Swaragini ff: Kahin Toh

CHAPTER 21

"Mr. Sanskaar" Dr approached him and sanskaar looked up as he broke his chain of thoughts. He was sitting with his whole family outside the two wards. Swara was admitted in the i.c.u while ragini was lying unconscious in the next ward. Laksh was sitting beside ragini in her ward and rest all the Maheshwari'd and gadodia's were waiting for the doctor t come and inform about swara and ragini's well-being. Sanskaar moved towards the doctor holding his hands

Sanskaar: dr. dr. how is swara? Kaisi hai wo? And ragini? Aur bachay?

Laksh with tears in his eyes came out from ragini's ward as she was not gaining consciousness at all, shekhar patted his shoulder. Laksh went and stood with sanskaar to know what the doctor had to say.

Dr: Mr. sanskaar and Mr laksh

Both of them looked at the doctor as if there life depended on what he would say

Laksh: boliye na doctor kia howa hai?

Dr: mrs ragini is fine with her baby, unko kabhi bhi hosh asakta hai but mr sanskaar I am sorry to say we could not save the baby.

Sanskaar left the doctor's hands, everyone gasped at what doctor said. Laksh had tears in his eyes and thought that how will he break this news to ragini who was more happy for being a maasi then a mother herself. Sanskaar moved back in shock as he hit the wall

Everyone's vision got blurred by the tears. Sharmishta hugged shekhar not believing what doctor said. How can it happen with her shona.

Sanskaar shut his eyes tightly and in the other ward ragini opened her eyes at the same time.

Ragini looked around the room trying take in the environment she was in. she got up with a jerk as a fresh memory of swara falling off that bridge came to her mind. The nurse looked back at her and tried to calm her down

Nurse: dekhiye ap aisay nahi karsakti , apko rest ki zarorat hai

Ragini: humari behen aur laksh.. humara parivaar kahan hai

Nurse: wo sab bahar hain, apki behen sath walay i.c.u mai hain

Ragini looked dumbly at the nurse. Why swara was in i.c.u was she that serious, ragini's heart beat started to race faster as she took off the glucose tube from her hand roughly and shrieked a little as it hurted and stood up going out from the room while the nurse ran after her. Ragini acme out and saw everyone there. She looked at laksh and he was safe, ragini sighed and called him

Ragini: laksh

Laksh turned around to see ragini standing near the door, he ran towards her and supported her. Ragini hugged him in fear.

Ragini: ap thee hain laksh?

Laksh: ragini tumhay aram ki zarorat hai

Ragini shook her head going towards her mother and hugged her. Sharmishta cried hard hugging ragini. Ragini looked at sanskaar who was just standing in shock and not moving. Ragini went to him and put her hand on his shoulder

Ragini: sanskaar swara kaisi hai?

Laksh listening to her question turned the other way controlling his emotions.

Ragini: sanskaar humnay apsay kuch pocha? Humari behen kaisi hai? Aur baby? Uska baby kaisa hai?

Sanskaar looked at ragini with tears welling up in his eyes and shook his head looking at ragini, ragini dropped lifelessly on the chair digesting what sanskaar meant. Annapurna rushed to her

Annapurna: beta apnay apko sambhalo. Sab theek hoga.

Ragini turned towards Annapurna while she cupped her face: maa humari behen kai sath aisa ku howa?

Annapurna: yeh sab hum faisla karnay walay koi nahi hotay beta. Humay khudko sambhalna hoga warna swara ko kaun sambhalay ga?

Ragini sobbed out loud hugging Annapurna: aisa nahi hosakta... aisa nahi hosakta.. khushian atay atay nahi cheen sakti meri behen sai. Wo kitni khush thi, hum kitnay khush thay.. nahi maa yeh nahi hosakta.

Sanskaar looked at ragini and remembered what swara told him once ( "jitni zarori meray liye meri family hai utnay hi zarori tum bhi ho sanskaar, agar meri zindagi ragini kai bina adhori hai toh tumharay bina bhi mai kuch nahi") and swara would have never wanted ragini to cry like this and torture herself and if swara was not here right now so it was his duty to look after swara's first priority and responsibility that was ragini. Sanskaar went to ragini and put his hand on her shoulder reassuring her. Ragini looked at him and cried some more.

The dr. came out and sanskaar and ragini stood up: mrs swara ki halat bohat nazuk hai, paani lungs mai jachuka hai and she is not breathing properly.

