CHAPTER 22

FLASHBACK

Laksh was waiting on the terrace of his room looking at the stars they were so beautiful just like his life was so beautiful after ragini came. Suddenly he felt two pairs of soft hands closing his eyes, immediately a full fledge smile came on his face

Laksh: ragini

Ragini was stunned and smiled: kia laksh humnay toh zra si awaz bhi nahi ki aur phir bhi apnay humay pehchan lia? Aisay kaisay?

Laksh turned around putting his arms around her waist and bringing her closer to him, laksh looked at her lovingly his eyes were on her face, she was so innocent, her eyes had this purity. He was deeply in love with her. Laksh traced her face with his fingers while his face had this contended smile plasted.

Laksh in a whispering voice: tumhay dekhnay liye mujhy inn ankhon ki zarorat nahi hai ragini, bs tumhara ehsas hi kafi hai

"teray bina andhaira tha

Bahon mai teray hi saveraa tha"

Ragini looked down as her eyes welled up: ap itna pyar kartay hain humsay? Kabhi kabhi humay yakeen nahi ata kai ap humari zindagi mai hain

Laksh pulled her more closer and ragini could feel her heart racing because they were so close

Laksh: ab yakeen ho raha hai? Actually mai nahi ragini tum meri zindagi mai aai. Maine lakh thukraya, bhaga apni kismat sai aur shaid chupa bhi par akhir kar tumnay andairo mai sai mujhy nikal hi lia.

Ragini hugged him: hum apsay bohat pyar kartay hain laksh

Laksh hugged her back: mujhsay zada nahi

He kissed her neck and she pushed him a little

Ragini: laksh ap bhi na

She tried to run while he held her wrist taking out his mobile and switching on the camera

Ragini: laksh ye hap kia kar rahay hain

She laughed while laksh captured her in his cell

Laksh: perfect

PRESENT

Laksh wiped his tears as he saw the same picture on the wall of his and ragini's room. He looked around and saw that every wall had their moments. He smiled sarcastically on his fate before moving out from room and locking it.

FLASHBACK

Sanskaar was in garden planting a new plant, he was way too much excited when swara came their

Swara: sanskaar? Yeh tum kiakar rahay ho?

Sanskaar: main?

Swara: sanskaar aur kiska naam hai?

Sasnkaar smiled: swara main yahan humaray anay walay baby keliye aek new plant laga raha hoon

Swara was surprised and she sat beside him helping him with the mud fixing

Swara: mujhay nahi pata tha kai tumhay plants ki bhi knowledge hai

Sanskaar: toh ismay itna shock honay ki kia baat hai?

Swara: shock nahi hoon surprise hoon, mujhy laga tha kai tum toh boring type kai ho

She teased him, sanskaar stopped fixing the mud in the soil and looked at swara

Sanskaar: boring type?

Swara nodded

Sanskaar brushed swara's cheeks with his mud filled hand while swara was shocked

Swara: haw sanskaar

She called him while he ran and swara ran behind him

Swara: abhi btati hoon tumhay

Swara got hold of the water pipe and threw the water on sanskaar while he got wet fully

Sanskaar: stop swara yeh cheating hai

Swara laughed : everything iss fair meray boring husband

Sanskaar: swara ki bachi

Swara ran and was about to falter when sanskaar shouted

Sanskaar: swara dehan sai

PRESENT

Sanskaar opened his eyes with a jerk and panted heavily thinking that he was having a flashback to his and swara moment from the past. Sanskaar opened the side drawer and took out his and swara's picture when he got to know that she was expecting and he sat on his knees that day laksh clicked it.

Sanskaar: cheater mai nahi hoon swara tum ho. Meri zindagi mai khushian toh lai tum par jab aek sath dukh share karnay ka time aya toh akela chor dia mujhay

He touched her face in the frame

Sanskaar: we have lost out baby swara

He cried

"bichad kai bhi mujhsay judaa toh nahi

Khafa hai magar bewafa toh nahi"

He hugged the frame tightly

Sanskaar: swara please.

