya..?!! Main kaise kar sakta hoon, usse sagaai..?!

La: (pleads) Baat ko samjhne ki koshish keejiye bhaiyyaa..!!
Sa: (anxiously, shouts) Lekin Swara mujhse pyaar nahin karti, Lakshya..! Woh tujhse pyaar karti hain..!

La: (shrugs indifferently) Woh sab mujhe nahin pataa ..But I know one thing..that I am not ready for this marriage..Issliye, Swara ka izzat bachaane ke liye, aapko uss se shaadi karna hi padega..Bas..!!
Sa: (exasperated tone) Kya bakwaas hain yeh, Lakshya..!!

Lakshya immediately hugged Sanskaar and pleaded,
La: Please, haan kehdeejiye na bhaiyya..

Sanskaar thought, "Oh no..! If I say yes for this stupidity, then Swara will surely think that I am the reason for this..She is surely going to assume that I did something to dissuade Lakshya from this engagement.."

La: (pleads) Sochna bandh kardeejiye Bhaiyyaaa..Aap haan nahin kahenge toh phir, I swear, main yahan se bhaag jaaoonga..Pakka..!
Sa: (withdraws from the hug in shock) Lakshya..!!

La: (demands) Toh phir aap jaldi se haan kar deejiye..!
Sa: (frowns) Par.. (thinks for some time, then) Acha, teek hain..!

La: (hugs him again) Thank you thank you thank you thank you, thaaank you...Ab jaldi se ready ho jaayiye..Aur aapke kapde mujhe de deejiye..

Sanskaar removed his yellow sherwani and gave it to Lakshya with an angry frown.

Sa: Yeh lo..

Lakshya held out the richly embellished sherwani to Sanskaar and he wore it hastily.
Sa: (demands angrily) Now what..?

La: Now, we will proceed to the hall, but you have to promise me something..
Sa: (frowns) What..?!

La: Jab tak yeh sagaai nahin ho jaata, tab tak aap kuch bhi nahin bolenge..
Sa: (raises his brows in exasperation) Lakshya..!! Kya bakwaas kar rahe ho..!

La: Arre..Aap Swara ko jaante nahin hain..She is really stubborn..(raises his brows pointedly)

Sanskaar thought, " Well, as if I don't know that..", but he acted as if it was news to him.

Sa: Acha..?!

La: Haan..Aap ko kya lagta hain, main jaake directly bol doonga ke main yeh sagaai karna nahin chaahta, toh kya woh aise hi maan jaayegi..(shakes his head) Nahin..! So I am going to say something, because of which she will agree to this sagaai..Ok..Par aap promise keejiye pehle ke aap beech mein nahin bolenge..Kyun ki main wahan jaake aisa hi kuch kehne waala hoon..(looks at him pointedly)

Sa: (rolls his eyes) Whatever..! (shakes his head in exasperation)

After a few moments, Sanskaar and Lakshya entered the party hall. But everyone's eyes were drawn to Sanskaar immediately. He was wearing this now:

And Lakshya was wearing the yellow sherwani, Sanskaar was wearing till now. Swara were looking at them, feeling really stunned.
But Lakshya walked in with determination, following a grim looking Sanskaar. His face was devoid of any expression. Sujata was the one to raise her voice first.

Su: Kya hain yeh, Lakshya..?!

And she walked towards him, feeling distressed. But Lakshya raised his hand in protest, even before she reached nearer. Praying to the almighty, in his mind, "Oh God..Please make Swara take the right decision, today..I know I should have talked to her about this first, but that would lead to more complications..", he proclaimed his decision, rather confidently.

La: Maa, Sanskaar bhaiyya Swara se bahut pyaar karte hain..Aur mujhe pata hain ke Swara bhi unse utni hi mohabbat karti hain..Main yeh shaadi nahin kar sakta..!

Sanskaar was frowning with shock, at his words. He thought, "What non sense..! Kya keh raha hain yeh ladka..God..!!". He had not expected this at all, but he remembered his promise to Lakshya, that he would keep quiet.

Ragini was surprised at the turn of events, she just couldn't believe what she was hearing, she thought, " Kya yeh sach hain..Ya phir, Lakshya ka koi plan hain..Waise mujhe pata tha ke Lakshya apna waada nahin todega..Thank you bhagwaan ji.."

Sw: (shocked and hurt) Lakshya..!!

Lakshya walked towards her and caught hold of her hand and faced her with a determined look.

La: (harshly)Swara..chup chaap aao mere saath..

He tugged her along and made her walk towards Sanskaar. Then he took out two boxes of rings from his pocket.