Ragini covered her mouth in shock and ran towards the mandir to pray for her sisters well-being. Sharmishta wanted to go after her but shekhar stopped her

Shekhar: usay janay doo

Sanskaar heart sank, he would not able to live if anything happens to swara. Sanskaar remembered as how kavita died in his arms and then swara was the light to his darkness filled life.

Ragini sat in front of the little mandir made in the hospital and joined her hands to pray for swara's wellbeing.

Ragini: ap jantay hain kai humari behen kai begair humara koi wajood nahi hai. Swara ko kuch ni hona chai kuch bhi nahi

She cried and took a diya and placed it in her hand: jab tak humari behen theek nahi hojati hum yeh diya apnay hath sai nahi utarein gai.

Here swara's breathing got normal, and she opened her eyes which were blank

Dr: Mrs maheshwari look at me, can you hear me

Swara with great difficulty replied: hmm

Dr: ap theek hain?

Swara again replied: hmm

Dr: how are you feeling now? Can you breathe properly?

Swara: hmm.. mujhay... (she paused) mujhay bethna hai..

AFTER 3 HOURS

The doctor came out again and sanskaar got scared as if the doctor will tell him something bad but instead the dr said

Dr: she is fine now. It's kind of miracle aplog unsai mil saktay hain.

Everyone smiled at each other. Shekhar and sharmishta smiled in relief. All of them went in the ward to meet swara. Sanskaar was about to go when he look around for ragini. She was not there, he went to look after her and saw her sitting in front of mandir with hot diya on her hand. Sanskaar ran to her threw the diya away

Sanskaar: tum pagal hogai ho ragini?

Ragini looked at him: humari behen?

Sanskaar: usay hosh agaya hai.. chalo

Ragini smiled and got up , both of them ran towards the ward. As ragini entered she saw swara standing , she had tears in her, ragini looked at her teary eyes, she then saw laksh coming in the room, he went for some paper work. Everyone was happy. Ragini ran to swara and hugged her.

Ragini: swara tum theek ho? Hum bta nahi sakty hum kitnay khush hain

Ragini touched the back of her head and cried but suddenly swara pushed ragini back shocking everyone and ragini who couldn't believe how swara just pushed her. Sanskaar was astonished, he couldn't believe either.

Ragini: swara?

Swara ran and sanskaar thought she was coming towards him but to his utter shock swara went past him and hugged laksh. Laksh who was taken aback looked at sanskaar who turned around and then at ragini who was shocked. She turned around to look at swara hugging laksh and crying.

Swara: laksh tumhay pata hai aj tak job hi meray sath howa, job hi galat howa wo sab ragini nai kia tha.

Ragini moved back not believing, sanskaar whose eyes were teary looked at swara as if she was speaking some alien language. Sharmishta looked at swara and then to ragini who was not able to say anything and was looking at laksh and swara

Swara coming out of the hug as she broke the hug, her managlsutra got entangled in laksh's buttons. As swara saw her managslsutra she was shocked, she touched it and then looked at laksh

Swara: tumnay mujsy shadi karli laksh? Itna pyar kartay ho mujhsy?

She cried and asked to laksh . laksh looked at swara dumb founded

Sanskaar went to swara and grabbed her arm: swara yeh tum kia keh rai ho?

Swara looked at sanskaar with hatred in her eyes and slapped him hard, sanskaar covered his face not believing

Swara: naam mat lo mera. Mujhay laga tha kai tumnay mujhy sari sachai btai hai, nahi jaanti thi mai kai tumhari sachai bhi aek jhoot hai, itni bari baat chupai mujhsy? Itni bari baat kai tum akelay nit hay tumharay sath koi aur bhi tha jo mujhy aur laksh ko alag karna chahta tha.

Swara turned around and pointed towards ragini: yeh meri pyari behen ragini. Yeh thi tumharay sath tumharay har gunah mai hisay daar.

Sanskaar: swara yeh tum kia bol rai ho? Wo behen hai tumhari, tumhay kia hogya hai?

Swara: enough! Mujhay laga kai har aek ko dosra mauka milna chai par nit um kisi maukay kai layyak nahi ho sanskaar tum sirf nafrat aur saza kai layyak ho. Tumnay apna badla lainay keliye meri behen kai sath mil kar itni giri hui harkatein ki. Nafrat hai mujhy tumsay, I just hate you

Swara's voice was so bitter that it actually gave goose bumps to sanskaar, the way she said that.

