Hey Bubble...🤗
Read chapters 16 and 17 in quick succession. 😊 What struck me in Chap 16, is how Lakshya seems to be genuinely moving ahead in his relationship with Ragini, in all senses of that word. She was certainly floating on air, in a most benevolent and magnanimous mood, even to Swara 😛, after that romantic romp with Lucky. 😆 Thank God Swara had that call list showing she had actually conversed with her friend, though. Just like Ragini, to be initially carefree, and then let her paranoia take over again!
I did find Lakshya a tad irritating in this chapter. Though he is clearly charting his path with Ragini, still doesn't seem to have realized certain subtleties of how not to behave with Swara. I don't mean in terms of anything romantic, of course. But I think, somewhere, he still hasn't let go of that feeling that he has certain rights over Swara's time. The way he peremptorily asked her to meet him later (to discuss Ragini) was rather cloak and dagger. And again, the way he was sitting just that little bit too close for Sanskaar's comfort (and Swara's for that matter), was a tad irritating. The Lucky in your tale is mature and is not (thankfully), scheming to get Swara back into his life. But he still, I think, needs to step back a bit more from Swara. Time will bring that about, perhaps? 😊
What I liked a lot in Chap 16, was the way Swara is conscious about Sanskaar's reactions, even if they are muted. She has deciphered, that his blank expression and stiff posture indicate his turmoil, and the fact that Lakshya had his head so close to her, didn't go down too well with him. 😉
Liked the way you described the younger set hanging out together, in Chapter 17. Lakshya, Sanskaar, and Swara all working together to iron out certain insecurities (perhaps extending to neuroses 😛) in Ragini's mind. To a certain degree, one can see how she would have been severely limited by her upbringing--by being so stifled in that cossetted, over protected, orthodox environment. So Debabrata was just a platonic pal of Swara's (which you'd hinted at), and supposedly had a crush on Ragini. 😆 Hopefully this kind of banter, might reassure her that she isn't always going to land up playing second fiddle/ being the second choice as compared to Swara.
Looking forward to the next chapter already! I want to say here again, that I like the Lakshya and Ragini in your tale so much more than in the serial. And that's really down to your quality of writing, since you know I normally love to hate Lakshya. 😆