Laksh turned around locking the door just to face swara who was standing in front of him

Swara: laksh tumnay kamra lock ku kardia?

Laksh thought of some excuse what can he tell her

Laksh: wo swara actually

Swara noticed that laksh was kind of tensed, she placed her palm on his cheek

Swara: kia howa laksh? Bolo na

Laksh moved back maintaining a distance between them

Laksh: swara wo room mai thori renovation honi hai that's why lock kia tab tak hum dosray room mai shift kar rahay hain

He said it looking here and there not wanting to look at her

Swara make him look at him by cupping his face: laksh I love you and I know tum pareshan ho par mujhsay share nahi kar rahay ho. Aj shaam humara reception hai aur tum zara sa excited nahi ho?

Laksh was totally uneasy and he held her hands in his: aisi koi baat nahi hai, mujhy thora kaam hai

Swara : kaam hai ya bahana bna rahay ho? Laksh please btana hai toh saaf saaf btao is tran jhoot mat bolo

Swara stomped her foot and went down. Laksh sighed in relief as she went and turned to go the other way when he saw ragini standing there. He smiled looking at her she was such a relief to his eyes

Laksh: ragini

Ragini: laksh apko aisa nahi karna chai tha agar swara ko shak hojata th?

Laksh came closer to her and kissed her forehead: par howa to nahi na, plus ragini yeh kamra mera aur tumhara hai, humara hai.. ismay humari yadein hain tumhari yadein hain

"meray hath mai hi tera hath hai

Meray paas hai tu meray sath hai"

Ragini: tasveerein hatt bhi sakti thi

Laksh calmed himself down: itna asan nahi hai

Ragini turned the other way controlling herself: asan toh kuch bhi nahi hai (remembering how swara hugged laksh) par sawal swara ki zindagi ka hai.. aur uskay sath apkay bhai ki zindai juri hai, humaray maa papa ki zindagi juri hai aur humari juri hai. Wo humari behen hai laksh isliye ab say usko khush rakhna apka farz hai tab tak jab tak wo theek nahi hojati. Apnay kasam khai thi humari vada kia tha humsay

She was about to go when laksh held her arm and pulled her towards him looking straight into her eyes, his eyes had tears

Laksh: tum kar pao gi?

Laksh was holding her tightly, ragini made a pained face

Ragini: laksh hum itna jantay hain kai agar swara ko kuch bhi hogya toh hum jee nahi paein gai .

Laksh left her arm: I am sorry ragini, par iss wakt I want to be with you, yeh humari life ka aek khubsurat phase hai and yeh sab

Ragini came closer to him and planted a kiss on his forehead

Ragini: humaray laksh bohat strong hain, apnay sai zada wo dosron ki khushi ka sochtay hain. Laksh hum apkay sath hamesha hain, pyar sirf kareeb rehnay sai thori hota hai? Duri bhi toh aek pyar hai .

Ragini wiped laksh's tears and then went from there. Laksh looked at her going away and it pained him like anything .

Swara was coming down from one way while sanskaar was coming down from the other way both of them faced each other. Swara moved to go but sanskaar moved at the same time, then swara tried the other way and sanskaar did the same at the same time

Swara huffed: what? Kia chahtay ho mujsy?

Sanskaar: swara mai kuch nahi chahta

Swara: phir meray ratsay mai ku ajatay ho baar baar? Ap kaunsa plan hai tumhara? Itna sab kuch karnay kai baad bhi iss ghar mai ho koi kuch kehta nahi iska matlab yeh nahi hai kai tum jo marzi karo. Listen to me properly meray aur laksh ki life mai ab kuch bhi galat karnay ka sochna bhi mat

Sanskaar shut his eyes tightly hearing her harsh tone and he did not wanted to cry in front of her. This was his test and he has to paas it for swara because he loved swara above everything in the world.

