its very well written for a review.

Write more...you seem to have a real knack for hitting the nail right on the head.

Thanks for understanding.😊

Aww!! Thank you. Will try to write something on saanskar n ragini once I find some free time from uni work. But I doubt I could bring in the depth you have brought out. I really loved how you described her childhood. From the sweet nerdy girl to this mistress of manipulation.

Great letter! I haven't read your other letter series but this one certainly caught my attention. Wow! I believe everyone who has seen Swaragini will most definitely agree with your understanding of Ragini's character. The way you have brought out the past Ragini and reasons for her turning into the present Ragini is just fantastic. Her love for Lakshya and her response to his betrayal, too good! Ragini has so many colors and unexplored parts of her that need to be brought out. Thank you for doing such a splendid characterisation. Putting something like this into words is just mind blowing. Keep writing. :)

P.S.: Waiting for letters written by Lakshya to anyone. That would be a greater challenge because at the moment he seems to be the most frustrating character on the show. ;)

Medhu...🤗 🤗

Just as I loved "Confessions", all that time back, (That was sometime in August/ early September, wasn't it? Probably one of your first works on this forum), I loved this one too.

As I remember telling you in my comment on "Confessions", it is difficult to portray the emotions of the antagonist, in the manner you do. Without defending their actions in any form whatsoever, but still, giving a glimpse as to why that character behaves the way she does.

At the time I started watching the serial, I always used to feel tremendous sympathy for Ragini. You captured her earlier character traits beautifully, the shy, introverted, "bottled up" character, who always did as she was told. Her Dadi and Baba told her her handsome prince who would come riding in on a stallion, was none other than Lakshya, and well, she fit his face and form into that dream she had, didn't she? Let her mind be made up, as she always had.

And then, when the prince decided he didn't much care for this princess, he would rather have her half sister, well, the innocent, demure princess turned into an evil fairy. 😈 Unfortunately for fairy tale land, I don't feel sorry for the prince at all...no matter how hard I try.

There is only so much rejection, so much heartache anyone is capable of taking, before they break. Maybe someone with more depth to their character than Ragini, could have reacted in a less---well---morbid, near psychotic manner. But she'd never been encouraged to have any resilience and strength of mind, had she? So when she decided that life had taken her far enough on this macabre ride, she not only decided to get off, she also decided to take the wheel....which is when everybody else, started to get the "joyride" they never could have dreamed of, and certainly never wanted! 😕

I found Ragini's grim plans for snatching happiness from Swara & Sanskaar chilling. She knows her sister is no longer interested in her husband, but still wants her to be unhappy, alone. And she wants Sanskaar to pay, for perhaps giving her an initial nudge towards this madness, though he did try to restrain her after. She is too far gone down this road now, to care about the diversions she could have taken earlier.

Brilliant as ever, Medhu. Gray is my new favorite color, 😊, especially it is painted with all the delicate brush strokes you honor it with.

I am rooting for Ragini as well! I like her character and ever since she stopped shedding tears, she has become more attractive than others. I want her to make a fool out of Lakshya who is her biggest culprit. And my feeling is that SwaSan will not really unite and find happiness until Sanskaar also makes it up to Ragini. After all, he too had a hand to some extent in her turning out as she did and while he has made it up to Swara (in fact more than needed!), he still needs to put things right with Ragini. Swara may realize her feelings for Sanskaar, but I am sure actual union is going to be delayed until Ragini has worked out all her frustrations. I love Sanskaar and Ragini in this show...I wish for more scenes between the Guru and Shishya and finally Guru pulling the Shishya out of her hell.