La: Yeh anghooti lo aur bhaiyya ko pehnaao..
Sw: (uncertainly) Lakshya..!
La: (stern voice) Main keh raha hoon na..Jaldi se pehnaao..

Everyone present in the hall, were too shocked to react, nobody dared to speak. Swara looked into the faces of Sharmishta, Shekhar, Ramprasad and Sujata, in turn. But everyone was looking at her with shock as if waiting for her next action.

Ragini was praying in her mind, " Just do it, Swara..Just do it.."

La: (aloud) What are you waiting for, Swara..Please do it..!

With shivering hands, Swara took the ring and slipped it into Sanskaar's ring finger.
Then he gave the other ring to Sanskaar.
La: Yeh leejiye bhaiyya..Pehnaao usse..

Sanskaar took her dainty hand inside his palm and he slipped the ring into her finger. Swara looked at him with a lot of questions in her eyes, but Sanskaar's face was expressionless. He was feeling really angry at the situation, Lakshya had forced him in.

Lakshya began to clap his hands with a stern smile and everyone present in the hall followed suit. Ragini's heart was dancing with joy.

La: Ok, I now request all the guests to bless this lovely couple, and then please enjoy your dinner..Thank you..(polite smile)

The guests began to congratulate the couple one by one and they all proceeded towards the banquet hall.

Swara looked at Sanskaar again, but he remained stone faced as ever, because he knew what was going to happen now. Swara would certainly accuse him of everything.

Swara glanced around and stared into her parents' faces, and she badly wanted to explain everything to them. But, since the guests were also present, (some were congratulating the now engaged couple, and some where insisting for photographs to be clicked with them), Swara knew that this was not the time to talk.

She herself was finding it hard to believe, what had transpired in this hall, a few moments ago. But amidst all these confusions, only one thing was clear to her -- that she was now his fiancee, soon to be wife of Mr.Sanskaar Maheshwari.

She looked sideways at Sanskaar with a furious glare.
Sw: (whispers, with gritted teeth) What is all this, Sanskaar..? Yeh sab aapke wajah se hua na..!

Sanskaar didn't bother to answer her and he looked away, quite arrogantly.

Sw: (low voice, impatient tone) Main aapse kuch poonch rahi hoon..I need my answers, right now..!

Sanskaar turned towards her with a murderous look in his eyes, clearly warning her to keep quite. Swara winced a wee bit, but she was not ready to accept defeat yet.

Sw: (whispers, unflinchingly) Aise ghoorne se main nahin darne waali..Samjhe aap..! Pehle Kavita se sagaai karte hain, aur ab mujhse..Sharam nahin aata aapko, yeh sab karne se..Kya prove karna chaahte hain aap..Aur ab Kavita ko kya jawaab dene waale hain, pehle woh toh bataaiye..?

Sanskaar was about to retort, but then a group of guests approached them and after that they didn't get any time to talk with each other.

After an hour or so, almost all the guests and relatives left the hall and now it was time for the couple and their closest family members to have their dinner. Swara realized that this was the time to talk with Lakshya and her parents, but she had been dreading that moment.
Lakshya walked towards them now, Swara was staring at him with wary eyes, afraid of what he was going to say.

Sw: Lakshya, yeh sab kya hain..Tumne yeh sab kyun kiya..? (painful look)

Lakshya knew that now was the time for the next stage of the plan. He had to make Swara realize her true feelings towards Sanskaar.

La: (frowns) Acha..? maine yeh sab kiya..?!! Waise, tum yeh toh bataao Swara..ke tumne aaj bhaiyya se sagaai kyun ki..?

Sw: (frowns) Kyun sagaai ki, matlab..? (a little impatient tone) Tumne hi toh kaha tha..!

La: (raises his brows) Acha..? Maine toh bas aise hi kaha tha ke tum aur Sanskaar bhaiyya ek doosre se pyaar karte ho..Par tum manaa bhi toh kar sakti thi na..

Sw: (puzzled look) Kya..?!

La: Teek hain toh phir, agar aaj main kehta ki, tum bhaiyya se nahin, kisi aur se pyaar karti ho, matlab kisi random ladke se, toh kya tum usse bhi sagaai kar leti..? (smirks)

Swara was caught off-guard and she gulped hard. She realized what he was trying to point out to her. Meanwhile, Sanskaar was wondering, what Lakshya was actually up to.

La: (smiles, then softly) Swaraaa..Main tumhein bachpan se jaanta hoon...So there is no need to play with me, ok..! Tum Sanskaar bhaiyya se sach mein pyaar karti ho..I just know it..!