Sanskaar moved and swara moved too dashing into each other, swara lost her balance and was about to fall when sanskaar held her from her waist. Sanskaar looked straight into her eyes and swara looked back, she didn't knew why but she felt her heart racing, his closeness was affecting him some how

"kitnay dur dur hoon un dono kai rastay

Mil jatay hain jo banein ik dujay kai vastay"

Swara's hairs were flying by the wind, sanskaar eyes which were filled with tears. A long tear through his eyes fell on swara's face and she came out of her trance getting up and fixing herself. She was feeling weak looking at sanskaar whose eyes were filled. Suddenly she felt that her hand was moving forward to wipe his tears and swara was shocked by this, she controlled her emotions and ran from there. sanskaar was shocked too, she still felt his pain

Sanskaar: par kaisay?

Ragini from behind: ku kai pyar demag sai nahi hota, pyar toh dil aur dharkan sai hota hai. Pyar mai koi sahi galat nahi hota sab kuch acha hota hai. Swara ki yadein usay apka pyar mehsoos karnay sai rok nahi sakti

Sanskaar smiled to ragini and she smiled back

Ragini: sab jald hi theek hoga a bap chaliye papa nai room mai bulaya hai

Sanskaar nodded, as they both went laksh looked at them from above

DURGA PARSAD ROOM

Annapurna: sujata yeh sab kia tamasha hai? tumnay swara kai demag mai reception ki baat ku daali? Tum janti ho na kai swara yeh sab isliye samjh rai hai ku kai usai kuch yad nahi hai

Ragini was sitting on bed while sanskaar stood beside the window

Durga parsad: sujata Annapurna ko jawab doo

Sujata: jiji ab shadi hui hai toh reception toh banta hi hai na ?

Ragini stood up: chichi ye ap kia keh rai hain? Swara sanskaar ki patni hai ap yeh sab bol bhi kaisay sakti hain?

Sujata shouted: aee chorii wo Bengali maari bahu na hai na maine mana hai kabhi usay. Mai thari dadi na hoon jo bengaliyo ko apna loon gi. Acha howa jo swara ko kuch yad nahi hai balkay kismat ka khel dekhiye us chori ko bas laksh ka pyar yad hai wah.

Ragini had tears in her eyes. Sanskaar came towards sujata

Sanskaar: mai swara sai pyar karta hoon mom

Sujata: sanskaar iss baar mai thari koi baat na mano gi, thara koi farz apni maa ko layky bhi hai. aur agar iss baar tunay maari baat na mani toh mai zehar khaa loon gi keh daiti hoon

Sanskaar: mom ye hap kia keh rai hai

Sujata: sach keh rai hoon main .uss chori ko wapis kuch aye gay a nahi kisko pata hai. aur yeh ragini qurbani dai sakay hai par mara beta na daiway ga qurbani bhaisaa. laksh aur swara kai reception kai baad mai tharay liye koi achi larki dekhon gi. Acha hi howa jo thara aur laksh ka reception pehlay na kia humnay.

Everyone was shocked, ragini hugged Annapurna an cried hard.

What was happening in their life's was a big question mark ???

RECEPTION

Everyone was present in the reception part, it maybe a fake show for the family but for swara's well being they had to pretend it. Durga parsad and Annapurna stood with guests but was looking at ragini who was working non-stop. Sanskaar was noticing that too and he knew why she was doing it to divert her attention and not to fall apart in this misery. Sanskaar was wearing a black coat and white shirt while ragini was in white churiddar. Ragini looked towards the entrance as gadodia family entered

Ragini ran to sharmishta and hugged her

Sharmishta: meri ragu kaisi hai?

Ragini: maa hum theek hain

Dadi put her hand on ragini's head blessing her

Shekhar side hugged her

Sharmishta: apni maa sai jhoot bolay gi?

Ragini shook her head saying no: maa apsab iss party mai mujhsy zada baat mat keejaga warna swara ko acha nahi lagay ga. Aur uski sehat keliye tension acha ni hai... koshish ki jaga

Dida came and hugged ragini: sab theek hojaye gat u dekhna ragini.

Ragini smiled.