Swara moved towards ragini and gave a tight slap to her

Sharmishta shouted: shonaa

Swara: aur bachi hui kasar tumnay puri kardi ragini. Behen kehti ho apnay apko? Tumnay mujhsy mera pyar cheenay ki koshish ki? Mujhay aur laksh ko alag karnay ki koshish ki? Apni khud ki behen ko maarnay ki koshish ki? Lanat hai tumpay. Par mera aur laksh ka pyar jeet gaya

She showed ragini her managalsutra: dekho laksh nai mujhsy shadi karli.

Ragini could not believe her faith it was as if time went back and this could have happened if she would not have married laksh instead.

Swara: tumhay saza milay gi, milay gi tumhay saza (she shouted and grabbed ragini shaking her vigorously while laksh, sanskaar and all tried to handle swara, ragini stood unmoving her eyes were continuously flowing tears)

Swara fainted and sanskaar took her to the bed placing her down

The doctor checked swara and then to all the family matters, ragini wiped her tears still remembering what has just happened. Sanskaar stood still beside laksh whose focus was on ragini. Sanskaar laksh and ragini were not moving . durga parsad went to the doctor and asked

Durga parsad: dr. yeh sab

Dr: durga paesad ji , ab mai jo kehnay jar aha hoon wo apko aur sabko bohat dehan sai suna hoga. Swara is going through partial amnesia .

Shekhar: matlab?

Dr: yeh hadsaa jo kal unkai sath howa hai, yeh shaid pehlay bhi hochuka hai

Ragini lifelessly said: ji doctor humnay apni behen ko paani mai Dhaka dia tha

Laksh moved towards her: ragini please

Dr: unfortunately swara wapis usi time pai chali gai hain jab apnay unhay paani mai Dhaka dia tha. Aur uskay baad kia howa tha kia nahi unhay kuch yad nahi hai. She assumed kai iss state maim r laksh nai unsay shadi karli and that's it.

Shock was a smaller word for everyone specifically sanskaar. Ragini and laksh

Laksh: but doctor yeh sach nahi hai. Iss time period mai swara married sanskaar bhai and wo bohat khush hain and she was pregnant I guess humay usko btana chai

Sharmishta : laksh theek keh raha hai, hum usko yad karwaein gait oh wo yad karlai gi

Dr: don't even try, miscarriage and iss accident ki waja sai unka heart aur brain bohat kamzor hai, even her body is very weak. wo kisi bhi kisam ka stress nahi lai paein gi. Agar unko forcefully kuch yad kraya gaya ya shock dia gaya so she can lose her life as well . unki condition bohat critical hai.

Sanskaar sat hopelessly

Ragini closed her eyes

Laksh couldn't believe what has just happened

Annapurna : par humay kuch toh karna hi hoga

Sharmishta: swara sai mai baat karon gi

Ragini took a deep breath and moved towards her maa, she knew what she has to do. Ragini wiped her tears

Ragini: nahi maa ap usai kisi bhi tran ki koi baat nahi karein gi. Jab tak swara ko khud kuch yad nahi ajata koi usko forcefully kuch yaad nahi kraye ga.

Sharmishta: ragu magar

Ragini: maa dr. saaf saaf keh chukay hain aur meray liye meri behen ki zindagi sai barh kar koi sach nahi hai

Annapurna: phir kia karna chai humay

Ragini: jo swara sach samjhti hai . jab tak wo theek nahi hojati usay koi kuch nahi btaye ga. Agar usko lagta hai kai laksh uskai pati hain toh theek hai laksh ko yeh karna hoga

Laksh got shocked and went to her grabbed her arm and make her look at him

Laksh: ragini mai yeh kaisay karsakta hoon? Mai tumsay pyar karta hoon and swara bhai sai. Hum usay baat karein gai she will be alright

Ragini: aur agar usko kuch hogya toh? Kia hum jee paein gai?

Laksh left her arm

Sanskaar got up: ragini sahi keh rai hai . agar swara ki khushi aur uska sakoon isi cheez mai milta hai toh humay yeh karna hoga

Laksh shook his head not believing : bhai ap bhi? Yeh sahi nahi hai

Sanskaar: mai kavita ko khoo chukka hoon lucky, swara ko kho nahi paon ga

Uska sath uski zindagi sai zada important ni hai meray liye.

The elders were stunned, they knew it was the only way but was it right?

Sharmishta: ragu tera kia beta? Teray anay walay bachay ka kiya? Laksh tera pati hai sab theek tha yeh achanak kia hogya

Ragini turned around controlling herself, she joined her hands and prayed

Laksh: kia mang rai ho?

