Credit to them for keeping it under wraps and pulling off this surprise. That duo is still more popular than this show itself.

And they sang Dekha Ek Khwaab Toh Yeh Silsile Hue - one they haven't sung before. So it had a fresh feel. In Idol PD had sung it as a solo with Arunita just giving the backing vocals on the aalaap.

On the other hand I wonder if TRPs would have received a major boost if they had publicised it.

I just watched the Captain's duet because someone sent it to me. It was not great. Wrong song. Will catch up with the episode later.

I watched the launch of Zee Bangla Saregamapa yesterday. It has this amazing 7 year old singing with the dholak. He stole my night. Worth watching.
They just had 3 aspirants yesterday but that lot had Mismi Bose of Indian Pro Music League and Voice Kids 1.

What's the format of Bangla SRGMP? All age groups contestants allowed? I saw some promos on insta and there were adults as well as kids.

I am not sure, but there may be an upper age limit. Don't usually have people over 30 in this show. But it seems to start from 5+ and can go up to 30.

@bold: Absolutely. He hasn’t had many standout performances. His voice is the only USP, but audience will get bored of it if he doesn’t deliver as per expectations.

Though my prediction was based off the lack of competition. He will most definitely make it to top 5. Sony doesn’t disappoint its audience. From there, it’s a matter of votes, so still more chances of winning because his popularity hasn’t diminished, including among majority of teen audiences who may devote themselves to voting. And like I said, it’s not like the others are giving him a tough competition. I can’t see any other kid with an exceptional selling point.

So far, I think the finalists are going to be - Faiz, Mani, Pranjal, Aryananda, and Rituraj/Sayisha. Vishwaja stands a chance instead of last two if they want every captain in the finale.

Agree.
Pranjal will have a tough time getting home-base votes because they are non-existent. Sayisha will tip it and can go on to pull large number of pan-India votes.
But the names you mention will be in the fray. Last Season had 6 finalists, so just one of these will finally miss out.

Vishwaja deserves to be in final.. she has potential.

But i feel she is not getting enough chance to stand alone. If a girl can stand beside Aryananda is Vishwaja. Since people know Aryananda from saregamapa she is getting more attention. I like her too but its time for her to work on her pronounciation issues.

Sat 11th June

Vishwaja -Sayli :- vishwaja is showing good improvement. But why was Sayli accompanying her through most of the lines? Would have loved to hear more of Vishwaja in this. Sayli should learn to take a backseat & allow her more room to showcase. This is where Pawan scores. 👍

Aryananda - Rituraj :- I am still not warming upto Arya. Her parts were too nasal/ feeble for me to get the feel of the song, though she is pitch perfect. She appeared to be struggling a bit, may be some scale issues? Aryananda should also work on her lyrical clarity apart from the pronunciation. As usual Rituraj was awesome, esp considering that it was a tough song for an 11 yr old. Effortless connect. 👍

Rohan -Pratyush :- an enjoyable performance. Pratyush did well after weeks of slipping. Rohan ,though not perfect is always the complete drama package . An easy song, delivered well. 👍

Pranjal - played safe, stuck to his genre. As usual a wonderful rendition .But no surprises here. The minute he started with yet another boat song with Bengali preludes, you know he is going to deliver.

Mani - Yet another amazing rendition. But his story got stretched…. and stretched….🙄

His background has been fed to us week after week. ( like sunny polishing shoes, khudabhaksh’s mom at the construction site etc) We get the point, so shall we move on, TCT?

The boy has immense talent to make it, there is no need to give us a 15 mnt ride on poverty, maa ki mamta/takhat etc… I love this kid. He will go places - with or without poverty.
Pawan -Aru duet. The surprise pack of the episode. They were not upto the mark, and that’s coming from a die-hard arudeep fan. That being said, even at their mediocre best they stand head & shoulders above the rest! 👍👍👌👌. Together always a delight to watch, even when they strike at being ‘ordinary’,

Soyab - another tough song, executed well. Though the song itself is high on high notes 😃, pawan should make him tone down a bit. Soyab can do well in softer notes too as seen from the ending.
Asides…..

* ‘ couldve been eye-roll moment of the day’ - Pawan on Harsh’s Arudeep dig ..’couldve been ‘ since our captain zen wouldnt have been able to portray an eye-roll. 😁. But suffice to say, he was clearly not amused.

* Pawan looked listless & morose mostly throughout - clearly not in the mood to play the script.
* 50 Rs kaat le of the director of the script! 🙄😃 Mani forgetting the lyrics was badly executed. Note the difference between the way he starts the song ‘before’ and ‘after’ the drama. 😡.

* pranjal & his Duitara need not be inseparable, esp if it has no role in the song.