As the spot light went on stairs everyone clapped for swara and laksh who came down, swara's hand was around laksh's arm. Sanskaar and ragini came in the middle looking at swara and laksh. Swara was wearing a white netted saree. Sanskaar thought she looked beautiful. Swara who was smiling looking at all, looked at ragini and held laksh more tightly coming more closer to him. sanskaar looked the other way ragini felt her face heating up as she will cry any moment. Sujata smiled while else everyone was depressed by this. Shekhar and sharmishta looked at ragini who turned around and shut her eyes as tears dropped from them

"vishwas ki tootay howay tukray chubhtay hain sansoon mai

Yeh sila dai gai qurbaniyan hayee

Yeh sila dai gai qurbaniyan"

Laksh made a fist of his hand looking at ragini who was not facing him. he closed his eyes and felt tears flowing. As swara looked at him he wiped them. They cam down and took blessings from all the elders and then stood on the stage. Swara was holding laksh's hand. Three hearts were definitely crying today. Ragini took the tray of drinks and was serving the guests. As she moved from one guest to other laksh eyes were following her and her every step. He was dying to hold her to hug her and tell her that he only love her. Ragini from the side of her eyes looked at laksh who was looking at her. Swara saw ragini looking at laksh, she looked at laksh who was looking at ragini too. She got a bit angry

Swara: laksh

Laksh looked at her: hmm

Swara: are you alright?

Laksh:hmm

Ragini saw that and moved from there

"hotay hain kuch aisay bhi

Ansoo jo behtay nahi"

Sanskaar was also looking at swara remembering their wedding moments and how he took her in his arms and went to their room and placed her on the bed. She made his life beautiful. He smiled to himself. Swara looked at him and saw the pain on his face and before she goes weak again she looked the other way.

"unsay humay pyar hai

Yeh bhi wo kehtay nahi"

Sanskaar sighed as he looked at ragini who was continuously doing work, he took a glass of orange juice and went to her

Sanskaar: enough now, bohat kaam karlia ragini aur iss state mai itna stress acha nahi hai. so have this orange juice

Ragini: kamzor nahi parna chahti thi sanskaar tabhi uljha rai thi khudko

Sanskaar: agar lucky ko pata chala that tum apni aur baby ki sehat ko layky itni ignorant ho then he would be definitely pissed.

He took he tray from her and gave her the glass of juice. She took it had a sip

Ragini: socha tha humara bacha humaray liye khushian laiky aye ga magar

Sanskaar placed his hand on her shoulder: aisa mat kaho ragini wo

He looked up and was shocked, ragini looked at him

Ragini: kia howa

She looked the way he was looking and turned around to see swara, ragini gulped down her fears. Swara was still and shocked, she moved towards ragini while sanskaar came in between

Sanskaar: swara meri baat suno mai samjhata hoon

Swara pushed sanskaar and went and stood in front of ragini

Swara: ab kehnay aur sunay ko reh hi kia gaya hai?

Ragini had fear in her eyes: swara wo... wo hum

And swara slapped her hard. While everyone looked at both of them. Maheshwari's and gadodia's came and stood around them and the other guests were shocked too

Sharmishta: shonaa yeh tunay kia kiya?

Swara: ap apni ragini sai pochiye na maa..

Laksh was standing a little behind but beside swara and looked at sanskaar and ragini. Ragini signaled him not to say anything by shooking her head

Swara: band karo apna natak

Her voice was high pitched

Shekhar: par howa kia hai swara

Sharmishta: beta mehmaan hain ahista bolo

Swara : ahista bolon? Ahista bolo? Jo harkat meray samnay aai hai na uskay baad mai ahista nahi bol sakti hoon. Pochiye apni beti sai kai abhi abhi yeh kia keh rai thi.. maa baba kia apko pata hai kai ragini maa banay wali hai

Everyone gasped

Swara: wo bhi bina shadi kai

Ragini closed her eyes and the people around them tstarted to talk as how cheap this girl is and etc. laksh looked around and then looked at ragini. He was holding a glass and he broke that in his hand only . his anger was rising but he was straight looking at ragini who was quite.