At the same instant, Sanskaar's loud and angry voice rang out in the hall.

Sa: BAS LAKSHYA..!! Bahut ho chuka tera drama, ab..

He has had enough non-sense for the day. Now everyone's eyes turned towards him, including Swara's.

La: Par bhaiyya..! Main toh bas..

Sa: (grim face) Lakshya..! (walks towards them, angrily shouting) Maine kaha tha na..Woh mujhse pyaar nahin karti..(looks sharp into Swara's eyes)

Sw: (glares at Sanskaar and then turns to Lakshya) Haan Lakshya.. main toh humesha se sirf tumse..

La: (smiles) Nahin pyaar kiya, Swara..Samjhe tum(holds her shoulders)..Swara, listen to me..Being a dreamy girl as you are, you might have mistook that affection you felt for me as love..Dekho Swara...Khud se jhooth bolna bandh karo aur phir, apni feelings ko accept karo..Tum Sanskaar bhaiyya se pyaar karti ho..!! And I know that he loves you very much...Aur agar tumhein Kavita ke baare mein soch ke darr lag rahi ho toh, woh sagaai toot chuki hain ab, Swara..

Swara was shocked by this sudden revelation, and she couldn't understand why she was feeling really happy and relieved.

But, Sanskaar's tolerance level was crossing its limit now. He just couldn't bear someone else making a scene out of his emotions and feelings. He thought that, this was something which had to be between him and Swara, and according to him, Lakshya was now turning them both into a laughing stock in front of the others.

Sa: (angrily, shouts out) Bas bahut ho chuka Lakshya..!! Toh yeh sab ek naatak tha, haan..! Yahan aane se pehle kya kaha tha tu ne mujhse, ke tu iss shaadi se khush nahin hain, iss liye Swara ke izzat bachaane ke liye, usse sagaai aur shaadi kar lo, hain na..(fumes with anger) Maine tumse pehle hi kaha tha na ke mujhe iss sagaai ke liye force mat karo, kyun ki Swara mujhse pyaar nahin karti..Par nahin..! Tumhara plan toh kuch aur hi tha..Mission "Sanskaar- Swara ko milaao"..Wow..!! (glares at him furiously)

Swara was clearly astounded hearing this. But to her surprise, Lakshya's lack of interest in this relationship didn't hurt her at all. She was feeling really light-hearted now.

Sw: Lakshya..! Yeh sab sach hain kya..?! Tum iss rishtey se khush nahin the..?!

But, he didn't answer her question, he just turned to Sanskaar with an apologetic expression.

La: (alarmed) Nahin bhaiyya..I was just trying to..

Sa: (shouts) SHUT UP...! Mere pyaar ko iss tarah se mazaak banaane ka koi haq nahin hain tujhe, Lakshya..!!

He then, turned towards Swara now, with seething anger and frustration.

Sa: (arrogantly) Waise, Swara..Mujhe tumhara jawab pata hain..Tumne hi to kal mujhse clearly kaha tha na..ke agar main iss duniya ka aakhri insaan bhi hua, tab bhi tum mujhse shaadi karna nahin chaahogi..So there is no need to say anything...Waise agar tum iss sagaai ko cancel karna chaahti ho toh kar bhi sakti ho..teek hain..I have no issues..(smirks)

At that very moment, an angry looking Ramprasad approached them.

Rm: (seriously) Swara..Ab toh teri sagaai bhi ho chuki hain Sanskaar ke saath..Woh bhi saare mehmaanon aur rishteydaaron ke saamne..Lakshya teekh keh raha tha..Tu Sanskaar ko pasand karti hain, issliye toh tune yeh kadam uthaayi..

Shekhar too came towards them,

She: Haan..Nahin toh tu Sanskaar ko woh anghooti kabhi bhi nahin pehnaati..Ab faisla ho chuka hain..Ab aur behez nahin chaahiye mujhe..Waise bhi aaj itna saara drama ho chuka hain..Jaao jaake sab log khaana khaalo, aur uske baad ghar chalo..Beta Sanskaar, tum bhi aao.. Ab toh tum logon ki hi shaadi hogi..Humein koi aitraaz nahin iss rishtey se..

Every one of them went and sat down around a long table, for having the dinner.

She: Beta, tum yahan baitho, Swara ke paas..

Sanskaar nodded and sat down beside Swara with an expressionless face and they started having their dinner in silence, while everyone else was engaged in cheerful talks.

