Dadi: Yeh Swara Gadhodhia hai. Sh aur Mishty ki badi beti aur aapke hone wali bahu ki badi behen. Humne kabhi yeh baat aapse chupana nahi chaha lekin iss baap beti ki zidd ne hamare parivar ko tod diya hai.
All the Maheshwaris faces shot up in a shock at this revelation. La throws a puzzled look at Rag.
Dida: (adds to what dadi says) Parvati chalo neeche mehmano ka lunch dekhte hai. Sh aur Mishty ab tum dono yeh baat sambandhi-ji ko samjhao.
Adarsh, RP and San also joined dadi and dida to help attend the guests. La holds back San and begs him to stay by his side. San and La were feeling uncomfortable with the entire melodrama, and they couldn't believe Rag never even mentioned anything about having a sister.
Swara escaped to stand in an invisible corner of the room but the she felt like all the eyes in the room were staring at her questioningly. Rag went and stood beside her but it dint make her any less awkward. Finally Mishty spoke:
Mishty: Hamare parivar mein Sh, main, hamare dono maa hai. Hamari ek beti hai, Rag jo apki bahu banne jaa rahi hai. Meri badi beti Swara 5yrs pehle mar gayi hai. Yeh jo aaj sabke samne khadi hai woh ek heartless, sharaabhi aur ghamandi hai jo apne baap ko aur unki izzat ko maar dala.
Sh signals Mishty to stop.
Dr.Sh: DP-ji aap please baith jayiye. Mishty he is a heart patient so please stay calm. Hum sab ek parivar ban rahe hai toh aapka haq hai poora sach jaan ne ka.
La and San were busy whatsapp-ing each other. They were concerned for Rag but other than that seemingly bored.
La: Can't believe Rag ne mujhe kabhi hint bhi nahi diya.
San: Lucky yeh bahut lamba chalne waala hai, mujhe plz jaane de.
La: Bhai please sun to le, inki well kept family secret kya hai. Ladki sharaabhi hai, tujhe iss baat se zara sa bhi interest nahi aaya.

Dr.Sh: Swara meri aur Mishty ki badi beti thi. Hum busy doctors they, toh Swara ka dekhbal apne dadi aur dida ne kiya. Woh 5yrs ki thi jab usne hamse bola ki usko hostel mein rehna hai aur ghar mein nahi. Mein aur Mishty shocked they par hame Swara ke maturity pe bahut garv tha. Usko Mayo-Ajmer ke hostel mein join kiya aur hum Delhi shift ho gaye. Phir school ke baad yeh IIT-Bombay mein computer science join karli usne jab ki usko Delhi mein seat mil raha tha. Usko kabhi ghar ya gharwalon ke paas nahi rehna tha but we never said no to her. We gave her unconditional support and respected her independence.
San head shot up at the mention of Computer Science at IIT-B, he knew one had to be a genius to crack that and he looked at the girl who he now thought was smart from the corner of his eye. He graduated from IIT-Chennai (in textile and merchandise) himself so he knew the struggles and sacrifices one made as a teenager. Somewhere his intuition told him she was a college drop-out and hence the family disowned her.
Dr.Sh: Shona final year mein thi aur ek din hame dean se phone aaya ki usko college se expel kar rahe hai. Yeh ladki (pointing to Swara) genius hai, we were so proud and blind of her grades and achievements, hamne kabhi usko jaan ne ki koshish nahi ki. Mishty: Swara ko bachane ke liye inko doctor practice resign karni padi. Unhone saara blame apne sar pe le liye aur hamari khush naseeb thi ki Shekar India ka best cardiologist hai toh doc association ne kuch bhi action nahi liya. Warna ek doctor ko practice chodna mauth se bhi bada sazaa hota hai. Lekin Swara na sorry thi na thank kiya usne apne pita ko. Mujhe aur Sh ko aisey bachche nahi chahiye jinko hamari zarurat nahi hai, hamari parivar ki fikar nahi hai. Ham sharminda hai lekin iss besharam ladki ki wajeh se hum Rag ki future kharab nahi kar sakte.
Dr.Sh: DP-ji aapko yeh baat galat haalaton mein pata chala, lekin hum sahi samay aane par, aap jab poori tarah thik ho jaate hum batane waale the. Mein aapse issi baat ki maafi mangta hu and he kneels down in front of everyone with folded hands.
AP was about to say something when Sw speaks walking towards everyone.
Sw: Maa, Baba firstly mein ek drug addict nahi hu.

AP: Lekin hum sab ek parivar hai beta. Aur tumhari behen hamare ghar ki bahu banne waali hai, toh sirf khushiyan hi nahi hum uske dard bhi baatna chahenge.
Sw: Ohh, is it? Baba why are you sorry you dint tell them about me. Unhone bhi toh aapse bahut chise chupayi. Unki business itne losses mein chal rahi hai, 2 yrs tak profits ki koi scope hi nahi hai, yeh baat aapko pehle pata tha. Aap bina kuch background checks ke gudiya ko aisey kaisey kisi family mein bhej denge.
DP gave a disgusting look at Sw as she unleashed awkwardness in the two families. San and La gave an unbelievable look at the girl as they were wondering how she could have known such classified information.
San: Sh uncle aap inko (pointing to Sw) batade ki facts re-check karle. Even better aap mere saath office chaliye mein khud aapko sab kuch dikhaunga, background checks ki zarurat hi nahi hai.
DP signals San to stop.
DP: Sh ji aapne sahi hi socha hai. Yeh ladki Rag ke bhavishya ko kharab kar sakti hai. Bolne ka dhang hi nahi aata is ladki ko.
Dr.Sh and Mishty passed worrisome looks.
Mishty: Shona tu ab ek bhi lafz aur nahi bolegi. Please yeha se chali ja, I know you don't need us and we are also slowly getting used to living without you.
Sw: Par maa...
She stops as her mother was folding her hands in front of her and was in tears. Swara stormed out of the room and she was nowhere to be seen by the time Rag went out looking for her sister. When Rag came back to the room, only one thought lingered in her mind:
"Am I still engaged? Will Lucky still love me and trust me?"
She remembered how La's eyes din't leave her through the entire time and how disappointed he was in her.
AP and Su, are understanding and good-natured women who run a big house and they have seen a lots of ups and downs in life. They tried to create a good atmosphere with their comforting words to Dr.Sh and Mishty. The doctor couple felt very happy Rag was going into such an understanding family. They all ended the function on a cordial note and said their goodbyes by sunset.
La however, did not eat, did not speak a word and very silently slipped away with his family. This scared Rag, she called him multiple times but he did not pick the phone and further he switched it off. At around 11PM, AP and San came rushing into his room asking him if he knew where Rag is. AP informed him that Mishty called them saying Rag is not to be found at home, not at any friends place and she is not picking her phone and her car is not around the house.