Swara: pehlay toh isnay sanskaar kai sath milkay mujhay aur meray pyar ko alag karna chaha.. phir bhi apsab nai koi saza nai dii, phir isnay apni behan ko paani mai Dhaka daikay marna chaha phir bhi ap sab chup rahay aur aj .. aj toh hadh hogai.. ab mujhy pata chalta hai kai yeh pregnant hai aur yeh khud apnay mu sai bol rai thi . ab bhi ap sab kuch ni karein gai

She looked at durga parsad, then her dadi then her papa

Swara was shocked as no one was saying anything. The guests were non stop talking. All the baadi neighbours were their too and all the prestigious people were their too

Swara: yakeen nahi araha.. koi ragini sai sawal bhi ni kar raha kai yeh bacha kiska hai.

More tears came from ragini's eyes

Swara: theek hai mai hi pochti ho

She grabbed ragini's arm and shook her: itni giri hui harkat karnay kai baad ro ku rai ho? Masoom sa chehra , dadi kai sanskaar baba ki seekh aur dada ji kai adarsh sabka jab yeh ghatiya harkat kartay waqt nahi soch toh ab ku ro rai ho

Sanskaar: stop it swara.. bas karo ab

Swara: ku bas karo.. kiska bacha hai yeh mujhy jana hai? ragini jawab doo

Ragini was quite what can she say, she had nothing to say swara's life was more important than her own self-respect

Swara: maine kuch pocha hai? kiska bacha hai janti ho na kai begair shadi kai bachay ko log kia kehtay hain?

Sharmishta: swaraaa. Aek dum chup hojao

Swara: ku maa? Ku? Ap isko kuch ni kahein gi? Aur durga parsad maheshwari ap? Ap kuch nahi kahein gai

Sharmishat: hum sab baad mai baat karein gai

Swara: jab sab batein idhar ho hi chuki hain toh yeh bhi yahi hogi.

She turned to ragini

Swara: main btati hoon kai begair shadi kai bachay ko kia kehtay hain. Wo larki jisko apny bachay kai baap ka naam na pata ho uss bachay ko najaiz kehtay hai . Illegal child from an illegal relationship

Ragini was broken

Laksh shouted: swaraaa

As swara looked at him ragini from behind asked laksh to not say a word. Sanskaar looked at ragini, it was enough now

Sanskaar: just shut up swara..

Swara to sanskaar: mujhy chup karwanay walay tum hotay kaun ho?

Sanskaar: tumhay ragini pai iss tran ungli uthanay ka koi haq nahi hai

Swara: wo behan hai meri

Sanskaar: tum bhool chuki ho sab rishton ko

Ragini held sanskaar's arm: sanskaar please chup hojaye please hum ahth jortay hain

Swara was not understanding

Sanskaar: nahi ragini ab nahi. Tumhari behn ko koi farak ni parta kai tum uski behen ho. Usko bas apni pari hai selfish hogai hai wo

Swara: mai selfish hogai hoon? Meri behen nai apni zindagi family ki izat ka aek baar ni socha aur mai selfish hogai hoon. Agar yeh theek hai toh btati ku nahi hai kai kiska bacha hai yeh

Sanskaar had enough of this non sense

Some random ladies: iss ragini ka toh character hi khaarb hai. parvati ji ki aisi parvarish. Ajeeb log hai . chii

Sanskaar to them: bas keejay chup hojaye ap log. Aur tum

He looked at swara

Sanskaar: jana chahti ho na kai yeh kiska bacha hai? do want to know? DO YOU?

He shouted

Swara: haan bolo

She shouted at him too

Sanskaar held ragini hand while she looked at him and before she could say anything sanskaar shouted : MERA BACHA HAI YEH. MAI HOON ISS BACHAY KA BAAP GOT IT!

Swara moved back in shock, laksh was taken aback, the family members were astonished . ragini who was looking at sanskaar with tears in her eyes digested what he has just said.