Swara wanted to talk to him, but she didn't know where to start with, and his serious face expression was not even helping. But still she decided to try,

Sw: (low voice) Sanskaar..

Sanskaar just gritted his teeth and clenched his fists, in frustration. But then he tried to compose himself,

Sa: ( low, but dangerous voice) Swara..I don't want to talk to you..If you say another word, main yahan se uth ke kahin chalaa jaaoonga..So, please - keep - quiet..!

Swara was taken aback by his answer and she turned her attention back to her food.

Wow Nainu. 👏 what a powerfully intense chapter, So much of drama, angst and excitement!

So that is how Lakshya discovered the truth--Kavita called him and informed him about Sanskaar's feelings for Swara, and how she was convinced Swara also reciprocated.

But even before Kavita's call, Lakshya was showing a lot of reservation about his engagement to Swara. He was not at all sure about entering into the relationship; he thought of Swara as a friend, with a lot of affection, but he just did not love her or think of her as his future spouse.

And while he was musing about these confusing thoughts, he was utterly shocked to come upon Ragini about to jump from the terrace and commit suicide! What a weak, silly decision. It would have had such terrible implications for her family, and Ragini doesn't seem to be able to understand that.

I was initially very angry with her, but then it does seem that she is so deeply in love with Lakshya. She did try to be happy for him and Swara, but she is not able to forget her own emotions for him. Plus, when the elders started talking of her potential alliance with Sanskaar, she was just heartbroken. She realized she could never ever forget Lakshya or move on with anyone else.

So Lakshya was torn between consideration for Swara's feelings and Ragini's feelings at that point. A small indication came there that he might, perhaps, feel more protective of Ragini, because he did promise her that he will not go ahead with the engagement & wedding to Swara. At that point, he did not yet know that Swara did not love him, rather she had feelings for Sanskaar. He came to know that only after Kavita's call which came later. So, the fact that he chose to give a bit more value to Ragini's feelings (and also, of course, the fact that he himself was never too happy with the decision to marry Swara), would probably mean that he would finally marry Ragini. 😊

Though I am so happy that Lakhsya played cupid between SwaSan, the way he went about it was not appropriate. I can totally understand poor Sanskaar's position, he must have felt to livid, hurt and frustrated at this turn of events. First, Lakshya told him that he himself was not going to marry Swara since he did not have feelings for her; and almost emotionally blackmailed Sanskaar into taking his place at the sagai, in order to protect Swara and her family's honor and reputation.

But at the venue, he dropped a bombshell: that Sanskaar loved Swara and that he knew Swara also had feelings for his bhai. Swara was shocked, and as expected, she misunderstood Sanskaar. Poor Sanskaar---he had agreed for the engagement out of completely different motives--to protect Swara and ensure she was not shattered. He had every right to feel the way he did: upset and hurt that his love was in a way, being exposed and mocked before all. That was not Lakshya's intention at all, poor chap--but in the end, it appeared like that. And my admiration for Sanskaar went up even more, when he controlled himself, and never responded to Swara's hurtful taunts, though he must have felt like dying inside. He was enraged and stared at her furiously, but waited till the guests had left before speaking out.

But thankfully, Sanskaar's outburst and Lakshya's clarification meant that Swara realized she was being unjust to Sanskaar. Also, she herself, as well as her family members realized that she truly did have feelings for Sanskaar. That was a very good question Lakshya asked. 😳 😉 Would she have agreed for the engagement had he pulled forward any other 3rd person? Obviously not. So, the very fact that she agreed to get engaged to Sanskaar itself meant, that she wanted to get engaged to him, wanted to get married to him. She loves him! But hasn't accepted it fully yet.

I feel so bad for Sanskaar here---owing to Swara's harsh words, he has convinced himself that she does not love him, and probably would always blame him. He knew that she had felt something for him, but now, he has probably resigned himself to painfully thinking that it was just a mere attraction from her side. Swara will now have to go all out in reassuring him, assuaging his pain. I am so eager to read how you make her do that, Nainu. Am sure it would be magical. 😳

By the way, I really loved that subtle nuance you gave about Swara's emotions--even when she was so confused, when she was still supposedly angry at Sanskaar, blaming him for the engagement---she still felt an unexplained joy, when she heard that his engagement with Kavita had been broken off. And again, when she heard about how Lakshya had been least interested in the engagement with her, instead of feeling hurt, she felt completely lighthearted in joy and relief! I hope she joins the dots and realizes that she had merely felt a strong affection, maybe a semi infatuation with Lakshya. But her heart, mind and soul were completely filled with thoughts of Sanskaar, ever since they met.