Medha...what a letter...👏...the way you portrayed ragini's thoughts are phenomenal...it was like somehow your spirit went inside ragini's, got her thought process and then came out and wrote this letter 😲...I know this sounds like trash but at this moment I am unable to find a better analogue to correspond my views...so just look over...😆
It takes a great insight to write for a character who is hated by one and all...without justifying any of her deeds, you somehow manage to put across her views for her metamorphosis with such a stunning clarity and make people halt in their tracks to give ragini a second thought...to push people to look behind the obvious...hats off 👏...infact all your works are like this...concise, articulate but with an underlying wit...I love your works...😃
This Ragini is infinitely far more sinister than the previous one...she has no emotions and nothing to loose...her determination to ruin swara is deadly even after knowing that she does not want lakshya in her life...it just states her twisted way of looking at things and it surely sent shivers down my spine...making lakshya taste his own medicine is fine but targeting swara is beyond me. ..I just don't understand how on earth would she be redeemed...😕
I don't know if I have said before, that your work on ragini monologue is my favourite from all your works closely followed by sanskaar's mono...and then comes your OS friends...Sanskaar is my favourite, but I think I am in a league of my own when I say that Ragini follows sanskaar in my favourite list...😆...I like charcters with layers...one D characters bore me to death...🥱

Was just getting in to my car for a massive drive home hence the earlier Res and smug haha as I had managed to get in first- childish Shru 😃.
This letter reminds me (not that I need a reminder really) of why I became a fan of your writing when I was searching for really good fiction that I could connect to on the Forum. That was when I "found" you and Viji.
It gets to grips perfectly with a complex and not easy to love character. Everyone (to an extent) can justify heroes and heroines- not that much to justify, just to glorify perhaps. But when someone analyses a negative character sensitively and makes you understand what they may be feeling and why, that to me marks the person capable of good writing. You may agree or disagree with the character's reasoning but like with literary character analysis- there is no "right" or "wrong", you are not there to pass judgment but acknowledge the psyche of that character and I salute you for doing that so well with Ragini.
I loved the references in particular to the prince, who was actually the Pied Piper, playing the tune that lured the rats to their watery death. And the Charon analogy- 👏👏. I have forever been fascinated with the Ferryman and the visions of the coin having to be given to ensure safe passage, redolent of so much Greek mythology I have always been hooked on.
I also like the cold and calculating Ragini (like used entirely in context!)- even in the show it provides a fascinating, if repellent, dynamic, like a good villain should. I find more to explore in Ragini than Swara for sure and this letter nailed it for me. Ragini is now a person gone that step too far- nothing in a sense to lose as she's already lost it, or so she thinks. There is always however a lower level to fall to in Hell- you can keep creating the levels as you keep losing your foothold more and more but here, quite rightly, she won't see that. I also loved how her rose tinted glasses about Lux ji are now so off, they will never have the same glow again even if she puts them on ever.
It was chilling to read her almost offhand desire to perhaps also snatch everything from SwaSan- which she will of course if she can.
Really enjoyed it, like, a lot! Awesome!
Love always, S x

Shrutu🤗,

That childishness was cute.😛
I got bored with writing sugar and spice and everything nice for a while now...that series and the later OS were making me a diabetic. Just had to write something with a bit of garlic in it.😃

That Charon analogy was cool wasn't it? I am fascinated by the Greek mythology thing just as you are. Once saw a painting with the ferryman rowing the boat over the river of hell. You know one of those which you get in hotel rooms, although why that is supposed to make u feel better about being in a room I dunno😕

Anyway...so I got my weird loop hat on...and as Sakura put it..she said she was shocked to see Ragini writing letters from my account.😆

I am glad u enjoyed it. This Ragini I think I can sum up by Voldemort's quote:

There is no good or evil. There is only power and those too weak to seek it.

and I needed a way to insult Lakshya a bit...politely after the new rules on the forum.😉

Hey,
Sorry...I suddenly deleted ur buddy request...its just that, I am on my phone..and small screen..cross sign got pressed instead of the tick one to accept it. Do accept the request I sent u back.😃

Thanks for understanding ragini...and for ur reply. Yes, I like the potential her character has. She may be the villain...but its not like her villainy is all her own doing.😕
just wanted something from her own mouth..her POV so to speak.

Yeah that was a good scene wasn't it?
@bold..I agree completely.😊

Your prediction about how its gonna go would be my canon..its just that I dunno with Indian Telly Daayans always seem waiting on the threshold. It spoils my mood.

Amazing Letter... after reading this whole thing just got the flashes of our innocent , sweet ragini ... One thing that changed her completely... LOVE ... her love for lakshya , her madness to get him at any cost... Love which turned her from sweet to Evil , caring person to most selfish person...

👏👏👏