Ragini: takat

Laksh: kisliye? Ragini yeh kehna bohat asaan hai par karna bohat asaan nahi hai. Pyar mazak ni hota

Ragini: mushkil nahi hota toh usko qurbani ku kehtay laksh

She forward her hand towards laksh: ap kehtay hain na laksh kai ap humsay bohat pyar kartay hain, apni zindagi sai bhi zyada?

Laksh who had tears in his eyes nodded

Ragini smiled: toh aj wakt agaya hai pyar keliye kuch karnay ka, swara humari behen hai, humari jaan basti hai usmay. Humari har khushi usay juri hai. Aur agar ap humsay sacha pyar kartay hain toh apko humari khushi ka khyal rakhna hoga. Karna hoga laksh apko yeh

Laksh: kash kai pyar ka imtehaan tum kisi aur cheez mai mangti ragini

He put his hand on hers : theek hai jab tak swara thek nahi hojati mai yeh natak karon ga.

Sanskaar came towards laksh and hugged him

Sanskaar: thank you lucky

Both brothers cried hard.

Nurse came: mrs swara maheshwari ko hosh agaya hai, wo apnay husband sai milna chahti hain

Sanskaar moved towards the door when nurse said: ap laksh maheshwari hain?

Sanskaar was taken aback by this and realized it he moved back, laksh looked at ragini

Ragini: jayee laksh

Laksh wiped his tears and went inside while both ragini and sanskaar stood in front of the glass door and saw laksh who sat beside swara and swara got up in the sitting position and hugged laksh.

Sanskaar cried shutting his eyes tightly while ragini slided along the the door and sat down

"mera toota tha dil

Uski awaz thi"

2 days later

Maheshawri mansion

"yeh mohabbat bhi aek ibadat hai

Yeh ibadat bhi aek mohabbat hai"

Swara was back in maheshwari mansion and everyone was there with her, swara threw an angry glare at sanskaar and the at ragini . laksh who was sitting beside swara looked at ragini who was looking down.

Swara : ab mai theek hoon toh better hoga agar un wanted log meri nazro kai samnay sai chalay jaien toh

Sharmishta: shonaa yeh kia tareeka hai?

Swara: maa jabsay mujhy logo ki dhokay baazi kai baray mai pata chala hai na tabsay mai sab tareekay bhool gai hoon

She stood up

Ragini: swara please tum zada stress mat lo

Swara: oh stop it ragini, apna yeh natak kisi aur kai samnay jakay karo meray samnay nahi.

Sanskaar: swara please

Swara: tumsay beech mai bolnay ko kisnay kaha hai mr sanskaar?

Swara turned to durga parsad: papa apt oh insaaf keliye janay jatay hain na? toh phir ap insaaf keejay . inn dono nai mujhy aur laksh ko bohat bara dhoka dia hai aur meri pyari behen nai toh mujhy marnay ki koshish bhi ki hai toh inkay liye koi saza nahi?

Annapurna: beta ragini sharminda hai jo usnay kia , bhool jao

This shocked swara

Swara: bhool jaon? Meri behen nai meri shadi ka din bigad dia and ap keh rai hain bhool jaon, ragini ka kia hai wo toh yahan sai chali hi jaye gi. Par iss ghar ka master mind beta uska kia? Usko koi saza ni papa?

Durga parsad didn't knew what to do and laksh hearing what swara said felt his world coming to a crash.

Laksh: swara relax, bhool jao un sb baton ko

Swara touched laksh's face and laksh slightly moved back uncomfortable. Sanskaar looked the other way and ragini calmed her nerves down

Sujata was very happy by all of this finally swara was out of her son's life and she could not have asked for more.

Swara: lucky tumhara dil bohat bara hai , tumhari choti choti galtiyo pai papa tumhay ghar sai bahar nikal daity hain aur sanskaar keliye kuch bhi nahi? Ku? Sanskaar ko bhi iss ghar sai bahar nikalna chai aur jab yeh buray log hum dono ki zindagi sai chalein jaein gai tab hum apny relation ki new beginning karein gai.

Sujata: aii chorii, mara beta iss ghar sai kahi na jaye ga, agar tanay thari behen ko ghar sai nikalna hai toh nikal daina apnay aur laksh kai reception party kai baad

Everyone shockingly looked at sujata. Annapurna threw an angry glare at sujata

Sujata: jiji ab shadi hui hai toh reception toh hoa hi na

Swara excitingly look at laksh

Swara: oh toh isliye tum itnay chup chup ho.. reception , lucky I love you for this

She hugged him while laksh looked at ragini who turned around and sanskaar ran to his room.
